Has anybody seen this yet? Maybe it fixes the audio issues some of us have seen.

Anybody ever have any security issues with apps?
Never had problems with this.
Just wondering if anybody has heard anything on this. I know Samsung is known to drag their feet when it comes to updating to the latest OS
Ive not heard anything, however, im not so bothered about 3.2...... Id be very excited to hear a promise of ICS
Welcome to xda. Please read a few threads before you post. This question is asked at least once a day here.
didn't see a thread for this posted anywhere, and I'm not too sure how many people have seen it. just a few minutes ago I got a text from VM about the update. not too sure what it all pertains too except for that it states that it's a vulnerability patch. being rooted and on a custom ROM, I don't wanna take the chance of doing the update and possibly bricking. anyone wanna provide some input?
edit: I'm not allowed to post links, since I'm mostly a lurker :3
anyone care to post the link. if this thread bombs, go ahead and delete it haha
Here are a couple links

The patched OS is available from this page:
http://www.virginmobileusa.com/cell-phones/lg-optimus-v-phone.jsp
Look over on the right hand side under "Resources". There are also links to PDFs of the installation instructions there.
There is an FAQ about it with a link to the NIST page that lists data exploits but no real information as to what the exploit might be that this "fixes" or even what risks you might be exposed to if you don't install it.
There is some discussion about it in the Optimus V developer's Forum starting on page 466:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176888&page=466
I already installed it on my backup phone without thinking that it may block me from rooting it, at least until the next vulnerability is discovered.
It also has a new baseband. So that may be a problem as far as using a custom ROM as well. DOH! x 2
On the upside it seems to have fixed the Time Without Signal battery drain bug. I have had the phone running for a couple days just using WiFi since it isn't activated yet and it is still at 80%. No heavy use but I am leaving WiFi and GPS on all the time and checking the News & Weather whenever I think of it to try to run the battery down so that I can calibrate it.
I didn't think there was much of a chance for the OG to get the 4.2.2 update, but then I saw this rather dated article from March. I searched the forums and found nothing related to this, so if it's a dupe, my apologies.
What do you guys think?

Did you mean to post this in the Optimus G (e970) forum?
Wrong forum-this is the Optimus G Pro.
Sorry guys.
I am curious about the OGP's potential for an upgrade as well though. I had Dashclock on my S4 and really enjoyed it.
I hope we'll have an update
Thread Closed since you have the same Topic posted here already, Thanks.
So I'm using my HTC One Max today and boom a update notification came through..
I came straight here to see information about it but have not seen anything.
Does anyone have a clue what they updated yet or is it to soon to tell? haha.
I really want to update to a new phone soon, but anything to make this phone's battery last longer is good news.
You may not know but this forum is for development not a Q&A. There are some threads about this already in the General forum. There will not be an official update for the US variant most likely. If it happeneds it will be because it's ported.

I have me and my brother on one max's with unlimited grandfathered. Stock 4.4.2, s-off, and rooted. Today we both get an ota pop up everytime we wake the phone up from sleeping. Annoying. Root explorer only shows the otapkg.zip to be 36mb so i doubt its a big update or anything. I have been working all day without any time to look at it and my bro has no clue what he is using, i just showed him how to turn his hotspot on. haha
Hopefully someone knows an easy way to get rid of this update. I sent a pm to someone else who had helped me with rooting stuff awhile ago when i first got the 2 max's used. (thanks for all your help before if you read this) He hasnt been using a max but recommended flashing stock recovery, flashing update, and redoing superuser and twrp. I cant tell my brother to do all that long distance... hes electronic disabled.... I'm hoping i can rename the update and get it to stop showing up and leave us alone. I think I had done something similar to this with the rezound ota annoyances.
Sorry to respond to this post while its in the wrong section... But I couldn't find anything related to this 07-31-2015 ota from verizon in the general. I do see alot of stuff about international lollipop dropping, but I think this is different.
I knew this was for the Dev section but this affects those of us who are using stock rooted rom's with earlier updates that they received from this very section. So pardon me when I thought this was the place to bring it up.. Thanks for telling me we'd not get the US Variant... Personally I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop. Much prefer the current one. I'm with the previous replier, I'd rather stop the annoyance of the update notification. I haven't downloaded it but it's getting annoying having to see the update every 4 hours.

I just did a multi search engine (including the site search) through out the HTC one max forum for the ota update "3.02.651.8" and got no threads matching my search. The latest official version to be discussed is the 3.02.651.5 which is what I'm on already. If you would be so kind as to point me in the directions of said thread(s) I'd be grateful as I do not see them anywhere.
