I have a T-Mobile HTC HD2 1024 purchased on August 8th, 2010, it has all the new updates and stock ROM. I am having one issue with the device that really aggravates me. While I am in the Windows Mobile stock ROM and am receiving an SMS/ MMS message, the phone will freeze in whatever I am doing for about three seconds until it vibrates and alerts me that the message has been received. If I am not doing anything and the screen is off and I receive a text, the phone's screen will turn on, onto the lock screen for about 5-6 seconds before it alerts me that the text has been received. Does everybody have this problem and is there any way to fix it? Thanks upfront.
it's a known issue. it's HTCs stupid Messaging app. The only fixes are to either regularly delete all your texts (temp until it gets full again) or to disable HTC Messaging.

Is anyone else noticing it takes longer than usual (for an android phone) to send an SMS? I sent a 5 message long SMS (700+ characters) and it was on "Sending" for almost a minute. I know it takes longer to send longer messages, but on previous phones (D1, Fascinate), the "Sending" process would work in the background - so I can actually do other stuff on the phone while it sends. But the HTC Messaging app sends in the foreground, so I'd have to wait until it finishes sending to continue using the phone. I assume this is just the HTC Messenger app itself?
No issue w/ that on my end; however, had issues sending/receiving likely due to a previously discussed issue that a reply to number is sent with the messages initially that results in your friends not being able to reply back. A simple reboot seems to fix that for most people or you can disable that option in the messages menu from what I've read... but hadn't heard anything about delays in sending long messages yet...
As part of my job responsibilities I am on call and receive pages for system alerts. Sometimes, we get many (hundreds) of alerts at once. The first time this happened with my S4 it rebooted itself after about 30 SMS messages were received in quick succession. Three more times this past weekend it did the same thing. At the time I was on the lock screen, so the SMS notification thing was up on the screen, and I could tell it was having trouble updating the screen with the frequency of incoming notifications.
Anyone else experience this problem, and do you think Verizon would accept this as "faulty" and exchange my phone for something that can handle SMS notifications, if there's no fix?
No I'm not rooting, if I pay for a working phone I want a working phone out of the box. If I mess with it afterwards, THEN I have only myself to blame, but I'd like to get this issue worked out before I do that, as I have done with all the phones I've rooted/unlocked.
I have now had my M9 for 2 days. As with my M8 on 5.0.2, texting seems to restart frequently. There is a delay on incoming messages and every time you start the app it seems to reload messages.
When you start the app the contacts appear but when you go to a contact the messages area is blank, the timing circle appears and many seconds later the messages appear. New messages may or may not appear for an even longer period.
After several texts you get either am 'Messages is Restarting' message or now I am getting an error report and a request to send data . . . .
This same thing that happened when my M8 upgraded to 5.0.2
Has anyone had the same problem or found a resolution . . .
I am not having that issue, but I am using GO SMS Pro and not stock messaging. Have you tried other messaging?
I have an issue that keeps causing me to hit the emergency call button on my phone.. Every time I receive a text message my screen turns on. I've tried literally everything that I can think of. I tried turning off all notifications from the default sms and downloading go sms and disabling screen on, that didn't work. I tried freezing the sms app and using go sms, that didn't work. Finally I deleted all 3rd party apps and turned off all notifications for sms then had my wife send me a message, and my screen turned on with no sms notification but it's still turning on when I receive a sms. It's only when I receive sms that it happens. I have a ZTE grand x Max plus Rooted and ready to try anything that you guys have to offer. Amazing phone other than that little annoying "feature"
There is proper delayed of 10-15 seconds in between the moment I press send and the message is sent (1 tick appears) from my Sprint M9, the delay happens on all apps and it happens on WIFI and Mobile data both. This has really frustrated me and I really want to get rid of it already. Apart from that when I receive messages on whatsapp or snapchat I get the notification an hour or two late, this although doesnt happen with messenger, notifications of messenger are received instantly.
