depends what hspl you have, i think.
did you follow the directions here? also, when you load hspl on your cpu (at least hspl3) there are directions to remove it (don't have to have the phone connected to read them).
what i did (tmous) with 2.08xx that finally worked (thanks samsamuel!)-
1- manually put the phone into bootloader
2- connect to computer via usb
3- load hspl3 and selected 2.0800 of whatever original one it needed
hope it helps.

flashing from SD card with a stock rom covers everything, HSPL and radio

Does this mean we should expect to see a new official ROM in the near future though?

I click in the link and it redirect me to another page, and I keep looping.
Now I'm in Costa Rica and maybe I need to be in USA to download this file.
Could someone upload the file to megaupload or rapidshare or something similar.
I will appreciate that

Where is this official leaked ROM you speak of for the pure?
Only ROMs I see out is 3rd party cooked ROMs. Not anywhere close to the quality of official ROMs. And only ROMs that I've seen out that makes a huge difference in anything is the ones with Manila 2.5. Which are horrible in the sense that MMS doesn't work on them, because there is no way of opening it unless you do a registry hack and add a cab for it to open in windows messaging client.
finally! i've been looking forward to this
Thanks

Hi
Hello How can I change the band to the following:
Network Type : GSM
Band Frequency: GSM (900+1800+UMTS(2100+900)
Here is a little FYI for anyone interested. I am not sure why but, loading this rom did not replace the HardSPL. Being curious, I had to find out how I could use the stock SPL in this rom to go back to being completely stock. I am not sure if what I did is correct but it worked for me.
I extracted the spl.nbh and ruu_signed.nbh from the HTC download. I tried just running the spl.nbh by renaming it to TOPAIMG.nbh and copying it to the root of the SD. Everytime it would read the file and try to replace the spl it would fail and go back to the load screen. So, I relocked the spl using the spl relocker 1.33 (? I think that was the version). I then applied the spl.nbh (renamed to TOPAIMG.nbh) and it replaced the SPL with a version 1.78. It then looked like it was stuck at 9%. This is apparently some sort of interim SPL used to load the ruu_signed.nbh. After trying to determine what was going on for a little while I decided to put the ruu_signed.nbh (again renamed to TOPAIMG.nbh) on the SD and see what happens. Well, it loaded the original SPL, Radio and ROM and my Pure was 100% stock again.
I am sure there must be an easier way. Perhaps if I had just relocked the SPL with 1.33 and then ran the update it would have been fine. I just wanted to post this information so people know that you can get it back to 100% stock using this download from HTC.

Great find! Any chance that someone could / has extract(ed) the phone canvas out of this rom to see if it addresses the delay issues associated with the topaz and leo roms?

So that confirms you have to relock the spl before it will replace the hardspl with the original spl. That is good to know.
relocker replaces the spl to stock spl version 1.33
flashing again flashes the spl to 1.83

[Q] Stuck at bootloader when trying to flash stock rom

Like the title says, im just stuck at bootloader and instead of booting to the white screen it just stays on bootloader and says "SERIAL".
Ive googled, youtubed, and searched here, and many have the same problem, but i have yet to seen a solution to this.
I have tried android and many custom roms, and now im back on original ROM and everything works great. BUT i have HSPL in my phone and i dont want it for now.
It is a very easy procedure in the guides and should not be a problem, but please how can i get my LEOIMG.nbh to boot from my memorycard?
It is formated FAT32, and i have tried redownload the stock rom and unpacked it with winrar several times, but the result is always the same.
Is there some way to go around this? I Just wanna boot from the memorycard and restore my phone.
FYI, the restore is just for warranty issues.. I just want to be able to go back just to be on the safe side..
Then after that i can try the cooked roms all days
Thanks!
What size is the microSD card? As there has been reports of problems flashing from 16GB cards.
While in bootloader mode, you can plug in the microUSB and the 'Serial' should be replaced by 'USB'. This means that you can run the flashing from the computer (just ignore the requirement for ActiveSync).
Thanks for the quick reply!
I have a 8 GB memorycard.
Just before i read your post i inserted the usbcable and the screen on my htc says "USB".
But how do i uninstall HSPL from my PC in usbmode? Use customRUU and place LEOIMG.nbh in that folder?
If you install either the HTC Stock or your mobile provider's ROM (what ever you need for warranty requirements), they will flash your phone with SPL, ROM and RADIO.
These ROMs are avaiable from your mobile provider's website or via a link in the ROM Section.
Sounds great!
So i just run the original .exe file from my PC when my HTC HD2 is in bootloader screen in USB-mode, correct?
I have alreade flashed with original rom from PC when my phone was online. But then the HSPL did not go away even though my original rom was installed.
I could use alittle help too
when i try to update it stops at 4% tried to flash other energy roms with the same issue. don't know what todo to get past 4%

use the hspl.exe program to remove hspl just like you used it to apply it. just choose a stock spl instead of the hspl.
example, regular hd2, wants to go back to o2 stock everything.
run hspl2, choose 1.66.0000
run the o2 1.72.exe rom over usb.
all done.
if the rom doesn't flash its not the correct stock rom.

At first i used HSPL 3 to install 2.08.0000 HSPL.
But if i run that file again i only have the choice 2.08.0000.
I downloaded a previous version of HSPL, and there i could choose SPL 1.42.0000 wich was my original SPL version before the flash.
Is this a correct way to do this?
I am asking again because even though i now am at the original ROM and Original SPL version the Radio and Protokoll-version differs from the versions when i bought the telephone.
radio and protocol doesn't matter. yes you've done it right. so long as its a stock rom and the spl ends 0000 then it's fine.
Ok thanks!
Then everything is ok now and i am very happy for that, so thanks for all answers!
I can also add that i took my original SD-card (2GB) and put the LEOIMG.nbh on it.
The bootsequence then started ok when holding down volumebutton and power on.
But the result was exactly the same as it was when flashing to stock SPL with HSPL2 utility.
So the booting-problem was memorycard related.. So it seems that even some 8 gb memorymodules have problems.
Just thought you should know.

[q] spl 3.03.0000

Morning.
Is there a method to revert back to an old SPL from 3.03.0000 ?
I have searched and searched but to no avail yet. I have tried HSPL2 and 3. I have read that applying a old stock from from SD card does not work either.
The situation is that my HD2 has come back from warantee repair (overheating/reboot issue) and is running SPL 3.03 with their stock rom. This means that I cannot run a lightweight windows rom and therefore cannot properly run my favourite Android rom(s).
I have read a few people in the same boat so thought I would create a new thread as I couldn't find one yet.
Thank you so much.
Yans.
Hello!
I've had this problem too. You have to flash an ORIGINAL ROM from HTC homepage for your device. You will need the serial number (under the battery) of your HD2. Flash the Original Rom that you downloaded from HTC. After this you will have the old SPL version on your HD2.

I think theres no normal way (means u cant downgrade official roms, without hspl) of downgrading. U have to use hspl, if it capable of removing the 3.03 spl. If HSPL2-3 cant do that, u have to wait for the new hspl.
Correct me if im wrong.

Thank you everyone for your assistance. i am back on HSPL 2.08.
I already had the stock rom from HTC website because I put it on to send the phone back for repairs. I put this back on a moment ago and it put SPL 1.42 back on, PERFECT!
The only reason I didn't do this before (after reading other posts) is because when I did this initially (for sending the phone back) it didn’t touch the SPL but now I realise this was down to the fact it was running HSPL and not SPL.
So I have now incremented SPL 1.42 to HPSL 2.08 and running ChuchDroid for my lovely Android rom. Excellent.
Thank you all
Yans.
Go to your local HTC.com website,go to the support page, look for ROM upgrades for your device(HD2),if the old ROM is removed from the website you most probably wont be able to downgrade, now if you find there 2 ROM updates, say like 3.14.xxx and 166.XXX,chose the older version and enter your S/N if accepts its good to go
Hey guys. Im having this problem over at this thread: /showthread.php?t=814656
My problem is that Activesync does not detect my phone. So I can't downgrade.. But if I somehow get one of the official ROM's (say 1.48) and get the .nbh file onto the sd card, could that work?

yeeyyyyyyy thank you so much guys...with your help i could get back to 1.42. from 3.03 now im gonna look for some nice wm and android roms thank you so so much guys you made my day
Great to know.
My HD2 died with an unresponsive touchscreen, whilst having hspl 1.42 on.
I got the latest ROM off HTC with my serial, flashed with EXE but HSPL was not overwritten, so I thought that flashing through activesync didn't upgrade the SPL.
Hence I flashed latest rom via microSD and I got the SPL 3.03 there, sure that there was a HSPL for that too.
When I realized there wasn't, I was left with the nightmare of getting back from warranty a bloathed system I couldn't get back to operating conditions.
Now I discover that all it takes to downgrade SPL 3.03 is running the official exe for your device off an older ROM.
Nice.

[Q] Unable to flash any ROM without HSPL

Hi all
Apologies if this has been covered before but I cannot find anything thus far. I upgraded my HTC HD2 (Vodafone branded) from 1.72 to 3.1.4. As the device was branded I had to use HSPL (version 3) as Vodafone had no specific version, at that time, and thus used the generic HTC version as it was all that was available at that time. This seemed fine until I hit the, what I now know to be the memory issue, with this combination. At this point after trying a number of custom ROM's, I am using a Dutty Custom ROM (V12, COM2). I decided today, as I just discovered that Vodafone now have their own specific 3.1.4 ROM update available I would flash the 3.1.4 ROM, which I was able to download legitimately from the HTC web site, using my serial number.
I first flashed the stock ROM in the vain hope that the Vodafone had fixed the memory issue. They haven't and thus I decided to remove HSPL. I did this from the installation program and chose the 0000 option which removes HSPL. I then rather stupidly decided to run a task 29, which of course, failed at 0% and just hung totally. It did not time out after 10 minutes, at which point I had no option but to remove the battery and data cable. Fortunately the phone booted up and ran normally. I thus decided to re-flash with the legitimate Vodafone 3.1.4 ROM. as the memory issue still persisted. It failed at 0% just as with the task 29. I now cannot flash ANY Rom unless I install HSPL. I have only tried version 3 thus far.
Any ideas how I can get my phone loaded up with my genuine 3.1.4 Vodafone branded ROM without HSPL and thus avoid the memory issue and load genuine ROMS and updates please? For now I am back to using the Dutty V12, COM2 ROM. Any ideas most gratefully recieved and apologies if this has been covered before.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Paul Lemonidis.
Try flashing to HSPL 2 not 3, and read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Russ
Flash your vodafone stock ROM over SD.
And to be able to install custom ROM, use SSPL_RUU
phone into bootloader
connect usb
run hspl2
choose 1.66.0000
when phone restarts immediately re enter bootloader
run the voda 3.14 rom flash over usb
Thanks
I flashed from an SD Card and all was well. I can now reflash the same version, which I could not before, without HSPL. Thus for the moment I no longer need HSPL. Thus my warranty is valid again and I have a stable phone with the latest correct vendor ROM. I may try a custom ROM again at some point in the future if I experience problems but at least I can say I gave it a fair chance.
As a sideline, Swype works beautifully with this ROM.
Once again many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Paul Lemonidis.

Take the 1.72 ROM and use the flash from the SD Card method. This will get you back your memory.
The reason for the memory problems is a combination of 3.14 ROM and HSPL.

HD2 stuck in boot screen and won't respond to anything in bootloader

My friend got an hd2 from a friend but realised it could not boot. He then brought it to me to see whether I could sort it out for him since I manage to change my own Roms.
When I tried to boot it, got stuck at a custom boot screen with 'NRG ENERGIZE' on it. I couldn't put it off so I took out the battery, put it back and booted it into bootloader which displayed 'SPL-2.08.0000'. I tried task29, flash a new radio, flash HSPL, through USB but were all stuck at 0%.
Can someone please help with a step by step way to solve this problem?
Thanks a million.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
with that spl you wouldn't be able to task29 or flash radio, since 2.08.0000 is a stock tmous spl and they both require hspl ((.0000 at teh end tells you its stock not hspl)) (have you got a tmous or a regular hd2?)
So, concentrate on spl/hspl.
Assuming regular hd2
id tart by...
into bootloader, connect usb. when 'serial' becomes 'usb' continue..
run hspl2 (not 3 or 4) and see if you can change the spl with it,
go for ...
2.08.hspl if you are aiming for android,
1.66.0000 if you intend flashing back to a known correct stock rom from sd card (good for taking the phone all the way back to stock)
or
3.03.hspl (using hspl4.exe in place of hspl2.exe) if you want to flash a 3.14 rom that isn't specific to that phone. (example, unbranded 3.14 rom onto a carrier branded phone) using usb.
let us know if you can change the spl with hspl.exe, and also confirm the pc is seeing it as a htc device when it installs drivers. (plug it into a few different usb ports to be sure it is using fresh drivers)
Thanks Samsamuel. Its a tmous. Am going to try and get back to you.
Nice 1

ok well in that case you cannot go below spl 2.08 then, and you can use hspl3 and hspl4 only. PLus you MUST NOT use any non tmous stock roms.
My advice would be forget hspl for a moment, get the 3.14 tmous rom and flash it from sd. (Again be sure you get only tmous stock roms, go through the t-mobile website, i think it links through to the correct htc page.)
Ok thanks. Will try it and let you know what happens.

try returning back to stock via microSD and stock rom...
it will be fully stock as new...
I have to flash the tmous stock rom via sd card and it tells me 'no allowed'. Tried via USB too but doesn't go past 0%
I don't know what to do now.

When it powers on once, I have to take out the battery for some time before it can boot again

hmm, just to confirm,
tmous phone,(green send button)
tmous stock rom (you're sure its a tmous rom, not a t mobile rom for the regular hd2? example RUU_Leo_TMO_DE_1.72...... which isn't a tmous rom)
you're extracting ruu_signed, renaming to leoimg and copying to an sd card 4gb or smaller, formatted fat32, into phone, , start phone, into bootloader which shows for a second then screen flashes white as it detects the .nbh file...and then.......?
I put the phone in a freezer for10 minutes and took it back out. Then it booted all the way.
Please What is the solution?

ah i thought about that earlier. Its (well, general opinion is) hardware dying the heat death. Pretty much terminal. Though for me, id have to try doing the full flash back to stock, same as you did, freezer for twenty mins, (its called 'the freezer trick', lol stock rom on sd ready to flash, because it MIGHT be a software glitch, bad flash, something, causing extra load on the circuits, increasing the heat, and a stock flash may fix that, however i recon its the end of the line for that phone.
