I put a new folder named disable voodoo in the voodoo folder and it is still voodoo because It didn't take like 5 minutes to boot and quadrant scores are 1400 +

I'm not sure if supercurio updated the voodoo scripts, but I always used disable_voodoo regular file in the Voodoo directory.

Ditto. I was going to say it should be a file and not a folder, but it looks like you beat me.
Okay never mind I flashed the file and worked then I put nero 2 and now I get the red recovery sombionix was talking about! Thanks all

There is an app in the Market called Voodoo Toggle that makes it very easy to detect if (a) voodoo is enabled and (b) easy to disable it.
If you flashed a custom rom, more than likely the disable voodoo is erroring on calling the format.fat file. In a custom rom that will be either misconfigured, or not even there. Follow this link, and you will find your answers.

Hi all, I've been browsing the forum for a couple of days and have the fix for turning off voodoo but haven't been able to find anything explaining how to completely remove it. Will replacing the kernel remove it?

place a blank file named disable-lagfix in the voodoo folder on your internal sd card, reboot and wait for linda to tell you the process is done. then flash a non voodoo kernel to rid yourself of it permanently.
Thanks!

Let me know how that goes. I've read too many horror stories about voodoo. Make sure you move any apps on your sd card to your phone. Some apps like angry birds install to your sd card by default on froyo roms.

You can run OCLF just fine ... make sure you run 'Restore Bootanimation' before you click on Lagfix v2

You are the person that had trouble with it on the Axura thread?
It does work, or I wouldn't have included it in the extras. You need to flash the file via Clockwork.

It clearly states that it comes pre-enabled, therefore you don't have to do anything other then flashing it. Make sure to disalbe it if you plan on adding mods. Some don't require, but some do.
To disable voodoo, hold the on/off button as if you are turning youe phone off. When the menu pops up, click "recovery", that will take you into a red looking recovery mode. There you'll have the option to enable/disable voodoo.
*Don't use that particular recovery for anything else*
I have the dead horse kernel

ummm...reboot into CWM...go to Advanced ULK features...go to lagfix options...if you see EXT4 on anything then VooDoo is enabled...if it says RFS anywhere then the lagfix is disabled....
or
Download Quadrant Standard from market and run a benchmar....you should get about 1400 - 1800
it says data_fs=ext4
cache_fs=rfs
dbdata_fs=rfs
is it enabled?
?!?!?!?!
Hmm...to tell you the truth...i'm not sure....try Quadrant and tell me the results

Sounds like you're VooDoo enabled then.....
I thought VooDoo converted data and cache to EXT4.....oh well....you're lagfix'ed
noob friendly = download the app, voodoo toggle.
So I recently updated from original bionix v to bionix v 1.3.1, using eugene's dead horse 221.
My battery life if pretty good, but I wanna try overstock, and it says to flash through red recovery, but dead horse has a green recovery...
I don't wanna lose my apps again, so how do I go about this without losing apps?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You have to install a stock + voodoo kernel. You wont lose any apps. Titanium backup is awesome for backing up your apps before flashing.
And that's flashable through green recovery? Also, I won't lose sd contents, will I?

The best bet is to undo any lag fix you are using and then flash. If you do that you should be fine.
Okay, I'm not on any lagfix, on rfs right now, but it's still a green recovery...is that okay?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I just flashed to overstock yesterday using CWM, was reading the posts about the red recovery thing. and they were saying meant that if your recovery screen was red you had voodoo lag fix on. i think one guy was having issues because he didnt have the voodoo lag fix on, his recovery screen was blue or green (sorry cant recall).
overstock runs pretty nice on my stock 2.2 KA6. my quadrant have all been about 1500+ with out any overclocking. i got it for the voodoo sound, had the voodoo lag fix previously.
Phi is incorrect..you can have a red recovery without voodoo enabled. OP you need to flash the kb1 stock + voodoo kernal from supercurios thread and then you can flash overstock. Your choice if you want to use voodoo though.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Just did it. I'm on voodoo now...does it really make a difference? Cause I just want better battery life...and I'm also noticing some interference on my screen since installing overstock....it's random though
