Hi all:
Does anyone have any suggestions for good screen protectors for the Tilt2 off of Ebay?
I know there are a number of name brand ones which are good, but I have an Ebay gift certificate, so I'd like to buy from there if possible. I can't seem to find any of the good name brand ones on ebay, so I was hoping someone may have tried one of the ones that are available on there.
Suggestions would really be appreciated.
Thanks!
PS: I am currently using the one that came with the phone, and I was happy with its quality, but it has gotten quite scratched up, quickly, so I need to replace it.

Extremely easy to apply, barely any bubbles/air pockets to be seen. My screen looks like it doesn't even have one on.
Or you could try this link. I ordered mine, but I didn't received them yet so I don't have pictures to upload, but they look sharp

I've always ordered screen protectors from Clarivue. The one I put on my Palm TX 4 years ago is still on it. They're durable.
As to ebay, the seller I've always used for clarivues is JHongs. They currently don't have protectors for the Tilt 2 listed, but the last time I asked them to list one they didn't have up, they happily did so.
Just message them, give them the link to the Tilt 2 clarivue (linked above), tell them you're ready to buy, you heard they would list it for you, and I'll betcha in 48 hrs your new screen protector will be on the way.
I bought ebay item #250541670275. It only cost $2.98, it shipped from California, and I had it within a week. They fit the tilt 2 VERY nicely, and I can't tell there's anything on the screen. Buy it!
Thanks so much to everyone who replied!
I will definitely be ordering one of the ones suggested in this thread.
Thanks again!!

I wouldn't call it bad, but in terms of durability it's lacking compared to clarivue or boxwave or some other name brands.
im To late
but your best bet would have been zagg. most of those cheap plasic one's only hold up for about 3 month or so. zagg hold up until u decide to take it off.
www.zaggs.com that the main site and there should be some on ebay also. i kno that you have a gift card.

Don't get this if you have a Tilt2. Just thought i'd give you a heads-up (it'sthe T-Mobile version).
If you still haven't purchased any scrren protector, you must have a look at this, although it's not on ebay it's very cheap and offers full body protection.

If it's not cheap enough use 20% discount cupone PPCSG20
I have excellent experience ordering from Amazon and HIGHLY recommending this seller - Eforcity. (I've ordered 3 protectors for my CDMA and got 8 in the package - someone was pissed to my bennefit )
Anyone using the anti-glare protector? Does it really reduce fingerprints like they are saying?

They say "scratch proof", but 3 of mine scratched.
Also, those "invisible shield" ones leave weird residue that does go away after a while, but it gets annoying.
After trying 3 types of screen protectors, I would HIGHLY suggest the regular scratch proof ones. They really work and the bubbles went away after a night of having it on.

Generally an anti-glare protector has a matte finish and generally the crystal clear ones are glossy. That's the distinction that matters in regards to fingerprints -- any glossy surface is going to be print-astic and hold on to finger oils with the jaws of life.
I have a clarivue anti-glare, and it is definitely more resistant to prints than the stock HTC protector was. But it's not magic, or even oleophobic, it's just an ordinary matte surface.
I also recommend a decent brand like boxwave or clarivue above some no-name protector if you want to be sure it's going to be durable. I used the same clarivue for 4 years on my palm TX and it was in a 100x better shape than the stock HTC protector was after a couple of weeks.
Hey guys,
Hello fellow XDA Rhodium members, I would like to hear your reviews for which is the best screen protector, in your opinon, for a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium).
Thanks to you from Kenichi.
Take a look at GadgetShieldz
GadgetShieldz is relatively cheap and does the job.

I was just wondereing what brand of Screen Protectors you would recommend. I been looking at the one at Zagg.com but I don't know if I should spend 25 dollars just for back protector and front protector? Although there is a 15 dollar just for front cover.
Thanks you from Kenichi.

Best skins ever. Exact same thing at 1/2 the price.
Only problem with the Zagg/BSE is that the skin is rubbery and makes sliding your finger across the touch screen a little harder. I still use them because they are the toughest strongest protectors. Plus the rubberyness gives it a bit more texture to keep it from slipping out of your hand.
Hey thanks guys for your help, I'm having a hard time deciding. I hate the screen protector that came with the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 its just too easy to scratch.
Thanks for your opinons. Kenichi.
Clarivue is my favorite for screen protection. Smooth and ULTRA clear. Those full body rubbery protectors are not as optically clear or smooth. If you want full body and clarity I would suggest these with your favorite brand for the back.

Great question! Sure glad you started this tread because noone has ever asked this before.
I've personally only used ZAGG shields and so far have not been disappointed with both of the protectors i've used. I do wish that it came with the side protection like the gadget shield. In terms of quality I cannot speak enough for ZAGG's shield, it absolutely rocks. I can unfortunately say i've dropped this phone way too many times and the screen/battery cover look flawless.
The touch screen w/ the shield took a couple tries to get use to but now I experience very few problems (sometimes I do not put enough pressure in my swipe, so it registers as a touch).

great thread, have always wanted to know reviews for screen protectors.
Hey guys,
I just wanted to tell you guys I just got my Zagg sheild and installed on my Phone... Bleh! It turned out bad I dislike the grippyness on the screen, but all is well. Good thing they give me a life time warranty, It seems that the screen protector was damaged as it went my way. I do admit that the screen protector is TOUGH, so much better than the original t-mobile screen protector.

Best Skins Ever is the company name. Exact same material as Zagg without the fancy packaging.
http://www.bestskinsever.com/
i have a phantomskinz screen protector and just ordered the full body kit...i like it better than zagg, its slicker for finger friendliness..but not as thick
phantomskinz.com
Phantomskinz.... took couple times cause I strive for perfection and saw a piece of dust under it. Cheap.... use code summer33 or winter33 can not remember and get 2 of them to your door for under $7!!. Got one on my TP2 and my wifes Pre... can not even tell they are there.
Have you search pdair.com?
The price of protector just cost around 10-12 dollars
Martin Fields were always extremely good to me in the past, but the high price and long-distance shipping has turned me away from them for a few years. Their stuff was clear and never scratched while carried in my pocket without cases.
I’ve now gone to ppctechs stuff since they are local and will install. Nice folks and their stuff works real well. But it’s a hard protector, so if you bend it or if you don’t get it on exactly, it’ll always look a little bubbled up (creased might be a better word)
I had a Zagg or two and those were gross. The surface is soft so dragging your finger was not smooth, and using a fingernail or stylus will stick to the screen. Never again…
I'm using for several years Brando Ultra Clear and Brando Anti Glare. Expensive but sturdy, one of the best.
For the TP2 I'm using the Ultra Clear (best color representation, no loss)
For frequent navigation (eg TomTom, iGo, etc) the Anti Glare SP is better.
Refer for more information to Brando Workshop Hongkong. Dilevery all over the world.

Does Phatomskinz have protection for the sides as well for the TMO TP2? I'm curious as to which full body casing is the besm.
Hi guys, I'm new to Android OS and to Samsung phones, so welcome me! I came from using BlackBerry for years. Never tried iOS, nor owned an iPhone, so I hope I made the right choice.
So there's a scratch already on my phone. I can't tell whether it's on the screen protector or the screen itself... I'm debating whether I should peel the protector off and take a look (obviously losing it in the process).
How do I tell? I'm very obsessed about my new Note, so it's hard for me to not notice.
The screen protector was put on since day 1. The CSR from Future Shop (Best Buy owned in Canada), put it on for me and I sure hope he didn't scratch the screen while applying the cleaning solution, wiping it, etc. before putting on the screen protector (I was watching him do it)... The screen on the Note doesn't scratch easily does it?
im sure its only on the screen protector but that would make me weary of how well it protects. I replaced my screen protector and switched to a sgp protector cause on my original protector the s-pen scratched it....since I switched to sgp I have used the crap out of the s-pen and it hasnt scratched these yet

Thanks for fast reply. What is this SGP protector? I'm going to look into that.
It's a good thing I didn't pay for this ZAGG protector... It was $19.99 lol, they gave it to for free so I'm not so upset about it (as long as it isn't on the ACTUAL screen). I can actually register the product and ask for a replacement (since it's lifetime guarantee), but will cost me $3.99 for shipping.
sgp steinheil screen protectors. These are the only ones I use. they last for ever
here these are fantastic imo

so how did you scratch your screen protector?... with s-pen or something in your pocket with your note?

That's what I've been wondering myself... I'm not sure where the scratch came from because I barely used the S-pen, and the scratch is half an inch long (noticed it on white background).
Anyway, that's what made me to believe that the scratch could be on the screen itself since there is also a little dust particle that I can see under.
Over time, my Zagg looked like it had many scratches and I could not discern whether it was on the screen or Zagg. Eventually, I removed it out of annoyance with the orange peel and tackiness. The Zagg did it's job. I liked other wet protectors more because they felt more like glass and didn't have the orange peel. I'm using a dry SGP now, it's very nice. I'd recommend the SGP over the Zagg any day of the week.

This is another gripe I have about my screen protector... The orange peel feeling and the fact that the S-Pen is HORRIBLE with it. Anyway, I don't use the pen much so it's fine.
I do like it since it hides fingerprints well. I guess I do have to try SGP.. Wet and dry protectors? I'm assuming dry is just the usual adhesive style, while wet is the ZAGG where you have to use the liquid solution?
Here is what my SGP looks like and I have used the s pen alot

Another thing... the Zagg protector doesn't cover the top right side of the phone as well.
While I did not choose a zagg to put on my gnote, I have used them in the past and they can take some serious abuse! Unless you really smacked, it I doubt the scratch went through.
I went with a sgp since it is clearer and for the s-pen. I wanted the s-pen to have as close to a stock screen as possible and the sgp does that very well.

My concern is if the scratch got onto the screen before the protector is on. Anyway, I'm probably just overreacting. I couldn't remember how the scratch got onto the screen protector, so I was thinking it was under it

I've used Invisibleshield (Zagg nowadays) protectors for years now on 5 or 6 different devices. Never managed to scratch it. If you scratched the protector, you'd know it. It would have either had to have been something as sharp as a knife, or have taken a pretty good hit.
But, if you see dirt or dust behind it, then the install area wasn't very clean. So, is it possible that the "scratch" you are seeing could be some debris between the protector and the screen (like maybe a hair)?

If it was hair, wouldn't it just show a black line? The "scratch" is distorting the color (more pronounced in white background).

Hey, hope you read this and share if you eventually found out if the scratch was on the protector or underneath after several months.
I have the same exact problem as you, I am seeing some scratch color distortion in white background. Hopefully the scratch is on the protector, not the screen. Problem is I have no way to know since I didn't install the protector myself, unless of course I remove it which I don't want to do right now.
You can always replace it through zagg.com for only the cost of shipping the old one back and the new one to you. To the USA is 3.99 I believe.

Also I just want to know if the OP did find out after 7 months that the scratch was on the protector or underneath, given we share the same symptoms.

Hey Guys,
New ATT LTE Note owner here coming from an iPhone that i've used for 4+ years. Anyhow, does anyone have any good recommendations on screen protectors? I've been reading the other threads, but they just dont give me enough info. I ordered the SGP Ultra Oleophobic screen protector, wondering what it looks like and if anyone can post pics of theirs? That would be awesome. Also does anyone know where I can get a replacement back housing that is leathery like the Blackberry Bold 9000?
A screen protector is a screen protector. Doesn't matter about what device you put it on. So, just search for screen protector and you will get your answer. Another thread is not necessary. Also, the Note has Gorilla Glass and you really don't need a screen protector. I understand this is personal preference, though.

You do need it if you are going to be around sand which will easily scratch the screen if you get one speck on your finger.
It has happened before and will happen again.
To protect investment I highly advice to get a screen protector put on the screen. There's been few threads talking about their Note has been scratched. SGP is a good brand, one of the members here suggested it and I replaced my Zagg screen with it, it feels more natural than Zagg, although I still think Zagg is more durable.
As for leathery back cover, no idea. Seidio is coming out w/ their own set of protective case. Their product has never failed me. Great protection.
OK, I'm not one to often recommended $35 screen protectors, but this is the first time I've been able to bear any sp for more than a day. I did get 2 tiny specs under it that are noticeable with the screen off in bright light, but I can't even tell an sp is on when I'm using it.

Why this? Jeez
i got the zagg screen protector from best buy with my reward card for 6 bucks. It is the one with the wet install. Surprisingly the install was quite easy and painless. I was thoroughly impressed. It is not like a one shot deal when you install it. You can move the screen protector around until it is right. Just spray more water whenever it is needed. ( and no I dont work for Zagg..lol)
Zagg is the worst screen protector, ever, period.
It sucks even more with our S-Pen since Zagg has a "rubbery" feeling or texture on it. Since the whole point of the screen protector is to protect the screen from being scratched and mimic the feeling of the bare glass, your best bet is the regular thin plastic screen protectors. That is, unless, you are willing to get the glass screen protectors.
But then if you like it then that's all that matters.

Gorilla Glass is Scratch Resistant, NOT Scratch Proof, Scratch Proof glass does NOT exist. Even if it GG was as tough as diamonds, the protectors provide some extra protection for your screen in the case of drops, bumps, etc. Me, I don't want to take any chances.

+1, but he is technically right that you don't NEED one. It seems like the odds are in favor of no scratches or minimal scratches. I live in Florida and there's a lot of sand. I'd rather take a knife to my GG than sand... I always use a screen protector.
SGP all the way get the ultra crystal.

i ordered a screen protector x 5 for just under 5 bucks from eBay. I replace every 6 months.
Sadly there is no sand where I live. (I am jealous of you who have sand!) And, I can understand that a sandy environment is a good reason to protect the device more.
The reason I chimed in was to protest yet another thread about "what screen protector is the best". Then I added my opinion.
I agree that SGP are very good.
SGP Glass
The SGP glass screen protector is the best I used two others and the s-pen left marks all over them the SGP Glass was a bit pricey but well worth it looks perfect clear as glass and hard so s-pen will not mark it up I will never go back to a film form now on i'll use an SGP glass protector on all my phones
I have been giving RainX alternative called Ultimate X a try since I bought it from Walmart a few months ago, but it doesn't seem to effectively repel fingerprints. On oleophobic coated screens, fingerprints smudges show lightly, but after removing ASF and applying Ultimate X, there is small improvement, but now fingerprints are really really dark and thick, and looks really disgusting. It looks like some thick sticky sauce got smudged on there or something. It's not very easy to wipe off completely, but after some tries, it is wipable.
Is this normal for RainX? I know that RainX is a water repellent, and NOT oil repellent, but why are people saying it works wonders on phone screens? It doesn't on mine. After 30 minutes of use, my XZU screen looks so disgusting and smudges are SO thick and dark.
I know there are screen protectors out there, but I'm afraid a case I will buy won't fit due to the thicker glass protector. I tried Anti-glare, but couldn't stand the graininess. Took it off, and my god, the screen looks amazing again!
I am planning to try Whoosh Screen Shine product tomorrow. They sell it at a a store close to home, so I'm gonna buy one and try. Shipping is about 5 bucks extra so no point of buying online. I will let you guys know how Whoosh works.
Any input you guys have, please leave it below. Thanks.
The problem isnt rainx or whatever. The real issue is the glass panel. It has a rough surface. This is to help the plastic asf to bond to the glass.
The glass panel really need to be buffed with a soft wheel for a while to get that crystal shininess. With a sponge and loose cotton wheel.
And after that you can apply some sort of clear coat like rainx or what you prefer. It will make a huge difference.
Really? I didnt know that! Thanks for letting me know. I'm not really knowledgeable in this buffing thing cause ive never heard of it before i read about applying rainx. Do you mind giving me steps on how i can do it perfectly on my XZU? Also, are there alternative material i can use instead of buffing wheel? Like stuff you can find commonly at home. Thanks, so much.

No no. This is not a thing you will do if you are not experienced with the whole process of things like painting, buffing and working with glass as in this case.
If you know someone who are experienced with these kind of things or even better. Who perhaps works in an Automobile paint shop you can ask if they are willing to take an hour or two to do your phone.
Back and front.

Oh..I see. Ah.. im pretty disappointed. I just ordered a case but Im not sure if a glass screen protector with oleophobic coating would fit.
Do you know any other solution to reduce fingerprints? Will oleophobic coating work on this glass with no asf film? I'm not sure uf Whoosh would work now that you told me this info. I'm now hesitant to spend money on Whoosh. Not sure if they accept retuRNs if I spray and use it to try it.

It makes the phone more rigid because this phone is easy to bend so this is a good thing . And it adds a bit of weight as well

Thanks for the suggestion. I already bought this case

And I think glass screen protector is too thick for my phone to fit in this case. I like the feel of metal way more than glass or this back panel with asf film, so I'm trying this case.
I have a good news though. I actually bought Whoosh! yesterday and tried it out. Its works so much better than the rainx alternative UltimateX I had. Sure there are still some fingerprints but its definitely reduced. Not too mention my screen is almost germ free now, and the product is completely natural. I really like it. Anyone reading this should try it too. Its pretty cheap.

Ah. I used to use cases before but I always ended up removing them all the time. Nowadays I only use powercases. I got two 5000mAh cases. Perfect to run in a cycle. One charging and other one is in use and when I get home I switch to the other one recharged and so on
