Does anybody know of a way to turn off the screen while recording a video?
That would save a lot of battery because the screen eats much energy.
And before anyone asks:
Yes, I know I can't see what I'm recording!
I've also tried the search function and found a thread where somebody asks for the same, but no solution is given.
And I've already tried some ways to turn off the screen, but none has worked.
Somehow the camera app prevents the screen from going off.

Thanks for the tip. But I will have to continue to look for something because 25$ is too much for such an app in my opinion.
hi,
is another solution?

First of all, you should probably know:
- It is rooted
- I renamed the camera click .ogg sound files using ROM toolbox pro, but the camera app still makes the shutter sound
Is there any way to disable the camera shutter sound? I've been scouring the internet for solutions and thought rooting my phone would do the trick, but now I can't seem to be able to even accomplish this task with root. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks in advance guys
in many states its against the law to disable the shutter sound, so someone knows when you are taking a picture of them..most roms do not allow you to turn this off, but, some do..

What ^^^^ Said......g
Its a huge problem in Japan. Its called "up-skirt". Creepy guys taking pics of ladies panties on the sly. Hence no removing shutter sound. Then again who's gonna notice if you record video? Nonetheless illegal. Check your local laws but I doubt if anyone can definitively give you an answer

Hey I don't know if this is a rom/firmware issue or just an issue with the phone itself. I looked around on the internet, but wasn't able to find anything. I can't even hold the phone to my face (hurts my ears) when it is on the lowest volume, and everybody can hear my conversations haha.
also side note I tried to install the back button menu hack and it removed all the the numbers on my pin lock screen. At first it was annoying, but now I kind of like it. Sadly the numbers came back. I know this isn't the right thread, but wasn't sure if somebody might know how to how to get my blank lock screen back. It was super secure and people thought I was some crazy tech master.

Just install this app and all camera sounds will be disabled, I've been using it for a while now.

Ok, here's the elephant in the room. People are up in arms about Kingo root because it's an unknown and they're afraid it'll send information back to them. Yet, this "camera silencer" app is just a download without any transparency t all, not through the Play store and we're supposed to just trust that it doesn't gather up a lot of stuff and send it back home? Crazy.

The difference is this app has source codes on the same page, you can read them, compile your own APK and install it.

It definitely disables the camera sound, however after a while it reenables certain options i prefer to keep disabled. Primarily the touch sound (every time you touch the screen it makes a sound).

I've been using it for a while and haven't had anything turned on that was previously off.
Do you keep Touch Sounds enabled?

No I do not and they haven't turned back on.
I have a tremendous problem. Everything is OK until I put the phone on charge.. Then weird things tend to happen.
1. The brightness goes to the maximal level even though I've set it at a lower level.
2. While charging, the screen is constantly ON, rolling some ****ty videos advertisements.
3. My home screen tab changes to the central one.
4. MY PICTURES AND VIDEOS DISAPPEAR!!! That applies to ALL THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS THAT I'VE TAKEN. The only ones that stay are the pics send me from WhatsApp and the screenshots of my screen.
The phone is with basic settings. Any help will be appreciated.

First of all thanks for the quick answer!
The brightness isn't on Auto, but that's the least of the 4 problems that I have.
When it comes to the screen the "Stay awake" it turned off and the screen is still ON while charging. The ads are about the phone itself "Sony Xperia Z2 the best phone bla bla bla"
My biggest problem is the loss of pics/videos.

Oh.... Problem is serious than I thought.... I think somehow displaymode has turned on and it resets all your data or hiding your data. I am not sure how it happened, but I think if you haven't root or unlock the bootloader you are better to take it to shop and ask?
Also before take it to shop try to connect to Z2 to your PC, there might be some photo left in internal storage?
P.S I found that enter the "*#*#73556673#*#*" to dialer turns off demo mode. I am not sure if it works for you but it worse try it.
Still looking for how to get back your photos and videos. I will share the solution as soon as I find it

Recorded videos stutter
Hi
I have a problem with my S6 Edge 32 GB(with ISOCELL sensor) while recording some videos. Sometimes these recorded videos stutter. It doesn't matter which resolution i choose. It's really annoying. It looks as if it lacked few frames. Has anyone this issue? Do you know what may cause this problem?
Thanks for help and sorry for my english.

Yes, I have tried it. No results. Sometimes it happens more frequently and sometimes it just doesn't happen. i've also tried some booster, apps killers, but it didn't affect it.

App killers should have no effect on video.
Try testing the camera firmware.
Use the dialer code *#7412365*
IT might give you useful information

Sadly, I am no expert either
I just know that inputting that code will give information about the camera.
That was truly my last idea

I've just updated and there is less information than before. I think I will go to the service with this issue. I was just interested whether it was something wrong with ram management, camera or something else.
Thanks for help
