Hi, my missus normally calls me on her way home from work, a few times now she has called and she has got the phone unavailable message, so she has called me on my home phone, thinking that this was strange I checked my HD2, the taskbar shows full reception??!! So, I called it myself from the housephone, same deal, phone unavailable, so using cookies tab switch I turn just the phone part of the Hd2 off and then on again, and then it works. Anyone experienced this problem? Is there a fix, many thanks.
Ps I am with T mobile uk, I dont think its a problen on their end, or is it.....?

im on O2 and havent use htc hd2 for last couple months becouse there is noo reception at all i put sim into my old sony ericson p1i and its ok everything works
i spend whole sunday trying to instal new spl then hspl and new radio and ne flash and still no reception

After using WM 2003 I downgraded to te original 02-rom (3.17.03) everything works fine, but i cant connect to GPRS. I used the o2 auto-config tool an tried to make a connection manualy, with no succes.
I never messed with the radio-rom (4.21)
The phone works fine, so it isn't a hardware problem???????? (correct me if i'm wrong)
I tried soft and hard resets, deleted connections and made new ones. I'm out of idees. Can anyone help me? :?: :?:
this has happened to me on a number of occasions, especially after playing around with different versions. what i would suggest is re-autoconfig then wait, its as though the system (O2) needs time to realise there is a new phone on the network. it sometimes takes a few hours then everything works as usual.

I've had similar problems with T-Mobile after upgrading roms.
The solution has always been to call them and they reset your connection on their end.
(No idea what that means but I imagine there is a big switchboard with everyone's name and the tech walks over and flips my switch!)
This has happended 2 or 3 times and their reset always fixed the problem.
GPRS suddenly started working again! (done nothing)

I'm having the same problem now. I upgraded to 4.00.16 and Radio ROM 6.24 2 weeks ago and yesterday the GPRS stopped working. I called T-Mobile. They tried everything and now opened a ticket.
Any ideas on what may be causing this?
Ive got the same problem. Got my main board replaced. Recieved the phone back. Installed new 2003 OS now GPRS wont connect. Im 120% sure ive got the settings wright. Bugger Bugger Bugger!

Mines fixed. I forced Vodafone in NZ to remove my GPRS account and recreat it. Works perfect now.

I am hoping somebody will have a solution to my problem as it is driving me mad.
I have an 02 XDA Atom Exec & am on the T-Mobile network in the UK & I am unable to connect to the T-Mobile GPRS service.
I have put in the correct setting but for some reason it keeps trying to connect then eventually come up with a notice that Cannot Connect & that the answering modem has disconnected.
I do not understand what this means & by the sound of it neither do T-Mobile customer services, but understandly maybe as they don't do it!!!
I hope one of you guys can help me with this problem.

If you will have same problem, the source in GSM module, otherwise, go to your operator.

I have tried with my vodafone PAYG sim card with the vodafone settings & it works fine, but still having problems with my T-Mobile sim.
I think I may have to phone customer service again & try get a solution from them otherwise I will cancel the web & walk & just keep the free minutes.

im sure i have, because it will connect, and says connected, just when i go to ie it keeps saying any web / wap page cant be located.

I got the settings from http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html.
Let me know if they are the same settings that you used, If it saying that it was unable to load up the page do a reset ot try closing down running programs & try again.

I have just got a T-Mobile account with the Web'n'Walk and I am experiencing the exact same problems.
I have used my Atom Exec on Vodafone AU, Vodafone UK, O2 UK and they all connect straight away. (and when the SIM is inserted there is a G in the top next to the telephone signal strength)
But as soon as i put in the T-Mobile SIM in the G is no longer there and it is an X and when i try to connect i get the error:

And I have even gone in to a T-Mobile store...
They have nothing at all!!! They all say that the settings are all correct, my SIM is GPRS enabled, and that there is nothing that they can do.
I have put my SIM in an MDA Vario and it works like a dream???
So last night I was going through the registry on the MDA and looking for keys that I did not have and then manually entering them... but still no luck.
I am guessing that there is some setting somewhere that the SIM is looking for and does not find, hence the X instead of the G.
To be honest I think that I am in a little over my head.
But I have just signed up to this so that I could use Push email, and it is like 5 days into a 12 month contract, so I really want to get it to work!

Well I have called them again, and they have no idea and really don’t want to find out why as they have never heard of the ATOM Exec (poor them as they are missing out).
So I have just cancelled my contract with them, and since I have only had it for 5 days there is no penalty.
I am going to sign up for an O2 plan and add the blackberry (£10) option on it.
It might be an extra 10er a month on the T-Mobile plan, but at least I will have everything that I want.

If T-Mobile can't be arsed to help you they do not deserve the money you would have given the.
The only thing is that I am on 18 month contract with about 9 months remaining, so the choice for me will be to either sell the Atom Exec ( even though I love it!!!) or go back to my trusty MDA Vario.

I have until monday when i send it back to get it working... and i have been looking on the msdn site at programming different settings in the regitry...

I had problems twice connecting via GPRS. The latest one on the imate JAMin (HTC Prophet). I had to delete the GPRS modem and created new one with different name but same settings and it worked. Good Luck.
it works fine on an imate jam ... it does not work on the atom exec's

I have a htc hero, unlocked on O2 UK and i can not get on the marketplace at all even though i have setup a google account with the browser and everything.
Does seem strange to me.
I have moved from a HTC Diamond, and im loving this this phone, this is the only strange problem i can find,
I have read that i sometimes matters if google has registered the carrier's or something. Is this the case with O2

Did you sign in with your google details when you started your phone for the first time? Some people have had problems doing it at a later date. My mate did a hard reset and then it worked (by using the first time wizard).

i am new with my i-mate jasjam herm100, en dont really know how to troublr shoot it. from last few weeks i am not able to send any sms from my i-mate. i even tried to send sms using different sim card but still the same
problem. so thought flashing a new rom will fix it( i recently learned flashing via reading xda threads) so i installed wm 6 (official) on it. windows working perfect but the problem is the same. so please some 1 help me what should i do. thank you very much!!
Hmmm, are you able to make/receive calls? If not, then you may have the "NO GSM" error which you can check when the device is booting and shows NO GSM instead of the radio ver. When you get this error, the phone is unable to obtain service. Try to keep trying to get it to boot with the radio ver. by constantly taking out the battery and putting it back in. You can also try hard resetting the phone, cause sometimes the radio ver. pops up after I do that. If that doesnt work, then I suppose you should open up your hermes and try adjusting and tightening up the parts, because sometimes people get the NO GSM error when their phone dropped.
If all if hopeless, you can sell your hermes for parts on ebay(which goes for a decent price), and buy a another used working one.

I bough HTC Amaze in USA everythings fine now im back home in slovakia for 5 months everything was okay till now... i was listening music than i heard some stupid sound my phone turned off then on and i didnt had any signal... only X next to signal bar...i cant call cant anything ... i dont have any numbers anything.... i tried to reboot...nothing.. when im trying to call it says out of service area.... everything was okay for almost 1 year and couple months... btw before my phone sometimes restart by itself... what should i do?
is your phone rooted? and are you running a custom rom? and the phone isn't receiving signal at all? if your contacts are missing then your google account probably got removed from the phone..
my phone is like from shop... android 4.0.3.. thats all.. no signal at all.. its like i dont have simcard in...but i do!
can you get your phone online via wifi? and maybe the simcard somehow got damaged? i would suggest trying a different one or something..
Sim card is okay i used it on other phone and everything is okay... idk if i can connect via wifi i will try nad write but let say that yeah i can connect and nothing changed...

Phone is from T-mobile but its unlocked and i have O2 company now.... and no i cant see on screen any company..is empty...like signal bar only when im turning phone ON there is tmobile 4G intro ... thats all
I guess you already tried this but just in case...
Turn phone off remove batt and sim card. wipe the simcard contacts with a pencil eraser and after 10 or so minutes install sim again and turn on.
I remember reading about something similar hapening to somebody here a few weeks ago (I wish I remember who and how he solved it, but I think he just removed and re installed the sim)
