sorry to bother u all but a weird thing is happening with me
I was trying 2 flash my rom but it says"INVALID UPDATE TOOL" error 200...........through the SPL method..........
I have flashed my device a no. of times but this time it is not happening i have even reinstalled it..............
but of no use ............PLEASE HELP........
I think you have to download another utility to flash your gene. Maybe it's corrupted.
or may be its time to visit service center

Restart you comp.At the very same time, start your device.get it synced properly first.do not keep it in USB TO PC mode.make sure your device is in active sync mode.Then try.i have faced these errors many times.
just try what i say,u'll do good.

i hav resolved the update utility problem but ow i hav tried to update it in bootloader mode in using usb cable and mini sd methode flashing , in the same case it's stopped at 16%.Someone can say me how to do for my upgrade gone untill 100% ?

1. try changing USB cable.
2. redownload ROM, it may be corrupted.
yes but now i can't restart my xda. charges is on but don't wanna to start.and i hav ever try with usb cable.Wich rom do u think i hav to try if i can deblocked him ?
i done a brick test .it's ok.let's me know wich rom cuz all roms stop at 16%.thanks a lot

try downgrading first to original o2/MWG WM5 then flash to any cooked ROMs

did you remove miniSD when you flashed via bootloader?
yes .same result.
I mind me something after read forum and wiki.my device is not locked and i should done a cid unlock or a hard spl ?
Cuz i hav download all rooms and each stop at 14% same in mini sd and each time i got the spash screen.
Someone can help me about this

kind to flash by boot loader ( ACTION+SOFT RESET ) by USB cable ,if you use
SD card it risk to brick atom.

Thanks for posting, but as I already told you: I did my research...
So I already tried different FlashingTools, like ProphetTools etc.
When I SoftSPL, I get to the whitescreen but i cannot make my pc recognize the phone at my usb-port.
When I enter the 3-Colored-Screen manually it shows the usb-connectivity, but I cannot update the ROM...
There was a way (I cannot remember anymore which way I did it, cause I really tried very often) I entered the 3-Colored-Screen and there was "RUU" written in the right upper corner of the screen. But then again the connectivity doesn't work...
Also tried different usb-ports and cables...
I could say that I'm feeling like a weirdo, cause upgrading a rom seems easy and still makes my day miserable xD

260 IS A KIND OF CONNECTION ERROR,
PLEASE SOFTRESET AND TRY AGAIN!!!
1. FLASH NVID FIRST,
2. LAZY TOOL TO HAVE THE JOB DONE.

OK, rephrasing: the problem I had with my phone was that while a ROM update was running the phone would restart and I got the same error you did.
It turned out the battery was at fault, after replacing it with a new one - it works great.
If u do as dioxda2 says all should be fine. He is right in saying 260 is a connection error. That means unplugging all usb devices out of ur machine. It also means disabling all other connection software, like my raspberry program that display device screen when active sync'd. I always disable my anti virus and firewall (make sure ur not connected to internet at time).
i always ensure that the flashing tool is on the root drive, not in many folders (so place flash tool direct on ur main hard drive in its folder as uve unzipped) this itself can cuase connection errors. Ensure battery is 50% min too.

check this
open active sync in ur phone > tap on Menu > connections > and make sure that "synchronize all PC's using this connection" is checked and in drop down list USB is selected
my friend it is already as u have said...but only battery charging is working nothing more.

i think u need to install the recent windows mobile device center on ur comp u need to chek at the MS site and u will get this install the same on ur comp and u will be able to sync with ur Phone im not sure but i think u need this to synk WM 6.1 and above ROM im using it and it works ok for me U need to install on ur comp OK

as per your guide i go to the microsoft site but my friend device center is for vista and i m using window xp.....should i try that one plz clear my doubt

my bro i had done today 12.30 pm..but in vain....five days before i gone to surat i had flashed my gene with 6.5 sumit by usb..but after coming to home this thing happened

I am assuming you are using XP.
1. Right Click My computer->Properties->Hardware->Device Manager, keep it open.
2. Now Connect the Gene, did you see a new device in your list of USB Device / Unknown device ?
3. If yes, remove the Gene from cable, uninstall activesync, restart windows, install active sync. If that doesn't help, then you might have to reinstall windows LOL, but anyway its cheaper than the service centre .
4. If No, then try another system and see if some unknown device pops up in device manager or not.

first problem is flashtool is now saying scatter file is not LEGAL and then i get another saying brom error (1013) port fail... the preloader what was the big problem at first but i installed that after an hour or so...i just can not get this device flashed..nightmare...

I installed a custom rom in my A311 and it is in boot loop now. I tried to flash the stock rom using YGDP tool but it stuck in entering download mode. The phone is not detecting in computer. Then i tried to flash the files through SP flash tool v5.1424.00. It detects the phone and started flashing but after some time it shows an error and stoped. Please give me a solution to flash the stock rom. I can not enter in to recovery mode also. The phone is in boot loop now. Please help me.

Install VCOM drivers , google usb drivers & mt65xx preloader drivers on your pc and then flash it using YDGP tools
Dude I've tried SP flash tools hundred times, but it does not work.
So follow my steps.
Install YGDP tools.
Click config and click "select CPB file"
Then select the firmware file which will be in .CPB format.
Wait for 5 mins because the software will verify the cpb file.
Now turn off your phone and REMOVE THE BATTERY.
Click "Start" button in YGDP tools
Then connect the phone to the computer. (Do not insert the battery !!!!!!)
You will see that the flashing will start. DO NOT DO ANYTHING till it finishes.
When it shows Done, remove the phone, insert the battery and turn on the phone. Easy..
And press thanks...

Thank you for the reply. I tried the same but in ygdp it shows the message 'Entering download mode' and nothing happens then. It waits for long time to connect the phone. It does not detect the connected phone. I have all the drivers installed in my computer. I have already done installing the stock rom before when i have boot loops. But now, when i connect the phone without battery it do not detect it. In device manager it shows 'PreLoader USB VCOM (Android)' in ports for about 5 seconds and it disappears. When i connect the phone with battery it directly goes to charging mode and shows battery charging image. I dont know what is happening, please help me, if any other solution?
Anyone please any other solution. If it work anymore?? Please help me.

Man... I dont know what is the prob. I have recently tried this on a new computer and its working perfectly.
I think i will make a video and upload it..
yea, i too dont know, i have done flashing the stock rom using the ygdp tool several times before.. may be something went wrong in the phone..

Thanks friend shreyash.kanaujia.. It worked.. I tried it from my lap top :good:. It was a clue that you told me that you tried it from a new computer. I installed all in my desk top pc and was working on that one before. Just now i installed all drivers and everything in my lap and it worked. Thank you so much for that clue... Otherwise my phone will be a paper weight.. Thank you. And one more time, thanks for all others replied on this thread.
There is one more thing shreyash.kanaujia, if you are making a video, please include a word for this situation also. If the phone is not detecting in a computer any more, those ones have to try it from a new computer.
