Need direction, activating touch pro from alltel to bell network - Touch Pro CDMA

Hi.
I just purchased an CDMA alltel touch pro phone from the states, and I wanted to get it to work on the bell network. The phone is unlocked and has the EnergyROM 'Aurora' (quoting from device information on the phone), rom date is 08/09/09. It was sold to me with this ROM on it.
There was a few ring tones and such on the phone, so as soon as I turned it on, I did a hard reset so that it would be a clean slate.
I then phoned bell tech support, they say to go into a bell store to activate it. I phone my local bell store and the guy was nice enough to try activating it over the phone. I gave him me MEID number, but he wanted me to type in a 'unlock code' and was also saying something about the serial number not being able to be registered.
I phoned back the bell tech support, spoke to a tech, and he said that the software on the phone might not be compatible with the bell network.
This phone, even after the hard reset, thinks it has an Idaho phone number. When I dial any number from the phone, I get a generic bell network message ('welcome to bell mobility, call this number to get help')
My questions are: Does it matter what ROM I use for the bell network?
What is the unlock code/ where can I find it for this phone?
And lastly, if the serial number (I assume by serial he meant MEID) cant 'take' on the network, am I screwed?

I believe the unlock code you are asking about is 000000
I would try flashing the phone NFSFAN's Rom, It is supposedly carrier free meaning it will work with all carriers.
One thing I have noticed though is that if you use any codes, like ##778, which is normal on a alltel phone, you have to do a ##778# if you are using NFSFANS Rom. Noting the trailing "#" which is like pressing the send key.
About the ESN not registering I do not know about this, maybe someone with more expierence can help.
Hope this is accurate and I hope it helps

Thank you for that unlock code! I phoned bell again and gave them the MEID, and they said that in his computer system, he had to specify what type of device the MEID was for. He tried all 5 and none of them would work. He then gave me a number for bell tech support, saying that I should ask them if they can 'force' the MEID onto the bell network.

ok put in the MEID with the tech support and they say it's an analog phone according to thier database. because they no longer support analog phones, it cant be activated. W-T-EFFING-F. its a touch pro phone! how is that possible??. What Should I do???

I did a quick google search and perhaps this thread can help you, if you have another "Bell" phone.

i personally did this follwing that exact same tutorial and its working 100% with my sprint tp on bell network !!!

Sprint Mogul for Alltel?

Hi, this is my first post on the XDA forums and I have some Q's. Hopefully I find some A's. Can someone point me in the right direction or explain this. I bought a used Sprint Mogul and I have Alltel. I want to have this phone work for Alltel. All I have right now is the newest HTC rom for alltel and the Titan Unlocker. Will someone give me a hand on how to make this phone my new phone for Alltel? BTW I dont want to really run any custom roms unless I have to.
Thanks,
Moulds
The problem isn't the rom, the problem is that carriers store their "own" ESN's in their systems, since the phone wasn't sold to Altel originally, it won't be in their system. There are stories of people having success getting one carrier or the other to activate other carriers phones, but it's extrememly rare and very difficult to do. The first thing you would have to do is download the stock rom for Altel for your model phone, flash it, and verify the phone boots and appears to work. At this point, you can try going into the Altel store and see if you can convince their reps to activate the phone. If they won't, then try calling customer service and see if you can get them over the phone to do it, however again, their system is going to throw up a flag when they try to activate someone other carriers phone.
If the phone doesn't look exactly like Altel's there is even less of a chance of getting it activated.
Honestly your best bet is to put it back on ebay and take the proceeds from that sale to buy a used Altel phone. You will have a whole lot less trouble.

Well what if I took the current esn of my razr on change my mogul to that? would that work and if so how do I do that.
That is illegal and even discussing it in this forum can get you banned.
While possible, Altel will know it's a data phone and could legally sue you for violating their terms of service.
Again, your best bet is either to change to Sprint, or swap the phone out on ebay for one from Altel.

Mogul on Alltel
I just bought a Mogul and loaded an Alltel stock ROM last weekend. It has been working great. Alltel will put the ESN in no problem if you call them on the phone. Don't tell them it is from another carrier. All they asked me was what type of phone it was.
Tools I used:
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/../Tools/QPST_2.7.249.zip -THis is used to unlock your phone if needed and update the service information from Sprint to Your Provider
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/../Tools/GetSPC.zip (finds your phone's MSL if it needs unlocked).
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...rd-SPL-MFG.exe - Run this and then your RUU loader afterwords to install your ROM
Latest ROM ver 3.52.671.9 (What I am running) @ http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=63&act=all
make sure you have the usb cable, activesync if you are on XP, otherwise Vista has it already.
Basically you need to
1. Get the MSL code from GetSPC inputing your ESN and it outputs the MSL.
2. Put your phone in DIAG mode (##3424# ##3424 Send, or #*#3424). If it is a sprint phone, the first one will work.
3. Run QPST (you will need the MSL you obtained from getSPC
4. You may want to save the phone's configuration if you ever want to roll back to the SPCS config. Anway, Change the MSL to 000000 and write it back to the phone.
5. then run the Hard-SPL-MFG.exe program, paying attention to when it tells you to disconnect and reconnect your phone.
6. Then install your ROM by running the RUU program on your pc.
7. Now, you will need to configure service by going into DIAG mode again (probably need to use ##3424 SEND now) and using QPST change the service information to that for Alltel or whatever carrier you want. I had it easy, I plugged in my Samsung Hue R500 and copied the service information off of that one.
8. If you get all the service information right, you should be able to call Alltel, give them the ESN. If they give you slack, wait a bit and call back until you get someone nice. Persistance is the key. Then you can do *228 for OTA programming.
If you need Alltel config I will post it here, just PM me.

The Altel store here doesn't. I don't have Altel so I have never called their customer service, but since I see this same question asked for every other carrier and they all get the same advice I handed out, I assumed that all Altel stores were the same.
Sorry for "misinforming" someone, however, the fact that it has been programmed for sprint may cause him issues down the road... So again, I still think my advice of getting an Altel branded phone is the smartest option.

Wow thanks for the help anything else I should be warned of?
why would getting an alltel phone be any different than using a sprint/AT&T etc phone. They are all the same, just locked onto their networks for service. If he had bought an HTC Titan that was not branded to a carrier he would have the same luck as all others. Many people still buy unlocked out of the box phones. Most carriers will also add them to their services. The stores may not, but the phone people will. These companies are in business to make money and have customers and turning someone down because they don't get your free phone ain't gonna happen. Just don't tell them it was another carrier's phone.
First off AT&T is GSM, which means if the phone is unlocked you can just stick and sim card in there and bam, it works.
CDMA is different. I know I have looked at my QPST and EPST info pretty close, and there are many settings in there that are carrier specific, so that if you were to try to use it on a different carrier it wouldn't work very well. Phone most likely will work, but data is a different beast. I see dozens of people on here who flash a sprint rom on their verizon phone and accidently let customization run, once you've done this, rolling back to a verizon rom in some cases doesn't fix the problem, you have to go in and hand edit a lot of settings, the same could apply here, since Sprint apparently is different than most carriers.
I'm glad you've had luck getting other carriers phone's activated, and how many of those were smart phones? I bet most were just plain phones, in which case there isn't any problems.
I'm not gonna get in a flamewar with you, I stated my opinion, you stated yours, I feel yours is wrong, you feel mine is wrong. Lets leave it at that.
As to the OP, feel free to try to get it activated, heck, it might work, but if it doesn't, then again, get the correct carrier branded phone and you will have no problems!

One question am I able to just get the service information from my razr and use that? and if so how do I do that.
actually I am not flaming, and not stating opinion. I am stating fact. If you buy a stock HTC phone w/o contract, which would be unlocked. You can get it activated on any carrier that supports its network CMA or GSM. Smartphone or regular phone. The point is to not tell them it was from another carrier.

the link to the 3rd file you listed is broken... is there anywhere else to get that file? i've tried to google it but i cant get the whole filename from the link to do so.
Thanks for any help
Actually it can be done. I done it today with no problem. Just because the epst and qpst settings are carrier specific doesn't mean that they cant be changed. What I will say is that after you have unlocked the phone and finally have your # activated on alltel via esn your sprint mogul will be functional. you have to update the prl so u wont be stuck in roaming and your data package will be disabled because Sprint uses a different server address. In order to change these settings you will use both qpst to set in hard settings and back everything up and then epst to keep the settings within the phone. the reason you wont have data has to deal with the Security and M.IP settings. its a lot to type so im not going to but if im on at any time you can pm me to walk you through it or even better you can reach me on yahoo messenger. its set within my phone as well so I can give you real time help with the settings on the spot. My messenger name is seraphazaziel79 as well.
I bought a Qwest phone sometime this Spring and I was trying to get it activated on Verizon. I flat out told them it was from another carrier, they put that in my customer file and copied down the ESN so when I called back and told them that it was a XV6800 they called me out on it. Basically lie to them from the beginning and you should be good. If they won't activate it you can sell a Sprint phone on ebay. My Qwest phone makes a pretty decent paper weight.

Htc touch pro texting not working

First of all you guys rock! This forum is the best. Now to the point. I have a Touch pro from Alltel. I flush it to Metro but never call metro to activate. I installed the Mighty Rom and when I call Verizon (which bought Alltel) and activated the phone. Everything worked good but the texting. I called verizon and they did whatever but nothing. Master reset and nothing. I tried to flush back the factory rom, but showed error. Any Ideas?...

It may be rom specific for instance on NFSF's 1.04 6.5 rom i have the same issue, but because your moving from one carrier to another defanitly check your nam settings and carrier specfic settings. ##778 or using qpst/cdma workshop. Thats my suggestion. By calling providers and "activating" the phone all there doing is locking in your MEID and ESN to have service routed to that specific phone. So if your calling and such is working it may not be related to the carrier, unless your txt's are being delayed due to there network which is highly unprobable.
Thanks for the answer, I checked but I don't know what should go in the nam for Alltel. Can anyone give the info to do it. Thank you.

sprint to vz - so close but 1 problem!

I have unlocked the phone using the multicolor bootloder.
installed a vz rom, the esn has been repaired to a current vz phone, the meid has been wiped to all 0's, the spc code is 000000 like needed.
also set epst settings like found on a post on ppcgeeks
public dmu key?
the .prl is now 51099 - *228 .... option 2...... "Im sorry but we are unable to program your phone at this time"
HELP!
edit: currently bettin its because im lacking a data plan.
ok i have to first state the this is illegal which is stupid but if you were to get it to work you would have to clone the imei from a currently working verizon phone to your sprint touch pro... you'd then have to call customer service from the verizonized touch pro and tell them that you need a new a-key... once the phone is verizonized don't ever use any of the *228 options... pm me if you have any questions

uhmmm... imei only applies to GSM phones. CDMA phones have either ESN or MEID (pESN). As far as the legality of the issue, it is done this way to prevent fraud.
You are correct about the A-Key though. However, if the OP is going to go through the hassle of calling VZW, he might as well just ask for the NAM parameters directly (MIN, MSID, and HomeSID)

Got Scammed with htc raider but can i fix it

Hi
i bought a htc raider from kijiji locked with rogers. the person who gave me the phone told me that it is locked with rogers so at the spot i just checked the functions like wifi etc and nothing much. after when i inserted the rogers sim card it did not recognize the sim card and still said no service. there were not signals coming and there was a cross on top of the bars. i tried it with other rogers sim card and the same problem. went to setting about phone network and every thing was disabled . i reset and hard reset but the same problem. i tried to get the imei number by pressing *#06# it just showed the letters"IMEI" but there were no numbers beneath it. i went to setting to check the imei number but nothing was mentioned there either. there was a imei number pasted on the rogers box and under the battery so i called up rogers to ask about the phone and they said it was refurbished phone and it is out of warranty so they cannot help me out.
is it a possibility that the guy tried to unlock the phone and could not do it correctly. is there any ways i can do some thing about the phone. every feature is working fine but the every thing related to calling features. its like now a ipod of android
please help me. if unlocking , unrooting is the option please tell me or paste a link to do that. if you require more information to resolve this issue please mention in the comments and i will let you guys know
thank you

lg k8+ x210 ulm unlocked carrier sim issues

I have an lg k8+ model x210ulm that i want to use with cricket. The phone is fully unlocked and will accept any sim from any carrier but has an odd behaviour that wont let me use my own sim.
I bought a feesh sim from cricket and when i put it in and set it up it will register with crickets apn and mobile network settibg. I get data and it shows up in the about network as connected and working. It shows cricket carrier in notificstion and i can get texts and even voice mail. But ........
I cannot use the dialer. Upon connection there is no error toast or anything it just imnedistely hangs up.
I can use my wifes my sons or my friends sims in the phone and after a reboot works perfectly. But when i put mine in it stops.
Also my sim works fine in any other unlocked device or cricket device.
Any clue as to wth is going on
Ok so after talking to lg and really that was frustrating. Why because the rep told me it the phone was carrier locked to us cellular which i knew it wasnt because its advertised as being unlocked and well us cellular put up an advert a few years ago stating that all thier phones are unlocked.
So after that i went ahead and talked to a rep at us cellular who assured me it was unlocked and checked the imei for me and sent me link to the advert about thier phones being unlocked.
Back to lg and got another rep this time who knew a lil about something but not much. Could not tell me any thing though.
Now back to cricket where we tested my girlfriends sim in my phone to which it worked and mine in her phone to which it worked. We put the sims in my aristo 2 and fortune 2 and both sims worked. But when i put my sim back in my my k8+(2018) once again every thing works fine but you cannot make or recieve phone calls.
We also tested the voice mail app and and thier what qualifies as a carrier app and it registers. The sim registers in about phone shows service and is connected. Shows the phone number every thing works.
Just not the phone Dialer app
So is there any one out there at all that has had an issue like this before. Any one that can help me figure out what the problem is. This is so crazy that my sim wont work and every one elses will.
Could it be something i did using dialer codes? Any cLues at akl
So here we are months later and im still having sim issues with my k8+ ulm. I ended up buying a brand new device and i tried my provisioned sim card with it not working but literally every other sim card works fine.
I have switched from cricket to assist wireless now who is run or what ever by sprint and i can get the sim card to work for a couple days before switching it to another phone but the main issue is that i get a error popup stating that the sim card has locked and that i need to power cycle and call customer service.
But i made a ton of changes by adding all the system apps from sprint including sprinthiddenmenu and any other apk that was on the tribute dynasty they came from. I also went through the file system and made any prop changes or any thing else that was needed to enable sprint.
At this point id flash a sprint modem but i cant find a cv1 device provisioned under sprint
