I got it up and running. Installation is pretty simple but could the app could use some tweaking to get it running a bit smoother on our Vibrants. Here's the app minus some tweaking by LG apparently.

Great post man. It's nice to have a decent..scratch that, have any video editing app on the Vibrant

your battery would probably die half way through a 10 second rendering... I'm sure they limited it for a reason.
But yeah, the apk would have to be modified for that... since the source isn't available, it'd be really tough/impossible to change it.
I'm sure the Vibrant has enough power to edit HD video if the iPhone can do it, nice find btw!

It force closes on my 720p movies. I'm sure that our phones can edit HD video, we just need an editor optimized for our GPU.

Added screenshots. Not sure why there's some artifacts in the 2nd screenshot, they don't exist in the app.
nice, i'm gonna have to give this a whirl
This is great, exactly what I wanted.... But there is an issue that is preventing me from using it.... Once its open it closes after 30 seconds maybe 1 minute... Not force close just closes while trying to use it...

It's in the attached zip file.
So I did everything in Terminal, but when I start video editor now it gets stuck on startup with just a black screen then I get a fc.

The more I use it, the more stable it is becoming.
I think the app needed to build thumbnails of my media and was crashing while doing so. Now that all the thumbnails are created, it seems mostly content.
I was able to stitch together 5 clips and save as a single video. Pretty cool!

Try it at your own risk. The instructions should be exactly the same.
EDIT: I guess I was out of space on my /system folder! I deleted several bloated apps and then was able to copy the folder using Super Manager. Thanks!
ORIGINAL:
I've tried and tried to copy the 3rd_party folder to my /system folder using both the ADB instructions above and also trying with Terminal Emulator, but all I get is "No space on device" errors. I have root and busybox. I've tried to remount /system as rw, but that fails as well.
What else can I try to check that the /system folder has space available to copy this folder?
Wow.. It works so great!

But now it could be the one I just wished.
Thanks so sososososososo much!

So my Trigger thread has been hijacked by Avatar lovers. However, some good did come out of it and I think I've figured out the fix thanks to Raymond & Rory. Or I combined their fixes LOL
Here's what I did:
Clear DRM Protected Content Storage cache
Clear Video Player cache
Reboot
Try and play the movie through Video player, press Unlock
Reboot
At this point you should be able to play the movie through Video player
Place attached Avatar.apk in /system/app
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Now I am able to play my avatar movie. Note: it's located on my external SD card

I just flashed Trigger last night and got Avatar playing very easily this time. I restored the icon from my files but tapping it would not play the movie. Using Video Player resulted in "Sorry this movie cannot be played".
What I did: I deleted the icon and restored it with Bloater. Then I did menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all tab> scrolled down to Drm Protected Content Storage, DrmProtectedLauncher, and Video Player. I tapped each one and then deleted cache or data for each. Now trying to play Avatar with the Video Player resulted in the message "This content is locked, do you want to unlock it now?" I checked yes and backed out. The movie still would not play so I rebooted. After the SD scanning finished, I tapped the Avatar icon and it played!

I kinda started this mess. I may have forgotten a last step but I can't remember. I may have restored data for the Video player with Titanium after deleting the cache. My thinking was the flash caused it not to play for some reason, so I deleted the cache. Then I believe I did a Titanium restore of the data because it played before I flashed and restoring that data should help. I did it late at night and went to bed before posting. I'm sure about the part I did in the paragraph above, it's what I'm telling you now that's fuzzy. Sorry I'm such an airhead right now, but I did get mine working fine.

I put the movie there, was deleted before, but it says not found. Plays fine in video player, guess thats all i need, but now I just want it to work right.
Also, if you guys haven't tried trigger 2.7, you should download it. This has to be the final, it can't get any better than this.

I got the same thing. Honestly I think it's just luck whether it acquires the licences or not.
I have no idea whether it will work with 2.2.1. I'll do some testing in the coming weeks though
would this work if i moved the movie file over to the internal sd card? I upgraded to an 8gb external card from a previous phone. It used to work fine before on the internal card, but like previously mentioned, when flashed a rom, it doesn't work. It worked with bionix 1.2.1 though. Idk guess ill keep trying.
Just as an FYI...
Flashed Trigger 2.7 and the FIRST thing I did after waiting 15 minutes and rebooting was to open Files, navigate to the Avatar.dcf file (the actual movie, not the icon or through Video Player) and run the file. The movie opened immediately and began to play without any problem. Then I restored everything, installed the launcher icon (in my post or in Birg's), rebooted.... It now works fine. Hope this can help....

Think about it logically. What I had was a fresh install that wouldn't play the movie. I never do system data backups with Titanium, so that wasn't a factor. So, I deleted the cache/data (whatever was there) for both DRM processes and for the Video player. Then, I restored the system data only (for all three processes) from my last Rom install which was Bionix V 1.2.1 where it was working fine. Once it asked if I wanted to unlock the movie, I choose yes then rebooted when it wouldn't play. Makes sense to me!
Alright, it needs no introduction,
Preview incase you need one
Credits go to azrienoch and xdadevelopers for the concept.
Took me a lot of time to get a proper combination to work out file sizes and quality.
I have added Standard Quality and High Quality zips.
You need to have 41MB and 64MB free space in system/media for SQ and HQ respectively.
It includes the sound and it goes off as soon as the phone is ready to boot.
The Animation stops as soon as your phone is booted (when it starts preparing The SD if i noticed correctly) so do not worry, this will just keep you entertained until the phone is ready
It is for Tenfar's cwm recovery on unlocked Moto Atrix 4G.
It has been tested on my phone.
atrix_bootanimation_xdanoobHQ_cwm Low to Moderate Pixellation noticeable
atrix_bootanimation_xdanoobSQ_cwm Moderate to High Pixellation noticeable
FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE (Skip to the end for file)
1. Unpack the zip and get bootanimation.zip from /system/media/ and xdanoobmono.mp3 from system/media/audio/notifications/
2. Unzip bootanimation.zip and you will get a folder part0 which contains all .jpg
3. Time your boot time with current bootanimation or even without any..(from just after dual core tech logo till you see home screen)
4.check that much time on the youTube video.. and delete frames beyond a few seconds after that.. (if it takes you 30sec to boot then check wat frame does video show at 32-35sec...)
5. After deleting excess .jps from part0, select part0 folder and desc.txt. Add them to a zip with compression = Store (without any compression)
Note:- Common mistake is to zip the folder that contains these 2 items.
6. Copy this bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ and xdanoobmono.mp3 to system/media/audio/notifications/ on your Moto Atrix 4G
7. Fix Permissions (manually or via cwm recovery > advanced > Fix Permissions)

HQ Stripped version for members with space constraint...
atrix_bootanimation_xdanoobHQSTripped_cwm
This has been stripped to ~0:50 with respect to video timeline... Most people will be booted to home much before that.
OR follow above process to get any lower size.
This method can also be used by those who do not have any space issues..
It basically gives you the animation only uptil you require it and the excess is stripped off..!!

If you go too high you will induce clipping, so be careful, or you could get crappy audio, and/or damage speakers with it.

I like the green theme...
Have not encountered any bugs as of yet.
even with 6MB more you should be able to use the SQ version.
Try to delete unnecessary apks from system apps..
Alien is without any bloat by default.
EDIT:
unpack and delete jpegs beyond 00700.jpg
will save you 30+MB
The boot process on mine is not exceeding 600.jpg.
OR, time your boot time (just after dual core tech logo till you see home screen)
check that much time n the youTube video.. and delete frames beyond a few seconds after that..
shall give you best and most efficient
I'm sure you know how to pack it back and sign
For others, you can follow the same process and just replace bootanimation.zip and add sound to system/media/audio/notification.
Do not forget to fix permission either manually or via cwm.
Adding these instruction to the OP for all
EDIT2:
Added Stripped HQ version - 33.5MB

Well, you could always get the .apk from the International and install it on the ATT Note once it's rooted since it'll have to be installed in the system/app folder.

They are similar but not the same. The AT&T version doesn't have all the features as the international such as dragging appt times around to new places or scheduling a meeting from s memo.

Thanks. I just picked up my Note from BestBuy and I think you're right... I cannot get the Calendar to use the date/time in the S-Note memo to set the new event date/time; it just includes the note in the "Memos" field for the event. The date/time you have to set manually.
However I can move events around (in the week or 3 day view) by just press/hold and slide it to a new time.
If you look under /system/app you will see that we have the splanner.apk so I am thinking that the calendar app is just a modified splanner app
Attached are the apk/odex from the Telus version
I'm not 100% sure what the difference is, but on the Telus version of this phone it is called as on the 'international'. I have attached the apk/odex files from /system/app. Feel free to try.

Yes. Move them to your /system/app folder. First you have to rename to ones already in there. Best to just add .bak to the end to maintain their existence. Double check permissions (rw-r--r--). Once you've done all that, reboot your device and they should install automatically like any other system app.
Let us know how it goes.
move them to /system/app, make sure they are 644 permissions (read by all). then reboot.
I have both models and they seems the same to me. When I put my google account in an synced the calendar looks just like the s planner. I also checked to make sure I could convert hand written s memos to the calendar and it works fine.
You know, now that I'm re-watching the YouTube video, they make it a little deceiving. The video makes it look like it recognizes your text and programs the calendar entry based on your keywords i.e. you enter dinner tomorrow at 9 pm and it schedules a meeting the next day at 9 pm with the title dinner. However, re-watching the video, it doesn't actually schedule her meeting correctly she just shoots past it so you can't see that it's not.

Yeah, maybe I was expecting too much, or confused with the Calendar quick add feature. On the AT&T Note Calender quick add will convert plain language to the proper event date and time, but from S Note it doesn't. It does a decent job of recognizing the handwritten note but only places that info in the memo section of the new Calendar event. Maybe that's all the internatiinal S Planner can do as well.

Ok I am going to be really stupid here. I haven't done anything to my phones since my HTC a few years back. I just got this ATT Note and am trying to install the files that were given in this thread.
You say to move them to system/app. Here is my questions. How do I get there? I went through just plain old Windows Explorer and that doesn't seem to be right. Is there a program that I need to download to put these files in to where they are needed, or an I just not getting it at all (which could be possible).

You have to be rooted in order to move a system file. And you would have to be running a file explorer such as ES file explorer with the system mounted as read/write.
If you are rooted, then go into options in ES and put a check next to root explorer and mount system. Make sure you say yes to superuser request. I like to change the home directory from /sdcard/ to just /
That should start you in the true file system and not in the SD card.

So I would move the files from my PC to somewhere on the SD card and then use this Ghost Commander to move them to where I need to in the root directory.
Am I getting that right?

Search doesn't work too well. Especially the app. When you open es, press the menu capacitive button, go to settings aand choose root explorer. Press yes for superuser prompt when it comes up. Then select mount system as writable. Also, change home directory to just "/" instead of "/sdcard/". Then you should be able to see everything. Go to the sdcard where the files are... long press on each file and choose copy. Then go back until you see the folder titled "system". Go into that folder then into the "app" folder. At the bottom of your screen there should be an arrow with a box around it. Press that and touch the files. That will copy them to the folder. You should get a confirmation that they copied successfully.
Don't worry about asking too many questions. That is the purpose of a forum, to discus and to learn. Though it could be argued that many people have forgotten that. Ill try to post up some pics as it goes through....

Don't worry about it. As I said before, that's what we are here for. It would appear that based on the response from es explorer, you aren't rooted...

I've installed copilot on my asus prime and when i visit the gallery to view my pics it also shows pics from the copilot directory. Is there a way to remove this directory from the gallery, without actually deleting the pictures from the AP?
Thanks

Get the app called quickpic. It'll allow you to hide that folder from the gallery. Works great.

just downloaded it and works a treat...thanks..
Yup, QuickPic is the way!
It's included in the ROM I use on my phone
Never any issues, tons of options, and no lag!
Why didn't you simply create a blank file and name it .Nomedia
Put that file in the directory where you don't want to see the graphics and job done... they no longer show up in gallery.

Simply because there are apps that do it for you! I use Gallery Exclude myself.

Sorry Dave but I just don't get it! Why hog your system with an additional App that may take resources, battery etc. when you can do this quite easily by simply creating an empty file.

It doesn't hog resources or battery any more than the manual method - arguably, it probably use less battery because it is going to perform this action quicker than most people could probably perform the same action manually - after all, to create the file, you'll have had to run an application of some sort!
Using Gallery Excluder, I can exclude multiple directories simply by checking a box - as opposed to manually cut and pasting a file into each directory, which would take substantially longer if I have a lot of directories I want to exclude from the gallery.
It is quicker and easier to use an app, which is why I use one, and why I bought a smartphone in the first place!

Dave

No Problem Dave.... you have your method which I respect as it clearly works great for you and I have mine which equally is my chosen method.
Cutting & Pasting may take a little longer than simply ticking boxes in an App but it didn't take me that long to complete something like 8 folders that required excluding and once they're done that is it, I do not have to concern myself with intervention of an app running/updating/etc.
I just noticed that my thumbnails folder is increasing exponentially in size and I've not added any new files. I deleted the folder yesterday and now it's again around 500 mb eating internal memory.
I'm on jelly bean official btu Rom. Everything stock except rooted. Any ideas clues?

For some more information that my phone will start manufacturing TONS of files inside a hidden folder called ".thumbnails" whenever I plug it into the charger while powered on. As I type this, there are currently 765MB worth of thumbnail files accumulated from every video file on my phone. And the longer I leave it, the larger it gets. This has happened over the last 3 hours. I can delete them, but it will start all over again unless I either unplug the charger or turn off the phone. It also appears to SIGNIFICANTLY slow down my phone's ability to charge. This is very odd.
Has anybody else experienced this? or check this folder (you can check by settings ->storage-> miscellaneous files -> .thumbnails (folder size)? alternately you can use root explorer to find this folder & see the content of this foder.
any body?????
Not exactly a solution, but more of a hack:
If your phone is rooted AND you have BusyBox AND a shell application (Terminal Emulator), you can make the thumbnails folder readonly:
Open the Terminal Emulator and issue the following commands (one per line, hitting ENTER after each one)
su
rm -fr /sdcard/.thumbnails/*
chmod -R 444 /sdcard/.thumbnails
These 2 commands will not only clean your thumbnails folder but also make it ReadOnly to everyone.
Use at your own risk! Keep in mind that I have no idea what consequences might arise from these, and if doing so will speed up your device. There are chances that the app trying to write to .thumbnails will raise several ANRs in a row. Honestly, I have no idea what can happen.

Thanks for the reply. Yes my phone is rooted. I can delete the thumbnails folder through root explorer. But it keeps coming back. This seems like a major bug in jelly bean. Seems strange that most of the people has not noticed this. There should be some sort of auto garage cleaner by Google for this mess.

Since nobody could help make. And this seems to be the biggest bug present in each jelly bean rom and strangest thing is nobody seems to notice this. Just check for thumbnails folder after charging each day and it will explode in size by creating tens of thumbnails of the same file.
So i tried each and every possible solution. And I think I have found the solution by disabling stock gallery and stock video player. I'm now using quickpic for photos and mxplayer as a video player. Seems like the bug is gone. What the hell.... Samsung should have fixed this bug. ... it eats internal memory like anything. ...

I cannot help but I confirm that I have the same problem. Didn't you try to install a modifiied gallery application at the time the one coming with CM10 was bugged and was missing the connection with picasa/google+ account?
On my side, I keep deleting it regularly at each "Clean Master" cleanup though I know this is not a real solution.
