I'm a pilot and I use flight mode a lot. I've noticed that when in Flight Mode on the lock screen, in the upper right hand corner under the status bar it says. . . "Searching".
My question (s): Is the phone indeed still searching for a signal? If not what is it searching for? Or is this just a software glitch?
Its a software glitch, The last month i traveled and the phone does the same yo me
Anyone knows how to re-installed GOGO app on the vibrant. My phone is rooted and lagfix installed. But now when I open GOGO it open up the web and gives me an error message "... invalid device ". other than this, the phone works flawless. However, I travel occasionally, I like to have this feature works. Thanks.

Hi everybody,
i'm using my phone as gps navigation system in car and further im using it, while it's connected over bluetooth, to receive and do phone calls. Everything works fine. The only thing that bothers me is, that every time i get a call the phone window pops up over the navigation software and remains visible as long as im using the phone. Does anybody know a trick/software to prevent poping up that phone window while a special bluetooth connection is established?
I don't need the phone window, because the board computer of my shows all necessary informations about the phone(call).
Thanks for any help.
Chris
I have just tried to disable half the bloat wear on my galaxy s, and i must have frozen something that i shouldn't have and now my screen isnt working properly. I have the top status bar with the service bars and the battery meter and when the phones screen lock is on it all looks normal but when i unlock the phione the whole screen goes black and only the status bar is able to be seen. I cant access the menu or any apps at all. I have tried to get into download mode to add different firmware but i cant get into download mode or recovery mode in any of the ways that i have researched. I can still recieve emails and texts and voicemail but i cant reply as i keep getting this error every time i try to do anything: Andriod.Process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Does anybody have any idea how i might be able to fix this problem. I have tried to connect to andriod explorer but it wont recognize my phone the same thing with Kies. If anybody has any ideas as to how i might be able to fix this that would be greatly appreciated.
Is there no reboot button holding sequence that will enable you to enter recovery?
Swyped from HTC Desire S using XDA Premium
I was able to get into recovery mode a couple of times yesterday but now i cant seem to get into recovery for some reason. i have tried all to combos that i can around but cant seem to get into recovery mode at all my phone just keeps turning itself of instead. I could just be doing it work but i have no idea anymore.
I just had the phone on my desk in my room, and sometimes the yellow triangle shows up and says, "no network connection is avaible".
Usually it finds the network again but now sometimes it don't find it, and when i search for networks the phone never finds any and after a while of searching it just powers off.
Can someone please help me?

I've seen this a couple of times myself.
What I did to solve it (didn't happen too often) was: go into and back out of airplane mode. That allowed me to reconnect to the network every time.
However, if you have this often and it's not related to a bad network coverage in that location, I'd contact SE for support...

I would say, begin with checking that you're running on the latest software. You can use PC Companion to both check for updates and to install them.
Also check if this happens if you insert another SIM card in your phone.
Let me know how it goes.
hi everyone,
I recently upgraded to 4.3 and finding it very annoying about two notifications as explained below.
Whenever I disable the flight mode or mobile data, a message keeps popping up which is very annoying on my day to day activities.
Please refer to attached screen shots.
Why don't they have a tick box to say something like "Do not show again" or so ....
is there any solution to get rid of this?
Thanks and cheers to all ....
Couldn't agree more! I can't stand this! Why isn't there a "do not show again" message. They seriously think we are stupid or that we're going to go crying to tech support when we can't make calls because airplane mode is active.
Has anyone found a solution for this on 4.3?
I have never had any popup dialog box when toggling the Mobile Data button.
However ever since 4.2 which I have been using for the last 6 months the Flight Mode popup dialog box comes up every single time you toggle it on or off which is the most annoying thing about Android I have ever experienced. (since I use Flight mode several times daily).
I'm guessing the suggestion of having "Do Not Show Again" would be more suitably aimed at either Samsung or Google (Android)?, and I seriously doubt that those guys will change/fix it.
So is there anyone here in XDA land that could provide a fix/mod/hack for this issue please?
I also had the same popup msg problem when turning up the volume (on 4.2) which was annoying as all hell! -But I haven't seen it again since 4.3 though I'm not sure if that was from the JB update, or if it was a part of Omega ROM's old Loud Volume hack which seems to be no longer available since 4.3
Anyway thanks in advance for anyone's help to permanently disable popup msgs.
Cheers
Here's a screenshot. I would have cropped it down but I don't have all day to figure out how to do that from a tablet. Look at the top, next to the signal meter: http://i.imgur.com/OLBVoEg.jpg
I recently spent a week in Japan, and this first appeared while I was there. I thought it had something to do with the network over there, but after coming back to the US, it still appears. Whether in Japan or the US, I've had a perfectly acceptable signal, no loss of GPS connectivity, really no loss of anything as far as I can tell. I've rebooted multiple times since it first appeared and it always remains, and never goes away. I simply cannot figure out what that symbol is telling me, and Google has been no help. I've tried turning off and back on everything that I thought might be responsible, with no changes.
I'm running a Nexus 5 on stock Android 5.0.1. I haven't updated to 5.1 yet because I'm rooted and need to get home to my computer to manually flash the update.
I figured out what it was. The no icon means that I've turned off interruptions altogether (I must have accidentally hit something). There's also a star icon which means you're set for priority interruptions only.
