Hello , I need a step by step guide , as jargon free as possible to root a HTC Hero(Tmobile version) on android 2.1 . I have tried the old 2009 Unlockr.com guide without results as well as numerous others.
Currently on 3 UK network.
Me too.
I can second the above!
here is how i rooted my hero on tmobile uk
first go into settings then click on the option applictions then click on on unknown source
go here on your http://theunlockr.com/down/UniversalAndroot-1.6.2-beta5.apk or here if that link does not work http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FJA3L8YZ you can do this on your phone
if you downloads on the computer plug your phone to your usb and mount it and then move the file you download to your phone
if you done it on your phone just go into downloads and click the file you just download and it should install
if you have done it a pc and have moved it onto your sdcard you need to download a file manager just go into the android market and type in astro file manager then find your you move the to and click on it then click on open app manager and then click install
after it finishes installing open the app and press root and your root
next go into the android market and type in rom manager install the free version
when it is opened press the flash clockworkmod recovery and then after it finishes flashing the recovery image press reboot into recovery then it will say are you sure you want to root into clockworkmod recovery click ok
now to are root and ready to install custom roms
hope this helps
I have same problem but the biggest one i cant download Rom manger on the phone dont know what to do
erm.... how would you install RomManager on an unrooted device?
I got the german T-Mobile G2 Touch [HTC Hero] with had stock android 2.1 with sense,
I needed to create a Goldcard (Tutorials out there) and then was able to use universal AndROOT to root the device... there is a tutorial in this forum, will post the link if i find it again, named something like "Complete Noobie guide to ROOT and install a custom ROM" or something, this in combination with the use of Goldcardtool (Program, to find on google ) worked like a charm
greets, Summoner
PS: Thx for pressing the "Thanks" button if i was able to help you
edit: Found Link!
look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
if that doesn't work out of the box, search for "HTC Hero T mobile Goldcard tool" or something like this on Google, there are tutorials and the program does the big work for you, you just need to put your sd card in pc, run the program, register to the opening website, receive the goldcard image via email, flash it to your sd card (program does for you), put card back in and continue wih the tutorial above
hello guys.iam looking for someone who can help me and knowledgable in rooting.i am running android 2.3 and cant find a tut on how to root my device.i have cloudfone excite 350i.this is a local smartfone from
phil.you might not know this but i just want to ask if rooting is just simmilarwith all device as long as iam running android 2.3.tnx guys.
A very generic way of rooting android phone is to get temporary root access using some kernel hacks which should work on most phones. For android 2.3 can try apps like visionary or bin4ary for this.
Once you have temporary root access, remount the system folder (depends on your phone) and push the superuser binary and apk to your phone system partition. Next reboot should provide you root access on your phone.
Hi everyone
I have the following tablet made by Mach Speed Technologies:
Trio Stealth G2 7" display
1GB RAM
CPU: Dual Cortex-A9 Dual 1.5GHz Multi-Core (its a dual core with a total of 1.5GHz)
its not rooted yet, I don't know how. If it needs to be rooted for this can someone quick explain that?
It came with Android 4.0 and has never updated through the settings, and the factories website does not even mention this tablet. The guy at Radioshack said I could install the update myself so here I am trying to figure out how.
If possible my original plan was to just instal the newest Android release. But today I just found out about ROM's.
So how do I install the newest Android release or if that's not possible a very secure custom ROM?
On one website it just said to put the rom image on a sd card (or in my case a microsd card) and put it in the tablet, then the tablet would use it as an update after asking you with a pop up. Is that true?
I have a bit of experience with Linux and coding but none with Android
with that update through sd card is true but most of times you need to have specific app or recovery as it may be treated as a rom and in that case you need to be rooted and have recovery. if you have experience u good with android as it is based on unix core
Well, I guess the first step is to be rooted then? How do I go about doing that?
I have the "Root with Restore by Bin4ry" downloaded on my computer and the usb driver installed from the google sdk manager.
But my computer does not see my tablet at all.
I have the same tab I have got adb to somewhat pick it up an it has aml flashtool and safe mode this shows u how to get into all those all but for safe mode copy this an past after youtube.com
