Hi. How to flash a new rom to niki100 ?
Plugin the USB cable into your device and PC, start the Update.exe and wait until it's finished!
If you stuck in the bootloader, simply flash an original Provider ROM like from T-Mobile or whatever you use! After that, flash HardSPL (read the sticky!!!) and try it again!
To flash a ROM, you don't need ActiveSync running!!!
Do I need to run any other program before I flash a new ROM or can I just basically flash it straight with the default HTC setup running?

If you are just flashing the official ROMs, then just follow the links from your phone company or HTC. Download the ROM and run it on your PC.
If you want to flash custom ROM, then more work is needed:
1) Make sure phone is unlock
2) HardSPL the phone to protect the bootloader from being overwritten
3) Download and flash the custom ROMs.

Hi, got problem and need your HELP!
EDITED:
I was trying to set my raph to stock, cuz warranty.
But, after flashing stock SPL, it goes to bootloader write :
" Upgrade rom code error, please try again"
What was happend:
1)I forgot to flash back stock Radio, so... my Raphael now stay in bootloader. And write "Upgrade ROM code error, please try again".
2)I was tried to flash stoc SPL via SD card. maybe it is problem.
What was I try:
I tried to flash HardSPL, but it stuck on 0%
I tried to flash stock Radio, but it stuck on 0%
I tried to flash stock ROM , but it stuck on 0%
I tried to flash non-stoc ROM, and it writes "Invalid vendor ID" or somethink like that, its cuz I have stock SPL, right?
What next?
SOLVED
!! If you will try this way it is on your own risk !!
Here is how to solve this issue:
1) Download MTTY 1.42
2) Download ActiveSync Drivers
3) Download STOCK ROM for your phone(best is from you provider or seller web site)
4) Install drives and disable USB connection in ActiveSync and reboot your computer
5) Set your phone to bootloader and connect via USB
6) Open MTTY set connection to USB
7) Send command "set 16 0" in mtty (without the quotes)
8) Reboot your phone and set it again to bootloader
9) Allow USB connection in ActiveSync and run RUU with stock Rom and Radio
10) If flash is done, make hard-reset
11) You are done!
!!This comes with no gaurentee!!
I cant find way out of this issue
Maybe mtty can help, but I dont know what was write as commands.
A few members have run into that issue before.
Before MTTY, I recommend posting in the HardSPL thread to see if such a member can share some insights.
Cheers,
thx, hope they help me.

As far as I know, HardSPL and the stock SPL cannot be flashed via SD card. You must use the .exe file that you download with HardSPL. I believe that the first post of the HardSPL thread says something to that effect. Flashing the stock SPL should always be done LAST, so flash your stock ROM and Radio (if the ROM does not include the Radio). If your phone is stuck in bootloader, you should still be able to flash your device. See this thread for more information about flashing back to stock SPL.

Yea, I know it now too HardSPL and stock SPL only via cable.
Yea, Im able to flash, but it every time stuck on 0%
And if i try to flash ROM what isnt for my Rahp it write "invalid vendor id", its because I got stock SPL and I cant find way how to flash HardSPL - normal way isnt working for me.
I dont know if what i have in mind will fix it - or possibly make it worse! so i wont post it here (in case someone else mistakes it for propper advice!) but check your PM - and remember it comes with no gaurentee!

Thx for the tip that info was very important for me...
I bought this 3D used but like new and wanted to flash it to Boost so I was doing some preliminary pre-flash things like rooting and loading a custom recovery and rom. I used the HTC unlock method for the bootloader and flashed Eternity and it stuck at Beats screen (boot animation). I downloaded a different rom to see if it was the rom but that one froze at the animation screen as well. I attempted to do an RUU stock reset on my PC from bootloader but it returned an error saying update failed. I'm basically locked out of this phone. I read everything it said about flashing custom kernels and how you are supposed to flash them from bootloader. I know Eternity has a stock kernel don't know about the other one. My last resort is to download a zip of a stock rom and flash that from recovery. If it freezes on me I'm not sure what I'll do next. Any help is appreciated...

Did you follow the root instructions all the way through to install Superuser and the recovery? If so, did you boot into fastboot, connect usb, then do the fastboot boot recovery.img before flashing the rom?

I did not use that method to flash, no. I'm assuming you mean from my PC execute the command. I did follow the instructions to install TWRP which is a custom recovery and I flashed a ZIP from TWRP for Superuser and checked it to be working which it was. (I tested Root Explorer and Terminal Emulator for root)
I was operating off the assumption that custom roms with a STOCK kernel could be flashed by booting into recovery. I went to bootloader then recovery then flashed the rom. Obviously I did something wrong since both roms wouldn't load. I will use your method of PC commands from fastboot into recovery and see where that gets me....pease let me know if this is correct or anything else I need to do....thanks a bunch.
UPDATE : I tried the method of loading recovery from fastboot usb - it worked thank you. The rom loaded. I'm wondering why since it was a custom rom with a stock kernel why I couldn't flash it from recovery.

While the kernel is stock, Virus has a bunch of binaries and such that will be mismatched without flashing the boot.img properly ... So while some of his builds say "stock" not always completely stock.

Not true. You can flash a ROM but if you don't use fastboot it won't touch the kernel. I always change roms with the stock kernel. He must have done something wrong

If the kernel is pure stock with no added binaries or stuff it will work. Virus puts lots of little tweaks in that require it. Now if you can load a completely stock kernel and ramdisk then load Eternity (of course some eternity builds did have a completely stock kernel) then you may be onto something.
As far as flashing with hboot 1.50 easiest way to do that without the computer is with joeykrm's flash image gui. I don't have 1.50 but I have used his gui to do partial updates on svn builds in tandem with adb sync and it works great. His post with the apk is in development section. just read the instructions and flash away.

Yeah I read all about it I'm still stuck on why if I had a stock kernel installed with a stock rom and I do a custom rom flash and as stated it doesn't touch the kernel why the rom wouldn't simply run off the stock kernel - that's what confuses me. I understand the issue of the kernel not being flashed which is obviously what happened with me. I just don't really know where I stand with what kernel to ALWAYS have loaded since if that's the thing with the issue I would want to for purposes of not doing tons of work stay away from flashing kernels and stick to flashing roms when I want to change it up. But if the STOCK kernel won't load with a custom rom which technically it should I guess I'll just have to flash a universal custom kernel and assume any rom I flash will simply use that kernel. Kind of a nightmare compared to my 4G....welcome to the world of the 3D I guess.
I guess going into recovery from hboot with the volume and power buttons wouldn't count - I have to stick with PC commands?
Hi all
I hope there's someone can help to better understand flashing HC ROM from rooted GB stock ROM.
And so I read globatron ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358758) :
If you are already S-OFF on gingerbread, or ran *this* procedure previously skip to Part 2.

SO I skip to PART 2:
I assume myself did the below since mine is rooted:

1. So I just connect to PC, double click ARUWizard.exe and it's done for stock Honeycomb?
Let's say I want to do install custom ROM.
I download:
3G-Wifi: f1a04839f7b187887c77b4ab552cc2fb HC-3G-light.zip

Click to collapse
Here's my question. Why do I need to download HC-3G-light.zip?
I go to one of the HC custom ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409296
I read the instruction:-
Instructions:
1. Make sure you are running the correct Radio & Hboot, Follow GLOBATRON Guide or Paul Obrien Guide
2. Boot into recovery
3. Nandroid/Backup Current ROM
4. Flash Cool_ROM.zip
Click to collapse
2. Can I just download the custom ROM, boot into recovery, backup current ROM, and then flash the Cool_ROM without using PC?
Is it because I need to flash using HC-3G-light.zip RUU (I assume there's ARUWizard.exe inside the HC-3G-light.zip) first before flashing the using method 2 as below:-
Method 2: Using bootloader - NOTE I strongly recommend using method 1.
Rename the downloaded file PG41IMG.zip
Transfer the file to the root of your SD card
Reboot to hboot, which will detect and install the update.
Note it will require two passes to complete the upgrade due to hboot change

At the end, it says:
If you used the light image now restore your nandroid backup or flash your custom ROM now - then you are finished.

Is this part that I use the custom ROM that I want?
Thanks guys. I got confused here with flashing ROM using RUU and flashing ROM using CWM...
If you do the full s off aru wizard you can flash roms freely without the light package. Disregard flashing boot.img if you have s off

Please pardon my noobness.
The last time I did it is to s-off, install CWM and root only. I still using stock GB. So I didn't do any ARUWIZARD.exe thingy.
So.......
What is the first step I do? I did download the light package and I didn't see any ARUWIZARD in it. I guess I need to download the big file?
If on s off gingerbread, run the aru wizard. You will then be on honeycomb with s off. At that point in time you can freely flash honeycomb and ics roms

Hi,to everyone:
so,i'm newb,and i dont leave in the us,and i'm a proud owner of a Droid Dna.
As i dont be on the us,i cant have na OTA update,so i'm stock 1.15
And i have a few questions,help:
1) I'm going to do the Unlock using the Supercid, and do the htcdev process.
flash a new recovery,and install superuser.Correct?
the questions are:
1) Doing the unlock,i can place a ROM even the stock rom (deodexed or other)?
2) The process will be: remove the boot.img from the rom zip file
flash it manually, and them place the rom.zip file on the phone and flash it in recovery.
I think that the rom will not have the new kernel,so i think that i have to install it manually, will i be unrooted?
In this Post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080200) it says that is the new update Rom,but does it have the original kernel,or i have to install it via recovery or manually??
Thanks for all the help you guys can give me!

1, I believe the answer is yes
2. In most cases, the boot.img is provided along with the rom as a separate download so no need of extraction. It has to be flashed using adb from your pc -usually right before you install the rom.
3. If you allow the ota update before you root you can not root, If after you've rooted and bootloader is unlocked, it will download but won't install-at least it did not for me. If you relock the bootloader and flash a to stock, I heard you can get the ota but you will not be able to unlock it again. Not sure on that part. Rumor says that this will get fixed soon but as f right now no.
Thanks

So let's get on with the story
I own a moto e 2 4g variant. I unlocked the bootloader of the device,installed a custom recovery and flashed a custom ROM. Everything went well;I was trying a new ROM almost everyday(5.1.1 and 6.0.1) until one day when I decided to go back to stock ROM.I downloaded the official 6.0 stock ROM,installed it and started the device.The phone booted,went straight to recovery and showed erasing.The problem starts here.It showing eraseing and rebooted after some time and I thought that it's going to boot up into stock 6.0.But I was wrong.The phone booted and again did the same thing and this went on in a loop.So I decided to try it once more.This time I did two more things prior to installing the ROM;
Fastboot erase all
Fastboot erase system - w
Till then in bootloader it showed official in software status. But after those two erase commands it started showing modified.
Even then the result was the same I.e.showing erasing and rebooting. So I thought that I will go back to custom ROM for the time being.all went well, phone booted up but there was no signal. The phone was not accepting any Sims. I went to bootloader and immediately found out the cause. It was showing not found under baseband. So I seperately flashed a modem but to no luck.As of now I have tried all stock rims available(5.0.2,5.1.1,6.0) but the device is not booting up.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
This happened to me with CM13, the same thing happened with the baseband number, and I couldn't even enter in the recovery, so I had to manually flash the Stock ROM via adb. It happened to me again when I tried to root my phone even with the systemless root, the phone just doesn't boot up, I'd recommend you to flash the basebands found in the forums, if that doesn't fix it, you'll have to manually flash the stock rom via adb or you can use the easy tool, it's fairly simple if you follow the steps, I'll leave the links bellow.
