Topaz car cradle horizontal - Touch Diamond2, Pure Accessories

Is it possible to get horizontal car cradle?

It's just an idea... but couldn't u easily rotate nearly any cradle 90° ?
Joking apart I had an easy "fit for all" standart car cradle for my HTC Touch (2 years ago). There u were able to turn the part holding your device 90 degree to the left and right(the part fixed at the windows was unaffected).
Bought at pearl.de a german reseller.

Hi!
All the brodit variants have a swivel that lets you rotate the cradle any way you like.

You will need a ProClip mounting plate as well, all the ProClips is specific for each car make and model.

There is as well a car cradle from Brando that you can rotate.

XDAIIs car kit????

hi everyone
ive just bought myself a XDAIIs pda, ive set up TOMTOM 3 sat nav and have bought a BT TomTom GPS receiver. sat navs working perfectly. but got one BIG problem, i cant find myself a decent car kit. ive tried the Arkon CM531, didnt like it-too many wires and very messy, got carkit with fixed charging through the cig-lighter- did not fit my phone as cradle was for XDAII.
Im really stuck so could anyone please help me. im looking for a car kit which will allow me to slide my xda2s in and out easily, hold it in place and also charge it at the same time whilst its in the cradle.
ANY SUGGESTIONS
Same here ! I could not find anything decent. Any suggestion welcome !

How do you deal with the Arkon RF/speaker interference?
venkie9910,
sorry for repeting my question, but I did not go an aswer yet:
I read here that it was unacceptable...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13654&start=0
how do you deal with it?
Thanks,
Chris
I got the brodit one from handnav with a pro-clip and it fits perfectly and looks good (once you've removed the tacky brodit sticker). Only problem is that the hard-wired version isn't available for the PDA2K yet and the cost! A bundle including the clip, holder and charger set me back £70, but you pay for what you get.
Hard wired one is now available with or without gps ps2 port, I have just ordered one with gps, cost £59.99 plus p+p, the pro clip for fitting to the dash cost £15.99. hopefully it will arrive next week
Hi all, I have this Bordit 849582 for sale: http://w3.easytrade.net/brodit_shop/product.dip?item=1225583&fid=1225727
Just buy yourself a Rikaline GPS mouse . Attach it in your car and slide your Qtek 2020 into the cradle and start navigating!
Interesting? Mail me or just reply!
I think people hurry into buying a bluetooth GPS which leaves them with only a hardwired option for in-car. (some exceptions with multiple bluetooth capability) I prefer the inverse combination. If you're using your nav software you need to see your phone so its going to be in a cradle anyway. If you just pop down the shops you can leave your phone in your pocket and your bluetooth carkit still works.
I'd go for a cradle with GPS built in, or a connector for extrnal GPS. Preferably powered (battery hungry these PDAs!) then BT carkit.
But be careful with carkit choice. Some have the awful echo problem. Can't add much more than that except that an M2000 and Nokia CK-7W is NOT a good combination :-(
There is a decent carkit coming that supports talk function and wired GPS. It is already available for the 2020 and its coming for the 9090. It`s based on a CMPC Carcomm cradle. If everything goes right it should be released next week. I will buy it definatly and will keep everybody posted.

Cheap and Effective Magnetic Mount
Hi,
how about trying a magnetic mount?
http://www.tangshop.com/magnetic-cell-phone-holder.html
Cheap, effective and neat (inconspicuous), but you have to stick the metallic mounting plate onto the back of your PDA (somewhere in the middle, preferably on the battery). Fortunately, the sticky pads are from 3M so they are strong and the residue can be removed with normal dabbing of scotch tape. The metal plate is thin so it does not affect the fitting to existing casings.
The part that sticks to the dash is using the same adhesive too.
I've tried this with a Bluetooth GPS and the XDA IIs on the dash, and the magnet is strong enough to hold the PDA in place even through fast corners and bumps ...
Cheers,
David
Another option is from this company:
http://www.thb.de
However I couldn't find a picture of the cradle.
I have however seen the cradle in the flesh and is it very very nice... even has DSP processing for the handsfree.
It is very pricey though.
Forgot to also add this link.... has a few pictures

I do not know if they have one for the tom tom as I do not know what a tom tom is, but ProClipUSA.com has some great PDA holders for the iMate PDA 2K

Hi Guys,
Had a lot of questions regarding the Brodit holders for the network carrier variants of the HTC TyTn, and what the Brodit TyTn holders fit:
the range for the HTC TyTn fit the folowing devices:
HTC Hermes - SPV M3100, MDA Vario II, HTC TyTN, XDA Trion, Dopod 838 Pro, i-mate JASJAM and Dopod CHT 9000.
At present we only have the holders available by Brodit listed under the HTC TyTn name, but if yours is one of the above, then the TyTn holders on www.dsldevelopments.com should fit!
Hope that helps all,
Cheers,
How do you put the tytn in the horizontal holder? Does it just slide down? Do you have to connect the cable manually? Is it possible to hook up external speaker/mic with this holder or is it for charging only?

Hi Tony K,
Yes you just slide it down into the holder. Yes you have to place the cable in manually for the Horizontal holders (codes ending in ***961) the Portrait versions slid in and dock onto the usb connector (codes ending ***960)
As with all USB devices from HTC it only charges, you need a bluetooth carkit like a parrot kit to get the full benefits of a phone kit in your car, ie additinal mic and audio out through your speakers,
Many Thanks
Bryson
I use the vertical brodit holder with plug for lighter connector. It works great and holds the Tytn securly in place.

Car holder for the touch hd?

Has anybody seen a car holder for the HTC Touch HD? Not the univeral ones which fit for a lot of different devices. I mean holders like the ones from Richter or Brodit.
I couldn't find any touch hd specific ... looks like these vendors are slow with expending their product portfolio!
As usual for every new phone, i order the Herbert Richter product

Hi there,
The holders for our Touch HD's have arrived at the Brodit-site:
http://www.brodit.com/?main=searchb...owModell=D0B8AFF1-0D4C-403F-AF24-7CBF0151CE61
I don't know about other countries/suppliers, but in the neterlands, www.pdaplus.nl says the will have them in 1-2 weeks...
Well spotted Nooky, not even on their news page yet! This is the one I have been waiting for. Any UK suppliers yet?
Can you also use this holder in landscape mode?

DSL Developments, http://www.dsldevelopments.com/. Very helpful and now have them available to order. How soon they'll ship them, no idea.
They also offer a 3-in-1, with:
- Mini USB for charging
- 3,5 mm audion for sound out
- HTC Ext USB for original headset
Surely, if it only attaches to ExtUSB the 3.5mm and the ExtUSB for headset won't work? Connecting a HTC Headset from Polaris certainly fails on HD ExtUSB...

Hi,
Brodit relesed their holder series for Touch HD.

If you buy the "tilt swivel" version; you can.
The opening to slide it in will remain on the short side, so if you tilt the holder 90 degrees the phone is held by the upper and lower side and the left OR right side (with the usb-plug).
I have had several holders from brodit for my HTC phones and the phone is always held so tight (without scratching!) that you won't have to worry that the phone will slide out sideways when in landscape-position.
Anyone used the Brodit Holder with their ProClip Mounting over the vent? I prefer not to drill holes or stick it!
I've used a Brodit Proclip on my last three cars, brilliant fit every time, latest is over the vent. Recommended.

Yes, I normaly use proclip over the vent so that I'll have the phone near to me and in clear view.
Brodit has amazing produts made of very good and solid plastic. Not like some low cost holders that you might find.
But I think it all depends on the car you have. Brodit normaly has several sugestions to place the proclip, so I think they have it for everyone taste.

I've upgraded from a HTC Trinity (which came with Herbert Richter car mount) and this works very well with the Touch HD - it's a slightly tighter fit, but very stable and allows the car charger to fit easily. Thought some people may find this useful at least as a stopgap until the proper Touch HD one is available
Hi,
What about a good holder that attaches to your windscreen? The Brodit ones are all very well but what happens if you are using a different car? Say if you go abroad and get a hire car, will the brodit holder be able to transfer?
the previously mentioned: Herbert Richter car mount uses a sucker. i am trying to decide between that and the brodit. Herbert Richter car mount isnt out yet for the HD.
Do either of them allow you to use it in landscape as well?
You can buy a sucker for the Brodit too if you prefer (or additionally):

...until you want to use another car I suppose.
With my n560 I have been using a Brodit activ holder in combination with a Herbert Richter Mounting device for the window. Therefore you only have to buy an adapter-plate for approximately 5€.

Handy in-car holder information

For those who are looking for a car holder for their TP2 and can't find one yet, I have made a useful discovery.
The Brodit TyTNII Holder actually fits the TP2 better than my TyTNII ever did!
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/holder/HTC+TyTN II-Brodit-Holder.asp
I tried it last night and it slid into the fixing nice and easily.
The only issue I had was that I have an active holder, so the miniUSB connector wasn't lined up and so wouldn't charge the phone. I'm sure with some careful modification it wouldn't be too difficult to sort that out though!
I'm now in two minds as to whether I even bother getting a proper TP2 kit when it's out!

Depends, you can just screw it into your car, but I use the Brodit Proclip which is different for every car. Mine hooks around the side of the radio and into another groove and is very solid, then the holders screw into the proclip.
Proclips are probably the best way forward, no holes in your car
I have a dashmount kit from www.dashmount.co.uk as the proclip from brodit doesn't seem to fit my car correctly.

I have the passive brodit holder for the TYTN II, but TP2 doesn't fit without scrating it.
seems to fit in my origional htc trinity carrier perfectly, only problem is i cant charge it lol so ill have to get a new one eventually
thank you for the tip!!
I have a Brodit Active holder for my old P3600 (Trinity) and it fits real nice...
After some modifications (I cut off the USB part, and super glued it back on at the correct place to fit my TP2) I now have a Brodit Active holder that I can use again!
No scratches what so ever!!
(saves me about €50 )
^Good Tips...Brodit has always been my favorate car holder for all my devices!
do you know when the TP2 model will be released?
thanks
asked brodit and they say later next week...
Brodit holders now available. Just got to wait for them to filter to your resellers now.
Active: http://www.brodit.com/productinformation.jsp?anr=512021&sortiment=null
Passive: http://www.brodit.com/productinformation.jsp?anr=511021&sortiment=null
As I have already said, looks more or less identical to the Kaiser mount with a central support.
A word of warning to people buying, I had 2 active Brodit mounts that killed 2 different Kaisers because the charger unit was dodgy.
In the end I got another replacement from Brodit but I was too cautious of them by then, so I hacked an official HTC car charger into it.
I am personally gonna get the passive holder and use my HTC charger as I'm not going to take the risk again.
The htc supplied trinity/m700 one fits a dream but needs the bottom cutting out a little as the plug socket is in a different location. Damn good sturdy mount as well.
not sure I'll be getting any until it is confirmed that the pins are aligned and the phone does charge when using GPS.
I had issues with the Brodit one for the Kaiser and when it never worked they blamed HTC
Just ordered my passive with tilt swivel now!
Hope it arrives soon!!

Hi, yes I saw those I am leaning more towards the active one though.
Thanks anyway.
Messa
I ordered a passive mount this morning and a new proclip to see if they ship the right one this time!
I'd try and heed my advice about the active mounts. At least wait until some other poor guinea pig has tried one!
I asked HTC This:
Is there an option for the HTC Touch Pro2 with the HTC 3-in-1 connector bundle?
Or is this compatible:
Set A
- 513021 Active Holder, Tilt Swivel
- 945011 Adapter Cable
Set B
- 512021 Active Holder, Tilt Swivel
- 945011 Adapter Cable
In terms of connecting my HTC touch Pro2 to a charging unit (built in the car) and also using the AUX out of the device via the mini-USB.
I want to know if the 3-in-1 cable/connector is able to be “plugged” in into 513021 of 512021
They answered me this:
It will also come a 3-in-1 holder for this device. The item no will be:
519021 short cable
520021 long cable
I hope those will be ready within 2-3 weeks.
One thing that you need to keep in mind with the 3-in-1 cables in that if you plug it in, the external speaker gets disabled. therefore if you're planning on using the mount for satnav, you'll need to hook it up to an aux-in on your car speakers in order to get any sound!

MUST HAVE HTC DIAMOND 2 accessories

It has been over the month for my HTC Diamond 2, I want to get full case for it and do what ever is possible with it to maximize it.
What do you recommend?
I was thinking invisible shield full body. What else would you add to this list?
A mini-usb adapter probably, mini-usb to 3.5mm.
AetieQ is right.. mini adapter is really useful!! i got 1.. how bout capcase??
I think invisible shield by ZAGG is the most important accessories too.I got the full body last month. It is the best case I have ever seen.
Mine would be the hard case or at least a cheap leather case..
this is what i've ordered from amazon few days ago:
Desktop cradle - there are many variations, mostly different in shape. Note that htc cradles cost about triple the time...
Air-vent mount holder - for those that don't like the whole stick of most widescreens .
ZAGG shield - ofcourse.
And a car charger.

That link is for the Touch Diamond cradle, does it fit the TD2 ?
Am using the soft plastic body casings. I used to use the Silicone variants on my HTC touch but they stretch after a while and have to be replaced. They also trap alot of dirt. Just look up HTC Diamond 2 soft plastic cases on ebay, they are inexpensive and are excellent protection. I dropped my BRAND NEW TD2 yesterday and the casing protected the phone, not a ding or dent. That's my must have accessory!

DUH! I didn't notice that
But here's the TD2 version: http://www.amazon.co.uk/iTALKonline...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1253622044&sr=1-4
The car charger reminded me of something...
The other day I was leaving for school and noticed that my battery was almost out. So I remembered that I have a cheap USB-MP3-Stereo in my car so I grabbed the usb-cable from my computer and headed for the car. So I plug the other end on where the usb memory stick is usually in and the other end on my TD2. The phone prompted me on what mode to use so I selected the mass memory. As It turns out, I could recharge my phone at the same time I was blasting the songs on my phone out of the speakers. I was really impressed
My must-have accessories for my new HTC Pure would include the following:
--full body Zagg Skin
--Silicone body skin
--Carrying Case; my preference is a horizontal leather with both clip and belt loops
--Multiple USB to 3.5 mm adapters; keep one in the cars, on the motorcycle, wherever I may find myself. They're cheap and very useful
--Battery charger; either the rechargeable kind or the one that runs off a AAA battery that also doubles as a flashlight. I have both
--Several earphones; same idea as the USB adapters.
I have wired remote yet, just perfect. using my topaz as player without touching and turning the screen off... (using with pocket player)
