Which cooked ROMs change the phone identity of the T9193 to T8585 and which do not?
I'd be happy to know how to change the name on any of the rom's

As the subject says, I would like to know if it is possible to change the operator name (CD, O2, MOBILE, etc.) for another name inside the phone/software. For instance, in er2003edit, I would like to change the operator name (CD) from the latest 1.72 ROM, for my own branding (whatever name).

Its same like SP5m and i need to upgrade it to general i-mate software coz i cannot use MMS on my network provider in pakistan coz its software is T-mobile so please help me to change the software to orignal i-mate software
And when i try to upgrade the software through exe on ftp (i-mate_SP5m_WWE_2.6.331.2) it gives Error (ERROR [294] INVALID VENDER ID )

It does look like SP5m, but it sports hardware like SP4 aka Hurricane. That's why, I assume, mod moved theme here.
You can find some WM6 roms for Hurricane, but have you tried changing your data connection settings in WM2003? I'm was using Hurricane with T-mobile branded SW on different carrier, and MMS worked just fine.

You should buy TG01.
T01A is the japanese version of TG01 with the docomo brand (a biggest telecom company in japan)
Now,T01A can flash to english language however T01A hasn't been unlocked by code.so if you don't live in japan,you can't use this device without hypersim...
You can check it by looking a label on the phone (under the battery).

It depends on if it's a branded one and in which country it was bought.

If it's a branded one you can uses HSPL4 (HSPL3.03) to install another ROM 3.14 than the one which was designed for your device.

i purchase htc hd 2 from australia but now i m in india.
my rom version is 1.72.841.0(82124 wwe) dated 02/23/10
no of ways i try to upgrade rom but i failed in every try.
i try to update from indian htc site but i fail.
i try to update from sd card but not working
i try to updatd from t-mobile site using my imei no but site says wrog imei no.
now i have not idea how to update my htc hd2

Use a correct stock rom, or flash hspl first.

If it is from Australia, than it might be a Telstra model T9193.
Therefor the latest official ROM is the one which is installed on your HD2.
Go to bootloader screen and look at the first line, PB81110 is the Telstra number.
If you want to switch to ROM 3.14, you have to use HSPL4 and your desired ROM from here.

If it shipped with a 1.66 rom, then it's unbranded, so its only the localisation to get right.
