I have been searching and unable to find an align screen cab fix. My telus tp running NSFans latest rom won't move past the Align Screen page. Would someone be willing to help please! Thanks.

Have you hard reseted the device after flashing?
Be sure to use the Stylus. I know with my vogue I did not have to use the stylus to align the screen, and when I got my TP I could not align my screen, then tried the stylus and all was well.
This is not a NFSFan issue, it applies to all TP's.
Hope this helps, 'cause you don't know what you're missing,
yet.

Technically, you could align the screen without it. It may the that the threshold value for the screen pressure is set too low, so it is hard for the device to recognize softer screen taps.

Have you tried a hard reset? If not, then try it. It should prompt you back through the start-up and screen calibration as a new flash. For info on a hard reset, read the Wiki. You can also try to flash back to the modified AP3 and see if your device is working there. You may actually have a hardware issue.

Glad you fixed your problem. Someone else in the forum had screen problems, I will advise him to try a new screen protector before he sent his unit off for repair.
please do
as i said first for me
normally screen protector packs up gradually but this time just went in one hit ?
I just picked up a new screen protecter for my 7501 from Clear Protector,
it's supposed to be bullet proof, time will tell.
It went on easily and you can't tell it from the original
screen, this stuff is supposedly used on helicopter rotor
blades lead edges to prevent damage from airborne debris.
At $9.95 an application it's not cheap.

Could you post a link? I always have many problems putting screen protectors on, and the end result is not good - bubbles round the edges etc. even with quality ones, like the Martin protector I have now. I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for a decent one that went on easily and looked good.

Hello,
yesterday I installed some new games on my p4350 and let a friend play with it,
unfortunally he pushed to hard with the stylus and the screen got damaged . the screen is still working but it got a dent.
now I wanna replace the screen myself, anybody can give me instructions how to do this?
Also i wanna know if the soft layer on the top(not the screen protector) and the lcd, is one thing.
http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC Herald Sevice Manual.pdf
download and read that ,it will show you how to disassemble the herald and take the screen out
Replacing digitiser on Herald as opposed to Hermes
Scuse me for butting in but I have both just bought a Herald with a broken screen AND have done a few screen replacements on Wizards, Blue Angels and Hermeses.
On this Herald I had just assumed that you could basically follow the video on YouTube which shows how to replace a screen on a Hermes? I see that the PDF file is quite complicated and is designed to show you how to take off every tiny part if it has failed. The screen replacement is far easier that this, right?
Secondly, I see that you can buy the screen separately from the 'protector' which is I assume the bit with the hole in on your unit? I have to say, I had never seen these replaced separately before: Is this something special to the Herald or can you replace this digitizer separately from the screen on other units as well? If so, how on earth do you get it off the screen please? And is there a reliable way of getting one back on? (There is no reference to this in the pdf manual but the digitizers are suddenly being sold on ebay for about five bucks)
So the question is whether this is still as difficult on the Herald as threads on the Hermes suggest?
I've opened my Herald, and to reach the screen you have to disassemble the whole thing.
It's not that difficult (albeit while following the service manual, since there are a lot of tricky areas like removing the Keyboard), you just need to have patience and not rush it.
Any way to set up device after flash with no touch screen.
The digitizer or screen is not functioning, before i take it all apart as shown anybody no of a way to bypass the touchscreen setup.
before trying to change the digitizer...
(and i know this is crazy but worked for me after replacing the cable going from the screen to the board)
install a screen protector and try again!
I had the same problem after opening my Herald, and right now the screen only works if i have a screen protector on. If not then nothing happens
digitizer replacement is actually very easy.

As I have now posted on a different thread, the digitizer replacement is actually very easy. You just slip a razor blade under the tabs and lever it off after removing that yellow tape on the back.

I agree. It was not difficult at all. I took apart and put together the phone a few times after just to develop a feel for it.
We have a tendency to get nervous about it but if you relax it becomes easier.
I have a a extra digitizer that I never used. If anyone wants it, pm me.
My prophet's screen has cracked the full length of the screen! The phone boots correctly with no problems with the LCD but the touch no longer works, is this easy to replace? If so how? I have got a spare prophet that won't boot but has a good touch screen that works correctly so I was hoping to make one good prophet from the two! I have noticed some real small screws inside the battery compartment and have tried a small alan key to remove them as they look that shape but have had luck!
Please help!!
Many thanks!
Am I the only one having really poor touch recognition on my A43? Whether I use a finger or stylus, it often happens--about once in five keystrokes or more--that after releasing the touch on an on-screen keyboard, a different key additionally gets registered, sometimes not even a neighboring key. It is very hard to type in a password.
My touchscreen also has this problem. I'll hit one key and it will add another key somewhere entirely else on the screen. Menus will spaz out when I try and scroll through them.
Oh yeah, remember that problem I was having where strange spots showed up on the screen and I had to get it RMA'd? That came back on my BRAND NEW unit. I'm getting sick of the crappy screen on this otherwise great unit =[ Maybe Archos will just give me a refund and I can spend my funds on an unlocked/off contract phone with similar specs.
Sadly, I think this is a hardware issue. I'm not sure there's anything firmware can do besides ignore half of the inputs. But then, you have a non-responsive issue ...
Have you guys tried to calibrate the screen through SDE?
I have a similar issue with my A101, although it's not as bad as you guys describe - sometimes the screen just won't register my touch at all, mostly in the edges of the screen - sometimes I think it's the calluses on my fingers from playing guitar, sometimes I think it's the horrible screen they gave us....
My $0.02
So does anyone not have this problem with an A43?

You might be having better luck because the A101 has a capacitive screen with multi-touch capabilities. They're known to be more reliable than the resistive screens the 43IT's have.

I have a 43IT, which is why I posted Sorry I wasn't clear. I feel your pain. Also, I suggest using your nail or a stylus, as the pinpoint hardness of either are better than the soft, blob your fingertip makes on the screen sensor array.

I generally use a stylus. The problem is probably due to the way the plastic digitizer flexes which generates ghost movement data on release. A glass digitizer would be much better.
By the way, it is possible to ameliorate the problem slightly in software. I did that in the myKbd app for PalmOS. Basically, you filter out some very rapid motions. It doesn't affect sensitivity in any significant way.
The reason I'd like to know if everyone has this problem is because I'm going to send my A43 in for warranty repairs, and I am wondering if I should include this problem (in addition to the annoying bright 1/4" area on the screen, and the occasional timeouts when writing to internal flash that result in the device hanging).
Is there an app available that I can use to determine whether my screen sensor is borked?
I ask because on both LeeDroid's HC and JB versions, when I hover the pen slightly above the screen, the various apps pick up the pen movement. Even replacing the pen batteries doesn't change the behaviour.
Any ideas?

You have to take apart the stylus, clean the contacts, and put it all back together. There's a very detailed thread with pictures on tabletpcreview.com HP Slate 500's forums
Thanks. I'll go check that out
that's weird.... in my experience, replacing the battery will do the trick
cant find!

Can you mention the link and post? (I cant find that)
I am not sure but my stylus is giving me some blank looks . Sometime works and sometimes doesn't..Not able to find the issue.
Looking for replacing the battery.
Any idea how long this 1 AAA cell works with usual use? I never replaced it till now
