hey is this application work for anyone cuz mine keeps giveing some errors that server not found?
I have exactly the same problem - something about time zones or not able to connect to the server.
so is there someone that coul help us with the settings or something to do so that the update program to work?
Windows Update isn't working here, too (got the S740 unlocked from a german store). It says exactly:
Error

As it is connected with a PC and synchronized via ActiveSync, date and time are correct. I have the misgiving, that it's perhaps not working with internet via Wifi/USB but only with GPRS (would be really dumb and unlogical)?
I would give it up - so far Windows Update never worked on any HTC device mostly because HTC did not issue any updates this way (yes, this update service is/should be provided by HTC, not by Microsoft).
What we need more now is ROM update/cooking, and for this we need HardSPL...
what's needed to get HardSPL?
A very skilled hacker (and programmer?) with deep knowledge of Windows Mobile platform, especially related to bootling process and stucture of the flash inside our beloved Rose.
After his work is done, all you need is to run a program on the device and on the computer.
The problem is, so far no hacker took our device in his hands to work in CIDunlock (HardSPL).
Cmonex is!
Yes Yes Yes - I wrote the message before reading the information about progress in that thread. I keep my fingers (and phones) crossed!

They basically told me you guys over here at this forum are more intelligent in this area. I've searched this forum and couldn't find any solutions to this problem so I have posted this message with hope that it will be solved.
Here is a copy of my message I posted on www.clubimate.com

This is absolutely rediculous. After upgrading to 1.66 my iMate has stopped working entirely. After talking to iMate support on 4 different occasions, I've gotten the same responce over and over.
Here it is:
Dear Mr. Dustin,
Regarding the online chat, please find below the necessary steps to reload your device with the ROM image.
1. Make sure your I-mate Pocket PC is not connected to the PC
2. On your Desktop PC, open Microsoft ActiveSync, then go to File > Connection Settings > Remove the Selection from “Allow USB Connection… “
3. Make sure your Device is on Boot loader Screen* (start up screen)
4. Reconnect your I-mate Pocket PC to the Desktop PC using the USB Cradle and the Charger MUST be Connected to the Cradle ( Don’t use the IrDA for the Upgrade )
5. Run the Upgrade again and it will work fine without any problems
*Boot loader Screen – Hold the navigator button (round button in the middle of the answer/hang up buttons) and do a Hard Reset (Hold the power on/off button while pressing the small whole button on the bottom left of the device) simultaneously.
For any clarifications/queries, please do fell free to contact us and we shall be glad to be of assistance to you.
Regards
Sunil Kumar

Each time I've replied with "I've already done that and it still doesn't work. The rom update errors when it tries to update the radio image. Then it doesn't complete the rom update and the imate still doesn't work. No matter what I do or what version I try to update to it always gives me an error during the rom update. I can't even get into my phone anymore. I now have a $850 paper weight and tech support that isn't even worth a dime. I've talked with Ali and Karl at iMate Support both were unhelpful and eager to get me off the line. Ali even told me to call him tomorrow because he had to go home!!!! You call that tech support?
Now for the last time here is my problem:
[ul]
[*] My iMate will not boot past the blue screen.
[*] I've followed the steps above of disabling usb on activesync and installing rom
[*] 30 Minutes into the rom install (right where it starts doing the radio update) it errors.
[*] The error comes from the rom setup, not the imate, not activesync.
[*] The error tells me to do the above steps and try the rom update again.
[*] Once again the radio part of the rom update fails and tells me to try again.
[*] Infinite Loop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[/ul]
I apologize for being angry, but this device is crucial to my job and is costing me thousands of dollars in lost sales and marketing revenue while it doesn't operate.

When you run the ROM update, are you still trying to run the 1.66.131 ROM? If so, you might want to try the 1.52.113 ROM to see if you can at least get your device back.
When the Radio update failed how far did it get into the Radio update, (what percentage?)
I had a similar problem when trying to downgrade, the Radio failed at 12%, (which I was told was a security feature)... either way, what I did was in this...
1.66.131 - Update, (which worked for me)
1.03.00 - Downgrade (which failed at the radio stack and would not boot)
I then went into bootloader, (reset, power, up) and you should see Serial/USB 1.01 screen...
Then put the device in the cradle and ran the 1.52.113 'update' and the device was fine (back to 1.52.113)
I had a similar problem were the upgrade failed part way through updating the Radio stack (after the Erase).
Fortunatly the main ROM had upgraded OK and I simply hard reset and started again.
Some things I have noticed:
1) Never leave the PC unattanded - stop it from going into screen saver
2) Make sure all programs are shut down on the PC - Too much activity causes my USB ActiveSync link to close
3) Close Firewall software - I use ZoneLabs and the upgrade hates it
Just a few things to try
The other thing you can try is performing the ruu when the device is in Bootloader. Press and hold power, the Actio key (in the middle of the Joystick) and soft reset.
Connect your device to the PC and run the ruu update.
That should work.
Where do I get a RUU for iMates? iMates website doesnt have one.
Also the radio stack update fails at the beginning of the erasing part, it is still at 0% when it errors.
The clubimate site does have the RUU for both 1.66.131 and for 1.52.113, goto Tools\Device\iMates\Full Device etc...
Its towards the bottom...
Yes that is the same update that gives me the error when I get to the Radio stack part of the update. It leaves me with a 1.66 rom and a blank radio and protocol version (if you were to look in device information).
??
Did you recently get your device? Did it come with 1.66.131. if not, then this really should have worked; unless there is something actually wrong with your device? Did you possibly put a different ROM on before the 1.66.131 like a TMobile, or MDA or O2 rom, or a 1.60.x derivative?
Also, you could try this....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7384&highlight=
This is a link to the ORIGINAL ROM 1.03.00, but this DOES NOT work for me, but it did get as far as erasing the Radio Stack, (maybe if it can erase yours the other updates will be able to continue)....
Upgrade fails during radio upgrade
I had this same problem when I was upgrading my O2 Rom. Now, I have had just about every possible ROM on my system and have had to revert back to the original and before being able to install and upgrade a few of them.
Assuming you have done all of this, I did have success with a phased upgrade. The upgrade executable creates a folder in the temp directory. I moved this folder to my desktop and launched the upgrade program directly from my desktop but each time only putting one rom file in the directory. There are three (One for extender, OS, and Radio) By doing it one ROM at a time I was able to have success.
Just another idea.

i own i-mate PDA running under Windows Mobile 2003 offcours.
i know everything about programs and how to work with it....
but before one month i heared about Windows Mobile 2005 ... so i used bearshare programe to download it and it success ...
i get these files:
- HimaUpgradeUt.exe
- nk.nbf
- Active Sync 4 setup.exe
then i make backup of my needed files, and i didn't check about any information about my rom version or anything else.
i started the upgrading steps,,,, using HimaUpgradeUt.
and i finished it very will... then i make Hard Reset (as the programe told me) ....
i-mate boot screen appears
then this error comes out:
Device authentication faiure. Please contact the product manufacturer. For reference, please provide your device ID.
0025367000381951 38000050bf3f5173
and the bluetooth led is working, and nothing comes...
this is the big big big problem, so i forced to buy another mobile to use it untill i fix my PDA
i want someone to help me to restore my operating system, or to fix this problem....[/b]
I have a AT&T 8525. I installed 2.10 Olipro and then flashed with the latest AT&T WM6 upgrade from this site. It was labelled as the "official" upgrade.
The upgrade went well and everything seems ok (though it feels a bit more sluggish and I thought it would noticiabley increase speed of apps etc.)...anyway my Activesync is simply not working with this phone anymore. It doesn't recognize it when I plug in with the cable. This makes it hard for me to re-install a different ROM or any other app.
Bluetooth can see the phone, but, again, it doesn't seem to want to make an Activesync connection....please help...thanks in advance.
try deleting existing relationships. and create a new one. most likely because of your current upgrade, your DEVICE ID has been changed.
I actually have no relationships in Activesync right now.
I'm loading a fresh copy of Activesyn on my wife's computer to see if I can get a relationship established on a new install.
Any other ideas...I'm all ears!
you should be creating one.. its most likely because your DEVICE ID has been changed. have you checked it?
I have the same problem
The problem apears when I connect the device to the computer "USB Device Not Recognized".
Tested in another computer with same results...
It seems to be some driver issue, but I have no clue where to start...
I have a HERM200 (TyTN) unlocked and activesyn was working when the device OS was WM5. fter the upgrade, does not recognize anymore...
It's working now
After the OS upgrade, needs to turn off (for real) and turn on again. It works sweet.
Need to remember: MS Windows DEvices needs MS Solutions - Reboot !

Hello everybody.
I have some questions regarding my new Niki.
1.: What is the difference between HardSPL 1.16 and HArdSPL 1.15-mfg ?
One of the developers recommendet hardspl 1.15-mfg, but i wasn't able to install it. It installed hardspl 1.16 earlier and just ran the 1.15-mfg exe later. It flashed OK but when flashing radio afterwards, the screen still said "HArdSPL 1.16". PLease enlighten me.
2.: Has anybody ever tried to build an 20 key hardware keyboard to a 16 key niki ? i have my niki from t-mobile and i dont need the f*cking wnw and email key
3.: Can I go online over BT ? (I know, no customizing questions sry.)
Thanks in advance for you help
Best regards, Paul
1. the hardspl 1.16 is the oldest and the first hardspl. the 1.15mfg have special commands for futur development and enhanced hacks, like SIM Unlock.
For normal OS flashing ... you dont need 1.15mfg!
your error is ... you havent read the thread carefully ... to over write a hardspl, you need start a sspl first and then you can overwrite it. hardspl is protected ... this is why you cant easy flash a new over it :->
2. try it ... i think it works ... tell use you experience!
3. what you mean? online with what? laptop? yes ... its possible!

Do I have to make anys Software modification ?
Or does the Niki recognize the hardware Keyboard model and changes the Layout automatically ?

No, the other way around . GPRS and UMTS is ridiculously expensive with my provider. But I got it to work by configuring BT ActiveSync. Unfortunately, it has to be initiated by Hand on the phone every time.
Does anyone know a software solution for automatic ActiveSync over BT (like with the cable).
Is there a program that disables BT radio when the phone is in standby (display off radio on)?
1. he regonize the right kayboard and start the right drivers ... try it!
3. if you are in the activ sync mode ... all ip transfer runs over your PC ... buy a other dataplan from you provider!

1. just ordered the Keyboard, i'll keep you up-to-date .
3. Thats exactly what i want ... IE synch up all my RSS Feeds / ActiveSync and Stuff while I'm at Home.
But I'd like to have BT all the way enabled so that I don't have to remember starting BT and starting ActiveSync everytime i come home.
I think I will try to implement sth like:
- Once an hour, startup BT
- and scan for devices
- if my Home PC is found, start Active Sync Connection
- after 2 Minutes, kill BT Connection
I think with this scheme the battery will go a long way AND I can just put the device somewhere near my Home in the evening and pick it up fully synchronised in the morning :-D.
I'm a software developer and when all the Interfaces are accessible with .NET Compact Framework and I don't find a solution on the internet, i will write it myself.
Any input on this topic would be highly appreciated (or get the Niki to talk WiFi (-: ).
best regards
Paul
you need to change the power profile of your bt connection. its a registry tweak! what settings you need ... i dont know :-> but i think ... easy to find!
