Anyone know where I can buy a extra battery for the TP2? I have found a couple in the UK but would rather find a seller in the US.

Is the part# listed above the correct battery for the TP2?
Mine actually says "RHOD160" on the back of it...
I found a 1500mah battery on ebay (item# 250445669999) with a "buy it now" for $8.95.
Anyone have any experience with this "replacement" battery. If so, how does it compare with the original battery which is 1500mah also?
****Update****
I also found this 1500mah battery on ebay (item # 270409538954) with a "buy it now" for $21.99

I stick with genuine batteries now as I had a bad experience with after market batteries. My TyTN2 has issues turning on, and randomly turns off - even after I put the genuine battery back in. It seems the after market battery did some permanent damage.
I recently received some 1500mah batteries for the TP2. I purchased 3 units. I have a friend that will test these batteries before I use it. I will use one for the office, home and the other one will be opened and my friend will inspect the board and cell of battery. He usually takes about a week to do these test so, I will give you a update next week, if possible.
I dont really have a problem with the battery life of the TP2. Its just in case I forget to charge it over the weekend, due to my drunken stupor. Its nice to have a backup battery at home or work.
maybe I'm the only one with short life battery problem on rhodium... but I have to complain... after 3 times I've charged ...the battery dies in the evening.
maybe I must be patience and maybe it will improve after some charging cicle...but for now I'm disappointed.
anybody've seen a better battery on market for TP2?
well... i been an iphone user for a long time..
well since the first gen came out...
i still own an iphone First Gen (2g)
and now i been with the TOuch Pro 2
for about 3 weeks..
i love the TP2...
i did a test.. a little one tho..
i live in NEw YOrk.. in the bronx
i had to go to the JFK airport
in train so it was arround 1 hour and 20 minutes
maybe the trip...
i charged both phones to 100percent...
i was listening to music the WHOLE TRIP with the Iphone
and the TP2 was Idle...
when i got there... my iphone still was 100...
the TP2 was about 91%....
another stuff that i know it drains a little my battery from the TP2
is beejive but i cant live without it, i been trying a lot of methods to
increase my battery, cant see it perform better..
TP2 fully charge in the morning and it dies before 7pm..
just Textin, and some phone calls ( about 3-5 calls )
no website .. if so maybe 1 website .. no emails no push anything...
no bluetooh no wifi...
i ordered an extra battery and a craddle i hope this helps me.
something i figured was that the charging is REALLY FASTTTT....
it can go out 20% in about 15-25minutes of charging
( wall plug ) ... dont try to charge from USB it will take u 200 hours LOL
when i first got it i always charged from usb and used to take me like 8 hours
even more to fully charge it.. but when i tried from the wall plug..is Amazing
how fast it charges..

so what are you saying ? that im just here makin
false statements? well...
i was a big fan of APPLE.. now i really LOVE
my TP2.. and i dont have any reason to be saying
something that is not...
my iphone battery was still 100%...
if u dont believe me then go do it yourself man
im just saying.. the TP2 really have issues with its
battery...
Peace dude.
Not saying that your statement is false or deceiving, just that your iphone battery meter was lying to you.
Clearly the battery level can't be at 100% after 1 hr 20 min of use. The meter must only drop when the battery gets to a certain level. Kinda like when you fill your gas tank and the needle stays on full for the next 50Km.
You must have the 1% increment tweak installed. Notice how a couple of minutes after taking it off charge it drops to 99%. At least this is realistic aye enjoy your TP2.
I found the screen brightness was one of the biggest battery killers. Since I took it off auto adjust and set it to full brightness all the time, the life had significantly decreased.

I don't believe you.. I dare say that because I was a user of iPhone 3G.. battery is hopeless.. I SURELY didn't get that kind of situation.. My wife still has an iPhone 3G.. also can't replicate your kind of situation..
In anycase, I do not believe any mobile phone device, listening to music at >1hr can still be at 100%.. surely the battery reporting driver has gone haywire..
However I'm not saying TP2 doesn't have battery reporting issues. Infact most HTCs I use seem to report battery differently at times.. usually after a soft reset, it shows a different battery status.

It's just about how you use the phone.
I normally get a bit more than 2 days out of one charge, but then I'm calling and writing, surfing and checking EMails every 30 minutes, youtubing and listening to music.
Now I went over my data plan so I disabled the Mail-checking and did not listen to music for a while. The battery now lasts for 3 days with already 60% left.
I would say, one week battery lifetime isn't much of a problem if you don't use the phone's functions in any matter

Anyone bought one of these? Seems cheap - but if it works...
Comparin iPhone 2G with TP2 is not an apple for apple comparison. First compare with the ipHone 3G (Remember how poeple complained their 3G was lasting really less than their 2G and were switching from 3G to 2G to spare battery life ?)
Besides as many underlined the battery meter from iPhone is decieving (The TP2 has issues but less I believe)
In the end my TP2 last rougly 136 hours an I am quite a hevay user. Even if the iPhone last longer (I dont have an iPhone so cant compare both feelings, and my previous remarks come from my friends' experince who own one), the nice point with the TP2 is to be able to replace the battery with another one
wu dudes, well,my tp2 comes in 7 days.... i'll test it and than post here about life batery.... and freeway4you maybe u charge your batery when its not 0%. if you do that the batery is gonna be weak. sorry the english...

Yea i've had that same exact problem today, charged it, went to sleep and i woke up it was almost empty. I went back to the shop and replaced it, i'll see what happens now. Although after doing some research I think that it has to take some cycles to reach full capacity. Good luck bro ...

Hi all, did a search using keyword "batteries" and suprisingly found nothing. Question: Does anyone know of an extended battery that allows you to keep the oem cover? I got a slightly extended for my pro (1800mAh) and it fit great , giving me just enough more juice. My HD arrives this week and I know the battery prolly will have a tough time going a full day. I've seen the usual assortment of super batts that take a custom bulging cover. I'd prefer to avoid the bulge.
Mugen Power makes one but it's been out-of-stock for a while... the easiest solution (at least for me) was to get a second battery.
If it's any consolation, once you go through several charge / deplete cycles with your new battery, you can expect to go through a whole day without much trouble.
Touch HD actually has the best battery life on the PDA market, surpassing even the menacing iPhone by more then 15%!
You can also find very useful apps that will help save the power, such as Lumos, that will automatically adjust your screen brightness depending on ambient lighting. And I can confirm it makes a lot of difference when it comes to battery life.
Also, Mugen sells batteries for HD that have same dimensions as stock battery, but with slightly larger capacity. I bought one for 30$, and I easily go over 3 days with these 2 batteries.
Thanks for the feedback guys. It's great to hear that the HD actually has good battery life using the oem. I know for the first few days or weeks I'll probably be using the crap out of it just because I'll be getting used to it and it will be to awesome to put down I'll see how it goes and maybe check into muygen if they might have something that fits as is, into the back. Really getting hyped about this HD.
You can also consider a power station which slots in the mini usb slot but makes your touch hd longer but you don't get the bulge.

You get approx 2.33x the juice.

Are you satisfied with yours?
I go easily 2-3 days on my HD between recharges and normal usages. A few calls and texts and a spot of internet browsing.
Do you guys watch video's or something to make the battery life so poor?
Well, after using my HD with the oem battery for the past 3 weeks I must say I am very pleasently surprised that it is working very well for me. I can go a full day with usually a bit left over. I am still using it pretty heavily, just because I can't put the dang thing down. Lol. I'm not sure I'd want to pay to much for a 1500mAh as it seems like not enough of an increase in power reserve. I'm happy with the oem.

Never, ever seen 3 days
I ordered a battery from Mugen.
I received it on friday, but the phone will not charge it.
charge light turns on for about 15 sec the shots off.
when looking at the battery status it shows battery unknown.
I have emailed Mugen about this no reply as of yet.

I charged my HD over night two days ago, so now I'm clocking 2.5 days from last recharge, and it's on 50%. Couple of calls and SMS, 10-15 mins of GPRS internet each day and about 20 mins of GPS in Google maps.
That's the way to do it.
I'm on Dutty's 3.7. I make a few calls, send a few sms's, browse the internet a bit and play a bit of freecell most days. Last time I charged up was Thursday morning, yesterday at 2pm it hit 14%.
Maybe you live a a poor reception area? I've noticed my battery life gets very poor if I'm in the middle of nowhere, far from any cell towers.
I usually listen to internet radio and surf to and from work, make a couple of phone calls, have a couple of mail accounts set up. I usually don't run out of battery on a normal day, but if I have to go somewhere special I might listen to internet radio more and surf more and the battery will run out. And if I play any games, Xtrakt or Need for Speed Under Cover, or watch videos I can kiss the battery good bye.
It's a smart phone, so we use it to do all the cool things that a smart phone enables us to do. Sure its gonna drain the battery more and usually it's worth it, but you can fault us for trying to get more out of our devices

yep - been using the 1500mha Mugen for about 2 wks now and it seems pretty good - on avg. get about 10% more charge remaining at the end of the day vs. the stock battery. Work day = a bit of web surfing via HSPDA / GPRS, a bit of gaming, 1hr or so of music and a couple of SMS's and maybe calls. Usually still have around 60% charge around midnight. I do use S2U2 with Suspend Power = ON option.
I've noticed that Windows Mobile phones (in general not just Touch HD) seem to have really poor battery life in areas with poor / no reception - in these areas, it's best to either switch to flight mode OR force GSM only mode on.
Have just bought an Hero 3000mAh battery and larger cover for £14.99 uk (free postage too) for a test. Will report back as to performance since it has just arrived and am in process of charging.
Only downside so far is thicker cover is black, but that is puerly a cosmetic factor and doesn't bother me too much. Am hoping that this will give me better than a days charge with Android 2.1 ROMs.
Am not sure that I can post where I bought the battery from on the Forum as this could be considered spamming. Could someone clarify if I am able to give the link.
I have just purchased one as well after seeing this post, Will hopefully be ok.
Initial impressions of the battery seem to be positive (pun intended). Had a slight worry when battery indicator dropped a single bar within an hour, 20 hours later and indicator is still sat at one bar from full.
Am still on my first charge and expect the battery to reach it's full potential (another pun) after a couple of charges. So far am very pleased with value of this battery and the charge it holds.
Could you maybe post some pics on how thick your hero is with the new battery
does a 3000Ma battery can do a damage to the phone?
if it doesn't, why everyone dont buy it?
Bit difficult for me to take photos at the moment, my camera is mounted up for my work and takes ages to set back up. The battery cover adds about 6mm to the depth of the phone in an area equal to the size of the battery. I actually have big hands and find it more comfortable to hold than the standard cover.

3000mAh is the capacity of the battery it should run for longer, not the voltage supplied so no damage should occur. The problem comes with quality control on aftermarket batteries, they can be of lower capacity than a standard battery, despite claims of a higher capacity.
There have also been cases of aftermarket batteries overheating and expoding, it is rare but can happen. I bought the battery as an experiment to see if it lived up to the claims and am prepared to take the small risk of serious hazards with the battery. In the end it's down to paying for a name and strict quality control, Kellogs Cornflakes or Unbranded Breakfast Crunchies.
The large capacity battery's make your phone fat and ugly
I rather work with 20 hours of total battery life with a beautiful piece of kit, then to run 40 hours with an ugly 80's looking fatso.

One thing I have noticed about charging this battery, is that the indicator will show battery as fully charged. I found that giving an extra hour after fully charged is shown will give a much better charge. So far the battery will give a good 36Hrs with Wifi continually on, haven't tried it with WiFi off for a long period, so far about 12hrs and it is still showing fully charged.
Thanks 13...
this was really helpful... i will go ahead and buy one
Has this battery worked good for you guys? No problems? I kind of need a bigger battery for the times I'm doing jobtravels etc. Earlier experiences in non original batteries are both good and bad. Bought a battery for my HTC Diamond, and the phone got fried. Don't wanna experience that again (even though my job buys me new phones when I need one)...
Just wanted to know you my experiences.
I have a 2600 mAh extended battery and my running time of the phone with enabled WiFi and Nimbuzz is about 48 hours. Without WiFi, pure Standby, is about 85-90 hours.
You need at least 10-15 recharge cycles to get the full capacity out from the battery.

Sounds great. I might have to try one of these batteries. What battery did you buy?
I bought one of this too, off Ebay. Although the phone is a bit uglier and slightly heavier, the battery seems to last between 2 and 3 times as long. I gotta say it's totally been worth it. The extra size isn't that noticable either...most people look at the front, right?
Well i bought one and i rly dont like it.
Its almost a half centimeter bigger and allot heavier.
So be ware the phone does get ugly but you do get more battery power.
Tbh i rather recharge my phone everyday then make it so ugly
I've just ordered this battery.
Can any one give some real numbers? For example how long will it last with 3g network active. I bought this one for outdoor activities when I can't recharge for a few days and I would like to know how many days I can depend on it.
Thanks!
I rooted my phone and tweaked the crap out of it.
Runs 48 hours with standard battery now.
No need for fat and ugly
I have this battery + cover too.
Because it's bigger, I find it easier to press the hardware buttons on the bottom of the front of the Hero. THe only drawback is the total volume in your pocket, but that's just a minor point.
Also, flashing Modaco's 3.1 Rom and the newest RADIO Rom, the phone lasts for about 6-7 days with normal use (wifi/3g on when i need it, some regular phonecalls/texts)

I've had one about 2 days now. Read reports saying to go full discharge/ full charge about 4-5 cycles to realize full potential. I've ran it down once fully and down to about 30% a few times but with my work schedule/activities I dont like to let it get too low for fear of having to be leashed to a wall plug or charger for awhile. BUT i can say that the life seems to be getting better and as for the actual size of it.. seems big at first and in pix but i'm fully used to it now and I'm comfortable with it. Havent checked the actual stats on how long since unplugged in comparison to the stock, but I'd say for the price it was worth it..
At $30 I'm thinking about it. How much thicker did this make your phone rickriego?
I am guessing that this doesn't work well if you use the fingerprint reader?
Might be able to get used to the added dimensions, but how about weight? Was that pretty noticeable?

I have had a 3200 mAh battery from Seidio for about 3 months. I have all my radios blazing throughout the day. I listen to music over the cell network while in my car for a 1 hour commute. I leave my GPS on all the time. I use Bluetooth in my car. In short I have all the features of my Atrix that I paid for. I get 16 hours on a charge on a hard day. I plug it into the charger at bed-time.
The battery shown above may well be phoney. My Seidio is the real deal. I have no financial interest in Seido.
I am on stock OTA GB from AT&T. My only complaint is that by early afternoon my Atrix begins to complain (falsely) that my battery is depleted. I've haven't researched the problem fully yet, but there is a battery daemon (battd) that I think I can kill and end that silliness.
I have tried all manner of battery calibration juju to no good end, I have posted about it in other threads with lots of advice and no resolution. Let's not hijack the OP's thread.

Seems same brand as this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HIGH...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item519a60619e ( I have an optimus) which is $2.95 .., someone is making a lot of money if it's selling for $30
BTW I have the above battery and it works fine, if I had to guess I'd say 1200mAH, seems worse than stock 1500 slightly. after 20 charge cycles I think it's starting to go bad, not sure yet, it died at 40% the other day.
I just recieved this one and WOW
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-7v-3...-pack-with-back-cover-for-moto-ma860-4g-65800
Streamed a 2h 20m movie over wifi without taxing it at all. Plus when it fell to 1 percent it stayed on for about an hour. I'm on cyanogenmod right now so I know the larger size battery needs to be recalibrated. I am also assuming that when you switch from the lower MAH to the higher one the battery information stored on your phone would then be incorrect. Basically everytime you switch batteries you should clear your battery memory in your recovery or download a proper recalibrating app to do so. Hope this helps everybody!

that looks a little too big for me. If I was getting the titan, I might consider it, but one of the things I like about this phone is the size.
I was thinking about just getting a second battery to carry with me as nessasary.
Thanks Etaduck for your comment,
I don't mind the size. But I need to hear something about performance. Quite jealous with my wife with her Galaxy S that can stand for about 2 days.
BTW, in my E900, I've already disabled the location service, bluetooth, feedback, internet sharing, set the screen brightness to the lowest, and enabled the battery saver. I was initially on open carrier firmware with the similar battery issue, then change it to vodafone firmware because of internet sharing and 7740 update.
Kind regards,

just wondering, how long do you get out of it now?
with light usage for me I get around 2 days, sometimes more but rarely, but if i'm using it a lot on the internet seem to get a day to a day and a half, what surprised me after reading on this forum was to completly run down battery, then plug phone in but don't turn it on, start phone, after 4 seconds put the charger on, seemed to help with me, no idea why however
before I did that it would last around half a day, maybe its my imagination, but it seemed to help.
I'm also considering getting the smaller mugen battery when I have some spare money, the huuuge one just seems to disfigure the phone too much.
After coming from a Diamond, I really loved HTC's extended battery cover, shame theres nothing like it for this handset.
Hi Stead,
I've got about 16 hours so far. Around 5 am to around 9 pm at night. I've tried your method but there are no improvement at all.
I hope that the option to togle between 3g/HSDPA and EDGE/GPRS in 8107 update will solve this battery issue for me at least.
Update: With 8107 update, limited data to edge, still with standard battery, I could get 1 day 14 hours roughly 2 daytime and 1 night. Exchange, gmail, live, nextgen reader, accuweather running in background. Hook to wifi at home and office bcoz talkmobile edge is the worst here.
I wanted to buy it but after mango update in november battery lasts longer.... i use it for my job, wich is talk, send message, mms, gmail and hotmail acc, and i got 3.5-4 days with around 3 h talking during those days, about 50 msg-s..
I do not use 3g if i am not using internet, which is rarely, screen is automatic, feedback off, location on,bluetooth off, wireless off, gmail is set to 1 hour.I dont overcharge battery, and never charge over usb....never less then 3.5 days.If i use 3g its 2 days top..
I ordered the 1700 battery, its not a huge increase, but it easily lasts a day with heavy usage now, tend to get around 2 days with moderate usage?
Haven't tried turning 3g off yet, so may give that ago after reading djuricn's post!
I've also noticed giving it little charges a lot seems to make the phone only last a day at best, I try to leave it run down, and fully charge it whenever possible.
One final thing, using zune with a usb3 port seems to charge just as fast as the wall charger around an hour for me, and on the pc using zune with a normal usb2 port seems to charge quicker aroud 2 hours, if zune is closed it seemingly takes a full day to charge via usb
Is the extra cost for Mugen Power battery worth it? If you look on Amazon you see batteries for way less....

my personal experiance is that the mugen ones are of better quality, although I think its hit and miss with the cheaper ones, I've bought cheaper replacement batteries and I always find they become unusable within a year and charge times rapidily decline, some of my friends have been unlucky enough to have a bettery last a mere 2 months before failing completly.
Think of batteries you buy, you buy the branded ones for more and they tend to last, you buy the cheapest ones and they never do, same with these batteries imo

Totally agree with you, it is better to get branded batteries from official sources with extra warranty and customer support care, etc; definitely worth the extra cost on Mugen. And performance is worth it too.

@Etaduck
for LG Optimus 7 they also have smaller battery that doesnt require extra sized backdoor. It is 1700mAh and it is still much more powerful than the factory battery:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...h-extended-battery-for-lg-optimus-7-e900.html
Do not forget Mugen Facebook discount for that
This battery is cool!
Managed to get 4 days out of my phone with light use, just sms and phone calls
Its not how i normally use my phone, but if i'm going to be out for a few days without access to a charger I now do this.
turn off data connection, change connection speed for 3g to edge, i'm honestly surprised the difference this made, I just turned on data connection for the few minutes i check stuff on the internet and turn it back off.
Like i said, I normally don't do this, but if I know I won't be able to charge it for a few days this is for me until I give in and buy the bulky extended battery
I had ordered a Battery-Pack from the Mugen-Shop (link in the first article), but it was never delivered (over 2 months of waiting). The trader dosen't care, says i have to prove i never had recieved the parcel and PayPal says, it's to late to return my money.
So, take care! Maybe the batteries are top, the customer-service is flop. They were shiped from China, so the custom control on the border is the next problem.

I just recieved this in the mail today and am charging them as I write this. Seemed like a fair price for what I hope are quality batteries. If they last a year I'll feel like I got my money's worth.
I'll post updates on their longevity compared to the stock battery once I go through a cycle or two.

I got this as well and it's on its way. I hope to simply rotate them well enough that I get good longevity between the three (the two from this purchase and the OEM one).
i also got them they seem to work just fine
I trust that these batteries will work just as well as the OEM one...in terms of both battery life and overall longevity. Based mostly on the fact it's a US based company.
Unlike those HK ones...that sell for cheaper...but they're lucky to even hold a normal charge for like 3 months. Basically, we get what we pay for...more often than not.
I just ordered this off of Amazon. I figured for the low price it was worth the risk.
I've had them since Note Day #1 (2/17) and they are def worth the money. I just can't say how long they hold a charge, since I haven't kept track yet. My guess is that they don't last quite as long as an oem batt. But they don't seem horrendous and 2 batts and a charger to your door for about $30 is hard to not be happy with.

I had an issue with mine today...
Left a battery on the charger overnight and got up and the light showing it was still charging the next morning....Tried another battery and over 4 hours later, the same thing happened...Put another battery in there, and within an hour (battery wasn't empty), it turned blue letting me know charge was complete (and phone showed 100%).
Got another one in there now and it's been there for about 2 hours, and the light shows it's still charging.
Is there a charger out there that has a display so you can tell what's going on??

you cant buy cheap quality batteries and expect the performance of quality batteries it just wont happen, thats why you need 3 instead of 1

I think the charger is the issue...not the batteries...
Take a look at this calculator:
http://www.csgnetwork.com/batterychgcalc.html
The charger this comes with outputs DC4.2V~350mA~±50mA. Using the link to the calculator above, you should expect a 2600mAh battery to fully charge with this charger in about 9 HOURS!!
I'll post updates as I find out more.

i use this one but havent tried it with the note battery since i had the iPhone but let me find it and see if the battery fits and how it charges. i know its adjustable and charges most cell batteries but the note battery is kind of big

That charger charges at 550MA(MAX). That should take 5.37 hours at best. Still a far cry from the 1000mA that the stock charger uses.

found it, does fit but ill need to dran a battery to find out how long it takes to full charge a 2500mah battery. bothh my batteries are full so ill let you know tomorrow

consider the fact that you should not drain a bettery beyond 25% or you will shorten the life of it because the work to hard and overheat beyond that so your talking about 75% of 5.37 hours = 4.0275 hours and i dont think thats a big issue unless your battery doesnt make it 4 hours and trickle charge is better on a battery??

I was under the impression (maybe mistakenly!!) that for the first few charge cycles of a battery, you wanted to fully discharge and charge it...then after that...you can you can go back to the 75% rule.
At least that's the way it is with Lithium Poly Batteries.
Am I wrong?
Please Help
I guess this thread is dead?
It would be nice to get an update from those who bought these batteries 8, 10 or 12 months ago... to see how they held up.
I've been researching Hyperion and I've found quite mixed reviews... Several places I found photos (obviously can't be truly verified) of Hyperion batteries with the labels peeled back to reveal the metal shells which appeared to be stamped/marked (presumably by the ORIGINAL manufacturer) with different product ID codes, serial #s, as well as significantly lower mAh ratings than Hyperion's outer sticker.
I'm curious if any of those who started this thread still have their batteries... How have they held up? Are they still good?
Does anyone still have one of these batteries that they're no longer using? Would you be willing to try stripping back the label to check to see what you find under it...
I do believe that there probably are some companies that actually do make good, less expensive alternatives. But the scammers need to be exposed...
