Easy Android Installation - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I saw some moron demanding that ppl work on getting Android to work on Raphael..... what a dumbass..... and I clicked a few links deep from the Wiki mentioned and found this thread:
http://www.htc-android.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=237
It was very easy installation, and I am now running Android, have some fun testing for the developers now....
Recommend U all try it!

would you mind posting some screenshots? and if i want to flash it back to WinMo, will there be any problem?

You don't flash your device with it. You essential launch it from file explorer and phone boots into it. A soft reset brings you back to WM.

thx for the quick reply, guess i'll giv it a shot...

You can also press and hold the end call button, and you can choose 'Power Off' but I still end up having to soft-reset, many things are not working, but i'm sure that will all get worked out at some point, wish i could do more for the project than just installing it lol

Mirror Needed.
Can you upload the files needed.
I tried downloading from the site that you posted but I am unable to do so.
Thanks,

This one worked for me, I hit a broken link also
http://connect-utb.com/index.php?op...6:android-for-htc-touch-pro-raph100&Itemid=68
Can mirror if it still doesn't work
Here is a more precise link to install instructions, and a download link:
http://connect-utb.com/index.php?op...id=68&id=16:android-for-htc-touch-pro-raph100

Seems there are multiple builds for Raph100 and Raph800, dont know the difference, here is the global link with download links:
The one at the top is the newest for Raph100, and the one I installed
http://connect-utb.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder&Itemid=68&id=3:htc-raphael

Thank you.
Thanks for the download links. Downloading now...will give it a whirl

All the info you need. It covers working on Diamond and Raphael, thats the main page for the project.
Oh and the stuff posted on utb.com is outdated.
And there is a page in the xda wiki just search for Raphael Linux.

Can you point us all to a current build that's this easy to install?

very nice work. looking forward to future developments!

The RAPH100 is the GSM version, the RAPH800 is the CDMA version.
The link in my signature guides you to the thread where this is being developed. It's been a bit silent lately though.

I actually Gave this a Whirl and pretty Impressive... SMS was even Working. Camera doesn't Fuction and Ask for a Storage card to be inserted which is Weird cause ur reading the OS from the card lol.... Good find though...

I hope android will be fully ported on raphael soon
unfortunately for now it isn't for everyday use

This isn't ready for prime time yet. There is a lot of hardware support missing as I write this (e.g. no suspending or powering off, no Bluetooth, WiFi, or anything but plain GSM [GPRS, 3G, etc], no accelerometer, no sound [and no sound I/O in calls, so you can't hear or be heard], no cameras, et cetera).
The lion's share of the problems aren't with Android, they're with providing Linux device drivers for all of the machine's hardware. Android itself seems to work just fine with what devices the Linux kernel gives it!
But in the hopes that this may spark some more creative interest from kernel hackers (*) (as opposed to such comments as 'but why wasn't it ready twenty years ago?'), here are some rough (and fuzzy) screenshots from my Touch Pro:

The last two are from the Dev Tool's console application, showing the contents of /proc/cpuinfo (partial) and /proc/interrupts.
(*) I'd love to get involved myself, but my kernel hacking experience is in bigger, heavier devices with fewer radios. (but I'm looking around the kernel sources regardless).

Thanks. I'm not much of an IRC user, though this is A Good Cause. I've checked out the kernel source and had a look through some interesting bits. Went through the memory maps etc on the wiki and realised just what brave souls you guys are (some of this stuff is truly obtuse — but I know the rewards when you finally manage to get some bizarre device working). Having a look at the basics of ARM Assembly now (never had much reason to use it before). I generally have very little free time, but I obsess easily, and I'd really like to have something other than Windows on my Raphael.
(plus, logging into my phone via ssh amuses me — haven't been this amused since the Zaurus)

Hi!
android now have the times tested (Raph100), is a beautiful thing. Will not single network connection. Neither wireless nor USB 3G yet.
Why is this and how can I set up?

Community Release - De-Fragmenting our community one step at a time!

We've always claimed that a centralized index of ROM's for all Android devices will help everyone including XDA and all the other forums and blogs out there.
The Release Database makes it's MUCH MUCH easier for all the community to find the latest releases for their devices and directs them to the official location for the releases.
We've added a lot of functionality to the release database and more developers are using the system, but not enough.
7/23/2011:
Lots of new features have been added to Community Release
As users, you can register in the system and then follow:
Releases
Devices
Developers
Rate the releases you like so other know if they are good or not.
Soon you wil be able to leave comments with your ratings too
When you follow anything, you receive email notifications when some related to what you are following is updated.
e.g. Follow your favorite developer and when that developer releases something new, you get notified.
You can now narrow the list by OS Version, Developer or Device making it very easy to find the release for you device.
We are still working hard to provide this but we still have a long way to go. The only way to keep it updated is if the developers maintain their release entries in the release database or at least let us know when a new release comes out.
There are so many ROMs for so many devices now that it's almost an impossible tasks and we'd prefer the developers to do the updates.
If you developer a ROM, Theme or application for any Android device, please help pus out. Drop us an email at [email protected] or hit me up on GChat at [email protected].
You can also check out the release list to see if your release is already hosted.
We are still NOT ask for anything from the developers or the community for these services and cover all our costs through advertising.
What do we offer?
File hosting using FTP or our Web Based file manager.
Download tracking for your files.
Release notification to the entire community for your release.
Dedicated forum area with full moderation rights.
We don't require you to use all our services, the only important area is the release database. We don't care if your thread is on XDA or any other forums out there. Our only objective is to help the community. To de-fragment the release of software within the community.
I hope you'll help us out and wait to from anyone who wants access.

good job friend, i hope you will have success!
@Simon, there's already a wiki article on xda that list all the available ROMs for the Hero; GSM, CDMA.
Sounds like a good idea, having 1000 different threads for different roms is a pretty inefficient way of doing things.
Also, you need to differentiate between MyTouch and MyTouch 1.2/Fender LE since it doesn't look like you did.
How about an androidspin app

There are many sources and lists of ROMs for all different devices. What AndroidSPIN is trying to do is create a single index of ALL ROMs for any Android device for every forum and site out there.
A single location you can go to to find the latest, download them and get back to the original thread on whatever forum.
So which list do you choose to check and on which site?
We'd love to create an App.. Any volunteers?
We don't have any Android developers on staff.
BenBuchacher was looking at using the Cyanongen Updater app as a base but any suggestions welcome.
We already started a discussion here if you have any thoughts or time to help.

[DEV][WIP][PoC] ClockworkMod Touch for TouchPad

So, I've been working on getting the new version of CWM that has onscreen controls, a battery meter, and more to work on the TouchPad. So far, I've gotten it to boot, flash, and all that jazz, but the touchscreen still seems to be a WIP. Also, adb seems to be broken atm. Besides that, it seems to be working alright. I kind of want to gauge interest before I go out and fix the bugs/release a build.
Anyways, here are some pictures of the new CWM (and inadvertently me at 5 AM.. no judgements haha).

Notice the on-screen buttons (that don't work, yet...)
Finally, here's the battery meter
If I decide to keep going with this (hell, someone else should, too! I'm sure they could do it better, too heh), I'll start merging in some changes like USB notification and more. So..... any opinions?
larger text to fill the space ? make use of the space
i am afraid that i will make a mess of the setting by touching the screen, anyway thanks~
There's definitely interest. On the Touchpad my recovery of choice is TWRP, but since that's been discontinued and in its current state a little buggy I still use CWM. This would have the best of both worlds.
I'm going to go in the opposite direction of the other suggestion thus far and say shrink the buttons a bit, if possible.
Agreed I am certainly interested, much nicer then having to use the volume buttons....
Well, to finish this, I would have to tear apart TWRP's source hoping they have touch input in their code (the GUI code isn't public). Also, I would probably have to spend a few days bug fixing and actually fixing code instead of just commenting out stuff our device doesn't have (/datadata). It seems like it'd be a bit much, but once again, if more than 4 people say they'd want it, I'd do it haha. I'm just a CS college kid in midterms week so time is decently valuable, I guess heh.
EDIT: I felt bad because I feel like I sounded like I devalued the 4 responders; I don't and hope I didn't come off that way!
I wouldnt mind have a taste of cwm touch.
Is this the version of cwm that TWRP team helped with? (after they dropped their recovery project and started helping cwm's development).
I read they were planning to start help cwm with touch but i didnt see the implementation yet.
What do you think about using 4EXT Recovery instead?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402820
I'm definitely down for this.
CwM certainly does what it was design to do. I've been using it since I got hold of MyTouch3g and Donut. It hasn't changed. That said, it's time for a transformation. I think I read on another forum that there will be some changes to CwM soon. I don't know if you are part of that crew. Anyway, please move forward with this project.
Well I have midterns until next Monday, so I'll be busy, but if you want, I can release an alpha after testing it to see if basic functionality isn't broken? That means it'll have backup/restore, partition wipe, USB mounting, battery status, and zip installation. Anything else needed for an alpha?
Also, our touch screen drivers appear to be userland-based. To the average person, that means they're not in the kernel so I'll have to look into implementing that driver into CWM's source. Once that works, we should be golden. Also, I really want to add features like screen shut off if not touched for a minute or so. That should help with battery usage in CWM, I believe.
Thanks for the support and if you have anything to add/an idea/feature request/help, I'd love to hear it all!

+1 4ext is teh shizza
I think the aesthetics and additional functionality can follow. Getting touch to work with whatever is currently in CwM is more important.
I liked TeamWin's recovery, but since it's currently not being developed... oh well...
I have a fairly stable A0.5 and i don't plan on making any changes other than a kernel update or two. I have some time to test and give feed back.
Just a quick note (I'm currently in class and can't talk too much), but 4ext is closed source. Also, does anyone know if TWRP has been abandoned? As in, they'd probably be alright with open sourcing their GUI? Maybe? Bueller?

Q&A
This thread was created in response to a new xda initiative to reduce non-development related posts on development threads.
An added benefit of a thread here is that users with under 10 posts can get some help (and won't have to PM me).
Below are some examples of common types of posts and where they belong
Q&A and General Discussion Thread:
"What kernel gives the best battery life with this ROM?"
"Is Nova launcher compatible with this ROM?"
"The battery life for this ROM is off the chizarts! (see attached screenshots)."
"The battery life for this ROM is total crap! (see attached screenshots)."
"I just flashed this ROM and my GPS doesn't work. :crying:"
Development Thread:
"Anyone else having problems with the new cellular data toggle?"
"I keep getting FC's from SystemUI. Any thoughts?"
"I selected the green battery icons in Aroma but it installed the blues ones (I checked twice)."
"I just flashed this ROM and it bricked my device! "
**********************************************
It will probably take some time for threads like this to evolve, so I am definitely open to feedback.

That's what I though too. I can't post in the main thread since I don't have 10 posts yet (I usually just search and read) so I asked here about if the issues with the camera flash and the camera crashing when switching to video were having any progress, and they just deleted it. Didn't move it, say why, they just deleted it.
Can any of you get Jet Set Radio to run in ICSMod 1.46? On mine It runs for a second then fc immediately.
Edit: Never mind, I've found out most 3D games won't work except Dead Trigger and Shadow Gun. I thought it was app specific.

I removed DLNA for two reasons:
1) No one uses it. You are the only person to ask for it.
2) I don't think it was ever fully implemented in the ROM. As you noticed, it doesn't even show up in the app drawer when it is installed. It is possible it is integrated in to a menu and I never noticed it.
I noticed you posted a question on the AtrICS thread (they should be posted here).
The apps you are looking for are found on the vendor image.

I just was wondering if any headway has been made with the camera (flash timing and crashing when switching to video).
I also had said that you've done really great work with this rom so far.
I guess the mods didn't like that for some reason.

I am really hoping your post was deleted by accident.
I have not spent any significant amount of time working on the ROM. I basically got tired of everyone complaining about battery life. Since this problem won't get fixed without a new kernel (and I am not a kernel dev), development is on hold. As soon as mmontuori's team gets the new kernel going I will get back to work.

That depends on how successful the project is.
From what I can tell the early results seem mixed.
All works very slow (with Ramfix)
Hello
I installed the ICSROM then Vendor Lite and after that the Ramfix,
my phone boots good and I just had one reboot in 6h
but all works very slow and apps like Chrome most time just crash and the homescreen often have to restart.
Also apps starts very slow and also react sometimes extrem slow. What can I do?

Introduction
This is a general discussion thread about our efforts to bring Android to the Nintendo Switch. (This post will see updates, we just wanted to get the ball going)
Current state of the project
The base for this port is LineageOS 15.1. As of now most things you'd expect work. WiFi, Bluetooth, Audio, Dock, JoyCons via Bluetooth only for now. Full sleep does not work yet so battery runtime is not great, but this is something that's being worked on. As of yesterday Android can be booted with the hekate bootloader and entering TWRP works by simply holding VOL- while booting. There is still a bunch of stuff to do until this can see a full release. Especially the setup process is something that's being worked on making simpler.
How to keep in touch
Feel free to ask questions here (apart from ETAs obviously). Once we have a public build we'll open a DevDB project too.
We are currently posting updates on Twitter as we go along at https://twitter.com/switchroot_org
We'll have a Discord server too once the builds go public. A little more patience please.
Posted in the last couple of days by @switchroot_org
Welp, I sold my Switch, now I'll probably buy another Switch... Obviously getting the device stable is the priority at the moment, but I am still wondering if the overclocking feature will also be here for us as well? Since I can't imagine running 1ghz a57 on Android is that great
The remote playing is gonna be so interesting on this
Really, really looking forward to this. Amazing work, keep it up
Overclocking to 1.7GHz (which is actually normal clock really) will be supported. And we just fixed WiFi scanning so you can connect to WiFi normally instead of having to manually enter it.
Regarding remote play: GameStream should work out of the box, Steam Link has been successfully tested, so was Parsec. GeForce Now has an issue still that needs to be worked out so don't expect that in the first release I guess.
Netflix work in this port ?
Hey, sirocyl from switchroot here. One thing I need to make clear, in case you're wondering: Your Switch needs to have an "UNPATCHED" bootrom.
You can use this guide to identify Switches by serial number; if it's manufactured/purchased before approximately June/July 2018, it should be good - but the only way to make sure is by checking the serial!
https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/
As an owner of a vulnerable Nintendo Switch i'm really excited with the progress been made here, keep up the great work
Twrp and android are inside the microsd or emmc?
Fun times ?
It was only a matter of time. XDA never ceases to amaze me!
Everything is on the microSD. Don't wanna risk Nintendo bans although _in theory_ you could put it on eMMC. We'll never officially support that tho for obvious reasons.
Very interesting, looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Now can I find a switch that can be modded is the question??
Will there be a need for root? Like can you run this on a note 9 without root?

OOOOOOH
Thanks for clarifying!
Will we ever see a wired joycon solution, perhaps influenced by the Lakka port?
At the moment you can either have wired or bluetooth due to issues with the respecting drivers. If one is in, the other breaks (don't remember the exact order). It's not an immediate focus right now now. I'll think I poke around actual sleep support a little this weekend...
Will you give us an option to choose between wired or BT joycon support?
Or are you just staying with BT only, as this option can be used when docked and portable?
I'd personally prefer wired, as I only play in portable. But this is just me.
And one more question - Android will be installed to SD rather than eMMC, and I get it, this is much better overall.
But what about performance? SD card can be much slower than eMMC, should we expect any slowdowns or other issues?
I wanted to thank entire switchroot team and other people associated with this project for their hard work. Especially ByLaws. Guys, this is huge, this is something we need, we can't be grateful enogh. Cheers!

Did some reading and there are a few guides but not sure what might be best for this new Pixel6.
Whilst I wait for the ability to use a Google-Free ROM, is there an app or script or list of apps/services to disable etc that would work i can follow?
I'm kinda wanting to have a play with this phone but don't want it updating itself or tracking me...

As of now there r no custom roms for pixel 6 so inorder to degoogle u would have to extract the g apps from the factory firmware and then flash it that way but I've never done that myself

IT would be best to wait for a custom ROM to sideload
Yeah,uhumm..Me too want a Google phone without Google apps.Yes,uhumm also i want a stable OS without bugs and good performance, good battery life too.But not the way Google make the phone, the chip and HIS operating system.no, no,no i want to archive this any other way possible. Then U see this dude coming back with "I don't know what's happening, I have a lot of bugs and a lot of app crashing. My system is unstable. I don't want this phone.Copy his user name and wait..
Here are the apps I froze. I could probably freeze more but it's a good start i'd say. I didn't sign in to any google account. It's not perfect but that's temporary, patiently waiting for custom ROMs too

Yep I guess we wait for the clean ROMS and such.
Thanks for sharing tomatot - I have done a bit of that already. Will check your list against mine

Sure, let me know if I missed any other app that seems important to freeze.
I don't know if any of you realize this, but p6/p6p have first class support in aosp. Take 15 minutes to read the instructions and build it from source yourself.
I'm running a self built aosp12r14 on my p6p right now and even typing this message from it.

It'd be nice if you'd share your build with the community. Is everything working including fingerprint scanner?

1) My build wouldn't help you. Like I said, its for p6p, not the basic-p6 in here.
2) 15 minutes of reading is all it takes to figure out how to build it yourself. The security risk of using something built by someone you don't know doesn't justify it.
3) couldn't tell you about fingerprint sensors, biometric security isn't protected by anti-self-incrimination laws, so I would never use and recommend that nobody ever use it. You should only use knowledge-based security.
I guess we are lazy? Or an underestimated minority?
I'm wondering why an AOSP build isn't available already from some kind person, or even a walk through with comments and experiences from someone already on this planet? Nothing on Youtube either.
Or is it so easy people do it quietly and assume it's common knowledge.
You know they make phones without Google installed on them, right? They are called iPhones and are pretty popular too.

You realize that those are 100% closed source and locked and completely and utterly useless?

Yes, which is why I use only Android phones.

You can enjoy Android without enjoying Google bloat/spyware you know...
I think they are just joking with the iPhone jib so no need to overreact all.
I read up on source.android.com and it all looks well documented yes. But.
400G of free HDD space, 60GB+ of source to download, overnight compiling....
I've not done it before, let alone testing on a brand new phone...plus with 2 kids and a puppy and not much sleep...
If your in your 20s and have a couple of Pixel phones and lots of free time - have a go and let us know your experiences creating a ROM. If it works on your P6, I'll try it on mine
Those many GB is not that much these days. Not like anyone is using 9600 bps dialup any more. And overnight compiles are not that bad, not like you really need to watch it. Set it to go and go to bed.
Or if you have a faster computer, just give it an hour.
But I do hear you on the kids and dog getting in the way. I have 3 kids under 10 and a dog. Oh, I'm an accountant.
It's funny that people use Android and try to De-Google their phone.
What is even more hilarious is buying a phone actually made by Google themselves and trying to De-Goolge that same device
