Hi to all members
I really like this forum and i am an Omnia user. I have a i900 Omnia but i am not happy with it because of the speed... Features are good but not fast because of Winmo.
There is a project called andromnia but i think they stopped. anyone can help them or make Android run on Omnia? Also i think there is a donation who makes Android to run on Omnia...
Waiting for your help and efforts.
Thanks

I need a new phone, im poor lol.. so my choices are a HD2 or a Xperia X10, I love android, and I wanna know if the ROMs on the HD2 are as good as any other ROM for a native Android device.
Or am I better off with the X10?...
Thank u guyz.
Oh and is it hard to install Android on the HD2?
Well got both an X10 and an HD2,
Got an Desire HD Android build on my HD2 and i find it as smooth as on the X10.
Tbh, as you don't need to be root on Android HD2, I find it easier to tweak and you got more answers on the web whatever you are searching for.
So my vote would go to the HD2 + Android, as smooth, better screen, easier to tweak, a better feedback and you can still use the native WM or alternative Rom.
As for the installation, you just need to copy any Android build you want to try on your
MicroSD device and launch this.
Should work perfectly. (Just had to flash my radio because of a robot voice issue)
I'd get an HD2 simply for the development factor, you can get more kernels, ROMs, and builds and fixes.
You also have your choice of any winmo ROM if you want as an added bonus.
Android on HD2 is on par with Android on the X10 IMO, I would much rather have my HD2
You guyz are bomb!!!
Thanks a lot for the help!!!!! =D

hi i've got a samsung omnia hd i8910... i think that symbian sucks and i've seen that there are a lot of porting for other mobile phone. so i ask you: can you create a way to install wp7 or android on i8910? the hardware of this phone is not bad and now there is also the overclock made by HyperX (up to 900MHz) .. so, someone can try to find a way to upgrade this phone to a really OS ? sorry for my bad english.
please help us, we are a lot with this problem!
up... please help us!
up please... help
hello everybody!
i am an omnia hd's owner too!
i think this smartphone is superb!the only limit is the symbian 5th O.S. infact i'd like to know why samsung team put this instead of android and didn't released any important update.
if android porting isn't possible, anyway i hope symbian 3^.
thanks for any help in advance!
i've knew that in past the problem was the boot loader. but i've read also that it was unlocked.
so where is the problem now?
the cpu is the OMAP3430 so i think that there is no problem to a android porting because the motorola droid has it too...
or maybe a porting of the maemo os, infact n900 has a OMAP3430.
help us... we want that our phone rise again, because we paid it a lot not so time ago.. and it has a very good hardware...
AFAIK No one else on this forum has one and no one is going to buy one to dev for you unless you donate.
i will donate if you could find codec dark edition room for me
I have this now. Great phone. I still use it mostly for the speakers.
I would love to see Symbian 3 Belle on. It's near impossible I guess. I wish Samsung had not ditched dual speakers.
Samsung really bombed this phone. A little more wide spread release and support with update to later versions of Symbian and it would have been soooo much better.

i've been wondering if it's possible to make an Android ROM based on Froyo,Gingerbread or Honeycomb for Tablet have it running on a nokia n800? what do i need? if this is possible, nitdroid project has not been active for the n800 port, i have seen some video showing n800s running eclair or even froyo, but this people doesnt responde at all, nitdroid says the n800 port has been stopped and instead n900 port is in the making, i wanna give a try for myself if something can give me some guidance i would appreciate it so much
Thanks so much in advance
BTW
I managed to install nitdroid on my n800,. but we are talking about donut, and is kinda slow , dont have sound at all, and the main objective is to ditch maemo and to have android as primary OS in the tablet, before getting enough money to buy a MMP powered with android, like the samsung galaxy player 50 or some other android device equally small like the n800
Thanks again guys for any help
I just read an article regarding the Samsung Focus S, basically a Windows Phone 7 version of our beloved Galaxy S II... I was wondering if they have similar hardware inside? And will it be possible for some awesome dev to port the Mango ROM found on it to run on our GS2? Read something here on xda about dualbooting ROM's on the Galaxy S2... Wouldn't it be awesome if you could have both? The HTC HD2 is quite a old device but it can run Android, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 perfectly... Could the same be possible for a Galaxy S2, except the Windows Mobile of course.
Please don't reply things like 'if you wanted WP7 why didn't you buy a WP7 device'. I'm extremely satisfied with my GS2 but if it were possible to see how the other side lives I'd really like to do that. Any thoughts?
As WP7 is not open source, its more or less like illegal to port it to other devices to which it is not intended to run.
The HD2 is a windows phone, so don't forget that! This is the ONLY reason it can run WP7
I also would love to have that option, if nothing else, to just try WP7. Would also be willing to donate, though I understand the awesome developers don't do it for money.

WP7 is not compatible with the Galaxy S2 proccessor. But WP7 is made almost exclusively for Qualcomm processors. So, don't ever expect a WP7 mango port for Galaxy S2.
Since WP7 is not opensource, the custom ROMs and ports are just repacked existing ROMs with minor modifications or mix and match different ROMs. Since there is no WP7 phones running on similar hardware, this is not possible on Galaxy S2.
As, for HD2, it's hardware is similar to most WP7 phones with HD7 being almost same hardware has HD2 with just minor change.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

The fact that it is possible to run WP7 has nothing to do with the fact that it is shipped with Windows Phone.
It is unlikely that it will ever be ported to our device. Sad but true. Sad because WP7 is a great platform and it would be great to have Android and WP7 on our device.
thanks for all the reply's, it is quite sad though that this will likely never happen... oh well, we still have the phone of the year...
Oh and sorry for posting in the wrong section... my bad...

HI, I'm a very happy user of Droid RAZR, and I'd just like to know if some good and kind rom porter could bring that amazing to our XT910/912, it's a really fantastic rom and we should give it a try, and porters who are in it has reporting it's a lot eaiser, in that case, I'd like to know if someone could even help me on that Project, cause I've got some experience porting rom's on Galaxy Pocket S5300 and Ace, I'm just concern with bugs related to OMAP chipset, but beside it, I'm totally ok on porting/testing for anyone who want's to joy on that incredible OS;
