Hey guys, i have just got for a few days an O2 XDA Mini S and its great i have put a wm 6.5 rom on it everything perfect but my ipl and spl are 2.21.0001 and i want to know if it is an upgrade for them and where do i find i have search the entire forum for those and i heard thing like the latest is 3.2 or 3.8 and even if my ipl and spl are 2.21 i found a radio upgrade for g4 to 3.2 and my radio now is 3.2 and works great... and i want to ask help of you all to help me and all users of g4 for them to find fast a list of ipl/spl upgrades and radio upgrades. Another thing - flashing. There is nowhere explained in the Prophet section how to upgrade a G4 ROM. My PDA has AKU 2.0, which really pi**es me off, 'cause I've been using BlueAngel with AKU 3.5 for a while... 2.0 boots a HELL long, does some strange things I do not understand :/
As far as I understand, to upgrade my Prophet ROM I need a G4 ROM with compatible CID (unless my PDA has no CID-lock, but I do not know how to test this...). How and where from can I get the correct ROM? My bootscreen details:

Ahm ... you dont need to unlook your G4, to Upgrade the OS with Smart1 or other Firmware ;-)
I have a locked G4 and all Firmwares work if you upgrade without IPL/SPL!!!

First you need to remove 'HardSPL',revert back to official carrier's IPL/SPL and then flash back the official carrier's rom,follow the link below for complete guidance:-

Hi everybody.
I'm about to upgrade my O2 XDA G4 from WM5 to WM6. I bought this neo on ebay and I don't know if it has already been HardSPled. Is there any chance to know - or - can the HardSPL procedure run again without creating problems?
Are the Radio, the IPL and SPL upgraded as well using one of the last WM6 rom or they should be upgraded manually? Do you recommend to upgrade also IPL/SPL/Radio?

The way to tell if it has been HardSPLed is to see the SPL number.
if it is 2.G3.4PDA or 2.G4.4PDA it has been hard SPLed if not, you will need to do it.
Generally, radio ROMs and IPL/SPL are best left alone (other than SPL for HardSPL).

The numbers themselves (2.G4.4PDA) are meaningless... I think it is 2 (the SPL version) G4 (the device version) 4PDA (sounds like "for PDA").
You will need to HardSPL first, using G4 HardSPL as your device is a G4, then you can flash a ROM.

Hi All I'm a Newbie today. I hope this is the correct place to ask this question, if not I'm sorry.
I have recently un-locked my XDA I from O2 and now able to use it on Orange. I upgraded the OS to XDA-Developers Special Edition 1.2.
What are the benefits of upgrading the RS from 4.08 to say 4.16 or 4.21.
Model PW10A1
Bootloader 5.15
Radio Ver. 4.08
Original Rom 3.14.13 Eng
Some people report a better receipient with a newer radio stack.
If you do not have any trouble leave it as it is. There have been a few reports that their wallaby ended as brick after trying to upgrade the radio stack.

Yes, I have a G4 and have tried Both the CR86 and XDA2 ROMs.
These days nobody is including IPL/SPL in their builds, for just this reason (most of the working Wizards are now G4s, I suspect).
Just cruise the Wizard Mobile 6 boards and read up on each ROM. Try several. Remember to flash back to default ROM between home-cooked ROMs to prevent Extended ROM corruption.

What do you mean? Like, flash back to the original ROM on the Wizard from like T-Mobile and then flask to the new ROM?
This whole time I've just been flashing from ROM to ROM. How would you know if there's Extended ROM corruption?
I don't do this and nothing bad happend... I'm using softSPL.
