Anyone please confirm I am thinking right?
Here’s what I did:
1.From T-mobile.cz I got the factory Czech T-Mobile Rom (*.exe)
2. I extracted the *.exe with WinRar and got a bunch of files.
3. I took out RUU_Signed and extracted it with NBHtool and got 4 *.NB files:
769.nb
PrimarySplash.nb
SPL.nb
Windows.nb
4. In the meanwhile I extracted my original reconstructed Dutch T-Mobile RUU_Signed.nbh (confirmed working) and took the Windows.nb
5. From the Czech *.nb files I deleted the windows.nb and replaced it with my Dutch windows.nb
6. With htcRIE 0.5.0.12 I put the three Czech NB’s:769.nb (suppose radio), PrimarySplash.nb and SPL.nb together with The Dutch windows.nb together in New RUU_signed.nbh.
7. I put the newly created RUU_Signed back into the folder with files from step 2.
8. Using Winrar I stuffed ala these files together in an *.sfx file that has an instruction saying that after extracting the sfx it should start RomUpdateUtility.
9. So far so good! I clicked the sfx and it would nicely extract and start the Czech RomUpdateUtility. The utility being Czech is no problem as I/we have been using it probably a sillion times and don’t read it.
10. Now I don’t have the guts to test it on my Dutch MDA Vario IV JJ but want to know wether this would work in case of RMA.
I remember that the Dutch factory ROM-upgrade for T-Mobile Vario III (Kaiser) would restore everything: SPL, Splash etc) By doing the above I somehow think I have re-created sort of a Dutch “factory” ROM upgrade that will restore everything back to stock.
Suppose this works, will I be able to go back to Hard SPL a second time? (heard some rumors...)
I want you guys to know that I don’t have any education in ICT but consider myself smart enough to figure things like this out . However… I am not too sure about what I have created.
Thnx. For any kind of feedback.
Am willing to upload this for people who want to try.
Free Rapidshare (10 downloads) if needed I will put it in my FTP.
Was it not in The raphael original shipped ROM wiki?
Also if it would help, I think I still have the files backed up at home somewhere. If you want I could look for it.

It was but when reading the thread that goes with it I get serious doubts about that one working well
I have them backed up as well but I never dumped the splash, radio and more important the SPL. and everyone is talking about SPL's lately but no one can answer me wether one of the offered solutions is a working one.
So I was thinking to sort of creating a oneclick solution for whenever a RMA occures to me again
Was this a dumb question?

If you were able to download a factory ROM directly from your Carrier's website, then it would include everything you need to return your device to stock.
Then, all you would have to do is follow the instructions in the Hard-SPL thread to install the stock SPL (if you've flashed Hard-SPL), and then re-flash the factory ROM you downloaded to restore the original SPL.

There is no Dutch T-Mobile factoryrom.. that is the first thing I checked of course even before I had my first Vario IV at home.
And I still think somehow to remember that flashing the stock T-Mobile to my old Kaiser did flash the stock SPL as well... however I am starting to have doubts now..
Besides I haven't found anyone yet confirming that the Stock T-Mobile SPL from the Stock SPL thread actually works...
And the thingy I created should flash back stock radio and splash.. would you know of any safe way to test this Captain_Throwback??

I don't know of any "safe" way, no. I have no confidence that the Stock SPL from the stock SPL thread will work, either - that's why I had that thread closed. After you flash the stock SPL from the Hard-SPL thread, you risk bricking your phone if you try flashing a created ROM to it (even if it is created from parts of stock ROMs).
If you have a stock SPL on the phone, its possible that the extracted SPLs from that thread will actually work; but I'm already on my second phone, so I'm not willing to risk trying it.

That's my issue since tuesday I am dealing with my second raph as well the other one was only a couple of weeks old. The mobo burned and they were not able yet to recover anything. But I have set my goals on a working recoverymethod.
Too bad you had your thread closed as it was going somewhere good. and people not reading or trying unconfirmed things take their own risks as this is a development area.
Would you reconsider asking NATF to reopen it and change the topicname?

Well, I think any future conversation on the whole "flashing back to stock" can be carried on in JZ SmartMort's thread with the instructions on how to do that. He also explains in there why none of the SPLs that I extracted will ever overwrite Hard-SPL. Unless Olipro or cmonex enlighten us on how they were able to modify that 1.90 SPL to overwrite the Hard-SPL, that's the only one that'll ever work.
I did see you posted in that thread, but I think if you really NEED a different SPL than one that's in an existing stock ROM, that if you PM Olipro or cmonex, one of them may be able to help you.

If you're able to successfully flash your Franken-ROM w/stock SPL to your phone after flashing the 1.90 warranty SPL, your phone still works, and you can connect to a computer using Activesync or Mobile Device Center, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to re-flash Hard-SPL onto your device. The key words in that sentence are "if" and "successfully" . . .

Hi @ all...
so time has come i will return my phone to tmobile, because of the heavy problems with the slide-out-keyboard. i tried to solve my keyboard-problems with the orignal shipped rom, but i realised that it doesn't matter which rom i flash to my phone, the problem seems to be of hardware-ish nature...
so now my problem is: i want to fall back to the original state...
i want original IPL,SPL,OS,Radio, Boot, etc etc...
i tried to flash the "Original Shipped TMOB101" from the wiki, it flashed nice with CustomRUU...the original flash utility couldn't find my phone.
so i unpacked the exe and flashed the nbh with CustomRUU... flashed nicely, but didn't boot... first problem: whitescreen, second: hang on windows mobile screen, third: NOGSM... tried to flash newer GSM 1.43. this worked nice then, but isn't original... any idea how to get the 1.05.02 radio running? tried to reflash the complete tmobile nbh again, same result.
tried to flash with Vista, and also with XP, nothing changed...
next problem i assume is: how to downgrade SPL? and how to detect Bootversion? could it be, that i flashed some newer boot in between, because, i have always flashed newest radio roms, could it be that i flashed a boot together with a certain radio?
hope someone can help me... my device is also simunlocked, i hope they do not recognize it at tmobile. but i want to get everything else into original state before returning.
greetings
garfield
There is now an official wm6 update which you can use
it's available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337163
If you're wondering if it's properly been released, it's also available on the t-mobile business site.
Shaks
shaks1979,
I have just been to the tmobile business site and I cannot find the WM6 update - please can you post a link to it?
many thanks,
Paul
the german t-mobile site dies not offer to download the upgrade yet.
flashed the new WM6 from t-mobile yesterday, and it works really great, but my keyboard isn't functional anyway...
has anyone an idea how to enable the flash-utility to overwrite the SPl and IPL? because my tri-color-screen reads IPL-1.01 and SPL-2.10-Olipro and this means, both of them have not been updated... any way to overwrite these rom-sections with the now tmobile ones?
so when finished upgrading (IPL and SPL have to be upgraded before i can go on) i will return my phone to a tcom store, they have to bother with my keyboard issue... my phone isn't a half year old by now... keyboard issues like this shouldn't be there i assume
greetings
and thanks for the new wm6 links.
garfield
Extract the nbh file from the T-Mobile ROM and flash it with CustomRUU. This will overwrite IPL / SPL
[...see reason]
which settings do i have to use with CustomRUU? do i have to select same radio-buttons as always? (SPL 2.10-Olipro/Is it HardSPL) ?
okay, so i found the option via try and error i had to use use: Force UNSAFE SSPL.
i have another question now:
as far as i know, t-mobile DE has not released this ROM to its customers via their website, so i have to flash my phone back to WM5 original rom, and bootloaders, because this new tmobile rom didn't make my problems with the keyboard go away.
my local store told me that they will send the device back to tmobile, and tmobile then will repair or exchange the device.
so if they send it back to tmobile, i uess i have to put it into original state, haven't i? cause flashing the rom causes loss of warranty, doesn't it? i hope they will not recognize, that i sim-unlocked it (did not touch the CID).
problem occurring: i extracted the nbh from the original shipped-archive and flashed it with CustomRUU but when booting NO GSM shows up, and windows stops booting during first bootsplash... sometime during second bootsplash... any idea? might it be that it was like this, because of olipros 2.10 SPL?
greetings

I wonder why you SIM unlocked your device?
The German Hermes never was SIM locked, so, there was no need to unlock it!
You will either have to Soft-CID-unlock or Hard-CID-unlock your device if you want to flash it otherwise it won't work!
What settings are you talking about? You simply copy the nbh file to the CustomRUU folder and run the UPDATE UTILITY in there! There are no settings, it works the same way as the utilities from shipped ROMs - simply follow the instructions on screen and do not plug out nor touch the device until the job is done!
So actually it is not a hermes, it is a MDA Vario 2 from tmobile, isn't it?
partly you're right, the device wasn't sim-locked, but net-locked, wich means i cannot use my second sim card from vodafone with it. so i had to unlock it.
(i tried without unlocking, the phone asked me for a certain code and no, it was not the pin-code from the vodafone-sim )
if you launch CustomRUU you are asked for the version of your SPL, at least this is what happens when i start it. if you cannot imagine what i am talking about, i will make a screenshot, for better understandings.
I had Hard-SPL installed, this is a form of SOFT-CID-unlocking?
with having Hard-SPL installed i could not boot the original shipped german TMOB101-rom from the wiki...
can i flash the old ipl/spl/radio/os without worries?
greetings
garfield
Within the CustomRUU folder you should see a file called ROMUpgradeUt.exe - this never ever asks for SPL, it is nothing but a modified FLASHING UTILITY.
i only have ruuwrapper.exe
i used this customruu v5.2 from olipro's thread
what customruu are you talking about? actually i never saw a file named ROMUpgradeUt.exe
where to find?
thanks for your help.
greetings
garfield
EDIT:
i have just found this:
NOTE: If your radio version is currently HIGHER than 1.27.00.00 then it is very likely the radio bootloader is version 0108, this WILL NOT allow the radio to be downgraded to a radio containing BL 0106 and will result in a "NO GSM" error. As with other downgrade guides this is NOT intended as a guide for claiming the warranty of the device having flashed components which are not authorised by the manufacturer or carrier.

Dear all,
I am facing a problem here.
Had a hardware problem with the built in microphone and had to revert back to stock rom/splash screen/Original SPL in that order.
Had no problems reverting the ROM and the original screen back (just a couple of flashes), BUT when I tried to revert back the stock SPL here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=110582&d=1220406410
I renamed the file to RAPHIMG.nbh, copied it to the root of the SD Card and entered bootloader mode and this is what it displays:
RAPH100
SPL-1.90.0000 (Which means a successful flash)
!!! AND THEN THIS !!!
"Upgrade ROM code error"
"Please try again"
This message is located in the last part of the green stripe in the tri color screen (bootloader)
It is then followed by the grey screen automatically which you are supposed to press volume key to start a flash process BUT it just HANGS at Loading...
unabling you to flash anything.
It's actually a friend's phone too so I guess you understand how hard it is....
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance
Possible image might be corrupt on sd card, grey screen is shown when it's trying to read sd, have you tried with sd removed? if you get to 2nd tricolor screen with sd removed i would use usb flash to restore it to working order..

Also, displaying the Upgrade ROM code error, please try again message

You cannot flash an SPL from the bootloader. You need to use SSPL. The directions can be found in the HardSPL thread.

Hey man, thx for stopping by..
If I understand correctly, SSPL runs through the device which is stuck at bootloader currently... or am I hopefully wrong??
If you're at the tricolor screen and it reads serial, that should be fine.. plug in usb and it should switch to usb.. then flash a stock carrier rom through usb.. that should get you up and running and you can then run sspl and flash your spl

That's exactly why i suggested stock ROM, stock SPL will only accept stock ROM's (it will overwrite the spl too so make sure the stock rom you are using is the right one)

I had the same problem as you and could not flash any rom, Always get Invalid vendor ID.
You need the right Stock Rom to flash and in my case in the middleeast, the Stock Rom is so far only available in at HTC.
I had to take the phone to HTC Service Center and they flashed the correct Stock Rom and charged me as they did it out of warranty.

Sorry about my last post... I misread your issue.
If you flashed the stock 1.90 SPL from the HardSPL thread, then you will need to ask Olipro (or cmonex) which WWE ROM it originated from. That ROM is the ONLY one your phone will accept.
The steps in reverting SPL for warranty / return state to always do the ROM first so that you do not run into this problem. I had the same issue when I was testing a US 3G Diamond I bought from Best Buy (to become acclimated to TF3D prior to the Fuze's release). I restored the SPL first, and then couldn't get Dutty's ROM off the phone, because I could not locate a downloadable version of the WWE ROM that phone came with. [Luckily, Best Buy Mobile's employees in KOP, PA aren't too clever, and I was able to convince them that the phone came that way. ]

Hmm, then I need to know from which ROM the SPL originated and then flash it.
Thing is, some of the shipped roms available at wiki are just nbh files..
I tried flashing with the wrapper exe and the RaphaelCustomRUU.exe and still all roms I've downloaded don't seem to work.
It's a RAPH100 untied to a network.

SPL has nothing to do with the Invalid Vendor ID Error, It is the CID. In another word you can flash SPL 1.95 and still can not flash the AT Rom 1.95.502.5 because the CID is different.

ViperBJK's QMAT features GoldCard generator for current HTC devices that can force RUU to bypass CID check.

The CID is determind by the SPL.
Look up the error code posted... everything points to HardSPL. Back in my Wizard days, HardSPL did not exist, and we just did a CID unlocking. This is not the case with newer devices.
All ROMs are not created equal. Each WWE ROM checks for specific information within the SPL, and if it doesn't find what it's expecting, fail...

Where can I know that?
@NotATreoFan && Shafez,
I remember from TyTNII day when Shafez suggested extracting 3.29 and 28 SPLs from the newer shipped 6.1's for a better responsive device.
We could extract and build with htc rom tool if I remember the name of the tool correctly.
Do we have a tool as such compatible with TP? (agreeing with NotATreoFan here)
@Shafez,
Since you think it is not SPL and it is a CID issue, what can I do about it?
Sending it to SVC for repair out of warranty is an option but I'd like to leave it as my last.
Did they provide the ROM or they flashed it for you?
Were u able to make raw files out of it for future use or any1 else has it?
Thx guys and keep the help coming

Since you cannot get past the bootloader, your only option is to find the WWE ROM that matches the SPL you flashed. Even though the HTC ROM Tool "signs" the NBH file, it still won't fool the stock bootloader... if it did, we wouldn't need HardSPL.
I do completely apologize but hope someone can help.
I've been through the wiki, I've search for "revert to factory rom fuze" "download factory raphael rom" etc etc etc. Why can I not find the instructions on reverting back to factory Roms? I see "where to download" them but cannot find a wiki on the procedure for warranty replacement.
I'm sure I'll get flamed but I really can't find it.
Thanks for the help.

0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. also download the original hardspl from the attachments in this post.
3. run the hardspl exe but do not click anything in RUU yet. just let the hardspl EXE extract the files for flashing.
4. the SPL you want to revert to is a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted hardspl package, overwriting the original NBH file in it!
5. continue with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+6. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen, should now just say 1.90.0000.
that's it.

Because you got the information you needed, and because apparently you are a moron (note: I rarely accuse users of this so feel particularly special.) I am closing this thread before you do something else stupid.
Side Note: if you knew where Oli posted how to revert your rom, then why did you start a new thread for the issue. I honestly have half a mind to ban you for not reading AND then choosing to be an idiot on top of it.
This thread is a supplement to the HardSPL thread, in the unfortunate case that you need to return your phone to Stock specifications (including Stock SPL), and the SPL that came with your phone didn't happen to be the 1.90 version included in the HardSPL thread. I've included the few that I have here, and as I come across others, I'll add them to this post. If anyone else has other versions, feel free to post them here as well.
Each zip file includes the Stock SPL nbh file ONLY. In order to restore Stock SPL, you WILL need the HardSPL package from this thread.
SPL 1.95 - Extracted from AT&T HTC FUZE Stock ROM
SPL 5.05 - Extracted from Official HTC ROM (WWE)
SPL 5.08 - Extracted from AT&T HTC FUZE Test ROM
SPL 5.07 - Extracted from Official HTC ROM - Southeast Asia - Sintel-English
SPL 1.90 (from HardSPL thread) - I added this one just so they're all in the same place.
EDIT: I have tired flashing several of these to my device with no success. It appears there is more that I need to do to extract these SPLs properly. In the meantime, I recommend that you use the 1.90SPL from the HardSPL thread for your warranty purposes. If you would then like to get the stock SPL on your device, re-flashing the stock ROM should accomplish that.
Thanks
Thank you so much. I have been looking for the 1.95 spl for weeks. In fact that was the only thing stopping me from flashing Da G's Windows mobile 6.5 ROM. Also could you send me a Pm with Instructions on how to flash the wm6.5 rom and the 1.95 spl.
Thanks.

Before we do that, let's stop there. If you want to flash Da_G's WM6.5 ROM, you need to have HardSPL on your device. You should only be flashing a stock SPL if you are returning your phone, for warranty reasons. Can you clarify what it is you're trying to do?
Also, have you reviewed this thread, so you know how to flash your phone properly?
Thanks for compiling this. Sticky time!

Yea I have looked at that and I know about having the hard spl. I just don't know how to flash the 6.5 rom. Thanks for your concern though.
StockSPL 1.69
Here is Stock SPL 1.69 from T-Mobile Czech ROM extracted from RUU_signed.nbh with NBHextract.exe a converted with yang back to nbh by following code
Code:
yang -F SPL.nbh -f SPL.nb -t 0x200 -s 64 -d RAPH***** -c 11111111 -v 1.00.000 -l WWE

I have HardSPL and it says version 1.90Olinex. I think my stock was SPL 1.95 but i'm not sure. I have the ATT Fuze. I'm having a problem with the G-Sensor and need to send it back for replacement. Can anyone confirm that I need to flash 1.95 for ATT or anything else? Also If I have upgraded the radio, should I downgraded it before send back for replacement or its ok?
Thanks

When you flash the stock Fuze ROM, your radio will also be flashed. Be sure to follow the instructions in the Hard-SPL thread for returning your phone to stock specifications. When you get to the part about flashing back to Stock SPL for warranty purposes, the 1.95 SPL from the OP here is the one you should use (if you purchased your Fuze in the US after it was officially released - that's what mine came with).
Well, lucky me . I kept shaking the phone and my G-sensor works now. It was stuck on one side and would move. I think I will hold off with the return to stock for now, i really dont want to get refurb replacement.
Thanks for the reply.

Please... for your own sake and ours... please read. This has been covered many, many times... I don't want you to end up with a bricked device, and quite frankly, I don't believe this question needs to be answered yet again. Please read, I am not trying to be rude, but if you read, you won't have to ask this question.
Hey Captain,
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but for some reason the 1.95 SPL file doesn't work. The SPL remains as HardSPL. However, the Stock 1.90 SPL file provided by Onlinex does work. Any advice?
Thanks!

I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong. I'll look into it. In the meantime, if you just re-flash the Stock ROM after flashing the 1.90 SPL, it should upgrade your SPL to 1.95 (since that's what's included with the Stock ROM). I'll try and figure out what I did wrong.
Great, I'll try it.

SPL extract attempts unsuccessful
I have tried to flash almost all of the stock SPLs I extracted, but I can't get any of them to flash using the HardSPL wrapper. I'm not sure that any of them will work. I've updated the first post with the only method that will probably work to restore stock SPL (unless someone can figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've tried htcRIE, NBHExtract, NBHUtil, & yang, and while all of the SPLs I extracted appear to have been done successfully, when I try to flash them to my phone, none of them are working. I'm getting a connection error with the wrapper. Maybe its not the SPL, but an issue with my phone, I don't know.
At any rate, I believe this thread will probably not serve the purpose for which it was intended, and should perhaps be archived & closed.
My first attempt at helping out appears to have been unsuccessful .

As you already suggested, it's probably best to flash back to the stock 1.90 SPL following Onlinex's guide after which one should just install the stock ATT Rom or the other stock roms with the latest stock SPL. This worked for me.
Thanks!
About the stock SPL, i am not sure which is mine. As i am from Asia (Malaysia) , which one should i get?
1) SPL 5.05 - Extracted from Official HTC ROM (WWE)
or
2)Extracted from Official HTC ROM - Southeast Asia - Sintel-English

So as far as i understand, it is possible to flash 1.90 SPL to my device although it had 1.69 SPL as a default by T-Mobile!?
To your problem: shouldnt you just restore your stock Radio and stock OS before flashing stock SPL ?

First of all, if you need to restore your phone back to stock, as tvaril noted, you MUST first flash your stock ROM/radio. Once you do that, then you should flash the stock SPL (1.90) provided in the HardSPL thread using the method indicated there. Then, re-flash your stock ROM, and it should restore your stock SPL.

Yes, you should be able to flash the stock SPL 1.90 provided in the HardSPL thread, using the method indicated there, and then re-flash your stock ROM, and it should restore your 1.69 SPL.

i believe you misunderstood his question. he's asking which SPL should he download given that he got his phone in malaysia
i believe that it should be the asia-singtel one. i'm in singapore, and that is the rom that was recently released for our devices. so my guess would be the singtel spl.
Due to display flickering issue which is worse and worse from day to day. I decided to restore stock rom for my T-Mobile MDA Vario IV to make a complain.
My device is Security Unlocked, with different Radio and ROM so i would like to know if my steps for reverting is ok. I do not want to make my device bricked!!
I have EXE file with ROM from T-Mobile www which includes all like SPL, RADIO, ROM etc.
So my conclusion what i have read is that i have to:
1) restore stock Radio
2) remove security lock
3) remove Hard-SPL
4) flash stock ROM from EXE file i have already downloaded. It will overwrite 1.90 SPL to 1.69 which was my default and overwrite ROM too.
Can anyone experienced with this stuff tell me if i am right? thank a lot.
With the steps you have listed you will be good to go. Just follow your steps and you are good.

I am not a noob i have read this many times, so i know what is the "official" routine. But this (official) routine was, i think made, for people who had no choice (as me with original exe) and they had to dump their ROM first, and than reconstruct part by part. And because the dumped ROM will never be CID safe, they had this tutorial 1. Radio, 2. OS, 3. SPL and it rally does make sense for me.
But i am lucky, because my operator (T-Mobile) shipped the device with EXE, which contains all the stuff (Radio, SPL, OS, RUU) and it is directly for my CID. So that is why i think my tutorial in the first post will work. And i think it should work though if i only remove Security unlock and Hard-SPL. Because it will overwrite all partitions in device even restored Radio, OS etc.
So am i right ?
your right and to save you step dont worry bout radio removal since its in the stock rom pack like u said just load the 1.90 for warrenty in the hard spl thread and relock your phone as an extra precation(some carriers care some dont) the run the exe and ure golden
ps. PimBackup is your friend (just in case u forgot)

Dear not a noob,
You asked a question, and you were given the "official" routine. If you knew the "official" routine, and you were going to do it your way anyway, it kinda makes your question unnecessary. I remind you that you are not the only person who reads these forums. In fact more than a hundred have read this thread. Some of these people "noobs" or not may want to know the "official" routine.
I personally don't care what you do or where you put your phone. But if anyone reading this thread follows the official routine they will not have any problems.
I understand why people don't like answering questions in these forums. No good deed etc etc......

Dear Ray,
you did not understand my question. That is all that i can say about it. I know about official routine to restoring stock defaults, but i was asking if my routine could lead me to same result. Because as from what i have learned in this forum this routine should lead me to the same result more easier way because i have RUU with stock ROM direct for my CID.
Your way i have to first extract nbh image from exe. Second i have to extract each nb from nbh. Third i have to make nbh from each nb, radio is not necessary, because it is already here. And for fourth my SPL is 1.69.0000 which is different from SPL contained in the Hard-SPL removing pack and it does not work for me just to replace the SPLs. And until now i did not find out why. Someone few months ago told me that i can use the SPL from Hard-SPL removing pack (1.90.0000 i think) and then overwrite it with my stock ROM package, which will restore my stock SPL and Radio, OS again as well. So official routine works for those who had to dump their ROM to backup their stock ROM, those who were not as lucky as me to have stock ROM with RUU for their CID. This procedure, i personaly think is OK, is not covered here on the forum, and that is why i was aking for blessing from someone more involved in this problmes...is it ok now?
PS: anything i can flash after removing Security Lock and Hard-SPL is my stock ROM and that is what i have. So it should work if there are not some any other things which i have missed somewhere!
Tom
bah dont worry bout them crackheads say i can speak from experience that your way work since thats exactly what i did last week only att exe pack and it did overite the 1.90 stock spl, changed to 1.95 in my case, like u say along with the radio and os. only diferance is i never security unlocked my phone sincei was happy with the raphel radios . now im happy with my new(well refurblished ) fuze.
p.s. i had defective screen too incase you were wondering
Everybody play nice
Ok, that being said, since you have the "official" exe from your Carrier, all you really have to do is:
Run the .exe from your Carrier - this will replace the stock Radio, ROM, and boot splash.
Install the warranty stock SPL 1.90 from the Hard-SPL thread (using the Hard-SPL RUU, of course).
Re-run the .exe from your Carrier, which will overwrite the 1.90 SPL with the stock version.
Other methods will likely work too, but IMHO, that's the easiest .

Positive. That's actually how I used to "flash to stock" in between custom ROM flashes.
