Changing Operator name in XDA II - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

As the subject says, I would like to know if it is possible to change the operator name (CD, O2, MOBILE, etc.) for another name inside the phone/software. For instance, in er2003edit, I would like to change the operator name (CD) from the latest 1.72 ROM, for my own branding (whatever name).
Thanks for the help guys.

Edit XDA II Active User Interface

Hi to you all.
I have the current XDA II UK Rom on my i-mate and its the best rom I have ever had, I really like the look of it and it seems vey stable as well.
The Active User Interface on the today screen is configered for UK O2, is there any way to edit the files in the Windows\V2R\O2ActiveUI\Data. I guess that is the files with all the settings for voicemail number, country settings etc... I am Vodafone Australia.
Any help please...
Hi,
you can try to modify the cab-File (o2ActiveUI....cab) in the Extended ROM.
Take WinCE Cab Manager to edit the above mentioned cab-file. In this cab-file you will find another cab-file (o2ActiveUI.cab?) which you should extract first and after that edit with the WinCE Cab Manager.
In this file you will find several settings for different providers (o2 UK & o2 GER). I think that it should be possible to change them, but did not try that yet (though I also intend to do that).
Should you succeed, it would be great if you could post what you've figured out...

m1000 rom?

Hey guys,
I just got my XDA II and I would like to try the Orange m1000 rom.
Is there anybody that does have an UK version of the Orange m1000 rom?
Thanks
Panja
The ROM i refer to in my previous post on the Danish Orange ROM is entirely in English - except for a GPRS default setting pointing to a Danish gateway. You can easily change that.
It can be downloaded freely from Orange in Denmark.

Alas NOPE!
It can't ('out of the box/from the download') be used to update an O2 XDA2 though, because it fails the country check instantly.
As I just tried exactly these things when you posted earlier this morning mate (UK time).
I tried to run the M1000 Denmark (english language) ROM update, on my UK O2 XDA2 today.
It fails straightaway - "Invalid Country".
Not sure if you can hack it or something to allow this, but it's certainly not something I would know how to do, or feel confident trying.
have you tried chancing your country in the local settings before the upgrade ?
you could always change it back
Thanks for the replies guys!!
So what do I need to do to upgrade to the m1000 rom?
Cheers
Panja
if you can get around the country thing then you need
a cradle and the upgrade exe file
Rudegar,
No mate - the country code issue has nothing to do with user set values/user defined regional settings.
It is something hardcoded into the device ROM to identify its country.
It can't be user changed.
It is a hardware check made when starting a ROM Upgrade.
Pity though.
what if you change the exe file to zip and take out the nbf file ?
and install it bootloaderwise ?
would it not work then ?
Er, run that by me in Swahili, as English just lost me...
Nah, seriously mate, I have a basic idea of what that means, but can you be more gentle with me and give me more details?
well if the exe file is an install file
then it's really a selfunpacking zip file
and if you change it from
WHATEVERNAME.exe to WHATEVERNAME.zip
you can unzip the nbf file from inside the zip
and you can use the xdatools to flash the nbf file to a sd card
and upgrade your device from the bootloader
at least thats how you do it on the xda1

operator code proximus

Hello,
i'm trying to find out the operator code of the belgian operator Proximus. Anyone here that can give me the code? I've already tried getdevicedata.exe, but the only thing i can see is my rom version (i've included the file). Also backing up the rom and using a hex editor gave some unreadable chars.
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
apparently I was using GetDeviceData.exe instead of HimaGetDeviceData.exe. Using the latter all went fine.

Wrong Operator Name

Hi
I need help. My operator name is misspelled as 'GrameemPhone' instead of 'GrameenPhone' (operator code: 47001). In Windows Mobile, i used to modify the registry to correct this. What to do with Hero? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Rgds.

[Q] T9193 changes to T8585 (in name)

Which cooked ROMs change the phone identity of the T9193 to T8585 and which do not?
I'd be happy to know how to change the name on any of the rom's
