Can someone please help us, we love the HD2 but we are having trouble with med the MMS part in HTC messenger. We use MMS a lot, but there is a bug in HTC's program. When we send a MMS from the phone to an email client, the phone sends the photo, but changes the enclosed file by removing the file extension. It actually changes the file name from "IMAG0025.jpg" to "9874593".
The email client or MS Outlook does not recognize the attachment without the file extension, and that's what we have trouble with. This works fin from all other phones, also former versions of HTC, but not with the HD2. We have been in contact with HTC support several times, but they just don't seem to care.
Please help.... Anyone..?

In my XDA with AT&T latest ROM, I can't receive any vCard by sms! I've tried sending them from my Nokia 6310i both in single phone number and full details mode. The Nokia phone says the vCard has been sent but I don't get anything in the XDA. Sending vCards by sms to other phones obvioulsy works.
Is it just me? Is it a bug or is it a 'feature'?
thanx
PS: do you know of any XDA proggie that will receive/send vCards?
Yeah, me too. I think it must be the setting problem.
However, I don't think anyone can answer me in HK cause I am using WM2003 with ExWAP v2 (downloaded from Yoret.net).
The setting I can see from the official CSL website couldn't tell me how to set it up with my xda1.
cant claim i know what vcard really mean but google give some hits when you search on vcard pocketpc
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=vCard+pocketpc&btnG=Google-søgning
I have never tried sending/receiving Vcards via SMS, but I have sent & received via IR.
PPC 2003 allows you to receive vCards into contacts and Calendar...however not via SMS indiginously. You need a 3rd party application to do that. If you do a search for "SMS" at either http://www.pocketgear.com or http://www.handango.com you will find the app I'm talking about. Cant remember what its called though, easy to find click through all the pages.
Thanks for your answers. All soft I have found just manages the vCards stored in the PocketPC. Some let you even send them through email. But I have not found any program that emulates Nokia phone's capabilities of receiving an specially crafted SMS with the vCard inside.
I find interesting is the fact that when you send an sms with an vCard inside from a Nokia phone to another phone (without vCard funcionality), it displays the message in raw format:
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:2.1
N:John
TEL;WORK;VOICE:5551234567
END:VCARD
However, my XDA I (WindowsCE 2003) silently ignores such sms while it's happy to receive regular ones!!!
This vCard through SMS capability is probably Nokia-specific... it would ne nice if some one implemented it for PocketPC devices. I'm sure there's a market for it!
Hi guys,
I have just upgraded to WM2003SE Asia Edition.
Everything works great but only 1 hiccup, MMS.
I have configured the MMS setting but it keeps telling me that my sending limit is too small whenever I try to send a 23k MMS. I also add an entry in Servers tab but no help.
I couldn't even remove or edit the entry in the Server Tabs.
Is this a bug in WM2003SE?
not in wm2003se but it's a bug or I don't know what else it could be in the mms software version, change it to 2.0.0.13 found somewhere here by just installing it over the old one and everything gonna be ok
That's the version I have.
That's the version I have in my XDAII.
It was a older version before upgrading to WM2003SE. After upgrading, I can't even send or receive MMS with this version.
Any help would be appreciate.
Thanks.
ey bro.... are you sure that you had configured the mms?
if so, go to inbox, then accounts, then select MMS.
then create a new mms message then.. send
MMS and INBOX are now integrated
Yes, I \'m very sure that I have configured the MMS Setting. Whenever I tried to send a MMS, it prompts me the sending limit is too small. I went to the MMS Setting but couldn't find sending limit.
I tab on the Servers Tab and create a new Server. Also cannot work.
I found a strange thing is that the list is getting longer and longer in the Server Tab for no reason. And most of them are empty. I also cannot delete those empty entries. The 1 I created also cannot be edited or deleted.
Very strange.
YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG VERSION AFTER UPGRADE TO SE !
get 2.0.0.13, if you have any older one it just the wrong one that will not work
Hi alanwwm,
I had exactly the same problem - the way I got around it was to get a registry editor and navigate to;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1
Under this folder you will see a few numerical folders, as well as the server you created. Navigate to the server you created, and add 2 keys (you can copy them from one of the other numerical folders).
RecvDefault 99999999
SendDefault 102400
Which will set your send to 100kb.
Hope this works for you as well as it did for me.

Ok, Here is Arcsoft MMS 5.0.69.44 for sprint. I also made it so that it removes Sprint picturemail when you install it. Note, It will delete the picturemails on your phone, but you can still go online and get them through the website, and even forward them to yourself if you want them on your phone again.
The default is 512k sending limit, and 10 meg d/l limit. I removed the limit for editing the server setting. Now you can edit the sprint server, and change the limit there in the app without having to do any regedits. You can select 512k (For compatibility with other carriers), 1 meg, and 5 meg.
question...
if i want to send a pic, can i send it from text? or do i have to email the pic?
thanks
Does the other one you posted also uninstall picture mail? Picture mail works perfectly fine if installed AFTER MMS It even cooks in perfectly
I can send just fine but I cannot receive. I am using stock Sprint ROM.
Same problem as above, I can Send perfectly fine but recieve nothing. Plus I cant even figure out where to go to find the app, theres no program in the programs list or anything. There is nothing in where you have all your email accounts either.
Like:
+AOL
+Comcast
+Yahoo
+Text Messages
+Plus Pic Mail (When I had the stock sprint pic mail installed)
Also, No idea how to edit the server. I checked my registry's and the editserver is enabled to 1 but I have no idea where to look to find to edit the server info. Thought maybe that was the prob.
And, I cant figure out how to edit the send size limit or anything like it said you can
Ok...
On my WinMo device I had Microsoft MyPhone on which synced all my messages to their server.
Is there anyway to retrieve these to my Hero that you are aware of?
Thanks
Not that i know of, no.
I very much doubt that there is any way to link the android handsets into the service...and i can't see MS supporting that anyway.
i think i heard something was created on Modaco that might help a bit though....
Have a look here:
http://android.modaco.com/content/a...y-out-the-modaco-windows-mobile-sms-migrator/
but again, until the hero gets rooted, that wont work either...
I hope you can find something soon, or the root gets sorted quickly and easily!
Is that SMS/MMS - There's an app called G-Backup that backs up SMS and MMS (and it can do call log and Camera pics too I think) to labelled folders in Gmail, bypassing the inbox.
They get archived as threaded messages under labels SMS and MMS - you can set the app to back up to gmail every so often, or set it on immediate and it back them up to gmail as they come in.
I've used this for a couple of months, its a crackin app. xx

I would like to be able to write SMS and MMS from my computer instead of directly on my Galaxy S4.
There are many programs, but I have not been able to find one where I can send MMS.
MightyText have the option to attach a file, but the message and the file will never reach the recipient.
Seeking proposals for programs that can send SMS and MMS via computer.
