Sorry for posting such basic help request. Its my first time to do anything with the pda upgrade. Though I read several threads but without much success.
My phone is HTC TOUCH DUAL chinese NIKE version which I am trying to convert to english.
I am stuck at the bootloader and my ROM update gives a connection error now and screen shows RED, GREEN, BLUE, WHITE strap with bootloader info:

I was trying to change my new HTC TOUCH DUAL from chinese to english ROM by running ROMUpdateUtility.exe from "flash-uspl-niki".

Hi guys....
i'm sorry as i need to post a new tread....i have a problem with my orange m3100 when flashing my radio in process to upgrade window mobile 6 lvsw....i did upgrade my other m3100 and it was success...but i dont know why another one failed....now it stuck in tri color mode....i've being reading all the post regarding howto unbrick it but none of it solve my problem....i really hope that somebody could help me....thanks

When i reset it still appear to tri color screen....i can read HERM100 with IPL 1.04(in white text) and HERM100 with SPL 2.10 Olipro(in yellow color text....so which one that currently running on pda?

It's long, I admit, but if you did you would not be posting this now! However, knowing how anxious you must be by now, follow the steps below (which have been posted before in the unlocker thread).
Get one of the ROMs in this link and extract it

Get your device into bootloader (the three-colour screen; BTW it is Camera+Volume+Reset)
Connect it to PC (the SERIAL on the screen will change to USB)
Hit the ROM Upgrade Utility and upgrade your device.
When you finish, configure your device.
Then continue with the Unlocker, to the end.
(Always check first what you might need to do in case it goes wrong).

I had the same problem
you have to put the 7500 in Bootloader mode ( Reset+Camera button).
And then Flash a Rom

I had a WM6 Rom, pre-release, one of the Self Made available here ... I do not remember which one of the versions ...
I wanted to put the official WM6 rom, so this morning I downloaded and I tried to install it.
The installation started with my Tytn connected, the Tytn screen switched to HERM IPL-1.00 and the Red, Green, Blue, White Stripes ... and the installation continued.
Then I received a connection error from the Program ...
Now my Tytn is stuck on the "Stripes" Screen and even removing the battery and resetting ... the Stripes screen is always there ...
Any Clue ?

Recovered my Tytn: I was in this case

Diagnostic Solution: Stuck in bootloader after flash Mtty: "set 14 0" and "task 8" if doesn't help flash OS.nb again.
With those magic command, my Tytn restarted and booted !!!

I tried to upgrade to WM6 it failed at 99% with error message (ERROR 302 - UPDATE ERROR).
All I was seeing was boodloader screen (Green, blue, red) for a while. Then my phone totaly went dead and now it won't even charge (not sure if I need to buy new battery or what).
If by buying new batter I get the bootloader screen. The best bet for me at this point will be to flash back to WM5 ROM. I found below link (reading previous posts) but that link doesn't work.

Can anyone please point me to a URL/FTP site etc where I can find the WM5 ROM (cigular).

A little more searching will get you allot farther don’t take it personal it’s just frustrating to see so many posts for something that even I linked in the past 30 days.

I just flashed my HTC 7500 with SPL 1.2 by installing AthenaWrapper which went through successfully. After upgradation , I flashed the ROM with SPL3.5_R6.5_B3_WM6.5_B21198.rar which also got installed successfully with no errors at all. However after installation , when the HTC was starting , it is just stuck at white screen and does not go ahead at all. I have tried all things including hard reset , but the phone does not come out of the white screen.
Can someone please help URGENTLY ? have I missed something during the installation ? How can I get the unit to boot atleast . In the bootloader screen , the SPL does show as 1.2.
Kindly help please ???

Hi there,
You have answered your own question. you up graded to spl1.2 and then flashed with an spl3.5 rom. you should have flashed an spl 1.2 rom. To use an spl 3.5 rom you need to upgrade again with AP4.0 rom that has the upgrade built in. there is no other way of doing it.
Now you will have to fix your athena with THIS HELPread from post 33onwards, and please read the athena WIKI.

Thanks for your quick reply. How do I get the Athena connected to my PC now ? I can't connect it through Activesync as it does not boot and is in white screen. Also I tried to put it in boot loader mode and then run the updater.exe but it displays a 'Timeout message ' whether the device is coonected and that Active sync is running ?
Can I install 1.2 ROM if that's possible ? If yes , can you let me know which ROM with SPL 1.2 ver can work ? I am just worried now as my Athena may be completely dead and I can't use it.

Guess what!
You are not the first person to make the mistake you have made and it is documented in several places.
Jay pointed you to the specific post that will fix your problem but he also mentioned you should read the wiki.
i will add to this that you should also read the sticky threads at the top of this forum which include "the beginners guide to upgrading the ROM"
and another thread titled "How to FIX INVALID MODEL ID after bad flashing"
You have corrupted the radio by trying to flash an SPL3.5 ROM onto a phone formatted for SPL1.2.
These roms are different sizes and it wont fit, leading to the unintended consequence.
As I said in the beginners guide , you can flash from bootloader(the 3 coloured screen"
I hope all new owners read this thread and the others I mentioned as it will help prevent the angst you are feeling.

Absolutely brilliant !!
My Athena is breathing again and is out of the dead white screen. I followed the steps to fix the model id and wifi (from CMonex ) and was able to overwrite the model id successfully. I then flashed it with ROM WM6.1 MULTILANG R6.1 MiChY which also got installed successfully. On bootloader screen it now shows as:
ATHE100
IPL-v1.00
ATHE100
SPL-v1.20.Olipro

I just want to know now which is the best stable SPL1.2 ROM now which i can install. I want to install 1.2 ROM with HTC Plugin and the big Digital clock and also which will have GPS. My previous ROM had QuickGPS which doesn't seem to be there now and is there way I could get it back. How can I use GPS on Athena.
Apologies as this device is completely new to me i am still getting used to its functions by reading lot of articles and WIKI for this model.
I am scared to put SPL3.5 as I might break something again. My donation is on its way.

Just update to the 3.5 spl much much easier that way instead of waiting for anyone to backport their stuff to the 1.2 spl
