I'm using an X10i with Vodafone Ireland and have rooted and updated the firmware from Vodafone's R1FA014 (i.e. they haven't put out an update since launch) to R2BA026.
Anyway, from the get-go I've been getting this "No Service" message on both the lock screen and above the notification window; like so...
Code:
(No service)
VODAFONE IE
The thing is I have service. It's running perfectly. Full 3g, can handle phone calls, data, SMS, MMS and it's even happy talking to GPS satellites. Functionally it's not a problem, it's just irritating to see it there.
Anyone seen this before? Something obvious I'm missing perhaps; or just an error of some kind?
Thanks in advance.

Hi. I am asking this question for my partner who has an iMate Smartflip and she always roasts me for not sending here texts when I know I have. (I have a TyTnII with delivery noti on).
It appears she sends an SMS to me and I answer immediately, her Smartfilp does not pick it up but if she receives one 'out of the blue' it's OK. This is also very hit and miss in the way it fails.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Checked the Forum and can't seem to see anything.
Cheers.
BTW, tried the obvious and put the SIM card in a different phone and it works fine....
Doesn't she use any data connection (GPRS)? The SMS should be delivered even when are connected but I have experienced delays of messages (I recieved SMS's few hours after the sending even my phone was turned on).
No GPRS in use as it's a PAYG SIM. Just the standard service center number.
It's really strange, the messages are not delayed, just don't appear on the phone even if I send them and get back a delivery notification as if its getting certain data it can't handle.
It's probably been fixed in a HTC firmware update but you know how iMate are slow to follow...
You can install any firmware you want to. If it's not a problem for you/her I hope update (which wipe out all user data as well) helps you. The newest firmware from Cingular would be probably the best one. (I dont have phone from Cingular but Im using their fw so it must be the same with iMate)
My problem:
I'm a happy user of the HERO, running rooted 2.73 and the latest Radio.
Yesterday, I went abroad (From Holland all the way to Belgium ), but an issue appeared. As soon as the phone changed to a belgian provider, the radio frooze. The whole phone worked, I got full signal according the signal bars, but was unable to call out, receive calls or send/receive text messages. After reboot, the phone kept telling me that my sim was blocked for this provider. I have used this sim in various other phones (BB_Bold, iPhone, Touch Pro etc.) and all worked fine.
What's wrong? Is it a setting?
anybody any ideas?
I have looked at all of the threads and here goes...
I can't make phone calls. When I do I get a friendly message saying, "connection cannot be made." It seems to me that there is a disconnect with my provider. The provider is Sunrise Switzerland. Thus I am suspecting that I can make a call, but because I am not officially logged into the network for calling it is not letting me make calls. I am making the assumption that if it was a ROM issue I would not get the pre-recorded message from Sunrise.
Here are the details on the phone:
It is a Sony Xperia with the latest update 2.1 baseband .54. It is a "branded" phone from Orange Switzerland, but completely unlocked. I checked on the branded by looking at the services numbers.
I then modded the phone, and the phone call problems began. I did wipe everything as per the regular instructions. I upgraded using xrecovery. The phone can connect to Sunrise, and per the services menu it states connected to Sunrise. I can use the Internet connection, thus surf, get email, etc. What I cannot do is make a phone call.
Model: X10i
Android version: 2.2.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: FreeX10-beta4_zdzihu
When I originally started the device I was asked for a network code and dismissed that dialog. Anything to do with it? And if so how do I get it back?
I want to stress that I wiped the machine clean with factory reset, etc, etc...
Because I posted in the wrong forum I got one answer, and followed it.
Namely I installed the Wolfbreak's ROM for my baseband. That just made things worse. I could not even get on my network.
Interestingly I decided to fallback to my original ROM, and on that I cannot make phone calls, nor receive (due to not being on the network), or data does not work. If I restore back to the ROM that I used, namely the Free then data still works, but not calls.
Found the answer and it is bizarre...
Essentially what happened is that my installation of Xperia went correctly. The problem is that I have two sims. The way to use one sim or another was to not have the other phone on. Or at least that is how I was using it.
I phone Sunrise and I told them my phone is activated. He said, "no your other phone is on." I pointed out and he then said to activate my phone. I did as per his instructions and all went ok.
The funny thing is that this was a "bug" in their system that they patched. And the patch JUST happened to be the same day as when I upgraded my phone to the new ROM.
The tech support was nice and cracked up laughing...
Hello,
I am troubled by a problem I am trying to solve for more than a week now. I have searched everywhere for a solution, nothing has worked.
I will try to keep it short.
Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
Android 4.3 (but this problem occured shortly before the OTA update to 4.3, end of December 2013)
I9300XXUGMK6 (initially unrooted, rooted only because of this problem)
IMEI: ok (3531...)
S/N: ok
The problem:
Incoming or outgoing call
I can't hear anything, the other side can't hear me
Often the call is interrupted after ~20s with the message "no coverage" (roughly translated from the German "ausserhalb des Abdeckungsbereichs")
If that happens, the phone indeed has no network connection for a short while (visible by the (\) symbol)
During that time, in the device state info tab, you can read "Service state Radio off" (translated)
During the call, although it is an active call (the other side rang etc.), the "mobile network state" says "disconnected" (!!)
Same problem with other SIM card that works in a different mobile phone
Data connection is fine, reception is fine, SMS work
One week ago, it worked for a single day, right after I rooted the phone!
I have reflashed 3-part-firmwares with complete wipe, tried this and several other things, nothing worked.
Any ideas? :crying:
Thanks for your time!
Sounds like hardware failure, take it to a repair centre.

I use the S voice feature quite a bit. All of a sudden, I started getting this error message saying that the phone can't find the network. Wi-fi is enabled as well as Bluetooth. I have voice coverage as well as data. I thought at first that it was due to a bad root. I replied the stock image but that didn't fix the problem. I went back to a rooted status. Any idea what could be going on here?
