Manage SMS on device - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus ROM Development

hi guys,
I tried to find out if there is a free solution to manage SMS on the device.
I have 400 SMS sitting in my Inbox and want to sort them now.
Therefore I would need some software to manage the in the device using my pc. May be some of you have an idea for a good soultion.
I have looked at Jeyo tools but the last time I used it it did not really work well plus it is not for free.
Does anybody know a good free solution or a workaround using some other software (like doing backup --> sort out on pc --> restore sorted folders).
thanks for the help

PC SMS Software

Does anyone know of some software that will send sms on my pc through my xda when it is in the sync cradle?
Cheers
Jas
I don't know about sending through your xda but just send an email to the phone number @mobile.att.net or @tmomail.net
i.e [email protected]
Att and Tmobile are the only sms gateways I know. I'm sure they all have one though. - Jim
There is a new product called CoolSMS (or is it SMS Cool???). I saw it last week on Handango.
I've tried it, it works in that u can sync the sms in your inbox and type the SMS on your PC and sent it through the O2. But as most 1.0 version there a few quirks, especially that the editor to type the SMS on your PC is buggy.
cool! could you send me that coolsms or sms cool.
Cheers
Jas
it is a commercial program
what does that mean?
that you have to pay for it then you get a seriel number which unlock the program
not all programs for pda are free
of cause like pc programs one can often get hold of commercial programs without paying but it's illegal
here is the link to the review of the tool and you can download a trial version
http://msmobiles.com/article.php/59.html
do you know where i can get it with out paying
nop sorry
nor would i advise you to ask too much about such things in the forum
because i think that the mods can be held responsible for warez in forums
which may mean that they delete this thread or ban you or something
maybe you can find some evil opposite of elvis who knows who knows
ok cheers bud
There is a way to do this with a free software. Download & install the free Remote Display Control application from MS. You can find it at :
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/default.mspx
This application is similar to PcAnywhere. You see your XDA screen on your PC while the XDA is connected to your PC via ActiveSync. Simply navigate to your SMS Inbox and create and send the message. Presto!
Hope this helps.

This is a great tip and thanks for posting it but $9.99 isn't a bad price for such a Cool program. 8)
Qman, thanks. I must admit having seen this posted somewhere earlier on so much as I'd like to I can't claim credit for the idea!
I agree with you in the price of CoolSMS being reasonable at $9.99, especially if it allows one to compose SMS while the XDA is not yet connected to ActiveSync to be sent at the next ActiveSync. This is one thing you can't do with the solution I posted.

How do I back up text messages from HD2?

Hi!
Can anyone help to suggest an easy way of backing up the text messages from my HTC HD2 to PC, I have loads of jokes that just have to be kept!!
On my last phone I forwarded the texts to my e-mail address but this was not only slow but cost me a fortune cos they went as MMS instead of simple texts.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you just want to back it up, you can use PIMBACKUP and just transfer the file to your your PC. However, if you wish to see the txt on ur PC also, you may want to use programs like SMS Cool or freeware like SMSSyncUP.
the myphone app works quite well for texts, contacts and documents mate

I don't deny the use of MyPhone but the OP asked for something which can be seen on PC if I am not mistaken and I guess in that case PIMBackup or Myphone doesn't help, do they?

MyPhone has a web interface where you can manage and view your synchronized content.

I use SPBBackup works well for me.

Backup app/utility, and gprofile.

Hi, I new to the android platform, but I am a longtime xda user. But I did spend most of my time at ppcgeeks. I'm coming from the pro2 and the titan before that, and both were on winmo.
So here is what I am looking for, I want a spb backup type of app to save all my programs, user info and the like. I would also like a gprofile type of app also. I'm kind of nervous about rooting until I can backup the things I have downloaded and the username/passwords I have saved.
I have searched through the market and google for both of these and couldn't find anything on either of these. I have found everything else I needed, it is just these two that I can't find. Maybe I was searching for the wrong terms or something, so any help would be appreciated.
One last thing, does anybody have any recommendations for websites that stream tv that work with our phones. I can't get atdhe or Justin.tv either one to work. And of course my Hava product doesn't have a working android app. Being the avid college football fan that I am, I need to find a good solution for this too.
Thanks for any and all help
Brandon.
Titanium backup will save your apps and app data system settings Bluetooth and wifi conections and stuff but you need to be rooted to use it.
Sms backup an a restore will back up and restore your text and you don't need root access.
Google backs up you r system setting s and wallpaper if you allow it. It will also redownload you r apps but not the data you had with them.
This all gets restored when you sign in your google account.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Thanks man for the answer. I was beginning to think no one had any answers to help me with.

Btw i have searched for this for more then an hour so if the answere is already given on the site i applogize.
why not just use one of the many backup programs available such as titanium?
Thanks a lot didnt knew there was a program for that...
For Root use Titanium with SU permission. Works amazing. Just do a batch backup with all apps and data.

[Q] I need my data...

Hello, everybody.
I own a Nokia Lumia 800 running Windows Phone 7.8. The text messages on my phone are very very much valuable to me, and I will do anything to take a backup of them, anything, even breaking down the phone.
I searched a lot to find a way to do it by software, but it seems that no way is available. And I tried to find a way to open my phone and somehow access its storage, but haven't found any way yet...
Can anyone here help me do so, or show me a path towards finding a way?
