Hi All,
Got my HTC hero and alls been well untill i got frustrated with the qwerty input! So I investigated how to swap over the settings to phonepad T9 mode, Success under the Text settings, under Chinese options. Untill i went to type a message and its gone back to qwerty !! Check my options and it still remains on the new setting. Why is this??? Also is it because my factory ROM is Singapore? If how would I get an offial HTC rom (European) to install on my device?
Thanks, Im running 2.7

Hello,
yesterday I quite successfully installed WM6 on my German SDA II. I used the 1010 ROM form this Thread: WM6 for SPV 550 and it was quite effortless. I had to restart mtty for a couple of times but finally it worked and the phone wasn't bricked. Greatest obstacle during the installation phase was to change the language from Chinese to English.
The phone works well, but since I bought it just yesterday I can't compare the OS to the previous one. To me it seems OK.
Until now I encountered some problems while using the phone:
First there is no Java included in the ROM, so I had to install and modify IBM's J9 (had a minor vribra issue with that).
Secondly, I cannot access voice commands, the phone just doesn't do anything.
And finally, t9 annoys me while writing messages. On my other smartphone, a Wm2003SE device, I can use the *-key to cycle through all input modes. This doesn't work with the 1010 ROM, instead it shows me a list of symbols in between which is annoying when you (at least try to) use correct upper and lower case writing.
Regards,
Dirk
Has anyone a solution for the t9 issue? That's a thing that really bugs me.
Dirk
read read read, it was be many times .....
Don't misunderstand me: I have t9. But on my WM2003 phone I was used to cycle through the options (abc/Abc/ABC/123/t9/T9/T9) by pressing the *-key. This still works for abc and so on but I cannot switch from t9 to T9 because then the same list of Symbols like on the #-key appears, meaning that I have to close the list, hit the key again.
Dirk
just hold "*" for the list ?
I was confused by the list. But now I just realized that I have to hit * once more, the list will go away and everything works as expected.
I also talked to the friend of whom I bought the phone and he tells me that it now works *much* faster; e. g. the camera took a while to start, now it's just a blink of the eye.
cu,
Dirk
Hi guys,
After updating my ROM to 3.14 I have discovered a problem with the SMS-module and the phone keyboard and I wan't to know if I am the only one with this problem? (Maybe it is not a problem but just a change in how the Sense works now?!)
When typing the word showed in the message box is gibberish (e.g. "hello" shows as "gdjjm") while an actual word is only showed in the green suggestion box. Before the update the word in the message box and the green box was the same until you chose another one of the suggestions.
Thanks!
Hi all!
When I installed the Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my SGS2 yesterday (YAY!!!!) I had, at some point, removed the numbers on the top row of my keyboard. I don't remember playing with any settings, it seemed to come stock with the mod. I had to reinstall a few times and wipe clean everything and now that my phone is fully functionnal under Cyanogen, I'm unable to redo that.
So, does anyone know how to change the keyboard settings so that when I hold the E letter, the first thing that pops up is not a friggin 3?
So far I tried changing the keyboard input langage to French (Canada) and the interface langage as well to French (Canada) but to no avail
Hi guys,
Been having a problem with the soft keys (only on full qwerty) on my HTC Incredible S.
Strangely the P, 0 and backspace on the phone dailer started giving me problems about 2 days back. They refuse to be pressed in portrait mode, but work fine when the phone is in landscape.
Also cleared the cache in the Touch Input Application (was thinking of reinstalling this apk if anyone could help pass it to me).
Tried alternative keyboards (Go, thumb something), all have the same problem.
I had been using the ARHD rom for a couple of months until this happened. Flashed 2 others ROMS to see if the problem would go away but and am still having the same problem.
My options are either to live with it or to S-On the device again and go for a warranty claim, but wanted to check if anyone else here had any suggestions?
Okay so, ive got an odd problem on my phone today, The standard message app stoped working, i'm from sweden so i use the swedish keyboard, basicly we have the keys Å Ä Ö, but that one doesn't work anymore, example: when i type M for example i get a V, all keys are mixed up.
These problems came after i simply restarted my phone, all i did was restarting it. I never messed with my phone with like rooting etc so i don't think i did any problems there.
I called Samsung and they told em to reinstall the phone to fabrik version, done it a few times and some other things but nothing works.
Anyone know what the problem may be and how to fix it? I don't reallycare about the message app, just downloaded anotherone. But i really need teh swedish keyboard, currently using US so i can't type Å Ä Ö.
Thanks in advance!

So a factory reset did not work? I know its not the ideal solution but could you not just download another keyboard to use.
You could always reflash the stock firmware using odin this does not require root due to being a stock firmware. there are tutorials on here for this.
