If the words "I am using clockwork recovery" appear in your problem post, the responses will basically be, "well there's your problem!" do yourselves a favor, flash image to amon ra, it works better and it doesn't brick your phone.
Thank you.

When I rooted my phone I installed Amon recovery. Recently I flashed CyanogenEris and now I have Clockworldmod as my recovery. Should I revert to Amon, and if so, how?
ps, Amon was great because it had enable usb MS- does clockworld? I couldn't find it.
Thank you in advance

Did you use rom manager by chance?
Just install amon's like you originally did.
I installed it from the Marketplace but uninstalled it right away, I guess that was that box at the top prompting me for an additional install that I obliged to blindly? Thanks for pointing that out to me. When I install Amon again will it overwrite/delete Clockworld?

Please help, as of yesterday while messing with "Rom Manager" (Version 4301) I clicked "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". Now I wish to remove it, yet after scowering the internet for answers I get either complex dagerous looking solutions or ones for other phones. Also if this helps any my phone is version 2.1.
I apologize if this under the wrong thread or this question has already been answered. It's just that I'm new to this type of thing and forums...
First go onto ur sd card and remove the clockwork mod folder. Then odin back to stock. Delete the update package if thats how u rooted or unroot using super one click.

Thanks a lot. "Odin" is the key word I needed, just with that one word more then 20 helpful video tutorials on youtube. Again, thanks...
But... Clockwork Recovery is so incredibly awesome and helpful. Why would you only want the ability to use your stock recovery?
Are you returning the phone?
new to this. Love my 3d but want to learn more about rooting. I have rooted all htcs out right now but i have a buddy who has a unlocked photon with superuser installed. The person who said they were gonna root it stopped at that. There is no recovery img. What is the best method of flashing a recovery img. Doing the steps in the forums using the terminal emulator doesn't work. I dont know if this is because superuser is already there. I think photon is a awesome phone but would be awesome to flash some other roms on. Any help would be much appreciated.
If superuser is there it may be rooted. Download terminal emulator from market and open it then type SU. It should pop up and ask if you want to "allow" super user permissions. Also when you turn it off and reboot does it say "unlocked" on the top left corner?
I know its got su but can I, and if so how do I get clockwork img or another recovery img on it.

I flashed the wrong recovery and my dumb butt deleted the one I downloaded. Can someone please email me the CWM file itself so I can re flash it?

The links to DL it aren't working for some reason right now.
Thanks a ton!
You should use Amon Ra instead of CWM on the Rezound due to bugginess.

That's the weird thing... I initially flashed CWM, and it worked(but hung up with the backing up) and then I flashed Amon Ra via bootloader and it would go through the procedure and then say "parsing" then it would be the usual 4 options. Then I went to do a factory reset and, when I do that, it simply goes to the white HTC screen and hangs there. So I got a feeling that I have some work to do tonight.
When I first flashed Amon Ra it didn't show Recovery. I don't remember what I selected to get it to show since someone was walking me through it in chat. This is my first time rooting.
I think I had to select bootloader the first time I went into Recovery? I don't know... but I remember thinking it hadn't worked. So maybe it's the same with you? Sorry I can't be of more assistance. I'm more of a forum librarian who has read most of the threads and can pull up the appropriate helpful thread when needed.
Hey Feral, any help what so ever is greatly appreciated. I am going to be fine once I get to my dev computer but I am stuck at work right now so it's driving me crazy lol!

George ,
I'm having a very similar problem, everything I do or try to do from the boot screen results in an instant haptic buzz, and straight to htc white screen. I cant get out of it unless I pull the battery, but then the phone will reboot and function normally, just with no changes. I even tried a factory reset thru the settings, it acted like it did it, but the phone came back up just like it was, nothing was wiped.
I'll be following this thread and others, and if I stumble on to anything that will help us, I will report back. Thanks, Scott
I've been searching my newbie butt off for this answer but can't find it. Just got a new Verizon SG4, got root successfully, installed SafeStrap successfully, but can't get it to reboot to recovery. It simply reboots the phone. SafeStrap is showing "Recovery State: Installed". When I press "Reboot to Recovery" it takes superuser and looks like it's going there, but then simply goes through the standard restart script. What am I doing wrong here?

After installing the apk did you open the app and install recovery? Never used it myself but I did read the thread and install instructions.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.

Yes, per my post, SafeStrap is showing Recovery State: Installed. So I believe I was able to successfully install recovery.
