Just wondering what the Boot loader keys are for the neon.
I've tried all sorts of combinations with no success.
I can get into do a hard reset with the call + hangup at the same time. All the others seem to be power + camera but that's a no go.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as my phone is currently a doorstop.

Ok,
Well I just confirmed that the camera and power ARE the keys for the boot loader.
But it seems the firmware that I had on it the camera button did not work.
Maybe that's the reason I cant get into it?
Any other suggestions or is it a goner?
Thanks
Ok.
I found the solution,
I probably should had stated that half the keypad is destroyed courtesy of my dog.
So it wouldn't boot straight into the boot loader so I booted it into do a hard reset and kept plugging and unplugging the USB while pressing the camera and it surprising worked.
So I just re-flashed my ROM and away I go.

Hi guys,
I am still new to this phone and I am trying to read as much as possible. but there is a lot of terminology to absorb. And I definitely want to make sure my phone is OK before the 14-day period when I can exchange it..
So, I unlocked my phone using one of the posted methods on here. i tried it with an AT&T sim card and it works.
Now, I read that there is something like a "hardware lock" which is bad .. because.. I wont be able to root or put rom or update my phone? I tried to go to a recovery mode, but could not, is my phone hardware locked?
Thanks in advance!

Did you do the correct way to recovery?
-Phone off, both volume keys held down
-Hit and hold power button while holding down volume keys
-The word vibrant will come on, and then it will go black again and reboot (still holding down all three buttons)
-When you see the word vibrant THE SECOND TIME let go of the power button but keep the volume keys down until you boot into recovery.
If not, most likely you are hardware locked. I don't have this problem but I think there's threads around for hardware locked users for workarounds and such.
yeah, i did exactly that:
1) power phone off
2) hold both volume buttons
3) hold power button
4) vibrant comes on, wait, vibrant comes on 2nd time
5) release power button, still holding both volume buttons
6) Vibrant starts in a normal way, i do not see anything different, so I assume i am in a regular mode, not recovery mode

Make sure your Vibrant is hardware locked.
If you suspect that it is, you can read this thread HERE.
That will help you get your hardware locked phone working.
Unless you want to go get a new one.
I tied the following ways to test if my phone is hardware locked
1) vol up+ down + power
2) volu up + power
3) vol down + power
Nothing worked How would my phone would be hardware locked? I have not rooted, installed roms, nor apps.. Everything is stock, except that I unlocked the phone. that's all..
And it will be a huge pain to ship the phone back + wait for a new one, which there is no guarantee it wont be hardware locked ..?
Would I be able to install any rom if I am hardware locked? It seems like bionix mod is pretty popular..
Hardware lock is simply a boot loader issue. The phone has software the runs when you turn it out which in turn boots up the operating system. In hardware locked phones, the boot loader is not looking for the key combo to access recovery or download mode. If you go to the link provided, it tells you how to flash your phone to update the boot loader so that it is no longer hardware locked.
Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to read this. My brother's tablet is 'softbricked'. It hasn't been modified in any way, no unlocking, no custom ROMs etc. All he did was try to install the Jellybean update from Asus' site. I'm not quite sure what went wrong but the tablet won't get past the the Asus splash screen.
I've been googling around for solutions, of which I have found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916952, going to the bootloader and factory resetting, or wiping the SD card and replacing the update. The problem is every attempt to get to the bootloader just leaves me at the Asus splash screen. Even holding volume down + hitting the reset slot button doesn't work. All of these fixes require access to the bootloader.
It was the correct SKU, nothing has been done to the tablet, so this shouldn't be TOO difficult to reverse right? I also assume that this isn't the only person this has happened to, but my google searches haven't proved fruitful.

Try powering off the device by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. Now hold volume down and the power button both together and keep holding them for about 5 - 10 seconds. Do you get icons appear on the screen ?

Nope still goes straight to the Asus splash screen. Samsung phones have ODIN that basically is a godmode tool. Does Asus have anything?
He's accepted that all data will be lost. We just want it to work

Hello, everyone!
I recently purchased a LG V10 and I'm in love (Except for the WiFi latency issues). I was reading up on ways to fix the WiFi lag problem and someone suggested wiping your cache. No matter what button combination I use I cannot seem to get to recovery - I've tried Pwr+Volume Up and Down, and letting off the power button for a second when the LG logo comes up and pressing again while still holding the volume buttons. Nothing seems to work, the most I can get is a white screen that asks if I want to do a factory reset when I try the Pwr+Volume Down method, and with Pwr+Volume Up I get a firmware update screen. If I try using "adb reboot recovery" it will boot to recovery but all I get is the dead Android and nothing else no matter what buttons I press.
I was also curious if I could unlock my bootloader since I haven't seen much information about the RS987 model online, so I enabled OEM Unlock from developer options and used "adb reboot booloader" but all it does it reboot my phone. I've also tried holding the volume buttons while plugging the USB cable and no luck there.
Anyone else with a PS987 had any luck loading to their bootloader or recovery? Any other suggestions for correcting the WiFi lag problem? So far I've tried disabling IPv6 on my router (Don't have the option to disable it) and clearing my cache from storage in Settings.
hi have the same problem
have not found a way around it yet
have you?
or any one else?
I've spent hours trying to figure out how to get out of the boot loop but nothing works. I just get the logo on the screen. I wanted to flash a new os image to the rom, but now my computer cannot find the device at all. As an FYI, it has no volume button for doing a hard reset, it has a power button, an esc button and a reset pinhole. I have not found a combination that will get me out of this loop! HELP! (ps not a complete noob when it comes to computers but not far from it)
thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give me
Need a bit more info to try and be helpful

What tool(s) did you use to try and flash it (presume PhoenixSuite) ?
Where did the image(s) come from and for what device(s) were they originally targeted?
Do you by ANY chance have the stock recovery image? If so, you could try to re-flash IT and at least get back to a device that will BOOT.
I have problem with getting back to stock fullmics 5.5 on h850. I have installed it reboot and now Im stuck in secure start-up lock pattern from previous rom I believe. Pattern wont work and also meanwhile "FC system UI has stopped" warning is showing all the time.
I can get into download mode but port is not recgonized in vista so ADB cant be used (WHQL usb drivers 4.4.2 are installed ok)
problem is also that I cant get into recovery mode or
factory reset menu from startup, seems power button down procedure wont work like previously did...for some reason bootloader warning appears almost immediately after power on so power button off and on for a sec like I believe it should, has no effect.
Im really getting out of ideas to solve this...tech brain of the world please gather for help
