Email - how to dl all messages from server? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Email - how to dl all messages from server? I just got a few from last week
Thx
I ve found this solution:
1. Select eMail in the HD2 Start Menu.
2. Select your mail account (without opening the mail, if you open the mail, simply press back arrow on hardware keys, and then reselect eMail form Start Menu.
This will ensure Mail Account is highlighted.
3. Select Menu > options
4. Tap the account to change settings
5. Select Send/Receive Schedule
6. Select frequency and Download options eg past 3 days, 5, 7, 30, ALL
Download size for mail and attachments also available.
This does not appear to be available for Hotmail account!
Hope this helps.
BUT - it doesnt work ( I m using CHT mayby thats why)
Anyway, after point 2 from above, I got only "Lock" in the left bottom corner, no "3. Select Menu > options"

For Hotmail you can add from 15,000 to 30,000 characters.
just go to the Email in the Options.

Cube questions

Ok I have two questions here regarding the cube on XV6800.
1. Anyone know how to make it so the cube doesn't pop up when trying to slide using S2U2, sometimes if my finger isn't exactly on it, the cube thinks I'm trying to move horizontally and it pops up without even unlocking first.
2. Upon touching the Email button in the cube, it defaults to "Outlook Email." I have my own email account set up which I use (from Comcast) and it is set as default in the mail settings, but for some reason when using the cube to enter Email, it always brings me to Outlook Email and I have to manually "Go to" my Comcast account.
1. Exclude iLock2.exe and s2u2.exe in the FTouchflo config file.
2. Use the cube settings program to change where the email link leads too.
Yeah I already figured out the exclusion for the ftouchflo, but I was looking at the link to the email in the cube config and it looks like this:
Email
App: \Windows\tmail.exe
Params: -service "Activesync"
I'm not sure exactly what to change it to as I said right now it goes to Outlook Email.
I have this same problem, what do i have to change to the path to so when i click on the EMAIL button on the touch cube, that it brings me to my gmail account, instead of the default outlook account?

[Q] Email problem

Email appears to download but does not show up on the phone - any ideas. Thanks in advance.
Can you be more specific?
When you say the email appears to download. Do you mean that you see the message headers but not the full email so that you have to select download full message. And the phone shows a dialog all that it will be shown after net time you synch/recieve email?
If so, you can stop the mail synch process and goto email => menu => send/recieve. If right the email will be downloaden and shown

[Q] Open email graphics automatically

I have my live.com email account setup on the GT 10.1, and it has been working very well, both before and after the TW update.
However, for every email I receive with embedded graphics, I have to hit the button "show pictures" in order to see the email as it was intended. After the TW update, I have to hit the button "show more details" to get the full email. Most of the email I get is fairly rich these days, so it is a PITA to have to have to hit all these extra buttons when scanning my email. Is there any way to set up Mail so that it automatically shows all the graphics when the message is opened?
looking for the same thing
i tried to change the size of the file to download but no luck

Corporate mail exchange problem - NOT SYNCING

Hi All
I need help with my mail exchange. The problem is that i stop receiving mail from time to time and the only way to repair it is when i restart the phone. I have non stop 3g conection or WiFi and i am sure the problem is not from the internet. Ihave set up my account more than a 100 times and never had a problem until now.
My rom is stock I9300XXALE8
Check your app settings sync schedule is set to push.
Also check phone settings > accounts and sync > ......... exchange activesync > sync settings > ensure sync email is checked
Sent from my GT-P6810 using XDA Premium HD app
Everything is like you wrote: sync schedule is set to push and email is checked

I can recommend not to use the stock mailsync client for synching with Exchange servers, but Touchdown from Nitrodesk! I had it on my SGS, no it's on my SGS3 - it supports synching of mails, contacts, calender, tasks and notes over the air, in case you are running Exchange 2010 it also has full sms-integration (you can write SMS in Outlook or OWA, which will then get pushed to the device and send from it), and all security-policies are supportet (in my knowledge Touchdown is the only "full managed" active sync client on Android). The only con: price is about 15,-- for the license key, but you can test the app itself for 30 days without limitations before! I can really recommend Touchdown as stable, full-featured client in combination with Exchange! cheers Gerald
Update security setttings msg every few mins...
Hi all, I'm not saying this is the / a fix but one thing I have noticed is that if your corp mail is managed by MS or even inhouse, and you had a different phone connected, you may want to to remove the old device from Outlook prior to connecting the new SGS3.
I usually check by going to Outlook via Web (aka OWA) (this is when you check your email thru a browser), then click Options (in 2010 its on the upper left corner of screen), select "See All Options", finally, select "Phone".
Now you should see all the devices that you had connected to your corp account. I removed all my old devices ( really was same device just different roms :cyclops: ) and then added my SGS3.
Also you may want to check with your IT dept to see if there is a mobile policy that is appiled once you connect your device to the corp's email server. My corp, you need to grant admin rights, (this is when you 1st set up your account on the phone). You may have to put a lock screen pin or pattern.
Another little tibit, is that you can select the device (just click on the name) , and you might have a "Details" btn in OWA. Click on "Details" btn and scroll down in the "View Mobile Phone Details" window. I check for the following:
"Access state" = Access Granted
"Access set by" = Global Permissions
"Policy applied" = xxxxxxxxx.ms.com\Default - Appilied in full
Policy updated = date should be recent like today if you made a change.
If "Access state" = Access Denied, then try removing the Outlook config from the mobile, then remove all phones from OWA, then add the account as normal on the mobile.
I hope this helps someone, GLTA...
stock works for me fine

Multiple whatsapp read-only contacts

This is the 2nd time recently I am facing this problem.
Each contact is repeated for 10 times in my phone contacts (last time it was 50 times each). Can't even delete them, there is a option to hide 1 contact at a time that too manually.
I deleted all the contacts from installed application> contacts storage>clear data.
Can anyone help me with a easy and stable solution.
Did you tried logging in to Google on a PC and open the contacts, and merging or removing duplicate ones? (if you sync with Google).
Follow my procedure:
1. Open Settings
2. Tap System Apps
3. Tap Contacts
4. Tap Display Preferences
5. Tap Configure Contact List
6. Choose among the options.
*YOU'RE DONE !!

Click to collapse
The above step does not work when you try to search. It still shows contacts from all the accounts when you try to search and shows all 10 duplicate contacts.
Just remove whatsapp account from sync options
Go to settings then select sync then select whatsapp then remove account
