1.2 - fix minimum speed on startup bug, oops. sorry for any inconvenience this has caused
1.3 - fixed more bugs people were having (such as slow speed change, etc.).
it seem it can't work properly on my diam100.first,it can not preserve the frequency I seted when I run another program or when I power off for 5mins and turn it on.second,I am not sure the automatic clockcontrol is working.can you add a realtime frequency monitor to this software so that we can verify it was working.really appreciate your dedication.

the processor applet updates the frequency in real time (well, about twice every second). I think someone else was having problems with the DIAM100, my guess is it has DVFM turned on, which can lock the frequency. I'll look into that.

I agree, that can explain why its frequency keep turning back to 528Mhz.thanks for your answer.
Mmmmh unfortunately don't work on my MSM7200 (LG KS20) (I know a crappy phone), it displays current frequency at 0.00mHz.
Too bad but great work!!!

thanks for the quick response. any recommended settings for max battery life? i used nueclock and set that to around 250mhz or so and found no real performance difference. i dont know how to set the new additional settings though.

I kind of think the OP wants you to download from the site linked, rather than posting the cab here.

I've got the same problem on my Diamond...
Still had that with the static tool.
This is a perfect tool...simply one of the most wanted tools..
This and commmanagerpro (CMP) makes it possible to have an almost 75% battery left in the morning... GREAT.
I will go for a donation.
Still need the exe´s as that would make it perfect
BTW. Would like to make a shortut for start but cannot seem to find it - anyone had luck yet?

wow, I this thing works nice and solid, I've seen some pretty serious battery increase.. usually by niow my battery would be at 10% or so, but it's over 60%! hot damn! thanks no2chem, you rock as usual.
it sounds great, would try on my new Asus P835 ! thanks !
my phone locked up pretty hard tonight, not sure what happened, but I've never had this before, so it could be the dynamic clock, but I dunno.

update again: I uploaded the wrong cab, if you download 1.1 and it said 1.0 - you got the wrong version, please download again. thanks!
GSM now supported! Please let me know how this affects your battery life. Note that Device Information always displays 528.0 MHz/400MHz, so you should use nueClockControl to gauge your current device frequency. I'm also told HomeScreen++ and other apps give improper readings as well.
update: now supports msm7500/msm7200 non-A parts:
CDMA Touch Pro (Herman)
CDMA Diamond (Victor)
CDMA Titan (Mogul)
CDMA Vogue
GSM Touch Pro (Raphael)
GSM Diamond (Diamond)
GSM Touch HD (Blackstone)
GSM Kaiser
Probably will work fine with the Touch Pro 2 / Diamond 2 /// i.e. rhodium, but obviously I haven't been able to test that yet =).
this is a great idea. Would love to see this thing morph into a dynamic underclocking utility, that would switch to full-speed when demanding apps are running, but underclocked when idle or running less-demanding apps.
I'm goning to try it.
Thanks
Program does not work on my Vogue. It installs perfectly, but when I click the icon to launch the program, nothing happens. I'm using NFSFAN's 6.5 V6 ROM.
I just tested it on my fuze. I set the clock @ 384 and then measured the speed w/ Core player 4-5 times, and they all came in @ 380 or so. Very cool!
tested on polaris and i can confirm that its not working, even not starting.

2. no2chem told, it was tested on on a kaiser.

i would offer my device for testing purposes. just hit me a pm
Thanks, programm working for me running a Touch Diamond =)
Great on my Sprint Touch Pro! Now my device doesn't contribute to global warming lol
very cool. works on my diamond.. and i even benchmarked using core player.
few things tho.
- does it survive a soft reset?
- does it have a direct effect on the gpu?

That seems like a good thing to me, if things get too bogged down at a lower clock rate (I actually tested this morning to see if it survived a hard reset and it doesn't, lol). Have you actually run the clock at 19.2 MHz, and does that make things crazy slow? It seems pretty extreme. I'd probably like it more if that wasn't the default that shows on the drop-down menu; it could be real easy to accidentally set it there (that was why I tested the hard reset, I didn't want to make some chip-level change that couldn't be fixed if I screwed up).
Anyway, I like it a lot. My old Asus pda had a power-saving mode that seemed to work. I'd use it on long flights to save power. I could usually get away with reading and listening to music using the power save mode. Thanks!

I ran it at 19mhz! It took 5 minutes to access the Start Menu so that I could increase the clock speed back to normal! lol . Now we just need to be able to increase the clock speed
I have 2 questions.
1. Has anyone been able to confirm whether or not this has any positive/negative affect on the battery life of the device it's being used on?
2. In the future, what are the chances this app supports and successfully overclocks our CPUs?
I did test this for a few minutes but I am a speed demon and personally don't like the idea of underclocking unless it can be scaled to underclock(to the desired speed) and then back to the normal(or overclocked) speed when you begin to use the device again.
Having a scaling CPU would be very nice because you would scale it back to say... 300mhz when idle and then overclock it to say... 600mhz when in use. This would balance itself out because in theory, you would save more power when idle if running at a slower clock speed and then use more power when in use so it should be a even trade off.
I'm bookmarking this thread and will be following it as it goes because I'm really interested in just what this app can do.
Now that the X10 is rooted, anyone install SetCPU yet. And if so is it fully functional?

if decrease the clock speed to the max of 600mhz,will it save more power?
yeah tried as well and the max is 993mhz. weird

Well, I just leave it set to "ondemand", so that way it will automatically adjust the speed as needed (Max: 998MHz, Min: 245MHz). My max is 998MHz.
what firmware we can use? which is highly recommended? R2BA026?
SetCpu and more, can we use Juice defender to increase autonomy

you know the phone does that anyway right?
I don't speak French so I can't comment on that but I've been using SetCPU since the 020 root and it SEEMS to work alright. Sometimes when I open it, it says something about failing but then it works OK.
I'm currently on R2BA026 rooted and it works for me. I also use JuiceDefender but to be honest I'm getting more and more convinced that's not helping any more. JuicePlotter in particular is struggling and keeps stalling, with gaps in the graph frequently, not sure why but that's not relevant to this thread so I'll leave that.
But I do NOT use it to overclock and would not recommend that! For a start, it would cane the battery. Rather, I use it to "throttle" the CPU speed. I think that's what most of us use it for. E.g. when the screen is off, it stops the CPU working too hard (and thus saves battery). Also when power is running low, CPU is throttled to save it. By throttled I mean "restricted to 245Mhz".
It's free to XDA members because the dev kindly put it up here somewhere for download - if you're looking for "how that works" on the Market, stop now because that's not how it works! The Market doesn't give you a discount for being on XDA.
Just search for it on here, or wait for someone who has used it to point you in the right direction. I'd search for it for you but I'm about to head out.

I've used SetCPU for a few weeks and now I've been using my X10 without SetCPU for a few weeks and I've noticed zero difference in power consumption.
I'm guessing Android does a fine job itself at downclocking the CPU when it doesn't have to do heavy tasks.

2- How to maximize battery consumption!?! It's barely holding 15hrs of minimal use!!! Wiped the battstats and didn't have so much improvement!
Any help is appreciated!
3- I need arabic support for the phone! Does somebody have it working?!? Where can i find libs, frameworks...?!

Ok, this is the solution to about half of your problems .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263#td_post_81
And let's see if I can answer those questions!
1. It does not work, at least the one in the market... It's for the nexus one, there is a ported version for the vibrant too, but I'm not sure if it will work either. Anyway, it's a bit of a stupid program, go buy System Panel.
2. It is more about running proceses than anything. Best app you could download to see what is running wildly, System Panel (and yes, pay for it), or just take some other task killer, like Advanced Task Killer, and see what runs without you wanting too. You should uninstall that crap. Start with Timescape. That app is truly pure crap.
Ah, also, put the widget Power Control (which come included) and try to keep everything deactivated as long as you can. Each of those things SWALLOW battery, more than eat. Put APNdroid, and keep internet deactivated too. Download Setcpu (it's free in this forum) and put the minimum Hz to 128 (the minimum you can put).
What else... eliminate all the SE **** you can and whenever you are not using the phone, kill all the running apps with Advanced Task Killer. Or you can use Autokiller, didn't work for me.
Put a battery percentage icon too. You will notice when something is eating your battery with it. If you don't want a theme, use Battery Indicator.
3. Sorry, don't know what the hell I could use that for. Open a thread for this.
EDIT: looked att your profiel, and man, you are no noob, why the hell are you asking how to improve your battery? It is a standard, androids consume if you let them, nothing else. If you really need battery, underclock it with setcpu and problem solved.

First of all thanks for your reply!
About current consumption I'll try also "battery monitor widget" to see if it works!
Man i asked those bcz i'm not a perfect noob (we all are noobs at some point); i'm concentrating my efforts on my HD2 and i dont have so much time for this X10 minipro; so i asked bcz maybe there is some kind of a trick or a known bud/problem that may decrease battery consumption!
About downclocking, my own experience (and many others) shows that it doesn't affect battery much (barely 5 to 10% so it's not worth it) and besides it introduces instabilities so i prefer not to tweak anything about CPU.
However i thank for re-introducing the autokiller memory to my mind bcz i completely forgot it although i'm using it on my HD2!!! hahaha
Oh, no problem then, dude ^^ mm downclocking does work for me, i believe :/ anyway, the best memory optimizer is autokiller, trust me in that see you around!!

To me the name this thread looked as if you´ve found a piece of software which solves these three problems.
Just to address your battery problem - no there is no solution unless you cut off data transmission or use GPRS instead of 3G. 15 hours is decent time.
Can´t say anything about Arabic, though.

Thanks bro will try it!
OK, I have written an app to attempt and stop call wonkyness on CM7 builds. Specifically the phone locking up when making and receiving calls.
It's my observation that it's the mic that causes the phone to lock up and so this app opens and closes the mic every minute to keep it "fresh". It's a long shot, but I can't seem to duplicate wonkyness with it enabled so I'm posting it for other to try.
Now after a few positive comments to help boost my confidence in the app, I've made it's own thread to make it easy to track comments.
Just install and run (or just reboot as it auto-start on boot). To disable, uninstall it.
Please post your results!
Change Log:
Version 1.4
Made service more persistent by adding notification bar. Turns out, Android was killing off the service when memory was running low causing wonk to surface.
Version 1.3
Can only be installed on internal memory. Needed to make sure the service can started up on boot. (Thanks to mjukis for pointing this out)
Version 1.2
Only dewonkificates when screen is off to avoid conflicts with any apps you may be using.
Removed debug logging
[Post edited because the wonkyness is still there and this .apk works fine to fix it]
Dude.... As best as I can tell in 20 minutes' time, this damn thing seems to actually work! Gotta tell ya how skeptical I was....but I'm pretty flippin' pleased right now!
Good looking out!!
Much appreciated for this app.
While it's still too early to say it's 100% working, so far so good.
I have had the wonk since build 3 to 23 (except for 16).
I will keep testing and report back often.
That's great news and I'm happy that it looks like it's working for people. I was on the edge of rolling back and this was a desperate attempt to fix it.
Agree with the op. Can't say for sure its the miracle I've been waiting for... but 4 calls in (admittedly 2 from myself, ) no wonks. When I'd expect all to be wonky
If this 'wonklessisity' continues you will surely become supreme ruler of xda!
Will report back soon.

What are your thoughts and battery impact?....and would some timeframe greater or less than 1 min. factor in??
Does this fix it?

Currently I can't see any measurable battery drain. Dewonkificator doesn't even show on the About phone->Battery use screen. Increasing the time between dewonkification might be work, but since battery doesn't seem to be a issue and we don't know what the source of the problem is I don't think its worth risking or investigating.
I also believe it have something to do with the mic, since all apps that use it have the same freeze, and it seems to work for me. Thanks

Seems reasonable enough, to me.

Maybe watchdog would be a better app for checking. Would give us a better idea of CPU use. Also juice plotter may help see prior and after install battery consumption
I've tested it,and havent got any wongkiness for today. I think its working...

gracias!
You deserve an E-Cookie for coming up with such an awesome name
Wonky just visited me when my wife called. Installed your dewonky app for testing.
Thanks.
This bug is the reason I got off CM7 nightlies, so damn annoying. Maybe this is a Gingerbread thing rather than a Nexus S problem cause the Nexus S is supposed to be rebooting itself while in calls as I'm sure everyone knows.
OK guys...so I was plagued with this problem like a lot of other people using the g-tab. I tried all of the other fixes like installing a different kernel, keeping wifi and/or cpu alive while sleeping, wiping and re-installing, etc. None of these worked for me like many others. I started experimenting, and I decided that the problem had to be something involving CPU load. I created a profile in SetCPU that reduced the CPU frequency to a minimum value while the screen was off and/or sleeping, and !!! Problem solved. I can turn screen off for a second, a minute or an hour and when I push the power button, the tab wakes immediately. This definitely solved the problem for me, and I would like some feedback as to whether this fixes it for anyone else. As a side-note, I am running the Vegan-GingerBread as advertised (STOCK).
Cheers!!!
what was the profile that you set on set cpu? And did this help the wifi from disconnecting when it sleeps?

In SetCPU I created a profile that was "Screen Off" MAX: 216, MIN:216, and it fixed all of my issues!!!
Try my latest kernel (version9) with no setcpu and let me know how it goes
Question...

KK...will do, and I will let you know!!! Why has GOJIMI not implemented this if it fixes the problems though??? Is this recent?

Yes, just uploaded recently. Lmk how it goes. I also fixed Bluetooth
I hate to keep asking but does your kernal fix the wifi not coming back on from sleep?
Thank you will try it but does that affect the battery strength at all?

I would think that it would only help battery seeing as how you are forcing the CPU down to it's lowest frequency.

Im gonna guess because what may be a "fix" for you is not for everyone. These tabs are tempermental at best and what works on some does not work on others. Demanding a dev include something you think is a fix in his work is kinda arrogant don't you think. If you can do better where is the link to your custom rom?
Moved to Q&A.
What are you talking about?

Did you read the thread? I am not talking about GOJIMI implementing MY fix...go back and actually read. Clemsyn, a VERY reputable g tab dev, has found a universal fix for the issue.
You think so? There is no universal fix for most issues. Clemsyn and pershoot have been battling this issue for months. Gojimi is a VERY reputable g tab dev as well. Along with several other people. What your not getting is that some of these tabs are slightly different enough that what you think is unversal may not be so and demanding one dev include another devs work because you think you know what your talking about is assinine
BTW....some don't have the issue at all and never have.
