I hope this is the right forum for this. Always have a hard time figuring out which is. Anyways, I had to hard reset my phone and after everything was installed, I was setting up my SEVEN accounts and when I tried to put my account name in it said there was already an account with that name in use. I checked out the SEVEN registry entries and it only shows 3 accounts, the 3 new ones I just set up. For whatever reason, it seems the account pages from before the hard reset have stayed. Checked in CHome Editor, only one page called "Images" there and I don't know how to make new pages for that app so I don't want to mess with it. Nothing happens when I click on the old pages in the Email panel so it's just a visual thing. Anyone have any idea how to delete them? Maybe another registry entry I couldn't find?
Not a huge deal but it is annoying and I don't want to hard reset again and have to go through another couple of hours resetting all my stuff. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey folks, i was wondering if anyone knew where the registry fiiles for email are in the Titan? I am trying to export them so i can either build a cab from them or find another way to store them so i wont have to keep entering them when i have to reflash my phone.....any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
this isnt an exact answer to what you asked, but why not open a gmail account or some such and sync your google calendar/contacts (think yahoo can too) to your phone. that way you'll never lose anything if your device goes south.

Thats the thing, i am using gmail for my mail. Its just that between school, personal and different organizations i am in, i have four or more emails that i routinely check. And since i find myself flashing or restarting my ppc over from scratch, i was trying to find an easier way then to keep always having to enter them manually. I have seen where if u could export the registry or write an xml file than it could be made a cab or use such a tool to reentering those settings would be a breeze....any ideas?
So, I had both my gmail and hotmail accounts perfectly working with push functionality until I accidentally wiped my cache and data and had to do it again. Now some problems have arisen. I remember when I first set them up hat I found a menu that asked me what days and at what time to have push functionality and when to have it on manual. Now I can't find this menu and I be searched everywhere. Also the email up now only shows up the regular folders like inbox and trash but not the ones I created. And it used to show them before. Anyone knows what's going on?
I seem to have somehow developed an invisible exchange account on my rooted (but otherwise stock) 4.1.2 AT&T HTC One. I don't know at what level to attack this problem -- is it a Sense issue or an Android issue? What app or data should I delete / uninstall or clear?
If I go to Settings -> Accounts & sync -> under the "Manage Accounts" area there is no Exchange ActiveSync account even listed.
If I try to add an "Exchange ActiveSync" account I get the Error message in a popup box that says "You have already set up this Exchange account." Googling for that message or searching for it on xda did not yield anything helpful.
I'm not sure if this developed at some point from a Nandroid restore or what...
Does anyone know how to delete this invisible Exchange account that it says I have already set up? I can't see the account anywhere to delete it, but it's data must exist somewhere inside "Accounts & sync" and so it thinks I have already set it up... I'd like to delete it for real and then re-add it.
Thanks for any ideas.

So the problem is I can't update my Exchange account password because the account is not there to even select in "Accounts & sync"... so, similarly, I can't delete it... and can't re-add it, because it claims it is already there, tho' I can't see it...
I suppose maybe a total factory reset would fix it ... and then restore all other app's, but that seems like a nuclear option considering I just want to delete an account. Plus it would be better to understand the correct way to fix this, rather than resorting to a total wipe.
thanks...
Oh well.. just thought maybe there was some way to delete the offending hidden exchange account from the back-end since I'm rooted... if I could use ES File Explorer to nuke something... but I doubt that is easy to figure out.
I suppose the only real solution will be to factory reset and re-install all app's... well... a good excuse to install Revolution HD or some other great ROM... then I'd have to be re-setting all system settings anyway.
Note that I actually called HTC about this and the (nice / smart) tech. support guy was equally baffled by the weirdness of this... so it goes...
This kind of stuff never seemed to happen to me in the iPhone universe... less error-prone it would seem... however... I'll still take Android flexibility over the gilded cage .
Still if anyone ever has any ideas about this, it would be interesting to hear... thanks.
SOLVED!
Someone from Android StackExchange guided me to fix my problem!!
The solution was to delete the app data for the "Mail" app on the HTC One. I guess an invisible Exchange account was lurking attached to that app somehow.
After clearing the data for that app, I can once again create the Exchange account I need! My calendar works again....
Fixed!

I have 5 gmail accounts on my V10. Only one is selected to sync contacts. When I use the dialer I start typing a number and start to see choices from other unsynced gmail accounts. When I select other account as visible in the contacts app it populates the supposed unsynced account with names. I have tried clear contact storage a couple times but it keeps syncing the contacts I told it not to. This is getting frustrating. Any suggestions?

5 gmail accounts? amazing, i just have 1, did not see this issue before. try some email app.
The issue isn't related to an email app.
Do you use Google +?
If so, the first time of use, it asks if you want to sync all your G+ contacts.
I made this mistake once and now I have thousands
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
I don't use G+ and all the contacts are not synced to one account. The are listed under each individual gmail account. The issue only happened after moving to the V10. My note 4 didn't have this issue.
Any further suggestions?
can anyone confirm they have same problem
Anyone able to try duplicating this issue?
This happened to me on the Moto X (first generation) ... I've been screwed ever since.
My problem with this is how invasive - while at the same time disruptive, repetitive and completely unnecessary this unauthorized merge is as it duplicates contacts.
Example:
1. I have 1 email (& matching Contact List) for work and work related contacts. These contacts include only their work phone and email - and in some instances their work cell # -- which of course would be labeled "mobile" as that was the only labeling option a decade ago.
2. I have 1 email (& matching Contact List) for my friends. These contacts include only their personal phone and email. Although there are a few cell phone numbers that match the business cell, the rest of the info is unique to their personal life.
*** Part 2 of this Contact List is their wives/sig-other gets a Contact Listing - to which repetitive info like the land line and maybe e-mail address is entered, but more importantly their individual cell number. This makes contacting them individually an easy task without guessing what cell number goes to the husband or the wife ... and in some instances ... their kids (who sometimes baby/dog sit). [This may sound rather convoluted to you younger kids, but 10 years ago we didn't have the option of custom labeling the phone numbers, only a short pull-down list of Home, Cell, Fax ... so this is how we did it ... and a decade later with several hundred entries, we're NOT going back to redefine all these fields and merge contact lists as this is still an easy system].
Well - a while back when the Droid X came out, I loaded each email profile into the phone separately - Google/Droid decided to merge all contacts and it's been a friggin' disaster ever since! I went from 200 to 800 contacts in different email/contact profiles, to one, bigass, convoluted, double, triple, quadrupled contact list that is impossible to tell which one is from the Work List or the Personal List or any other miscellaneous list I had .... a 4000K Contact list for every email account - not just g-mail, but Outlook and Windows too! ! !
I've yet to find any app that can simplify or remedy this for me ... (I've spent WEEKS looking for one ... so about a year ago, I took several days and merged all the Contacts into one Gmail list and custom labeled EVERYONE on those lists into one, clear, concise list. I admit that I'm anal about keeping things organized and in clear and concise manner and this may seem nutty to some ... but I also don't make the mistakes my friends make with mis-dials and wrong numbers.
I've had some issues ... (hint: once done, copy to a window computer, then go and delete every back up you ever made of every contact list in every e-mail file to prevent reloading old files into the new, revised Contact list.) ... but I stay on top of it and delete or modify any duplicate. I'm almost back to being sane ... probably because I haven't stopped drinking ;- )
It's going to be a long and lonely road back to sanity. Google is invasive and loves getting all the info it can and will "F" up the way you kept it.
Good luck with a solution. Please post a solution if you find one.
I have three Gmail accounts on my phone. Mine, my daughters and wife's. I only want to sync the calendar, but it also syncs the contacts. Especially if I get a text from my brother, it will come up as Uncle.....(my daughter's account). I tried contacts sync fix as I read in a forum once that LG phones have an issue with broken contacts if you have an I.C.E. contact listed (in case of emergency). This did fix it for about two weeks and then something happened and I was back to seeing my wife's and daughter's contacts over mine.
If you find a solution, please let me know.
Hi, everyone, I am new here and I realise my question may be pretty basic to most of you but here goes. I need to change the server settings in Outlook on my Samsung Galaxy A21s. I have input the settings I was given by Sibername and I am in direct contact with them but nothing seems to work. This has been going on for about 3 days now and and I have spent 10 hours today trying to resolve it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook, and 'reset all settings' and at Sibername's suggestion I have tried different passwords and user names. Their latest suggestion is that 'It could be possible that your phone has cached the password. I would recommend deleting the email address already created, restart your Smartphone after and then try setting it up again using the same setup.' I have just emailed them to ask what they mean by deleting the email, i.e. do they mean delete the account? I have already tried to do that but the account does not appear on the Manage accounts page (only Gmail). What haven't I understood about all this? Has anyone else had similar issues? this is driving me mad!
