Please help, I think I bricked my HD2 v.didnt update radio - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I decided to get [ROM][WWE][9.Mar.2010]Leo lite 2.10/1.66 base (5.2.21895) 576 ram and got HSPL along with the 2.07 radios for use with 2.1
But I thought I could install the radios after flashing the rom, and now it wont boot up..
Is it bricked? Is there any way I can repair this?
I'm so worried right now

Take battery out, hold volume down whilst booting to enter bootloader. Connect to pc, install correct radio. You may need to drag the .nbh into the same folder as customruu. copy customruu.exe from rom you downloaded if you dont have it included with the radio you download. you need the .nbh and customruu in same folder.
Then just run it and everything will be super.

what radio have you flash???
rom with 576 Mb request radio 2.07 on higher,
but not last radio 2.09

If I read this right he hasn't flashed the radio at all so has a generic ROM radio. Its not a critical problem by any means and his phone will be up and running in no time.

This just solved my problem also. Thanks dude.

HD2 is extremely hard to brick but one you get it right, it gets as hard as a brick lol!
No seriously, as long as one can boot the HD2 in the "boot loader" mode (RGB color stripes) one can recover from any situation known to mankind
Cheers and enjoy your HD2
Faisal.

THe radio file i have is RUU_signed.nbh and i just installed hspl3 which worked grand ^^. the nbh radio file however, isnt recognised by either my pc, or my phone :/ really sorry if im asking dumb questions but i have come this far without asking one and im not coming up with anything with regards to the installation of the radio file :/ cheers for help if you can .

First, confirm that your spl is now 2.08.hspl (check in bootloader mode)
Next you need to flash the new radio file to your device. Read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477. You need to either have the ruu_signed.nbh file in a folder with the CustomRUU.exe and then run the exe or else rename to LEOIMG.nbh and flash via the sd card.

tks a lot bro... you made my day... really apreciate it..

Radio cannot be flashed, always stops at 0%

I was handed what looked like a brand new I-MATE JasJam, except I was told that it was crashing a lot and could not make phone calls.
After reading lots of different posts on this site I have determined that the Radio's firmware is corrupt. There is "NO GSM" on bootup and no IMEI being listed.
I have been trying the last few days to flash the radio with a new version of firmware but have yet to get past 0%. I have had success flashing the device with Black 3.5 but the radio is still not flashing.
I have simunlocked and SuperCID the phone with success and I have tred USB Monitoring when I attempted to flash the radio device and have seen "AUX_process-FAIL..".
Before I keep trying with alternative ways of programming the RADIO is there anything I can do to determine that the RADIO is physically installed and electronically responsive. My concern is that perhaps the radio's hardware is broken and no amount of flashing attempts will ever bring it back.
Currently
IPL - 1.01
SPL-1.40.Olipro (I can install 2.10 if required..)
CID=SuperCID (Level 0)
Can Boot to OS ? Yes
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi man,
welcome to club!we have same problem and haven't found the escape way yet.you can see it here( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338413) and share your experiences.I hope we can find the solution.
How say Hamed, welcome to the club...But first look instructions on the wiki. For me and Hamed, there is no solution for now. Mean on the software way, to solve problem.
Hi
Used to happenb to me. I always flash bu sd card way. Just put the radio image on sd card in nbh format. Rename it to HERMIMG and go into bootloader. It will put the radio on. Alayas fails for me when i use the customruu
your radio bootloader is dead, you're basically screwed.
Thanks, thats all I wanted to know.
Appreciate your time.
Its not dead. Use the sd card method. My phone is back from the dead !

Sorry I think you misunderstood. All im saying is that mine used to stop at 0% Every single time using windows to flash. I started using the sd card and it would freeze as well but kept trying and trying and eventually it would start to flash. Usually on sd card method it would freeze around 12% but then eventually go on and update success.. Try the sd card way and it may work. Remember I had the same problem , no gsm , no imei etc

Indie, can you please tell us which rom you try to flash via sd card? Are you use nbh tool v101 to extract shipped rom, only radio part on sd card, or you boot completely rom t-mobile wm 6 (which version???)? Please give to us details.

I would flash the htc official wm6 rom, or get any of the extracted radio roms from the wiki. Now i have the official tmobile wm6 rom uk rom somewhere on this site. I just put the radio or whole rom in nbh format onto sd card and rename it to HERMIMG. then go into bootloader and it will do the rest itself. The exe files from the official tmobile rom get extracted to your temp folder and creates the nbh format. Just copy it from there
Remember if it freezes , keep trying. I once had to try 10 times before it did my radio. i would wait 10 mins at a time for gsm. if it doesnt move by then its froze. reset and try again

I think that my radio bootloader is dead, because when I try in mtty rtask a and then rversion I get nothing in USB monitor. Is my radio bootloader dead, and is there now a soluiotn for recovering radio bootloader?
Well based on what others are saying in this thread; yes, you flash the radio or rom via SD Card instead of activesync, and you do so by going into bootloader manually...read the thread.
I tried that, but its the same. It stops on 0%. I saw that others that had this problem had a functional radio bootloader (0107 or 0108). Mine is corrupt!

About to flash for the first time

I'm planning on flashing my XV6800 for the first time tonight because I want the GPS to function without paying more money to Verizon. I've read a lot of this website but just to make sure I'm not going to brick my phone would someone please confirm what I've got here is correct.

One thing I don't know is do I need a carrier cab? I can't find one on DCD's FTP server for Verizon so it makes me think I don't.
Anything else I should know before jumping in head first?
Thanks.

You can get GPS working on the xv6800 MR1 ROM by using the program listed in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424387
This does not require flashing a custom ROM if you want to do that. Be aware that flashing to MR1 programs the firmware to operate in locked down GPS mode, which will make it difficult for you to get GPS working on a custom ROM without using the adapter program I wrote up + injecting the Verizon GPS driver into the custom ROM.
Note that this does not provide access to VZ Navigator, so you will have to supply your own GPS-enabled app (e.g. Google Maps).
In other words, there are two different approaches you can take here:
- If you are on the original xv6800 ROM, then you can flash to a custom ROM and get GPS working there.
- If you are on the MR1 xv6800 ROM, then you can try the adapter program I wrote, and get GPS working for most of your programs on MR1, without having to flash to a custom ROM.
Well I used the hard-spl-MFG.exe to flash the SPL but now my phone only boots to the three colored splash screen and show SPL-2.40.
How do I fix this?
Thanks,
That should be the boot loader. Now load the Radio ROM that you have. You might only have the SD Card version, so maybe you need to name it correctly on the Card and reboot into the boot loader again so it will read the card. Hopefully you have formatted it correctly?
I think I'm lost. I ran the SPL via active synck. Now I need to run the radio by putting it on the SD card?

Depends on which ROM file you got. It might be an EXE to run from your computer. Just get to the bootloader screen on your phone, connect it with the USB cable and then run the EXE for the radio. Hopefully it will have the installation screen to come up and it should find your phone eventually. Some of the ROMs were just the NBH file and if you rename it as TITAIMG.NBH and stick it on a correctly formated SD card in the phone the bootloader would install it from there. Kind of handy if you are out "in the field" and needed to strip and reload.

You should be able to run that one from your computer. Just hold down the power and camera buttons at the same time and poke the soft reset button. You will get the bootloader screen. Then connect via USB and then run that exe.
You will still need to run the Carrier cab from the phone and install to memory not the card after you get DCD's ROM installed.

Followed wiki and Stuck on Verizon logo pls Help

Hey guys, this is my first post but have been doing research for a long time(weeks) to gain knowledge.. I followed the instructionson wiki for flashing to
Radio Rom 3.42.50 using micro sd and Rom 3.2.6 . I uploaded the bootloader to nueSPL-2.47.exe no problem. but after the radio Rom was loaded it is stuck on the screen.. Im not sure how to use the titan_exitbl.exe. at this point.. please help, thanks
oh by the way, I am unable to connect to ActiveSync. I will not recognize a device being connected.
Two things to try..... 1 pull the battery out for 10 or so seconds then try to start it again.... if that fails.... load a newly cooked version of 3.2.6
I'll give that a try when I get home from work. Thanks I hope the cooked ROM works. So I pretty much go through the step again of loading it on my micro sd and press power+camera+reset right.
yep.... I've personally found it better to load the ROM after the Radio... It sounds like you already have the radio squared away so it should just be a matter of loading a ROM.
Still having problem loading up ROM. did I use the wrong bootloader? when I get to the tri screen it reads TITA100 SPL-2.47noChem Titan SPL EVT CPLD-9 am I bricked?
Did you remove your micro SD card before you did power-camera-reset to flash your ROM? I assume you are trying to flash your ROM using the USB cable right? You may have a titan.nhb file on it, that the bootloader is trying to flash.

this is where I went... Is there a way I can flash ROM dcd 3.2.6 using micro SD? it seems like thats what I need to do next.
I'm in the same state. I just got my replacement xv6800 from Verizon. My old one was flashed long ago to SPL 2.40 and various DCD roms over the past 8 months.
I didn't remember the whole process I used back then. I used the wiki to flash the new one and got the process out of order. I did the SPL 2.40 first and then the radio, both using USB. Now I am stuck at the VZW logo.
I updated the wiki.
It sounds to me like you are doing ok.
I recently had to replace my phone and basically what I did was load the NueSPL on the SD card and ran it. Once I soft-reset, I confrimed that I had the correct bootloader and it appears you do.
Next I loaded the radio file onto my Microsd card and renamed it to TITAIMG.nbh. I then hit the Power, Camera, Reset to get into the bootloader and it should auto install the radio, which I belive it has for you. Once you reset, the phone will most likely show the VZW spach screen as the new radio is not compatible with the old VZW ROM that is still on the phone.
SO the next step, it to remove the radio file off the MicroSD card and load the ROM file onto the microSD card, again, this needs to be called TITAIMG.nbh. Place the card back into the phone and hit the Power-Camera-Reset button again and the rom should now load. Once it says its complete, reset your phone and you should be in business.

the correct order is
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM
OS ROM
Carrier Cab
Trouble is if you can't replace the TITAIMG.nbh file on your SD Card.
I thought the correct order was:
Radio 3.x Minimum
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM required by Custom OS
Custom OS ROM
Carrier Cab
If you have NueSPL working with a 2.x radio, perhaps the the information on no2chem's site is just referring to the ReLocker?
Anyway, I updated the Common Problems wiki with blancmik's info.

Thanks blancmik and necromis.
I had to wait until I got home to pull out my 1GB microSD card and reader. I was able to flash the radio and a ROM.
I did it the following way and it is booted up to WinMobile 6.1.
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM
OS ROM
When I did all this 8 months ago I used USB. I like the microSD upgrading way much better.
Glad to hear that it worked out well for you. The first time I ever flashed was also via USB. After I understood the MicroSD method I've never looked back!

DCD releases his ROM on his site as a self extracting installer. In order to get to the actual ROM, I usually open the .exe with winRAR (winzip) will also work, and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file out, which is the ROM. That's what needs to go on your SD card renamed TITAIMG.nbh.

Uh Oh. Did I just trash my Titan?

I've been a long time lurker here and I just recently acquired an XV6800 (currently suffering with an i760). I have read the Titan Wiki (as well as countless other pages, and yes, I did search before asking) and I think I may have just made a mistake.
I had a stock 1.04 bootloader on it and following the directions I found here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome
I upgraded to the nueSPL 2.47 package. I used the SD card to do the upgrade. From what I can tell, the bootloader installed just fine. The program ran successfully and when I check my bootloader (camera-power-reset) it shows that 2.47 is installed.
What I neglected to do was read the "IMPORTANT" section first. (I know, I know...) My phone has a version 2.xx (stock) ROM on it, not 3.xx.
Did I just brick my phone, or is there something I should do to try and reverse changing the bootloader? Or, am I fine, and I don't really need to worry about this?
Thanks for all your help in advance,
Dustin
lol no your Phone is OK.. and this goes to ANYONE .. if your Phone boots
(to the bootloader 4 color screen) your Phone is ok .. just need to load
up the correct Radio or OS ROM / custom OS ROM..
ok DustinEarnhardt
to fix your issue .. I take it .. you just unlock your phone and loaded a GPS Radio?
if so all you need is to load a new OS ROM, put your Phone back in bootloader made ..
connect it to the computer .. when you see "USB" on the screen you are ready to load a new OS ROM ..
simple download any custom OS ROM you like then run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
thats all you need to do.. unless you did not load the correct Radio .. then
you'll need to load up a new radio as well..
BTW the only time a Phone is "trash" is when you can't get in to SPL bootloader mode
BTW you can load a new Radio via Flash or USB ..
I made a little RUU for USB Radio flash .. but its very easy
via an mSD card .. just put the radio file with the name "TITAIMG.NBH"
on your mSD card and plug it in .. you can do the same
for OS ROMs as well..
Thank you for the quick response! This place is great!
To clarify, basically right now, I have a stock ROM and radio, with a 2.47 bootloader. I can get the 4 color bootloader screen no problem, and the phone boots normally to the stock OS ROM and operates.
My next step (again following the guide here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome ) is to upgrade the radio ROM to Titan Radio ROM 3.42.02. I'm basing this on the decision to use the dcd 3.2.6 kitchen. It was recommended here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=dcdtitanroms to use that Radio ROM. (Oh and I'm using dcd 3.2.6 because from everything I've read, its the most stable at the current writing.)
Hopefully there are no huge problems with what I'm about to do, but if there is, maybe someone can stop me before I try to do this later tonight.
yp thats about it..
Load up a new Radio .. I like "3.42.50" then load up any OS ROM you like..

Upgrading Radio

Hello there,
In order to run android on my HD2 i need to have at least 2.08 radio, but currently my radio is lower than that. I am completely noob in this category, I've been always using nokia's so i know how to change the firmware in it, but now I'm the user of windows mobile. Could you tell me how to change the radio so i could run the android properly?
My current specs:
HTC HD2 UK T-Mobile (448 RAM)
ROM version: 1.43.110.2 (70315) WWE
Radio version: 0.04.50.22_2
Protocol version 15.26.50.07U
SPL-1.42.000
I don't want to brick my phone, I know that there is an update on the htc site but it's 1.72.110.4, i've seen somewhere that this rom upgrade gives 2.07 radio.
So what should i do? Should i ugrade my rom using t-mobile rom from htc site or should i use something else to just upgrade radio?
Thanks
hspl3 from my sig, then find radio in the radio thread in rom development, , no need to flash a rom to change radio, just flash the radio, no hard reset, no loss ofcurrent data.

If you download just the radio, it will only install the radio , no a whole ROM so you will not loose anything, yes it looks just like flashing a ROM but if it is just the radio that is all you get ...
okay, i fallowed the steps and i saw " we hacked it" but when i check my radio it still says 2.04. why? i haven't put any file any where, is that okay?
thanks

That just installs HSPL so you can install any radio or ROM to your phone, now you have to go get the Radio , download and flash it ...

Ok, download the radio of your choice, that is compatible with your phone, extract it to a folder. There is a link on the radio page to download the CustomRUU which is the file you run on your PC ..
Put CustomRUU.exe in the same folder as the radio rom , the nbh file, and then run it, your phone must be connected via usb of course ....

You chose 2.08HSPL?
if you did that is good ...
All this does is allow you to flash NON-model specific ROMs and Radios to your phone ...
It just bypasses the vendor check ..
It is just the boot loader, has nothing to do with what version of ROM/Radio you can flash ...
So which radio should i use?
