I've been on the xda forums for quite some now, and even after countless Searching, and trial-&-error attempts to manually "Update to 6.5" all have failed.
(Maybe because I was using Niki/Nike ROMs rather than NEON Specific ones)
I know my way around when it comes to Windows Mobile, but I do have my "dry-points".
Pretty much, to sum it up, are there ANY possible ways to upgrade a Neon 300 to WM 6.5? And if so, possibly link to a Step-by-Step guide. Due to me not fully understanding How to Upgrade via "Un-Official" ROM, a Guide would prevent me from smashing my phone against the nearest wall.
I don't care about minor issues (like the Camera), but a simple upgrade possibility would just make my day.
Enlighten me, please. Thank you for any information in advance.

tytn costs alot of money, if we wanted a brick, we would have gone to home depot and get it alot cheaper....

I'm not the first to complain about this, and then the OP responding to complaints with "Just looking for answers. If you are looking to have TouchFLO up and running on your 8525 read below
Please reference this link and install this schaps ROM. When you first install the ROM you will notice when you swipe your finger across the screen it only rotates the screen but you can modify FtouchFLO to open the cube.

I used TFloCubeCtrl to modify the cube...see the attachment.
I only tested the ROM on my 8525 all the credit goes to Schap for creating the ROM. I just wanted to inform you guys that it is working on the 8525

I am a US resident and an AT&T customer. I purchased the Nike on ebay and have already SIM unlocked the phone and it is working with my AT&T sim card.
My question is simple(I hope).
Which OS and Radio will work best in my situation?-I am no rookie to upgrading Windows Mobile cell phones as I have owned many.-I fully understand the risks to my phone and am prepared to face them.-I already understand that I am my own tech support thanks to the lack of support of this phone here in the US.That said, can anybody help me?

I know it is possible because I had a T-Mobile MDA and then the T-Mobile Wing on AT&T configured to AT&T's settings but the Dual isn't native to my country. I knew it would be more difficult but knew someone here, if anywhere, could help me.

i got niki off ebay as well and used it on AT&T for a few months before switch to T-Mobile. i used it with the original stock ROM and the Niki Project ROM. my signal wasn't always the best because there are areas near me that use the 850 mhz band but now that i'm on T-Mobile, everything is good.
if i were you, i'd try the Niki Project ROM. it's stable and fast.

Haha will do.
You don't need to flash the radio if you're not having problems with it. If it's not broken, don't fix it. (I read that from someone's sig)
But I second the suggestion regarding Niki Project ROM.. it's the best so far.

I was directed to this site by my "Verizon guy". I have a new xv6800. Dudes/dudettes, this phone is awesome. I was told that you could upgrade to different software and the phone would actually close apps, use less battery, have louder soundes, etc. I was told to look fo Dutty's Rom, but I guess this doesn't exist for this phone yet. I was wondering a few things. One could someone spend the time to "hold my hand" and walk me through upgrading...two reasons. One I don't want to kill my phone and two from reading other posts, it seems like you all are very knowledgeable. I may be able to offer money if this would motivate someone. (I know it may take time and effort). I have been using google and other threads to try and install bootloaders, etc but with no luck. I hope that someone is willing to help. This thread would also become a good step-by-step guide for all noobs.

Without the fundamental knowledge you will tank your phone. The questions you ask before you read are on a different level than those after you finish the wiki.
You may have a slightly different situation that may not be correctly answered by the first person that responds to your thread.
Read and then ask and we will be there for you.

Thanks so much, this worked perfectly. You really helped me out there. I noticed you have a donate button rather than a thanks button. First time I've seen this on a forum and I personally think it's a great idea. I've often wanted to make a gesture that's more than just a thanks.

I actually did. It seemed a little involved for my skill level. I was hoping someone came up with something easier like a one click app. Guess I better roll up my sleeves and start trying to learn this stuff. Anyway, thank you for replying.

It really isn't all that difficult. Read, go slowly and if you have questions post them on that thread and people will help. I have the SHT-W09 8 inch USA wifi and have posted the required patched image for 173 and 190. Perhaps someone will have the correct patched image for the firmware version you are running. If you have not unlocked the bootloader and cannot easily do that with your current firmware that will make it more difficult, but again there is a thread for that and people are willing to help.
