Try turning it on with the power button and the second you see any life hold down home.
I don't think this will work but it might be worth a try.

its already in recovery, you have adb debugging enabled before update?
Try this in a CMD Window..
adb devices
if it works you could be ok

adb shell flash_image recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.3.1.img
oradb shell flash_image recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.3.1.img
I cant remember which soryy, but one should work!

device not found
Hi! I am in the same s..t so I tried it all
some people managed to do this and get it working again :
-On the PC, i ran the command 'fastboot boot recoveryimage.img'.
-At this point the command says 'waiting for device' (or something like that).
-I removed the battery.
-I Connected USB.
-I inserted the battery.
-I booted the phone while holding the HOME key.
-The phone still froze at the first splash screen, but then suddenly, the waiting fastboot command detected the phone and booted the recovery image! Yay!
MINE IS EXACTLY LIKE THE YOUTUBE VIDEO and it didn't!
Any other sugestions?
[email protected]

yea i think u have different problems, his goes to recovery.yours is doing the same as my Sapphire which is being collected by HTC tomorrow for repair pressing HOME+POWER will not get to fastboot! it will take you too recovery

and finaly the FIX
finally some one knew how to fix my HERO!
a guy with a lot of electronics knowledge and a device that connected directly to the matherbord and wiped the rom and rewrote it!
rom gets stock if you are smart enough to flush it with the wrong update (CMDA ta a GSM phone)!
so that's the only solution for this kind of situations!

Thanks for all answers. But only kind to solved this is with JTAG to Motherboard.
Thanks!

same issue here
Hi everyone
I've got the same problem showed in that video. Could you guys help me out? Is JTAG the only way? My mobile simply can't be recognize on Windows and ADB just doesn't list the device...
I've tried every key button combination, but all I got is that Out of the Box image (seems like it's the background of the recovery mode or smthg)
I got my phone charged from USB (from my notebook) but windows doesn't recognize it, even if I dloaded the drivers for it.
Any suggestion would be of great help
Thx a bunch

[REQ]Help me recover from a soft brick/ I will donate.

I know there is threads about this, but I am having troubles, I will be willing to donate $20 to anyone who can help me. I am hoping it will be relatively easy............. I shouldn't have said that.
I loaded a bad framework-res.apk on my phone, and now it won't boot.
I have read DG's thread on recovering from the brick, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
In order to get the framework loaded I used root explorer to copy it over, because I couldn't get ADB to push the file. (I know, if I couldn't get ADB to work why would I muck with it....)
Now the first step in his guide is to boot into fastboot and wait for adb to work, then use superoneclick and hit 'shell root'
well, I can load into fastboot, but adb consistently says "error: device not found" or it doesn't list anything when I check devices. The troubles I was having before with adb were with pushing files, I could still see the device and pull files.
When I did the superoneclick step it ended up freezing the program, and I am not sure what is supposed to happen with fastboot but all it said was starting fastboot protocol support then did nothing.
I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this problem, I do have a backup framework on my computer and on the external sd card in the phone.
One thing I should note is that I did originally boot into the recovery mode, but all i did from there was reboot the phone (and go into fastboot mode).
Please help me! I have learned my lesson.

Do you have USB debugging enabled?
If you do, its possible to use adb by selecting Early USB Enumeration from boot menu. If not, you'll need to reflash using an SBF.
Come to my gtalk id texasdude11 and I'll help you out on chat.

from what i gather, it turns on, but won't fully boot into android.
by that token, early USB enumeration will allow ADB to work on the phone usually, but in this case i believe debugging was turned off before his device was bricked. so, he can't boot into full android UI, and also can't use ADB to push the restore files because debugging is off.
i've seen this problem with one person before, but i couldn't find a way to force debugging on without going into the UI, if someone can chime in with a way to turn debugging on without initial ADB access, or UI then this problem is solved and more than one person is helped.
Although - he can just reflash if he's on AT&T, if he's on Bell then he's SOL

Sorry, I obviously suck at giving info.
The phone boots but not past the moto screen, I get the flashing red lights and it reboots. I can get into recovery and fastboot (though I suspect fast boot isn't work right since it freezes almost instantly), I also cant see the device in adb while trying fast boot (or anything else for that matter). I could before it bricked.

NO IDEA.
Kenneth made me a script that did it all for me all I did was hit the space bar a few times.
Basically the problem seemed to be on this side of the keyboard.....
Moved to Q&A

The problem is that the script that ken wrote for the OP only restores the framework-res.apk file, and nothing else. If you really need this to recover from soft brick in the first place I'm not sure if you have the ability to edit it the way that is required.

Hey, thx for your response.
But on my phone are no kind of reaction at the screen. So I can't use the "SW Upgrade"-Mode =/
So if I connect my phone without battery to my PC I hear the USB-Connect sound but the entry in device manager is flapping.
What can it be?
If your phone answer at usb connect when battery is down that is a good sign. Try install omap drivers and flash custom recovery mode again. After u will be able to flash your stock soft again
The OMAP driver are still installed. The entry in device manager appear and 1-2 seconds later it disappear.
Im using Win7 64bit - is this the problem of OMAP?

It's most likely hardware problem. Send it for warranty repair, don't mention the bootloader or custom Rom .

I can't for the life of me get adb to recognize my max. It's Verizon, H-boot 2.46. Trying to root and unlock. I've tried everything here....nothing. A little help please.
Only thing I can suggest, because it's happened to me, is to make sure you have the correct, most current device drivers loaded on your PC.

What happens when you type adb reboot. Does it start and not find it or come back with command not recognized?

it doesn't find anything. I haven't been able to root s-off or anything because adb cant find my device. Do I need adb files in rumrunner folder on C drive to make it recognize it and work or what the hell am I doing wrong? I have rooted and s-offed every htc device I have ever owned...this one isn't working out. It's showing as a portable media player not android device. In the past I remember when I connected the usb I had the option to select media storage or connect as android.

my rumrunner folder was still in my downloads folder no where near my adb files and everything worked ok for me. also my Max shows up as a media device also but adb/fastboot still working fine. did you try to reinstall your adb with the link I provided in the above post, its the only thing that helped me when I was having pretty much the same problem as you.
you may also need to unlocked dev tools in your settings... have you done that yet

Have Win XP or server 2003?!?
This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49045175
Don't know if you guys ever got this issue solved or not. I'm having the same issue S-on, cannot get adb devices command to recognize my t6spr for the life of me. on Hboot 2.46, it will detect the USB device malfunction if I put the device in fastboot mode, but thats about it. Device manager shows Unknown USB (Device Descriptor Request Failed). Tried the KB update for devices that fail enumeration on Windows 8.1 for x64 but the update package said my system is not affected so that never installed. Tried the alternative miniadb pakage previously mentioned but didnt seem to have an affect installing fastboot, adb, and drivers, across the system universally. Just not having any luck apparently. I guess I could just sell the phone Tampered and Unlocked haha with no fingerprint scanner functionality, flash ViperRom or some other stock look alike ROM. Was just really hoping to go back completely stock. At one point it time I was trying different PCs to see if it was just a system issue for me. Occasionally it seemed like if I let it sit in Fastboot AC it would eventually get detected and flip over to Fastboot USB long enough for me to push a couple commands to the phone. I have the right RUU but it dosent do me any good if the computer cant see the phone haha. Now no computer seems to recognize it. It all seemed to happen after I tried to S-Off the device with Firewater's method. Idk if I bricked something because it never worked or changed a CID or some other ID to where the USB isnt recognizable, but all I can get this phone to do is take an electric current from the USB, lol thats about it. I thought I had it fixed enough to where I knew what to do if i absolutely needed to get fastboot to recognize the phone but now, nothing.
Just a curiousity question here....a bad usb cable can produce this also...read through posts didnt see anyone trying a new cable...

You may, I repeat MAY be able to use ADB Fastboot after extracting the boot and recovery images. I believe there's a thread here that may help you out.
Absolute worst case you can google other solutions, but you are definitely hard bricked...and you may have no choice but to RMA the phone. I would connect the phone to your computer for about 15 mins or so to put charge on battery then try "ADB Devices" command to see if ADB picks it up. If so you may be in luck and can use the thread mentioned to get the phone back to stock or at least to the point where you can go back and fastboot flash Recovery TWRP and then install a ROM of your choice. Again I emphasize you may be able to recover the phone from hard brick.
IF the above worked (and I can not guarantee it will) you should be able to Fastboot flash recovery TWRP or proceed on to the EMUI recovery.
Good luck! :fingers-crossed:

Lenovo Vibe K5 (A6020a40) Dead (or Bricked? ??) After Flashing Stock ROM

Hello. I have flashed my Lenovo Vibe K5, former build A6020a40_S004 to A6020a40_105, hoping for that VoLTE update. Following the proper steps and downloading the Stock ROM Firmware from trusted supplier, my phone won't boot into anything: recovery, or normal. Though the LED lights up when connected to a computer. However, it doesn't appear on my computer or hear that USB chime. I'm using a Windows 10 (which I've seen many have issues with Windows 10 and drivers) running on Bootcamp 6. I appreciate it if you guys could help me. Thank you very much.
By the way, I have no custom recovery installed. Just the basic Android System Recovery <3e> and I'm not that familiar with Android systems.

Well sorry to hear about that but I know very well how to recover from such situation. You'll need to flash the recovery IMG again so that it boots into recovery mode

Thanks! Can you tell me how? I've been researching about this as well for a long time now. Any help is appreciated.
Yes my bud. I will provide you the link shortly to some SDK tools so that you can flash your recovery IMG again and et access to recovery mode. I know that situation is chaotic and sucks but I am assuming that you aren't able to access twrp or anything.when you turn the phone on it gets stuck at lenovo and after few minutes it gets restarted on its own. And on connection g it to computer, it just doesn't get connected and nothing appears to be connected. I want you to take the battery out and place it again after few minutes and press the "vol down" button and "power button at the same time. You'll see the same lenovo icon but there will be something written in Chinese or something like that. Now connect your phone to your computer and I advise you to use a very good quality data sharing cable or original lenovo cable. Now your computer will recognise your phone as a hard drive or a storage device.i I'll try to upload a video on that too. Till then try these steps and lemme know if they work and your computer recognises your dead phone.if it does then there is still a hope left. BTW I was stuck in the same situation twice but thank god I saved myself and I am using my device. Note:- this method doesn't uses any software like " QFIL" or "QCOM" loader to flash stock firmware. Hope it works

Thanks a lot, man. Where the hell have you been all my life? Lol.
So my phone doesn't boot. It doesn't even show the Lenovo logo on it. Just mere darkness. :'(
I am going to Hong Kong later this week (this is where I bought the phone) and I don't know, maybe have someone fix it.
PS. Can you please DM me the links or if it isn't a loss for you you may just reply it here.
Thanks in advance and more power. The world needs more people like you.
Sincerely,
Justin

If yes then pls remove your phone battery and put it back and press the power button and the vol. down button hardly .if you see lenovo logo and something written in Chinese or something like that then you're on the way to get your phone back.just reply me the results soon bud

Hey man. Justin here, again.
You may reach me through "[email protected]".
It doesn't show anything. Though, the LED light illuminates when connected to a power source or laptop. I'm starting to think it's absolutely hopeless. But please do message me anyway.
Fondly,
Justin
I think you have hard bricked your phone but still let's try
