Hey guys,
I just recently discovered the MIUI custom ROM for Android - and i've just fallen in love with it... Unfortunately I am new to this concept of installing custom ROM, and have a few crucial questions. The first one being - is it possible to even install this ROM on my android? I have purchased imported phone, from China (the W007 Android); For this I have done quite a bit of looking around, but unfortunately (where ever I have found a download link) for the MIUI- their all just specific versions (for specific phones). I am sooo interested in installing this onto my phone, but I cannot find a valid version for my phone... The Phone Details Follow:
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V14, 2012/04/20 17:38
Kernel Version: 3.0.13 Sat Jun 9 13:12:07
Build Number: ALPS.ICS.MP.V1.11
Model Number: e1809c_v75_jbl_253
(Please just ask me for anything that is needed)
Second question was... Will I need to Root my phone, inorder to install this custom rom? I was asking this as, I believe that the warranty for the phone becomes void, if it is Rooted?
If you guys could please help me out with this little problem - It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced. :fingers-crossed:

Discovery V5
Hi, I've recently bee looking into getting this phone but am not sure if its worth getting due to the lack of ram. I am looking for a rugged phone on a budget for when I do 'out-doorsy' stuff. would anybody that owns the phone give me a quick review and a list of what it can and can't do and overall if it is worth getting (I know somewhere that I can get it for £67). thank you and if it is possible to root it this will be a big bonus.
Unrooteable???

If anyone know any mode for rooting this phone, please help!
Hardware : MT6575 (MT6517 is Fake!)
Model : Z3Z6Z7
Build number : Z3Z6Z7 20130106-121916

I don't know anymore what kind of cpu is in there. Before it was with sc8810,maybe they did an upgrade to some mtk cpu.Antutu benchmark is around 5200.
It's not ics,probably 2.3!
This works!

Use this, it worked for me on this same model phone. Just run this program, then connect phone to PC with USB debugging enabled. You will then need to click the blue button in bottom right corner.
It will install a chinese language Superuser but simply install SuperSU or Superuser from Play Store and make sure you press the right hand button when the chinese superuser request pops up when you go to update the su binary in the english SuperSu or Superuser.
**After you have updated su binary in the english version of Superuser/SuperSU, then you can delete the chinese version and still keep root. After the su binary is updated root access control gets handed off to the english version.**
Hope this helps!
***EDIT*** You have google to find Vroot, cant post a link to it on XDA.
I found the solution

Hi,
Off top of my head, did you try the Chinese root program I posted above? If that don't work I would say to try Root by Restore next and if that don't work either, try motochopper.
Let me know if any of the 3 methods work. If it had a MT65xx processor I know another method but you would need to install antutu and it will tell you all device specific information we need.

I too used this solution and installed the English Superuser along with the chinese version above and it worked like a charm. Dont forget to keep both versions to maintain root.

Not true! You do not need to keep the chinese version, once you install English Superuser or SuperSU and use chinese "superuser" to grant access to english version so it can update its own binary you are free to remove the chinese version. That is first thing I did so I know it works, just make sure you grant access with chinese app when updating su binary in english version, after updating english binary you pretty much hand off control of root access to the english version.

Perhaps I didnt grant access right the first time I installed ROOT´óʦ as I had to reinstall it when I went to change something and was prompted that I didnt have the system rooted. I just reinstalled and left it there not knowing better. I love this phone and its perfect so far except bluetooth that I cant get to pair with my hands free system in my 2012 Subaru Forester. Have you had any issues with bluetooth?

Thank you, I am glad I could help. I like to tackle these lesser known phones, I cant hold a candle to the skills of the really well known guys on here, but I try to do my part still I do still have the stock back up made with MTK droid Tools (thank Rua1 for his awesome tool, it comes in handy for these MediaTek devices), I would recommend you download the tool and back up your own phone at least 3 times, it is good to have in case you mess up phone playing with root. Since this is an almost unknown device it is quite hard to find the firmware files for it, I searched the internet looking for a site to get firmware for this phone and found nothing so in short, to be safe, I would REALLY recommend making a few back ups with MTK Droid Tools, worst case I have a prerooted version saved on my PC, if you ever need it let me know.

S4 clone MTK6575 Recorvery mode failed
Hello,
I have got a S4 samsung (fake) I9500 (one sim)
Android 4.2.2
Baseband: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V37,2013/06/19 15:44

Compilation number JDQ39.I9500ZHUAMDE
Compilation version 1373015782
I have tried to root it with your explanations here but I got a "temporary rooted" message.
Droid tools says that software does not correspond to the hardware.
And when I try to enter the recovery mode I can't select the options (I attach an image)
Could you please help?
Thank you very much in advance.
I'm looking for some advice about rooting my android device. I'd like su permission, so I can remove protected bloatware, use apps such as Root Explorer, etc.
The device is listed on Amazon as an Allwinner A13 (correct, I think) with Android 4.0. However, on my "tablet information" screen, the Android version is given as 4.1.1.
Here's all the info from the "about tablet" tab on the settings screen:
Model number: Q88.
Android version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: v0.4rc3
Kernel version: 3.0.8+ [email protected] #284
Build number: nuclear_evb-eng 4.1.1 JRO03C 20130531 test-keys
The device arrived with no clear documentation, and it's a bit hit-and-miss what you end up with, with these - my friend ordered the same item and ended up with a device with different apps installed, and his device was already rooted when he took it out of the box!
Is there a way to root without using a computer? (I don't have ready access to a PC right now.) I've tried Poot and a couple of other apps, but no luck so far.
Thanks in advance for any help; I'll be eternally grateful.

Ah, someone in the same boat. Have you found any more info on rooting these, since your post? They obviously can be rooted - as I said, I know someone with the same model, Q88, that already had full root access, straight out of the box.
Let me know if you find anything out; I'm still looking.
With the poot/ministro method, I'm just getting an error message about a "daemon has materialised". It hasn't harmed my device, but neither am I any closer to su permission.
[rant]We really shouldn't have to jump through any hoops to get control over our own devices. Imagine if you bought a PC, and you didn't have admin access to Windows. If you ask why, you're told: "well, you might delete your system files, and we can't trust you not to!"[/rant]

My tablet is a allwinner a13 too. And this process worked flawlessly. But you have to use a computer.

Hello, I recently obtained one of those myself (Rohs P 900). I don't think the root access will be a problem, but i would like to put in a lighter OS. I plan to use it as an electricity domotics controller indoors only.
Any hints or tips or pref links to what would be a good operating system ROM to use?
Thanks in advance
