Hi all, I've been browsing the forum for a couple of days and have the fix for turning off voodoo but haven't been able to find anything explaining how to completely remove it. Will replacing the kernel remove it?

place a blank file named disable-lagfix in the voodoo folder on your internal sd card, reboot and wait for linda to tell you the process is done. then flash a non voodoo kernel to rid yourself of it permanently.
Thanks!

Help, I downloaded some fonts and when I select one they don't display even after restarting my phone. I don't have any custom ROM or anything...Why won't they work?

Are you rooted? I am not sure if you have to be rooted for it to work. I wouldn't assume you have to be rooted though.
You went into the settings after installing them and selected which one you want through the sounds and display/fonts menu?

If you have OCLF installed then you need to use its Install Fonts feature to install fonts - otherwise nothing will change in the system.
I had exactly the same issue and figure it out literally few hours ago

I put a new folder named disable voodoo in the voodoo folder and it is still voodoo because It didn't take like 5 minutes to boot and quadrant scores are 1400 +

I'm not sure if supercurio updated the voodoo scripts, but I always used disable_voodoo regular file in the Voodoo directory.

Ditto. I was going to say it should be a file and not a folder, but it looks like you beat me.
Okay never mind I flashed the file and worked then I put nero 2 and now I get the red recovery sombionix was talking about! Thanks all

There is an app in the Market called Voodoo Toggle that makes it very easy to detect if (a) voodoo is enabled and (b) easy to disable it.
If you flashed a custom rom, more than likely the disable voodoo is erroring on calling the format.fat file. In a custom rom that will be either misconfigured, or not even there. Follow this link, and you will find your answers.

Ok guys im no noob but I did get spoiled with the one click lag fix. And one click root. I had my phone all flashed out and running super smooth and super fast, and then it was stolen last week. I just got my new one and was sad to see that the rooting option was removed.from the app. I tried a method I foumd in the forums but I couldnt get it to root. Kept getting an error when I hit "reinstall packages". So any help or useful tips would be much much appreciated! I gotta get rooted again, im having flashing withdrawls!

Did you try re-downloading the one click root file?? May have a corrupted file and usually you can redownload and it should work fine.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
yes.i have downloaded it 3 times, I am just missing something stupid, I know it. But im going to try it again. It can't be this hard
If you go to unlockr.com (oneclick rooting android) they have a nice rooting video on how to do it. Oneclick has a later version 1.5.5 depending on what you are running you may need later version. The video is step by step
Yeah google made them remove the root option

If your on eclair, not sure why you would be having an issue... Did you read the noob guide?
Thought I'd take stab at it....USB debugging enabled?

... And to goodvibrant. Should it be on or off?

You'll want to enable usb debugging when using the one click root app.
Before connecting the phone to the pc enable it in the menu. From home hit menu button> settings> applications> development and check usb debugging.

Wondering if simply unrooting will remove lag fixes? I rooted 2.2 using SuperOneClick and applied OCLF... Removed OCLF shortly after, but now it is showing I have lag fix installed.. Not sure where it came from. Not sure how to remove it. Can't remove via OCLF.
Stock 2.2... Nothing fancy.

why do you want to get rid of the lag fix? Can't you disable it in cwm?
No it will not remove it by doing super user. Plus I'd leave being rooted and ext4 on. Why do you want to remove it.

Well, its not the lagfix itself im concerned about as much as I am
with which lagfix... I just dont know what it is or how it got there. Is there a way I can find that out? Does it even matter? I just thought it was strange.

(Question) What causes the need to fix permissions everytime I want to flash something? Everytime I go to fix permissions, it seems to take longer and longer to fix also (approx. 30-45 seconds). Also, it seems like this is always the fix in order to have successful flashing of themes/fonts/mods. Is there a resolution to this?

Did you see my answer to this exact same question over at Android Central? You can't get a better explanation than that.

No sir, I did not see that. Thank you for answering it twice for me!!
Anyways...Well I understand this. I am just confused as to why I continuously have 152 errors whenever i fix permissions. Doesn't seem to "fix" anything, unless i am doing something wrong. I've fixed via TE and CWM. Help is much appreciated.
