Is there an easy way to check if my phone is unlocked? I ran the Olipro unlocker on my Fuze but I don't have a Tmobile SIM to check it with. Is there a way I can check it without doing that?
atcommander
Please read this thread

I tested it and it works on my phone (sig)
command is "[email protected]?AA
Answer 0=unlocked
Answer 1=locked
I can't figure out how to get MTTY to run on my PC. Have a walkthrough for me?
you have to run atcommander.exe on your phone
and then type "[email protected]?40" and hit send
it will reply "0" or "1"
0=unlocked
1=locked
I posted the wrong link
this is the richt one , please read the link

Hello,
I've been researching the Hermes BootLoader, the ROM Upgrade Utility issues a "info 3" command and gets some data and a checksum. This data is then used by the RUU to generate a dynamic password, then the RUU issues the command "password XXXX" and starts the upgrade process.
As this password is dynamic, you can't access the BootLoader in "privileged?" mode, but I don't know which bootloader commands are privileged.
I researched this because without password you cannot use command "d2s" or "s2d" to make ROM backups to SD, but after discovering how to access the bootloader with the correct password it is also not possible to issue these commands
BTW, in the attached file is described the method I used to access the bootloader with correct password. If someone could provide more information on the Hermes Bootloader, please reply to this topic or write a wiki article!
Enjoy!
I've written a page on the wiki with information on the Hermes Bootloader, if you find anything incorrect or missing feel free to edit

LOL! Thanks, will try that with the Hermes when I'm back home

I tried it with the data on the wiki, and it produced the same password, so it's likely to work
If you want me to send the program I used for debugging, send me a PM with your email/IM address and I'll contact you
After booting my TYTN in Bootloader
okay I think i am going to have to send my tytn back. After loading my TYTN in bootloader I did and info 8 and got the current print out. I think that it is tell me that my extended ROM is shot. Does any one know what this means? and can you tell me how to re-format my extended ROM?
I was going to post the results but made the post to long. the results are in the attached text file and help greatly appreciated

Tried the algorithms on the Hermes and the bootloader password and radio-password were deciphered correctly Thanks TheBlasphemer!!
Full usb log here (zipped text file).
@LuckyBos: this thread is for discussing bootloader password, if you want to ask other questions about the bootloader not related to passwords please post a new topic. Btw, try to flash a new rom and see if info 8 still shows the errors, if it does post a new topic about it
where is the posix password generator?
This method will not work on bricked hermes caused by telstra wm6 because non of the WM5 shipped roms would work on these bricked hermese. considering this issue that ROMUpgradeUT.exe only appears to be inside of the WM5 Roms and not in the wm6 shipped roms and ROMUpgrade.exe cannot connect to these bricked hermese that was caused by wm6 ROMs.
does it mean that we can flash a rom to our bricked phone under wm5?
i just unlocked my 8525 and trying to mtty, but when using mtty.exe and i hook it up exact settings and instructions when it connects it says CLIENTCLIENT then i hit the I to type info and i get CLIENT again.
what does that mean? thanks!

to upgrade your SPL. This should fix your problem.
Cheers...
Is there a way to find out your CID on a bricked Hermes?
How do we amtch CIDs with providers?
"info 2" or "info 4" bootloader commands, depending on how bricked it is.
You can extract a rom from your provider and see which CID it has... or just ask for example "what is the cid for spanish vodafone 1605?" and someone will reply "VODAP304".

Form mtty I guess. If I run these, I get gibberish. I know that my rom doesn't match CID of the unit for sure..
Thanks for the input, appreciated.
Unplugged and started again, and was able to get readable info... strange. Thanks anyhow.
Odd... when I provide a ROM using the bootloader and ROM on the transflash card, it check it, then says not allow. When I use a ROM that is from the proper CID, it goes right away to the tri-color mode without flashing. Anyone seen that? Why couldn't I re-program ?
Any insight would be appreciated.
1) Read this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Unbrick
2) if you are not able to figure out yourself with 1, then post here, and include your bootloader version, etc... so we know more about the problem.

Hi Pof,
According to the chart, I would need to send it in... No KITL and No GSM.
I have SPL 1.09, IPL 1.01. Radio 1.40. It was running the WM6 rom, and tried downgrading to provider's WM5 rom. The CId is QTEK_001. I can run hard reset, I can get into bootloader. Unit responds to mtty.
When trying to apply the ROM <RUU_Hermes_HTC_WWE_2.05.255.1_6275_1.34.00.10_108>, it reads the file... checks it like stated, but then give me a not allow. :-S
Not sure if this has any meaning, but the not allow windws says at the top, quickly, 00028002.
Hi i unlocked my Athena and i want to know if there is any way to find out if I have CID UNlocked it???? I wana know before trying to get WM6 onto it. Oh and does anyone have the WM6 Upgrade that works? i would like to add it to mine if there are any nice people out there with a link to it???
put it in bootloader mode, disable activesync, run mtty, execute task 32.
was there any point in me telling you that? I doubt it.

If you read through the forum, you'll find out that you don't need to unlock your phone in every case just to get WM6 installed...only in some cases. Give reading a try and see what wonders are out there. ;-)

Yes, there is an easy way to tell if you are SuperCid. I beleive Olipro gave you the way to do it. Download mtty.exe. Disable USB activesync, put your PDA into bootloader. Connect with mtty and issue task32 if you receive CID=0 , you are supercid, if you receive FF you are not.
It will also tell you what your cid is...HTC__001 is an HTC advantage, and TMOB__001 is tmobile, etc
Just read the wiki, and search for MTTY.exe and mtty commands. Rally simple once you have read up on it.

And there is possibility that you will go into black screen after you soft reset. If that happen you need the flash rom again (based from my experience)
Hi,
I have a Tilt, the ROM version is: 1.57.502.2, Radio version: 1.27.12.11. I am trying to downgrade the phone to WM5 or to one of the cooked roms published on this site. I have spent hours reading the WIKI section and many posts. I have tried to install the HARD-SPL however in the begining I had the white screen problem. After using the JUMPSPL, I think that I have managed to install the Hard-SPL (The version that the bootloader shows is: SPL-1.0.Olipof.
I have also unlocked the phone and the CID using tools available on this website. I have no way to check if the unlock works since I do not have another SIM with me right now.
The problem that I am having is that every time I try to install a ROM, I start the upgrade wizard, and get to the point where the phone shows a promt that asks me if I want to approve the execution of a file. I confirm it and then the phone reboots, shows the AT&T logo right away and reloads everything. I do not see the bootloader and after around 60 seconds I get the 260 error on my computer telling me that there is an update error and that the update utility could not access my PDA phone.
I have also tried to get into the bootloader manually, then connect the USB while ActiveSync is open and load an ATT rom (It's an older one with WM5 provided by Cingular) however I get the same results...
Can anyone give me some guidance? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Joe
P.S. The computer's OS is windows XP, I have turned of the Anti-Virus Scanner (AVG)
FYI this section is for the Hermes/8525, you need to check out the Kaiser/8925/tilt section of this site.

Sorry, my mistake. I can't delete my first message however I will change the subject so the moderator will erase it.
