I've been around for some years know reading and learning and have almost always found what I needed in this forums to have my devices working as I wanted them to work. This time I searched allover and can't find anything to help me out.
I have a sim card with two numbers (lines). When I switch lines the name of the line appears after the operator name and I always know what line I have active. Recently I flashed a new rom and now when I switch lines the name doesn't change. To have the correct name I have to reset my phone. Is there a way to fix this.
Thanks a lot
Cookie Home Tab Mods maybe?
are you using Cookie Home Tab? If so maybe you could look up this setting in the misc settings page in Cookie Home Tab Editor. If you leave it blank your provider name will appear. If you do not have CHT installed, maybe it will help you to accomplish this. I would install these Mods to look and see if it works. Good luck!
Thank you for your reply.
The provider name and the line name shows up fine. My problem is when I switch lines the name of the line don't change. I have to soft reset to make it change.
you would probably be best trying to get an answer from the whoever cooked the rom...
hope that helps
Thanks. I'll do that.

Hi all,
my first post and new to this.
Got my HTC a few days ago and had been hit by surprise, that it does not seem to support "ALS" Alternative Line Service which allows to be reachable with 1 SIM under 2 different Phone Nbrs and usual to toggle between them for outgoing calls.
Searched various threads and posts but couldn`t find much on the topic " alternative line service " other than the Orig. ROM, settings do not support this - hence, posting my question.
I am looking for a ROM, Tweak or Program that enables the HTC touch pro to use/support ALS (alternative line service). Useing German line provider EPLUS.
Ideal would be in german but english would do as well.
The SIM is enabled and works proper on my old Nokia phone.
Any feedback, input, support and help would be much appreciated.
Thanks - Stephan
I've seen entries in the registry for this, i believe you can just flip a couple of registry settings to enable it, can't test it though as my sim does not support it. if youd like me to dig up the registry entries, let me know
Da_G, thanks - yes, that would be great, happy to try it
FYI - I have advanced config installed and there was a setting like " show ALS page " but that didn`t change anything :-(
These are the 2 I found:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableALSSupport"=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting]
"ShowALSPage"=dword:1
I imagine both your rilphone.dll and phonesetting.dll need to have support for als built in, they may need to be the specific dlls from the rom that works.
great stuff - thanks - I am one step further, I can now switch between the lines and do outgoing call on both lines after setting your above recommended registry settings but only one line works for incomeing which is line 1 the main line.
line 2 works only for ourgoing but not for incomeing calls
does anyone knows a fix ?
Hmm, you could try EnablePPCLine2VMN=dword:1 in the same spot as disablealssupport went, not sure what that does.. don't see any registry entries otherwise that are obvious for this, might have to use the rilphone.dll/phonesettings.dll from the rom that works
hhmm, can`t find that one or do I have to add it ?
Do you know which ROM works ?
Well, you said the original rom works, so you would need to extract it, get the rilphone.dll and phonesettings.dll from it, and cook them into whatever rom you are using..
Da_G, first thanks for all your help so far and sorry, in case I wan`t that clear - ALS is not supported on the orig ROM :-( that is why I was looking for a ROM that does or a tweak/program like you outlined which nearly made it work
Oh I see. Well, sorry, I don't know any further on the issue to help then
My only suggestion would be to try rilphone.dll/phonesettings.dll from a rom that does support als, i don't know of one that does, but maybe someone else? maybe the dialer too.. duno.
There's an AT Command that deals with ALS, if you want to try that..
AT+ALS? to query it (set to 0 on mine)
AT+ALS=1 to set it to 1
AT tool can be found in my post in raphael software forum msm72xx chipset tools

As per the subject. i tried using searches but nothng worked, so here's the question in full.
There is this program that comes with a lot of the roms now a days, it lets you download other software like a 'nix repository. I dont know the name and i dont know how to search the forums for it. but im sure someone knows what it is, the icon has an arrow on it i think and a globe maybe and it connects to a server to get a list of apps for wm etc. any help would b appreciated.
update PDMProject, i remembered i got an email from them with an activation key. few thousand emails later found the app.
cheers
Hi all,
I've updated to the latest Vodafone Rom available on HTC's website (3.14.161.3) and since then then the T9 Add My Word feature no longer works properly.
If I add a new word to the dictionary, 1 of 3 things will happen:
1) Remember it until I open up a new SMS
2) Remember it until I turn the phone off and on (did call this soft reboot previously)
3) Not remember it at all
As you can imagine, it's getting annoying now as I honestly thought, "This must be a ROM update issue, I'm sure there'll be a fix soon". I rang HTC support and of course it's the usual, "Not heard of this before".
I've Googled and searched and I can see that some people have the problem but not as much as I expected. I can only imagine that the problem is experienced more if you use the phone pad style keyboard rather than the full Qwerty.
From what I can find, there's a T9xxx.db in the root of Windows directory that get's updated when you add a new word. But when the dictionary recalls words that it knows, it refers to a T9xxx.db file that's located in a T9 FOLDER within the Windows directory. I've reinstalled the update 3 times since December and each time the feature doesn't work.
In simple terms, it's the same as you picking an item up with your right hand, place the item in your right pocket but when you want it, you use your left hand to go to your left pocket and wonder why it's not there.
Any idea when this can be fixed? Can it be fixed? Is anyone else experiencing this using the phone pad style keyboard layout?
Thanks for any help given.

this has always happened. At least it has for me, on all winmo roms since O2 1.42 rom. It used to do it on my old xda2i too.

Eeek! I think I've got soft reboot confused with something else. What I mean is when I turn the phone off and on.
yep me too,
maybe im confusing the save words from whilst typing, , when you add a word, and the xtmywords or whatever its called app?
ive never added the words using the .exe in /windows/ , i do it when typing in int exp or sms, and come across a word, add it there and then, but yea, a soft reset( reboot ) and the added words are gone.
One of the reasons i learned how to cook was so i could hard add words to the HTCMDB.txt file pre flash.
Perhaps the app works differently than adding from the keyboard?
I've added words from within the SMS and from eT9MyWords from the root directory and still it doesn't remember words added after a reboot. Before the update it was working just fine.
I added all I liked through both within the SMS and eT9MyWords and all the words were remembered after a reboot.
So I dug around a little more and found one person who had a similar thing and as far as I can tell they never resolved it.
There's a folder within Windows called ET9IMEDB (\My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\). Within this folder are two files, ET9ASDB and ET9RUDB. What used to happen as far as I know, when you add words either within the SMS or using the eT9MyWords.exe, one of the two files within \My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\ folder would have the words added to it. When you then type a new SMS, the saved words are recalled from one of these two files.
The 3.14 update now adds the new words to a file outside of the ET9IMEDB folder to a file called ET9RUDBW. But when you type a new SMS, it looks at the files within the \Windows\ET9IMEDB\ folder instead of the ET9RUDBW file outside of \Windows\ET9IMEDB\.
So basically if function is add new word it goes here:
\My Device\ET9RUDBW
If function is recall added new words, it looks here:
\My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\
instead of:
\My Device\ET9RUDBW
Question is, how do I point it to look at the file it updates and not one that it used to update?
as an alternative, THIS method lets you add not just words but sentences (with spaces) too. Great for hard coding addresses.
its not one-word-at-a-time friendly, but useful none the less.
Post 6 of THIS thread has more notes on putting whole sentences into htcmdb.txt

Ah cool, I'll give that a go. Although it would be nice that Add My Word worked as it did before. Still, nice little work around until I grab a different phone or a patch/fix comes out.
Thank you
Has anyone else suffered from the Weather not being able to connect and update for the last 5 days or so? I don't think I did anything around the time it stopped to cause it
I'm on the Artemis 63.0 ROM on an HD2 with 6 world cities and "My Location". They have been working fine for 3 months or so. I only update when on WiFi or Active Sync and do my shares at the same time. Shares still work fine (as does everything else), just the Wx stopped with a "Connection Error". I have read through loads and tried "Cornflipper" which actually started "My Location" working correctly again (Village in Spain) but the other locations all fail with the same error. I tried switching to N2A (using Stylze (?) switcher) but all fail again so have reverted to Cornflipper. I believe when I set it all up ages ago I was using Accuweather as a server but I'm stumped now as can't remember where I went to set that up.
I realize it's probably something I've done but I've spent quite a few hours on it now and am getting a headache
Any ideas?
No problems at all here, but just read this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21528198#post21528198 .... maybe useful
I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm on a standard ROM. Looks like accuweather.com is working, but not2advanced.com is not.
Had the same problem, checked poyensas link and deleted/changed the URL in the registry and now it's working again!

Thanks so much poyensa.
Been going round and round but followed your link and on to http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/windows-m...-hct-weather-server-accuweather-directly.html where it gives the Accuweather server details and never realised you could input it from Weather City Editor. Dead easy and up and running again. Did try the reg edit first but even after reboot no success. probably got a letter wrong but couldn't sort it hence trying the ongoing links.
Thanks again
City code not appended to URL
Hi,
I've made the registry change to 'Weather.ServerURLOverride' as specified in poyensa's link (above), and I still cannot get my weather working.
I manually tried the URL in a browser, appending a city code, and the XML came back fine (so the city code I am using is still valid).
I modified the 'Weather.ServerURLOverride' registry entry, and inserted a test server host, so I could see what data/URL the weather update was sending, and this is what I got in the Apache log...
"GET /widget/htc/forecast-data_v3.asp?ac=TR2cra9U&locCode= HTTP/1.1" 404 526 "-" "HTC HTTP Service"
The 404 is expected, as this is my server, but as you can see, there is no city code appended after 'locCode=' in the URL.
I've deleted all of the city entries, added them back in, added others I'd not already tried, and soft-reset the device, but it appears that the weather no longer sends the city code.
If I append a valid city code to the registry entry, then I get the weather, but obviously this means that I can only have one city entry! So, this proved I'd not made a typeo in the registry.
Any help appreciated.
I'm using a stock O2 ROM, with CHT2. Has been working fine for ages, and like everyone else, stopped about 5 days ago.
Thanks

Went to ppcgeeks, input Accuweather server info using Weather City Editor, and problem solved!! Thanks a lot!
Reg entry removal seems to work
Hi again,
So I completely removed the 'Weather.ServerURLOverride' registry entry, and the weather started to work fine.
It looks like the 'Weather.ServerURLOverride' reg entry is not required.
Hope this helps someone else.
Thanks
I've been trying both the change of the registry entry and its removal. None of them worked. Any help in solving the problem would be rather appreciated. ROM is 3.14.408.2 (04666)ITA.
hi,
im looking for all the registry to add manually this city EUR|FR|FR022|ALLINGES.
Any ideas ?
