Anyone experienced this annoying issue? after installing ryan heavy rom ( very good by the way ) the phone froze, i soft reset it and it came back to the auto-customization screen completely wiped out. it happened 3 times in 1 week. flashed again, same problem. is it a Bad rom or do I have a bad phone?
Probably a bad flash. Flash to a different ROM, then flash back to RM. When the customizations begin, perform a hard reset. It worked for me when I was having the same problem.

I have no idea what's going on with my XDA II. I have not done anything to modify or upgrade it recently. But suddenly the phone froze one day. I tried doing a soft reset but the phone just shut off. Kept pushing power button but nothing worked.
I then tried a hard reset which didn't work either. I finally just removed the battery and the sim card and then replaced them. My phone finally booted up and went through the standard hard reset sequence. I restored my backup information into the phone. Later on it froze again...with the same problem.
I finally got my phone working, but it freezes almost everytime I try to do something. When i do a reset, whether hard or soft, I get stuck at the boot screen with nothing happening. I reset it about 8 or 9 times before i get back into the phone and go through the intro to WM2003 again.
When i do get in, i can maybe make a call or two before the phone freezes up again. Don't know what to do, but really confused. I was going to contact o2 because the phone is still under warranty. However, I have upgraded to the TMobile 1.6 rom.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this please let me know. If not, does anyone have the original o2 rom that I could get a hold of? Thanks for all the help in advanced.
Does the phone freeze after you restore backup or does it do it even when you use it from scratch after hard reset?
It freezes no matter what. Most of the time, it'll refuse a hard reset. I would reset it, hard reset it and the phone will just load up on the Tmobile screen and stay there. Sometimes i'll get that circle thing that shows the phone is doing a process...but it'll go in circles forever.
Sometime down the line it'll actually let me through. Then i'd do the whole WM2003 intro again.
So to answer that question, it's not only on my restore, the phone consistently freezes up.
Looks like it's time to avail of the warranty and have your phone replaced.
I know, but in order to do that I have to get the original rom because i'm on tmobile 1.6 rom.
Mate, did you try to reinstall the 1.6 rom? Maybe download the latest ROM version and try to install it from your dead device...
My phone is just freezing on the boot screen and sometimes i can actually get in and use the phone for a while. Does this still constitute it as dead?
Since I can't get past the boot screen most of the time, I can't connect the phone to the computer to install the 1.6 rom again.
However, I did get past the boot screen once and did manage to sync it with my computer and reinstall the 1.6 rom. No help...same problem...
Ok, i finally got in and managed to update the rom to the new O2 rom. Everything was working fine for a long time. I used the phone and no problems. I left the phone on the sync cradele over night and by morning the phone was frozen. Reset and getting stuck at boot again...
ANyone have any ideas?
i also get this problem.
I have found many ppl got this problem, but no one has solution.
so what is everyone doing about it?
I have a Sprint HTC touch pro. I unlocked it the day I got it, and have flashed mightyrom6, juicy, and a couple others to it without problem. What I'm seeing now is the ROMs are going very slow, freezing when I just try to read a text message, etc. I have a feeling that some things from the ROMs aren't completely getting wiped when I flash the new ROM. Someone suggested flashing the stock OS to the phone to clear this garbage. Is this a good idea? Does anyone else have this problem, or a solution to it? Thanks
It's definitely worth a try, it worked for me.
I had been trying out all the new 6.5 ROMS out there. At some point it wasn't slow per se, but it would completely freeze, and then I'd have to soft reset. *IF* it got past the loading screen, it would take me to the initial configuration, as though it had been hard reset. I couldn't make it 48 hours without it doing that. Didn't matter which 6.5 ROM I tried, it always did the same thing.
(shameless plug for Sashimi and Makisu! Lifesavers!)
Tried leaving out the microSD card in case it was bad data - no luck.
Tried not configuring anything - just using it as a phone - in case it was a corrupted CAB or something. Not that either.
At the end, I gave up and I was prepared to take it into the Sprint store. (I bought my phone on Ebay, so no idea what kind of success I would have had, if any.) I flashed back to stock rom, installed my cabs and user settings, etc. and waited for it to happen.
It's been over a week now, absolutely no problems.
Long shory stort: flash back to stock ROM and see how it turns out.
Good luck!
weso has a good point...But
Flash back to stock, hard reset.
Flash your ROM of choosing, hard reset
enjoy new Rom
I find after a couple flashes that I need to flash back to stock hard reset then flash new Rom. After that I tend to have a much more enjoyable experience.
Interesting. I wonder if there's any way to explain that, or if we have to put that in the X-files folder - just one of those things.
I also ALWAYS go into the bootloader manually by rebooting with the reset button and holding power and vol-down. Not sure if it makes a difference or just makes me feel better, but I've had zero issues doing it that way, so that's what I keep doing.
Mightyrom6
Hey out there! Can anyone help with this problem I am having. With the MightyRom 6 on the Touch Pro for Sprint? When Touch Flo is enable and you slide the tab to settings and tap All Settings on the bottom left it will go to Connections Only! It will not go to the All Settings screen. Can anyone help me? I know how to edit the registry but, can't find anything out there. Please Help!
Many believe this happens due to not "flash dancing" (flash then hardreset).
Be wary of doing this with generic stock roms, ive had an experiance in which my prl and qcn files were reset to the generic stock ones of a diffrent provider, which in turn got me to take the phone in and get it carrer flashed again ( NO CARRIER SPECFIC ROMS OR STOCK FOR TBAYTEL!!! . god bless tbay tell lol, but anyways after the initial flash of a rom you like, before you load it with cabs install one at a time to ensure proper installation and compatability with your current rom. Also before you run any freshly installed apps/cabs be sure to soft reset after install.
My method of flashing
Ensure battery is above 80%
Fully synced and connected
Freshly rebooted computer and phone
Update/Flash phone
Hardreset after customize and initial setup
Re-configure customise/etc
soft reset
Good to GO!
Also with every flash there is the posability of it just being a bad flash.
in some cases the freezing and such may be pagepool/Driver issue's with your hardware
Hi All,
I have a HTC HD2 TMobile USA. I'm experimenting some issues when rebooting the phone.
The phone works fine but when I reboot it, it stucks (lots of time) in the bootloader screen. Sometimes, after rebooting several times it works. Other times, I have to hard reset and then it works again.
I tried the following and it didn't fix the problem:
* Flash new radio (now 2.15.50.14)
* Flash new ROM (now last Energy with build 29xxx)
Any thought around this issue?
Thanks,
Pipaman
Please help with this issue.
If you need any clarification just ask me but the issue really exist and I cannot send the phone to the service because I'm in a different country.
If I was you I would firstly Reinstall your T-Mobile stock ROM follow by a Hard reset and than reinstalling a Custom ROM follow by a Hard reset.
I don't get in what way that is different to restore the TMobile original ROM. I did that several times before installing a new ROM.
I did that:
* I flahed a stock rom: Now I'm back to stick together screen.
It was working fine until I reboot after a couple of days. Then, it doesn't start again: stuck in 'Stick together' screen.
It's very weird because if I hard reset the phone it works again but it's impossible to live with a phone that cannot be restarted.
I tried changing the SD card to see if that was the problem and the same: after some time using the phone I cannot restart it.
i have t_mobile also and this thing happend to me after flashed back from wp7. and android,....i did task 29 then frelash custome rom .reflash radio.reformat sd,took my sim out and clean it,and now its good, dont know if this thing will back, hope not ; )
I tried that but the same. After using sometime the phone it doesn't reboot again. I tried everything here, I'm near to throw it to the wall

Just a question, do you have good battery connection? are the pins in normal state?
Thank you for your answer.
Yes, all the battery pins are fine. To clarify this point: if I hard reset the phone it works fine until I use it normally. I mean, if I reboot the phone after hard reset it reboots perfect.
However, if I start using it installing any stuff, set-up facebook profile or email accounts, the phone works fine until I reboot it.
Now, I'm using a stock ROM:
TMOUS_3.14.531.1
Radio 2.15.50.14_2
I tried different ROMs and different Radios and it's exactly the same: after using a couple of days if I reboot it, it will stay in the bootloader forever until I hard reset it again.
I found that if I don't configure facebook profile the phone lasts more but it's very weird and annoying.
Hey i got the same problem as you did. It's behavior is erratically. Given the fact that the phone is out of the box. . dude i didn't mod. I feel uncertain using such device when it can go back to "stick together screen" at anything. If i were you, I would just send the device for replacement. That's the reason why people buy iphone. I can see there are tremendous info flowing around here, but ppl seems too busy with developing, no one seems to care about troubleshooting.
Good to hear that I'm not alone with this issue. Unfortunately, I've bought the phone in the US in a trip and I'm in Argentina now so replacement is not a possibility
I understand now why people buy iPhone even. My problem is that I like to hear FM Radio and in my country the best GPS maps are for Garmin that has WM support.
For me this phone was exactly what I wanted. Of course, if it works!
At this point I tried everything: different Radios, different ROMs, not installing anything, etc. but it always happen again.
Now, I try not to reset the phone and I'm very careful to charge it everyday! It looks like I bought a tamagotchi.
What is the SPL version in Bootloader mode?
I'm using SPL 2.8 but the same issue was happening with the default bootloader.
I am just a bit confused, you say you have SPL 2.08(.0000 or .HSPL) and a 3.14 TMOUS ROM.
If that is the case then the RAM would be very low and possibly running Facebook would freeze it.
I'm using:
SPL 2.8 (I cannot verify exactly the version because I don't want to reboot the phone )
OS Version: 21913.5.0.94
Manila: 2.5.20181424.0
ROM: 3.14.531.1
Radio: 2.15.50.14
Protocol: 15.42.50.11U
I identified that Facebook was generating some lack of stability so I don't use it at all, not even to show the photos in the contacts.
I tried to use different ROMs but the stuck at bootloader was the same and I got some problems when the phone became locked: I was unable to unlock it so I had to reboot and guess what happened in the bootloader (I tried Energy ROM with both OS versions, I tried also Task29 before flashing)

BINGO. your absolutely right about that.
Issues with hanging and rebooting have been popular and if you try sd card ROM installation and "RSA radio fail" comes out while flashing then its probably a hardware problem and theory is that it is from heat so advice, get a replacement. I think there is a batch of hd2 phones that have faulty manufacturing
here's what else I've done to resolve my issue (as seen on XDA): Hoping someone on this thread may have other suggestions.
-Boot into recovery and randomly pressing back and menu button for a few
(worked for the next little while)
-*#*#2663#*#* and update TP Firmware and tried updating both too
(again, it worked for the next little while)
Now it seems to be worse. It just doesn't work at all. Reboot, battery pull and retrying the above now doesn't work.
Went from a Stock 2.3.3 (rooted) ROM and tried Lite'ning ROM. Of course, factory reset after flashing custom ROM but that also would make it work for the next little while too.
Any suggestions??
^bump
anyone else have this problem? I just flashed back the Stock kernel and firmware that is for Three UK and factory reset. Same problem.
I guess no one else has experienced this issue...I got me a lemon.
I spoke with Samsung and they'll be fixing it for me under manufacturer's warranty.
So there I was, trying to reset a few phones so I can return them back to the reseller. Only after I rooted them and started loading software did I realize they did NOT support 4G LTE. DEAL BREAKER!!! After unrooting and setting the binary counter back to zero (which I can now do in my sleep, or lack of sleep), no matter what I did or what instructions I followed the phones still came up as Custom.
Quite by accident I discovered a way that worked 100% on all the remaining phones I needed to reset.
While flashing a known good ROM (which, by the way, finding a known good ROM is harder than you would think for a total NOOB), Odin froze up and stopped! HORROR! Not to worry since I have recovered from a soft brick way too many times in the last two weeks. All other soft bricks were due to incompatible ROMS, not an interruption in the flashing process.
Turns out Odin freezing and stopping the rom flash reset something in the phone. I rebooted everything, did a reflash with the exact same ROM, factory/cache reset and now my phone shows "Official".
Yes it is nerve racking to pull the cable half way through the flashing process. Before you flame me remember that initially Odin stopped in the middle. I did not decide to bail half way through. I was forced into it. Any idiot knows you might brick your phone pulling the cable half way through the process.
I can now get OTA updates.
Just thought I would share rather than make my first post a question.
