[Qeustion] Movies on HD2?

Hello there Community,
I have been reading alot of these forums and on the web.
Atm using Energy 26june 23569 with 2.10.50.28_2 (best for me).
Now i want to convert some VOB (Dvd) movies/files to the best suitable extention to play fullscreen on the HD2 (i can for example make .wmv with moviemaker).
The problem is, when i convert a file of 100MB to MP4 642*480 i CAN watch them fullscreen in the default CAMvidplayer (dunno how its named), without any problem .. but when i code a vid to 1.5gb mp4, it hangs on video, and only plays sound.
Hope someone can help me with this and give me a few good instructions/links to do so.
Dont know if this topic is in the right forum though, sorry if it isnt.
Thanks!

Ahh sorry, stupid of me i didnt even see the Q&A
there is a program called mp4hd mate it was made for the original HD but there is an extra file with it to add settings for hd2 give that a try its here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478050
I always split fulllenght movies into 2 parts, cause file above 1.5g
tend to have hiccups every 5-10min (5sec freeze).
But i never have a full picture freeze.
What bitrate are you using?
What codec are you using?
I use h264 codec around 1600kb.
Get your hands on a program called Coreplayer.
And as for converting, try to convert to 800 by 480 as that is the devices resolution. Anything below will become choppy, above isn't bad but it may cause stuttering during playback.

Same qeustion here
Wish it can be fullscreen
I've sucessfully converted several videos and full length movies to mp4 to play on my hd2 using VLC, I noticed though it's important to make sure to select a maximum resolution of 720p. Still looks good on the screen, plays full screen and no stutters or freezes. Hope that helps.
I use "Any video Converter", for all my devices, here are a few reasons why I like it...
It's really easy to trim off the beginning and the ending of videos in the apps built in player to make the videos shorter and smaller.
Remember's my custom settings
Choose my Frame Rate, Video Bitrate, Video Framerate.
Many settings with the audio choices.
Can Place multiple files to convert one after the other.
It's free and they keep updating it regularly.
Video Conversion
I used "Format Factory" to convert some AVIs for the HD2. Not only do they play now they play in HTC's video player just like Transformers. Different settings and a few different resolutions and they all seem to play just fine...
"Format Factory" is free and a small download.

[Q] htc video player to play .avi files

hey everyone,
i've been searching the web for a while now and couldnt find out if there is a patch or something for htc video player to support .avi files.
its really important to me as i tend to watch movies on my hd2 a lot.
but tcpmp is not a great option, it kinda lowers the quality of the videos and kinda sucks.
IF there is a way to play .avi files, IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME, it has hardware acceleration and all.
thanks in advance.

In a word, no. The HTC video player won't answer your problems.
Setting up TCPMP correctly, however, will solve your problems.
Have a look at the following post and try setting up TCPMP/CorePlayer as suggested. It makes a world of difference!

The HD2 does support AVI. see thread and go to multimedia.
http://www.htc.com/uk/product/hd2/specification.html
But you must be using DivX AVI, or Xvid AVI... for HD2 use AVI MSMPEG4-V3 (*.avi) this works for movies. You can download a video converter via Google

Or he could read the answer above which will solve all his problems without converting a single file
Video Player that works!
If you are running Android on HD2 then take a look at this forum;

[Q]-Posting YouTube videos from Eris

I recently tried posting a video to YouTube that was taken from the standard camera app on my Eris. When posted to YouTube, the audio codec is messed up. Normal speech comes out massively garbled and then the audio cuts out about a minute in. I converted the 3gp file to an avi on my PC but it comes out tilted 90 degrees when I do that. Does anybody know of a way of sharing a video to youtube and have the audio work properly?
I had the same problem. The only thing i found that fixes it was to just delete the video and upload it again. might take a couple times to fix though. somebody might have the issue solved.....i usually upload through my gallery and not the youtube app, i dont have any problems when uploading from there
I did the exact same things. I even took the file down to my PC and uploaded it from there. It seems like YouTube is not supporting the file format. It plays fine on the phone and plays fine on my PC using quicktime. I uploaded the original video several times and another one and the problem kept happening. I'm also uploading from the gallery by clicking share>YouTube. Any other ideas>
ok here is what i have found out. with my stock video recorder - the sounds comes in for split second then the video just stays on a single frame and doesnt move but the video bar on bottom shows its playing. So then i tried with the Miui camera app i have installed - it plays the video just perfect BUT with no sound. Right now im looking into apps on the market to replace the stock camcorder, found one but it forcloses on me after recording. Its called "anCorder" try it out it might work for u. I know for a fact that the app called "videocam Illusion" does upload to Youtube and does upload just great with no problems.
Thanks Ricky. I will try those.
Ancorder definitely FCed just as you end your video recording. Videocam illusion did great in a small upload test. I noticed the format was .mov instead of .3gp so I think that helped.

Save You Tube Videos

I love watching HQ/HD You Tube videos but get tons of buffering on my Galaxy tab.
Is there a way to save You Tube videos in HQ format? I figure it's a good way to show off the screen resolution...
Thanks!
You can use Tubemate app to download from YouTube.

WOW! This is like the 10th thread I've seen asking the EXACT SAME QUESTION!
Use the search button bro.
It even gives you a little hint as to which threads might have the same question in it when you put the title of your new thread in.
In around 15 seconds, I was able to go back to the main forum here, hit search, type in "save youtube" and find both of these...

Did I mention I did all that in 15 seconds?
ansonantonym - Thanks for an actual answer to my question.
Tivo7 - Searching on save youtube in titles - which I did - comes up empty bro.

Also....
Sorry, rough day :S
No prob
Thanks for the assistance.
thx a lot for help.
So I tried the App last night.
Two of the videos I downloaded wouldn't play at all (got a message saying it can not be played) and the other two (which were HQ videos - movie trailers) had so so video quality and the sound and video were not matched up to one another.
Do I need to download a video play off the app market to help these issues?
Did I do something wrong?
There are save options on the app - the two that didn't play I used the sane to Tab option and the two that did play (poorly) I used the save to mp3 format.
Sorry but I'm a total newbie at this stuff....

Video playback best settings

Hello guuys i wanted to know the settings that you guys use for HD video full screen for htc radar..... NOTE : i downloaded HD videos converted them into mp4 1080p and it worked awesome in radar but a normal 4 minute song was 250mb video file so wanted to ask if anyone knows any settings HD video less than 100mb?
Randomly searching 1080p mp4 size, I got this torrent file:
ht tp:// kat. ph/chris-brown-sweet-love-official-video-1080p-mp4-t6422728 .html
(I don't like this kind of music, I think that video could be even unlegit)
but as you can see, you should use that bitrate when encoding your videos, firstly download that one and try it...
