Hi guys,
about one year ago (or more?) I flashed WM6.1 from newplow`s website on my N560.
Since this my N560 destroyed more than 5 (five) SD Cards. The file system is damaged and some folders can`t be deleted. Even new formating of theses cards can`t bring them back to live.
It is very bad, because 4 of 5 times I was on holiday and my TomTom maps weren`t readable anymore!
Is this a problem of an old WM6.1 firmware?
If you tell me how/where to find out the exact firmware version, I can post it here.
Hopefully,
duffy6

Hi, I got one big problem while I was upgrading my Qtek 2020 from ROM 1.58fr to the Launch ROM fom O2. During the pocess I guess that I lost the connection and the upgrade failed.
I tried to launch it about 10 times without any results. When I switch on my Qtek I just see a grey screen showing me the version of the ROM I tried to install 1.03.
Now, as I cannot do that from my PC I would like to try from a SD card with the XDAtool. However, where do I find a ROM I can use to install my XDA with this tool and how do I boot from my SD card ?
Thanks for your help, I'm a bit disapointed for the moment.

Information on the SD Card upgrades can be found on another forum topic, here, obviously I don't need to tell you to be cautios when doing this.
As for finding a ROM, you can either use the one from a rom-kitchen, like lumpensteins rom-kitchen, or register and download one from your service provider and start installing it, but remove the files from the temp directory and put those on an SD card. There are plenty topics in these forums with more detailed instructions, so I suggest you search more.
I acidently loaded the firmware for I-mate on to my XDA II and now all that comes up on the screen is HTC engineering mobility V0.23. I also can't get it to sink. What should i do?
This is a Demo phone i got for free so i cant send it back.
Thanks for any help
1. I can reassure you that you really did destroy your OS!
2. Try search at this site, this sort of topic has been being discussed since...
...I don't remember!
3. Have a glance at threads, discussing SD method of OS flashing + you'll need a ROM image file (for any kind of XDA2) and an SD card (>=64Mb).
Loading a new rom with an MMC or SD card
ok i went to www.romkitchen.de and created a rom for pocket pc 2002. So now all i need to do is load it on to my MMC card, put in into my XDA2 and reboot?
Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003 for a XDA2
Should i use Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003 for a XDA2?
Stop!!! The site you are looking at is cooking roms for the old XDA 1, it is not for XDA 2!
TY, i got a copy of some one elses OS, and im going to try to flash it with an SD card.
That didnt work, I dont think im putting it on the SD card right? Do i just copy it to the card or do i need to do somthing to the .nb1 file to make it a boot file?
Also my Bootloader is V0.23 kinda old.
Does any one know of a place i can send this to get it fixed in the US? This is a Demo phone i dont think i can send it back to O2.
Don't give it up yet.
1. XDA2 ROMs are marked 1.xx (1.60, 1.72...) - you need this ones.
2. How do you put it to the SD? You need OSimageTool or maybe other program to put it to the card in RAW format - not converted by active sync or so...
I tried using the OSimageTool to save the .nb1 into the .img but it tells me "don’t know how to write distinationfile". I was able to convert the .nb1 in to a .nbf but that’s it. Is there another conversion program out there?
Sorry i ment "destinationfile" all one word
xdatools are ONLY for xda1
if you want to mess with xda2 flashing

Is there a way to make a boot disk out of an SD card if so how?
Mine is defiantly wiped if I try to run an update to 1.60 using HimaUpgradeUt.exe it show all my image versions as blank. When I hit upgrade it just hangs on the install screen that says "current software is now being erased from your pocket PC. This will take only a few minutes." The progress bar never advances from there, I've tried to reset and it’s the same thing over and over.
First I appologize for the delay in the availability of this ROM. I was out of town on some business, and the site was down again for a certain time.
To get down to the details, this ROM is the complete set of all three .nbf files, I chose the 2.06 NK.nbf because the cleartype fonts are way better than the 2.02. The radio stack included is version 1.18, and the extended ROM (ms_.nbf) is a customized 2.06.100a, which is a mixture of the extended ROM that dcs posted, the one that came with the 2.06 ROM from the mystery guy and the official Asian 1.60.44 ROM.
I had to remove a couple of the Asian telco provider settings because there was no more space left in the extended ROM since the new versions of the software had larger file sizes than before, and the AutoConfig for Asian telcos alone takes up a lot of space too.
I still included the Extended ROM Viewer and almost all of the newer versions of the software included in the extended ROMs posted by dcs and the mystery guy.
The following telco providers were removed (due to their file sizes being the largest):
1. 1010
2. One2Free
The Socket SDIO Wi-Fi that were available in the previous ROM I posted were also removed due to the lack of space, the SPB GPRS Monitor that was provided as part of one of the extended ROMs posted was also removed. The thumbpad driver is in the extended ROM but does not auto-install, since some times it causes problems, you may install it separately by just clicking on the cab file.
The files removed are included in the .ZIP file so that they may be installed separately if desired.
I would like to thank dcs, mamaich, the mystery man and all other developers who contributed to this endeavor.

I am not too clear about the problem, you flashed your device with the ROM I posted?
This did not happen to me during the multiple times I flashed my device and my dad's device.
I am a bit puzzled here, can anyone help in this matter? ANy similar experiences?
It's so difficult to download! :? I must have tried at least 6 to 7 times. Each time it just stop there.
hi people, i m new to this forum and new to xda2. Just wondering, how do u guys download and load up all the upgrades? hope u pros can give me some pointers.... thanks in advance
Finally managed to download the file. Do I need to do anything before installing the new ROM?
I had once tried to upgrade my unit (blame it on initial enthusiasm, I'd seen all these talks about upgrading to newer ROM versions everywhere on the net that I downloaded an upgrade 2 weeks before I actually bought my device) with a ROM version I had downloaded from O2's UK (The unit was bought from singapore/Honkgkong...Asia ROM presumably)site which naturally and the consequenses were very depressing , I was left with a dead machine on my hands and nobody I knew could be of any help. Anyway that had been taken care of a couple of days back when it reflashed at an authorised service centre.
Well that being that , now that its working fine and now that I see all this talk about windows mobile 2003 SE here I have this irresistable urge to try upgrading mu unit to run SE.
A couple of things before I try to get adventurous
1)How do I do a backup of of EVERYTHING ON MY MACHINE ( Original BASIC/Just out of the box/First time run software included ) So that I don't have to take a week off work just to get the unit reflashed.
2) How do I do a restore all of the backed up data on my device if the 2003SE upgrade doesnt work? From what I have learnt , it isnt anything like a regular computer where just about anyone can format boot and reload windows if it crashes.
I figure a dead PPC is like a regular computer with a dead bios.
I can understand that this post is about 5 times the length of a usual post here but I just had to get all my backup plans in place before I jump off a cliff.
you can use either the x-backup in the xda itself and making a complete back up to your sd or mmc card or make a backup via active sync on the tools menu
where is the download link??

I have an xda II australian model, i want windows media player 10, can i use the chinese rom??
This is gonna be my first time to update the ROM of my device so some questions:
Did you include upgrade instructions on the zip?
How do I disable some of the .cab files on the extended rom? I dont like some of them.
Had any probs with this rom on Globe?
~ishtangli
What's the BT software on the new rom? Widcomm or MS?
Hi, I already read a lot in the forum and the wiki, but as my first try to update my rom went terribly wrong I tend to ask some pros for help
I got me a used XDA1, it worked fine and was a german O2 Model. Then I got the last Update from O2 (3.19) and updated it with success. Then I wanted to unlock it with your Special Edition Rom, downloaded it and tried to apply it just like the O2 one via active sync and progam A. Result was, that my xda got stuck, now I can only see the empty transfer bar on the xda and can´t connect to the xda with active sync anymore. Both resets won´t help to bring the xda back to live the silly bar comes back every time... I can still get into the bootloader, though. As far as I understand I can still get the thing working again with a SD-Card and a rom on it? Can someone pleasepleaseplease tell me which card to buy (I don´t have one jet...) and how to get a onto this card and where I can get this rom? I still have the Files this O2 exe unzipped onto my disk and theres a nice 31MB NK.nbf in the Program/German folder. I already found the description how to flash from a SD-card with the bootloader, I just don´t know where to find the right rom and how to put it on a card... And maybemaybe, could someone tell me the right way to get this O2 xda working with a D1 card without getting it stuck again???
Thanks a lot to all your answers, I really need this thing to work again, and still ask myself how I could try to update the rom without reading enough, seems I will cry into my pillow till it works again cause it´s the only cell I got at the moment
Download xdatools and install, choose the nbf file as source and your card reader/writer as destination, choose this from the drop down menu at the bottom. You will need a 64 meg minimum sd card, a card reader/writer, xdatools and the nbf file. Once xdatools has programmed the sd card you insert into xda, push reset while holding power, when prompted push the action key which is the centre of the 4 way rocker switch. You will find many roms in the the kitchen that is kindly run my lumpistefan. Make sure to choose sd card flashing at base of screen before cooking rom. Here is the link for the rom kitchen.

thanks a lot for the fast answer I got all the progs and the original 3.19 german o2 rom from rom kitchen. Now I´ll just have to get me a SD-Card... One more little question. I can´t turn the XDA off with the powerswitch and after reseting it also turns on automatically. I´ll have to wait till Monday to buy a SD-Card, so is there a way to get the thing off although it is still in transfermode or will I have to leave it on and in the cradle?
If you want it switched off completely, just poke once into the hole under the headphone socket, this will completely disconnect the battery, when you want it back on just push once again. Always do that procedure after flashing a rom also, push once then leave for on eminute, push once more to switch back on with new rom and noot sequence.
works fine, thanks
Hello. I got an interesting problem happening with my Huawei P9 EVA09 I believe the EVA is.
Anyways a few months back I was attempting to get the Android Update off of Huawei's web site for my phone. During the steps, I either missed the note or it was never mentioned, to put the DLoad Folder and ZIP stuff on the SD Card and I copied the files onto the Internal Drive Instead.
Now whether I downloaded the wrong file or I was linked to the wrong file, my phone failed the Flash/Update about like 10-25% saying it was not compatible or wrong version (again, we're going a few months back in memory here)
I learned that rather than cancelling the process and going back to the regular Android, it just screwed the whole phone up and is stuck in an infinite boot loop.
Huawei's Desktop app you connect with the phone won't help
Recovering by downloading the latest version via WiFi on the P9 Fails to get the Package Info, so that's out of the question.
Wipe Data and Factory Reset fails at 0% with an exclamation mark in less than a second.
I also spent days searching the net for solutions but every search just brings up the same solution:
Get the correct DLoad/ZIP for the model, copy it to the SD, then boot the phone with the key presses that start the flashing process.... Problem solved.
But it's not because every time I do this, my phone finds the one on the internal storage and loads that before going for the one on the SD Card, and I have no idea how to gain access to the internal drive to remove the DLoad folder to fix my phone.
I have been primarily a Windows Mobile user for the last number of years, but my 950XL has been giving me problems with my SIM card flaking out every so often, requiring a reboot. I got the P9 essentially for free when I upgraded my plan with Vodafone Aus. So my experience with Android and these sorts of messes is limited.
I'm used to fixing and figuring out Windows Issues since Windows 3.11.... But this issue with my P9 has got me stumped. After searching online on and off for the last few months, I figured this is my last hope to ask the experts here and hopefully find a solution.
I got the right Flash/ROM/Recovery for my P9 all ready to go and load from the SD, followed videos, got it all sorted.... I just can't get it to work with the other files stuck on the Internal Drive and I need access to delete the folder.
But I'm in a Boot Loop.
By the way, it's a Locked P9 from Vodafone Australia.
Any assistance will be appreciated greatly. It's a nice phone, but it was two Android Versions Out Dated and I didn't think the Files from Huawei's site would have messed it up so badly. If this is fixed, I'll leave it at the original version until I need to replace the P9. Sucks, but I would rather that than a bricked device.
I'm back on my 950XL for now and was going fine so I put this problem on the back burner. But now the SIM card is messing up in the 950XL, requiring a restart every day or two. So now I need to try and fix the P9.
Thanks in Advance.
TL;DR
I need to gain access to the Internal Drive of a Locked P9 while stuck in a Boot Loop so I can delete the DLoad Folder located on the Internal Drive.
