THis problem is because of you use the handsfree recently so the plugin jack inside it was broken.
There is mechanical switch inside the handsfree plugin jack. I think it is broken now.
You can fixed it by dissamble the prophet and replace the plugin jack.
May help u
had d same problem too..
it's d jack, not software/rom problem...
i was lucky dat i sent mine to be repaired at HTC service centre without paying any penny....heheh...i sent it there with broken audio jack, and small dot on the screen..i thought i still got my warranty but they said d warranty is void...cos i upgrade to wm6..(lrr..so stupid)...they asked me to pay around rm900++ for motherboard but i said no..went there back to take my prophet..and took a surprise when i assembled back the battery during lunch that everything went fine again..now im phobia of using the headset..heheh...
nice story heh..
surf around d forum to find d manual to open prophet...
Yes,as some members pointed out its a jack issue. I'd the same issue as well and took it 2 HTC. Mine was out of warranty ,so they said 400S$ for replacing the mother board..i was like goto hell ..No way. then took it back from them ,got home, and it started working on its own. If it happens again just, poke the jack with a match stick or something which wont get stuck in there and it will work.

Hi there,
Yes you have to replace the plugin jack but i donot know where i can get in Malaysia since i do not live there.
For guidance to dissamble the prophet , you can search at modaco.com
To dissamble it , you have to open battery cover dan also the camera cover.
My suggestion, leave the prophet to the master services other than tried by your self, the damage can be higher if you try to fix by ur self.
BTW, this is the main problem of prophet when you are recently using handsfree, used bluetooth headset to have more safe operation.
Cheers,

What I meant was, when u use something to poke the jack, make sure you dont use something that has a chance of breaking and getting stuck inside.

[q] need help, earpiece speaker not working

hey, i have a uk htc hd2, i have had it since last march 2010, all has been good, no problems(love this phone),it running standard ROM 1.72.110.4, radio 2.15.50.02_2
my earpiece speaker has stopped working(was fine yesterday, now dead) i have done a quick panic search, i wondered if there is a test code, diagnostic menu to test the speaker? if its broken, can i replace it my self?
i just want my phone working again, as when i make a call ppl can hear me i cant hear them
any advise, help would be great guys
ps my case has a strong magnet clip that when closed rests over the earpiece speaker, could that have damaged it?
I encountered the same problem - calls connected OK - people could hear me - I couldn't hear them....
Phone was returned to Jersey Telecom for repair and I've just received it back after 7 weeks ! ! !
HTC Touch Pro2 loan phone drove me nuts !
Hope you get better service
Regards
hey, quick update found a replacement earpiece on ebay, from hong kong, i know could be risky
i did find a dis-assembly video on you tube, was going to post links but i ant allowed too newbie yet lol
still tempted to fix it myself, feeling brave
i still couldnt find a text code or menu for the earpiece to test it, anyone got any ideas?
no one able to help me out, bit disappointed
no theres no audio test codes/modes.
Before you start taking it apart, you have done a soft reset and a hard reset, right? (my external stopped working today, no obvious reason, but a soft reset fixed it)
hey, thanks for your reply samsamuel
i did do a soft reset, and a hard reset, but no luck sadly
after the hard reset, recovered to an earlier spb backup i had, but still......
i thought htc would have had a test mode etc, but if they dont, then i cant test to find out definitively if the earpiece is the issue
does anyone know a good site for spares(for earpiece). i can only find ebay and a part from hong kong, not sure if it will be as good at the oem earpiece.....
hey, not sure if its any help to anyone, but i replaced my ear-piece and my phone is sorted now just though i would update my progress.....
through a dis-assembly video i found on this forum, and the ear-piece coming from hong kong(off ebay), my phone is sorted
and its not all that difficult to repair
one tip, try use a small glass sucker, to help you remove the LCD screen/digitizer

[Q] Have weak signal after repairing SOLVED

hello to comunity,
i have the samsung galaxy s 2 gt-u9100 mobile phone and everything was perfect untill i opened the phone, the phone has problem at the back housing so i ordered a new one and replaced it, i made everything with caution and slowly. while i changed the back housing i opened the phone and everything was good untill i saw that there was no signal. i did it 2g and i see that there is onlu on raw ar the signal and sometimes none.
i opened the phone again and checked everything but saw nothing wrong. as i searched i saw that the GSM is this part and the cable that connects the antenna is this one . both of them are perfect.
i lost all my day trying with that , at start i had SlimRom 2 then i put the stock one via Odin but it didnt boot, stocked in the boot image (didnt wanted to search why ) so i flashed kernel again and then NeatRom, still no signal and then i went back to SlimRom. but the problem as i saw is not from the rom .
if anyone knows about that thing and tell me what to do i would be gladfull .
That bit is the antenna c/w speaker. There is a thread related to this about usb replacement.People mention about similar problems when they remove the antenna cable.
Heres a pic of spares I have, and look at the gold contacts on the antenna,as they need to be in good contact with the ones on the usb board.Maybe its that,or maybe new antenna is faulty.Try your old one in to eliminate that though. It could even be the antenna cable.
The thread is by someone whos name is Dugud,or similar

maybe take it to a shop with someone who knows what they are doing. I just had to do this with mine, I considered trying to get parts cheap and diy then I considered how much time and stress it could cause me = not worth it. It cost me £25 to have usb replaced, second thing I checked was the signal as I see many having problems with this - outcome is my phone is working sweet again and it only took a couple of hours of my time :cyclops:
Best of luck
Did you read that thread?.I seen a post on here once where someone said they removed that white antenna cable, then refitted it,and lost signal. Then they bought a new cable, which solved the problem.
Also, you dont know the condition of the part you changed, and theoretically you are meant to use anti static wristband and mat when your touching sensitive electronic components......lol

[Q] Galaxy Note charge port replacement problems

My name is Russ and I have a Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-i717 ( AT&T ) which I love . About two months ago the charge port quit working , so I ordered one from Ebay ( Flex cable , Mic/USB board ) , installed it and my signal was weak after installing it so I reinstalled the original board and it went back to full power . I thought it was a bad board , so they sent me another , I installed board #2 and the speaker on the back had no sound , put my board back in and the speaker went back working . So I had the supplier send me another board #3 . I got it installed , and the Mic wouldn't pick up , I put my board back in everything goes back to normal . So I thought it might be the supplier , so I tried a different supplier , same thing . In total I have tried three different suppliers and I lost count on how many boards I have installed .. Every time I can reinstall the original board and it will stop whatever it's doing wrong . My board Number is SGH_I717_SUB_REV1.0_1107 , DRBL12IN BF , 69 . I am at a lost , I don't know if there's something I'm doing wrong . Thank You for your time ib6469 ( Russ )

I just did it last week with no problems on one of our Notes to prepare for sale. Make sure you peel the sticker off the new part to expose adhesive, and be very careful aligning the big connector. Also make sure you get the wire antenna plugged back in all the way. I'd saythe problem is your install but if you can reinstall the original and get back to 1st problem it is weird, obviously at least installing that factory part is going normally.
I used ifixit.com guide to point me in the right direction but it was easy, maybe 15 minutes of work, even being really careful.
I used this part from ebay. With a new battery the old beast is doing great, going on ebay soon.
Good luck!
Thank you
Thank you Delawaredrew,
I saved your supplier , and I will order one from them . THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP , ib6469.

You're welcome!
I read a bunch of reviews of various charging boards when I bought one and many people mentioned peeling the sticker off as a must for proper reception. The wire antenna was a little tricky to reattach, it felt like it was on but looked a little askew; a slight bit more force definitely clicked it in farther. I actually haven't had a SIM in it to verify cell reception but wifi is fine.
Let us know how it goes.

You are correct, there are different revisions on some Samsung charge flex replacements however, usually only 2. Your quickest way to tell, other than the actual revision print on the flex, would be that the interconnect doesn't seem to properly fit or appear as a "loose fit" (or vice versa). As for the adhesive on the bottom, hogwash on affecting the signal. You can have it or not, no difference. It is simply what it is...adhesive. Any signal problems would be caused by the antenna connector not properly seated. Your only other possible causes, if your board revision is correct, would be in your actual handling of the flex during installation. Glad to see people troubleshooting as a group. Feel free to pm me if you have further issues and I will happily try to guide you back to working.
Cheers
