I can ear the sound that I've assigned to new emails when I receive a new GMAIL message (I have it configured to query server each 60 minutes for new mail), this works perfectly.
But it is not the same with HOTMAIL messages , I don't understand why is this way! (I have configured HOTMAIL to read mail each 60 minutes too)
Ok, the reading and downloading methods for GMAIL and HOTMAIL are different, as second it's done by the Windows Live Application, but in both cases the messages ends in its inboxes in HD2, so... why the GMAIL alert sounds, and HOTMAIL not?
What can I do? T_T

I have original HTC hero Rom 1.5 Android, waiting for 2.1. My issue is, the email application doesn't check my emails as per schedule and I don't get notified of nothing although notification sound is on, send and recieve polling check is every 2 hours. I can send emails fine I cannot recieve most of the time. My hotmail account doesn't work at all, I got all the settings from hotmail website.
In k9mail, I get old messages as new every single day so I uninstalled it.

Check you dont have a task killer that is killing the mail app so its not checking like it should.
Failing that get your current email (hotmail, yahoo mail, whatever it is) to forward emails to a gmail account, that way you get push emails.

I currently have several email accounts set up with K9 email but I seem to have a bit of an issue here and there.
I have;
Two Hotmail accounts ; I am receiving emails that come to the Hotmail addresses into both my hotmail account AND into the K9 accounts on my droid. NO ISSUES.

One Gmail account which is my business email. I have my @gmail.com configured to forward to my @.customdomain.com. I am receiving all emails sent by people to my K9 account on my Droid but it does not arrive into my outlook . When I send an email to my @custom.domain.com account from my own outlook package, it does arrive back in my outlook inbox . So gmail seems to be routing my own outlook mail ok but not anything coming from third parties via gmail.
I am guessing it is a simple setting but where ? I have all the "delete from server" etc UNCHECKED in the account settings ....
Can anyone shed a light with what info I have given >??

Ok may be when k9 gets updated it sets email as already poped or read to your domain that's why outlook doesn't retrieve them. But when you send them through outlook may be due to internal routing it comes to your inbox and not through server. Try this deconfigure your k9 and see if it pops in outlook or set outlook to retrieve all mail read unread deleted poped. I don't know how.

I am new to Android and coming from a Blackberry. How can I sync the emails in outlook with my new phone? I don't have an exchange server and I would prefer to do it with the mail app that came with the phone. I would like the emails to delete from outlook when I delete them on the phone and show as read when I read them on the phone and vice versa. I would prefer not to have the emails and information sent into the "cloud" also if that is possible, but if it is the only way so be it.
I know that I can have the two different email addresses sent to my phone through the included mail app by setting them up separately, but would the emails show as read, deleted, etc in outlook if I did that?
If it makes a difference I have two email addresses that feed into outlook. One of them is pop and one is imap. The phone is an HTC Amaze.
Could I just convert my pop email to imap and set up the two email addresses separately on my phone? Wouldn't that make it so when I delete email from outlook or the phone, it will be deleted on the other?
The problem with this is my isp does not offer imap so I will have to use google email to sync with it and make it imap.
If I do this I will have to add the gmail account to outlook and my phone, but wouldn't I have to delete the pop account from outlook and the phone in order to avoid duplicate emails showing up? I think this might happen because right now if I check the pop account without using outlook the emails show up that were received after I last opened outlook. The issue with deleting the pop account from outlook and phone is I still want to be able to send emails from that address.
I have one email account that I check via POP with MS Outlook. I set it so that mail is left on the server and deleted after it is older than X days.
I use K-9 to read mail via POP for another account on my phone. I set K-9 to only keep last 100 messages and was under impression that everything older will be erased from the server automatically.
Today I found out it doesn't work like that - my mailbox on the server got full - messages were never deleted.
Can K-9 be set up similar to Outlook in that respect? I found multiple options like "Delete on a server if you delete message locally" but I don't want to delete anything locally by hand - this email is used only to receive status reports from automated jobs and I receive too many messages every day to delete them manually. I don't mind switching from POP to IMAP if this would help.
Hey, I've been trying to set up my email on htc one x for 2 days with no success.
I've settled down for aqua mail, after trying maildroid, k-9 (****ty icon lol).
The thing is that my hotmail acount doen't mark as read on server.
From what i understand it's because hotmail is pop'? but it has always worked for me on iphone. Is there a way to get around this.
I dont want to change provider, or forward my mail, or pay for email app, I'd like to have both hotmail and gmail accounts in one unified inbox so rather not just have gmail hotmail separately.
My stock email app is insanely slow, there's something wrong with it, how do i reinstall it?
Is there seriously not a single way to setup hotmail and gmail in the same app except for the stock mail app?
None of the ones i tried are able to mark as read messages on the hotmail server.
K-9 didnt work when i tried to set it up as exchange, because it's webdav or something.
aqua mail, mail droid, enhanced email, nothing!
