Bricked HD2 Help...... - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

No Boot loader
Not charging
No lights
Nothing by pressing vol down and power buttons
Nothing by pressing both vol buttons and reset button
Turned off for hours without battery and pressed power button for long time to drain the battery and turned back on.
Nothing works any more ideas.
But when I connect it to my laptop it does make a notification sound that a new device is connected and is called the qualcomm cdma technologies msm.
If I have bricked it and no solutions and I have warranty should I call HTC or my insurance company?

If lucky, it may be your charger is faulty,so will not charge battery. This will cause enough power to go through USB cable from pc to recognize phone, but not enough power to charge it.
Do you have a car charger or a standard usb charger that you can try.
If you 'bricked' it through software altering, warranty will not cover this, nor will insurance. Warranty will only cover hardware fault and insurance accidental damage to phone,

[Solution]SI E10 Cannot power on or charging problem

SI E10 Cannot power on or charging problemApplicable for: Xperia X10 mini / E10
Description:
In rare cases the E10’s charger can be detected as a PC, this will greatly prolong the charging time.
If a phone have shut down due to low battery and is detected as a PC connection, the time before start up
voltage is reached will be very long.
Solution:
1. Remove the charger from phone and power outlet.
2. Attach the charger to the phone
3. Attach the charger to the power outlet
Reminder:
A hardware reset is done by pressing the on/off button at the top and the Home (middle) button at the same
time.
Hhmmm, quite easy to do a hardware reset accidently, is it really that simple?

Charging in WP7

I got problems with WP7 battery charging so I decided to find out some infos about it.
In WM to build external charger you need to cross D+ and D- in usb (signal wires). In WP7 it's doesn't do the trick, it wouldn't charge.
Also USBHub also doesn't charge it.
The only way to charge TG01 in WP7 is to plug it into computer's usb port, then red led will appear and it will charge pretty fast.
If your battery got drowned too low to boot the phone, recharge it manually witl cut usb cable and red wire to + and black wire to -, hold about a minute or two and then boot the phone and charge.
Is there a solution yet to charge the phone in WM7? Can not we make a home charger?
thanks
you can. I am charging phone with regular charger i got with toshiba

the same here- i have no problems with battery or charging .......
So toshiba charger does something else than just shorting d+ and d-, I've built my own charger which works in winmo, but doesn't work with wp7
ok, thanks for the explanation
Hi,
i also use not orginal charger and it works fine ,but problem occure when battery will got drowned.
In this case the same charger will cause that led will be orange suggesting that charging process was started ,but in fact it won't charge. (phone was left in this condition for 10hourse without any progression)
I had the same situation with wm6.5 and then it was enough to plug this phone to usb, after a while it was able to charge.
But when you have wp7 phone will try to continuously boot up and charging won't start. So one solution is as Aeroflyluby wrote: charge this battery manualy for a one minute or you can do as follow:
1. plug phone into usb
2. hold down volume - and volume + and press power - this procedure will start bootloader menu
3. press volume + to select boot source = USBFb serial
4. press volume - until you will see Device ready to download image...and orange led lights up
there will be of course error information but it doesn't matter.
Important is that this procedure will force charge mode .
This procedure will not damage or erase your current ROM.
Regards, Tom
I can confirm that need only short +D and -D. I convert a generic car USB charger for my toshiba with this method .

[Q] Dead touchpad?

Haven't use TP for a while, try to turn it on yesterday, saw a warning said battery is too low and TP needs charge. Charged overnight (9 hours), now can't turned on anymore, no light, no warning. Did I brick the TP?
ways tried to boot:
power button > 30sec
power + home more than 15 sec.
power + home more 10 times
power + volume up + home > 30 sec
It doesnt sound like you did anything. Did you use the OEM charger and cable, are they known to work. I would guess that he battery is dead. Check your charger with another device and try again. Plug it into your computer for a couple hours...
Since you didn't elaborate too much, my guess is that you didn't try to charge it with the stock charger and cable. The touchpad pretty much wont charge without it or the Touchstone. I've even tried an ipad 2.1A charger and it didnt do jack to the TP, over an 8hr period. Matter of fact, I think it drained the batt even more.

Also if you are using the HP charger make sure that the end of the plug did not turn or come loose. The end with the two prongs that goes into the wall can twist off to change the type of socket it will work with.
What charger are you using? Stock HP, Wall Plug or Touchstone? USB cables can be abused to the point of having intermittent connect. Non-HP chargers may not have the 2.5 amp source. Watch the rotation of the AC prongs. Check your charger against other USB devices.

I am using the stock HP wall charger. I have two TPs, one was flashed cm9, the other still runs webos 3.0.4 ( OTA upgraded ), and rearly used after then. The charger is used daily basis for the cm7(now is cm 9) one.
Will try the ways mentioned above. Thanks for all your replies.

Battery won't charge when phone is off

1. My phone never charges when the phone is completely off. It seems to only charge when in Android. Is this normal?
2. How do you enter that rapid battery recharge service mode from the boot menu's? The mode I'm referring to is when the phone has not booted Android but all it's doing is recharging the battery with the screen off. If you press the power button, the screen turns on for a second showing you the battery level.

Mine does that by default. When I plug it in to charge when three phone ifs switched off, it well show me A image of a battery with water like thing inside our and the charge level..
Did you change something in the phone?

I decided to try a USB wall charger and it's now showing that image of a battery.
Do you ever see that battery image when you plug the phone into a PC USB Port? My PC has decent powered ports (almost 1000ma) but it just won't charge the phone when powered off. But charges when in Android.
I basically only flashed a retail ROM and updated the Radio.
Something to check into is the USB cable that you are using...swap it out with another one.
Speaking from experience with a different Android (DInc), I know I have plugged it into some cables that provide just power via USB (no data) and then I am guessing there is the possibility that there are some that provide data and no power.
The USB cable is perfectly fine, I tried another cable anyway and the same thing happened.
I tried three PC's including a Desktop with decent USB ports, none of them charge the phone while turned off. I tried two USB Wall Adapters and both can power the phone while off.
So it seems that if the USB Port cannot supply more than say 1.5Amp or 2Amps (basically all PC USB Ports), it won't go into battery charge mode.

[Q] Huawei Y300 (U8833) only turns on and works, using a usb cable not battery?

Hello, my Huawei y300 (u8833) only turn on and works while I plug in my usb cable either (charge). My phone doesn't turn on when i press the power button and I'm on just my battery, amazingly it turns on instantly after i plug in the usb charger and remove the battery. So i got a little tired of having to plug in my phone all the time and not use it on battery. Any help? I dropped my phone 9 months ago and it didn't work back then but i never tried the usb cable on without battery. But now after 9 months i plugged in usb cable and no battery and *boom* it works. Any advice as to what is going on? Can i ever get it to work from my battery? (BTW there is a red notification light (not blinking) if i put battery in along with usb cable. Thanks for any help.
Update: Somehow its charging my battery!
Update: (PS:I'm rooted and have cwm)
Update: I'm fuc*ing stupid, its now working on battery! Sorry to have waster your time
