Say what there is no SPL 1.25 as far as I knew, try looking for a rom on here and I think you are on about SPL 1.20. better still read up on the athena on the WiKi.

Hi,
I know this has been answered probably but I got confused as most of the posts talk about 7500 or 7510 and SPL 1.2 or something higher.
I have a HTC x7501 with SPL v1.10.0000 and the IPL is v1.00. My radio version is 1.47.51.00 and ROM version is 2.19.453.4. The OS installed is Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
My question is can I upgrade to AP4 rom? Do I have to unlock my device first? It does accept different SIMs now. Is there a step by step instruction to do the AP4 rom upgrade specific to my model?

Hi Rorydaredkign, thanks for you prompt reply. I did look into the thread that you mentioned including other related posts. But I kind of got lost in all the version no. etc. Probably I am too new to try these things.
Also the link for the Olipro video does not work. Is there another link for this? Am I correct to assume that the unlocking/upgrading is similar for both x7500 and x7501? As the tutorial is for x7500.
I will appreciate any help in this regard.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Good advce from Rory there and also I have given this advice lots of times before and to you no different. please go HERE and read and learn, if you TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ you will learn. Please Please Please do not try to run before you can walk, or your Athena will be Bricked. I have been flashing ROM's for years now and still make the occasional mistake through rushing in to fast. AP 4.0 is a very good ROM but there are better ROM's now in my opinion. When you are READY try one of Michy's ROMs on spl 1.2.

I had downloaded MichyPrima's 6.1 ROM and it was at 93% but it turned off and went to a black and white screen and i looked all over the forums and none of them helped me out,I can't figure out what to do please help me!

I would hazard a guess that you tried to load an SPL 3.5 rom when you had SPL 1.2
If this is the case I would suggest you read the sticky threads and the wiki before asking anything else as it is very painful trying to have things explained that you should have known before you flashed.
In case you don't know you can find your SPL by holding in the camera button and the reset button.
When you do this, you may find the device ID is corrupted as expalained in the sticky threads.

I could of sworn i did a cid with the athena unlocker and trying upgraded to michy 6.1 and follow all the right steps, unless I did something wrong? Can any one help me?

You Must flash with AP4.0 rom before flashing with any other SPL 3.5 rom, so if you were trying to flash with Michy 6.1 SPL3.5 then you have bricked it. BUT if you follow this thread post 33 it will come right.

Hello all. I'm sorta new to xda-developers. I've had a membership for a while just so I can download apps but have never really read through the forum.
Today, I found out about ROMs. I have a Cingular 8525 with WM5 on it. Is it really possible to upgrade it to WM6 with a ROM?! I've been trying to figure it all out by reading the wiki and such but it just seems like wm5 to wm6 is such an enhancement, you would have to pay money for it!
Please, someone either encourage me or completely smash my hopes.

Before you upgrade, PLEASE, read a bit. Rushing in is a sure fire way to brick your Hermes. You need to Hard SPL your Hermes first to give you a measure of protection if something goes wrong with the flash. You can get Hard SPL V7 from the upgrading section, use search to find, its also a sticky on the upgrading section.Your SPL should be SPL 2.10 oli for safety.

Hi kingmob,
Yes you can flash AP4 to get spl 3.5 , but I would suggest you experiment first flashing the spl 1.2 roms to get some experience as sometimes the ap4 upgrade goes a bit awry.
