Hello everyone I canceled my contact with t mobile shortly after I got my vibrant because I could not afford the plan due to reasons I rather not say . About a week later I found out about simple mobile which runs off t mobiles network but alot cheaper and ordered a sim and everything was working fine for two months until about a week ago my phone said no service and it said my sim wasn't allowed to connect to the network thinking it was a sim card issue I ordered another simple mobile sim and it still says no service only thing simple mobile could tell me is the imei might be blocked so my question is is this even possible I thought blacklisting the imei didn't happen in the states . Thanks to all that can help

I have friends that still work at t-mobile. If you owe on a device and the device is not payed off on the account they can blacklist the IMEI and shut the phone down from operating anywhere else. they just started doing a few months ago. inly option is to pay off your bill with tmobile. then the blacklist will be removed. From my understanding its only if you didn't pay off the device.. so all these cool payment plans can screw you anyways,

if you cancel service with a provider within 30-90 days sometimes longer depending on if it was a direct or indirect dealer you are usually required to pay retail value or return the phone. Otherwise yah this happens.

You didn't know this when you bought the phone? So you couldn't sell the phone and pay your final bill? Sureeeeeeeeeeee! It doesn't make sense to me, and you are a deadbeat. You don't pay your bills and from the sound of it, you had to have known you couldn't pay the bill.

I need the phone for my work . I plan on paying off the bill in full as I have set up a payment plan to pay off the bill and the situation with my child didn't occur until I had the phone for a week or so , it was unexpected . You have no right to judge me as anything honestly you don't know my situation I'm in .i have perfect credit and every bill I have is paid on time but that was something I could not control .

14 day return period in every state except for CA. Who is judging you? You didn't pay the bill (definition of deadbeat regardless of any reason you have) and you had plenty of time to return the phone like I suspected.

Yes I could have returned it but I was willing just to pay the termination fee and keep the phone so I could use the phone as I need it for work and can't be without a phone for that reason . So mods can we close this thread now because it has gone completely off topic

You're the one who seems to want help circumventing the carriers restriction on your IMEI preventing you from using your phone on any carrier that uses Tmobile.
It sounds to many of us like you got the phone really cheap & decided that you'd just pay the $250 ETA and keep the phone without realizing you'd need to pay the bill as well. End result sounds like you wanted a new phone for ~350 rather than paying retail like people like myself did.
Regardless, you were trying to do something shady & if you came on here & wanted to get around the unlock screen, you'd probably be getting flamed about as much.
Anyways, if you haven't upgraded to JI6, you should be able to unlock the phone for free [if it isn't already], otherwise, you'd need to buy an unlock code from someplace like ebay. Once you're unlocked, you can use use it on AT&T as long as Tmo doesn't share that info with them (which, who knows, they might).

They really are getting out of hand with this already. Granted they have the best service by far, especially for me coming from Sprint, who had no 4g at all here, but come on already. Opinions seem to indicate that this is a result of people paying late, and Verizon is trying to force them to enroll in autopay, but come on. If someone's more than a day or two late, turn their phone off. Don't punish everyone for the actions of a few.

I have never been late, my first year I didn't want to be late because I didn't want to be screwed and lose my deposit, lol.
I heard this a few days ago. It really seems crazy to me, but this decision was far above my pay grade. I have auto payment set up so it doesn't matter to me, but still seems a bit much. One thing I did see though, and we will see if it is true when this rolls out, but if you have auto payment you can pay early with a different payment method and it will not take out of the account you have set up for automatic payment or charge the fee. Again, we will see if it really is that way once this rolls out.
Makes a lot of sense, the one method that must cost Verizon the most manpower to process, that's the free method. I understand that they have to make money, but it's far less insulting to just jack up the bill by 2 dollars and say "look, we need more revenue". Rather than say "hey, the two ways that we've been trying to encourage you to pay for the last few years is now going to cost you unless you give us unrestricted access to your credit card or bank accounts, but hey that really inconvenient and wasteful method is still free". Right, so when there's a billing error or some other problem with charges, they can take the money regardless and then you can fight with them to get it back if you're lucky. No thanks.

Most business' use a third party to receive their payments, this is why they charge.

I guess I must be lucky. None of the businesses I deal with charge a fee to pay online...phone maybe, but not online. I haven't used a check to pay a bill in as long as I can remember (years). I don't even know if I still have any.

I refuse to keep stored payment info with verizon. 2 months ago, they processed a payment I didn't authorize a week before it was due. They couldn't explain it, said that I made the payment in the store. I've never made an in store payment. Guess I'll start sending them checks...
Online bill pay with Chase works great. It takes 5 days for them to receive payment Fyi.

online is the way to go, I have paid VZ that way for a couple years now.
I don't have it pay automatically, as I dont totally trust VZ to always get the bill right and I want to check it first, but it takes about 20 seconds to pay the bill online when it comes.

Yeah, everyone who said online banking rocks tha house is right. I can pay my 17 or so different bills in about 3 minutes. It used to take an hour and a half at least when I mailed them. Plus I'm saving loads of paper which always makes me feel good.

Online bill pay is the way to go with anything. Its free, normally done electronically for fast and on time processing, easy payment tracking on One secure site, proof payment was made on a third party system and last but not least can also set as automatic payments using your banks system.

I'm filling a complaint because of this. I get paid once a month, one day before my bill is due. If they force this autodraft restriction it will cause me to overdraft my account as most autopay scenarios take the money out 3-5 days before the bill is due. I've already had Verizon move my billing date up once, I doubt they will do it again. This is just wrong of them.

AT&T info needed ASAP

So, I bought my HTC ONE last weekend, paid full price minus 35% discount with work. 420.00. I get a call today saying I have to be on contract with discount. I asked why in the world would i pay full price w discount to be on contract. What was point. He said he could refund me and put me under contract at the 199 price.
Heres my question... I have the phone. I signed NO contract. I paid it and walked away. DO I need to go in and do this, or did they just mess up and trying to recover some money? I need a ATT rep or salemsan to give me honest answer, the guy was nice and its his manager riding him on this.
That sounds like a load of bull. I used to work at Best Buy Mobile and the way reps make money is through contract activations. You barely make anything on no contract sales. He probably wasn't supposed to sell the phone no contract since its a brand new phone and has such a high potential to be sold with contract. I wouldn't take it back. Especially since that's a great price for no contract
That's what I'm thinking. I just want confirmation before I tell them to kick rocks. Plus they hinting at swapping phones out. Mines already unlocked rooted and running. I don't think you'll get a real answer from someone who works at AT&T. IMO, I'd just ignore them completely. As you said, you have the phone in your hands, you didn't sign a contract, there really is nothing they can do to come after you. If they tried to charge you the additional money, it would be an unauthorized charge that you could dispute with your CC company and they would surely lose.

What possible cause would they have for blacklisting the IMEI? The phone is not stolen, tampered with, etc., you have proof of purchase. Just because they screwed up doesn't put you in the wrong at all.
I'm with ya. I think he realized he sold me phone early, display model, and wants to swap out and get me under contract. No way I'm going there. Either I'll pay rest or ignore him. I just don't want att to screw w me. I'll drop them fast. My 300 plus a month won't hurt them but I'll spend it somewhere else

Technically he is correct. Your fan discount percentage requires a 2yr agreement. However unless your willing to go in and sign I don't see what they can do to make you as you already paid and have the phone.

I've never had to sign any contract when using my discount and I've bought many phones that way. Like many here I'd rather pay full price or in this case full price minus the discount and be able to walk away whenever I wanted too.

Tha might be his manager ridding his butt for it, but it might be the rep also that realized he could've gotten a good return by activating the phone and you getting an upgrade. They cannot do anything to you at this point since you bought the phone outright and did sign a contract. They cannto blacklist your IMEI either because you did not steal the phone or aquire it some other way. you purchased the phone from them.
it is getting closer to the end of the month and they do work on commision, so he is probably thinkin about his quota for this month.
When i work for AT&T and a customer told me he wants to purchase the phone outright no contract i would just try to sell accesories, if that didn't work, i would just sell the phone, end of story.

He is not correct, the FAN gives you a discount on your plan and when you purchase phone outright (no contract), he is a premier customer which get a discount when they purchase a phone with no contract. When you do a contract it doesn't matter is you are premier or not. The premier perks are : dicsount from service, accesories, handsets and that's where is stops.

$500 paperweight?

So, a week ago I bought an HTC One from craigslist. We met at a T-Mobile store so that they could verify the phone was clean and able to be activated. They said everything was clean and safe to buy. Phone was working great for a week and then out of nowhere earlier today all the data and cellular service just turns off completely. I try turning it off & on several times, toggling airplane mode off/on, etc. etc. Finally I go in to a T-mobile store. After 30 minutes of turning it off & on, changing the SIM, calling corporate, etc. eventually they tell me that the phone was reported lost earlier today and is now blocked.
They tell me there is nothing they can do.... am I really just out the $450 now? Is there anything I can do??? What's the point of them verifying or checking anything if this can still be done? Any help or suggestions please!?!?
The only way to get it taken off the list is if the original phone owner calls in and says it is not stolen. It can be used with AT&T but none of the carriers that use Tmobile.
What your seller probably did was make an insurance claim. Get a second phone for $175 then he never returned the old phone sold it to you made $325 and then you get screwed.
Happens a lot more often now that IMEI can be blocked since march.
If you can get a hold of the person who sold it to you and be like wtf

If your seller was the original owner, then he is committing fraud if he has later reported it stolen. Check with the seller, and if you don't get a good answer, call the police. If the phone is stolen, then you need to call the police.

You think the police are really going to do anything about this? I kinda figured that would be a long shot. I'm guessing if I can find the seller's contact info they either won't answer, will hang up on me right away, or maybe even change their number if they didn't already....
To me, what I can't understand is how T-mobile doesn't have a better process that is more controlled. The IMEI should be tied to an account/owner and only be allowed to be activated on another account after transferring the ownership with the owner's consent. This seems like a pretty spotty process without any kind of controls in place.
Really don't want to be out half a grand....
Unfortunately I don't see any process like that anytime soon probably minimum ten years. That's what GSM is all about freedom to get a phone anywhere anytime. It is unfortunate that this happened to you. Happens very frequently especially within first fee months of phone launch.

The police report may not help you, but eventually it is quite possible that it will get the perpetrator into a lot of trouble - maybe keeping them from hitting someone else...

I called T–mobile myself a bit ago and just explained what happened. Apparently the lady put in a request to unblock it. She said it will take up to 48 hours to get it unblocked and to power cycle my phone pull the SIM out and try to make a call in 48 hours. Not sure what to think about that.... I guess I'll just give it a day or two and see what happens :/ From the research I've done it sounds unlikely they'll unblock it but I will stay optimistic.
SIDE NOTE: I found the sellers phone number and the text string of arranging the purchase. Think I should contact authorities or T-Mobile with the info or just try calling them directly?
If nothing else doesn't work, you can sell it to an Canadian or foreigner... Otherwise good luck...Did you ask for the receipt?, because when I bought my t-mobile htc one, I asked the seller to sent me a receipt.

Haha yeah I understand what you're saying and that you're not promoting me doing the same thing that was done to me. As a backup plan if nothing else works, this device could be used on AT&T right? I recently came from Sprint so not real savvy on how the SIM card / GSM networks work yet. Would I have to get the device "unlocked" to use on AT&T or a different GSM network? If so, could anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this and/or how much that costs.
Att and tmobile share imei lists.
Take that text string to tmobile. If the number that Texted you about the se is the number on his account. They can cross reference your phones imei to his number and use those texts as proof of purchase and help you.
I work at a store and if you came to me with this info I would unblock it for you....just sayin

You would also get fired for doing something stupid like that. You need to read up on the process of unblocking phones. Serious note, dont risk your job over something like this. Its not worth it, plus that phone is property of asurion once its reported stolen.
Do this!!!!
*Try to contact seller and get your money back
*Contact authorities and have them file a report and maybe and insurance fraud case.
*Dont waste your time anymore trying to contact tmobile. They will not unblock it. That phone belongs to asurion due to them paying for it. I would also recommend calling them 1-866-268-7221 Maybe they can assist you with something.

Actually I wouldn't be risking my job at all and there is a very strong possibility it would get unlocked. in circumstances such as this a rep can approach his manager with it and the store manager has the ability to call customer care and request the unblock. I would not be unblocking it myself

Well there is your lesson learned, Don't buy phones from Craigslist! I actually in the past had that happen but on a iPhone 4S and well it actually got blocked 3 days later and AT&T said it was reported stolen. So From there on I either buy my phones on ebay or just do some AT&T loopholes to get a brand new HTC One which I did and pay the new activation price for it

Thanks for the reply. Is that the number for Assurion? The store manager yesterday called them too and they were completely useless and just said to talk to T-mobile.

Why not learn a lesson from it and sell it to get the most of it ? Thats what i did in past
You can sell it on eBay say it is blacklisted at least get some money back.
Buddy of mine lost his phone made a claim. Then found his phone the day he got the new phone he called asurion for instructions on what to do he sent his new phone back they received it and got his money back in about ten days total. But they never unblocked his current phone that he found again. Here we are almost three months later his phone is still blacklisted and did nothing wrong. Called Tmobile at least ten times they always say 48 hours and doesn't do anything so he just gave up its a paperweight.

So I went over to Ebay and I see there is an HTC One with a T-mobile blacklisted IMEI with over 40 bids selling for over $400... this is very encouraging. Only difference is that one is Unlocked and the seller said he already verified it does work with AT&T with some minor APN changes. Does this seem legit? If so, what is the best/cheapest/most reliable way for me to unlock my phone? I did research this, but it sounds like many online sites charge a pretty good fee for this and don't have the best reputation. Also, most recommended having your carrier do it, which I'm sure is not an option in my case..... Appreciate the support!

I wont suggest you listing it as a phone working on at&t because this phone would not work in usa after a certain period(when tmobile UPDATES their blacklist with other networks) , if the ebay seller advises as such he would face the consequences . Payments are mostly done through paypal and they give a 45 day window for the buyer to claim the phone as not described . That would put you again in the same situation you are today in . You not just sell it for parts ? Get your money out of this sh*t and get yourself a new phone?

Eip payments owed in two phones by two different people.
Curious if this is how it could work by default or request to tmobile.
If two people have new lines both making Eip payments and owe I. Each phone , and you trade devices with them does the payme rd you make go toward the device that is now registered in your SIM card since when u put SIM In any phone that becomes the device that shows up in your account .Or do the Individuals that traded pay for there original phone even tho it is now registering on your sin and account .
And if not is it possible for the both to call tmobile and say they want the swapped phones to become the phones they want to pay for .Just to safeguard each others now swapped phones from non Eip payments and Imei block.

I get a headache just thinking about it. Call a T-Mobile store or dial 611 from a phone that is NOT one of the two phones in question.

I think you would get more accurate info from T-Mobile. I haven't seen any threads with this sort of issue or question.

But if both people are on TMO, and they both continue to pay their EIP and they just swap SIM cards, will TMO even care?
Yes. This is to safeguard you or the other guy if one of you decide to default on the payments.

The point is if both devices are being paid on and cost the same . What's the difference if you trade and both people continue to pay on the eip towards the NOW Device that is in the account since the trade so you aren't subjected to a imei cut off cause the idoiot other guy defaults ...it should default and shut off his phone which would be the one that that you traded him and he is now using not the one he traded u .

But here is how it works.
Your person A is buying a phone and paying on it, then sell it to person B.
Person B will be out of luck if person A stops paying.
Tmobile really doesn't let you transfer payments of a phone. The way they see it is that it's not your phone till it's paid for.
Trust me on this. A friend got burnt on this and end up with a blacklisted phone for $300
I imagine they won't let you do this until you pay off your current phone.

I certainly think it would be advisable to pay off the phones first, even if TMO allows the practice. It is simply cleaner for all involved.
You pay your eip and other guy pays his. Tmobile doesn't care what phone you are using. For eg..I had an S4 which I bought on eip, but sold it. I'm still paying the eip for that even though I am using the One which I bought for full price. If you buy a phone thru eip, you will pay the $20 for the next 24 months irrespective of you keep, sell, trade or throw your device.
Bottom line T-Mobile doesn't care what phone you use as long as your eip payments are made properly. The only issue happens when you trade and the other guy stops paying his eip. I believe T-Mobile can blacklist that imei. So the answer to your question, the payment you make always goes to the original phone you bought on eip, not the phone your SIM is in. Think about it, if you put your sim in a device which was paid off full, will T-Mobile stop taking the $20 eip from you? No.

Think of EIP as a credit card (with $0 fee & 0% interest)
You are responsible for what you purchase and what you do with it afterwards is your business. (Trade, sell, etc)
That does not alleviate you from paying off your balance for what you purchased.
An IMEI can be blacklisted if the account goes into canceled status and the balance is not paid; or if the device is reported lost/stolen (this can be done by either Tmo or Assurion)
There is a high risk of getting a blacklisted (or soon to be blacklisted) device when buying on CL or just off a street corner.

I can confirm this post as being correct. I am a tmobile rep.
Tmobile will not transfer or trade eip from one account to another. For any reason.
The money you owe on eip is attached to the account not the phone itself.

I can confirm they will not transfer an eip under any circumstances. I just had a friend take an assumption of liability on my account. I specifically asked the rep (who spoke very poor English) if this could be done, if not there was no reason to go through. She said yes it could. Well apparently not I called back several times and what ended up happening is my friend ended up with both my lines and no phone, he was not happy . It was a giant mess and they wouldn't even let me keep doing the installment plan, only pay the device off immediately. Thank goodness I was still under the Buyers Remorse period so I just mailed it back, but my friend missed out on a one week old GS4 with the down payment and taxes made. As a good gesture I did take back over the line and termed it out myself.
Simply put if im correct...your balance is your balance and his balance is his balance. If something goes south on your end ...the phone your using at that time is blacklisted and vice versa. EIP just is a extra curveball ib the trading game

EIP clarification
The EIP payment stays on whatever account it was purchased on, regardless of which line or which account it is being used on. The only way to make EIP go away is to pay it off early or ride out all installments. Example: You could buy phone X, make one installment payment, then sell the phone. Person A is now using that phone. You still have 23 installment payments remaining on your account even if person A is using that phone. The smart thing to do would be to take whatever money you made from selling the phone and put it towards your remaining EIP balance. That will free up EIP availability towards your next purchase. You could either do that or simply put that extra money down on a new device. Bottom Line: regardless of who owns the phone or is using it, EIP stays on the account from which it was purchased.

I bought a phone off someone from Craigslist. The EIP program was new and I had just switched to T-Mobile so I didn't even think of this happening. Needless to say, I'm out money and I have a shiny new coaster instead of a smartphone. All because that person stopped paying their EIP.

THIS. it doesn't matter if the IMEI/ESN is clean at the time of purchase like it is on Sprint/Verizon. the IMEI and really the phone are tied to the original buyer forever. it doesn't matter if he never activated the phone because they scan the IMEI on the box at the time of purchase.
there is no way to transfer ownership of the phone in T-mobiles eyes, ever. I once asked it i could report a phone stolen that i had sold to a guy over 2 years ago and have that IMEI blocked. answer was yes without question.
Be safe buying used phones people. demand a receipt or proof the phone has been paid off in full or walk away. Deals can be too good to be true.

Blacklisted, but unlocked, T-Mobile Galaxy S5 on AT&T

I'm thinking of buying blacklisted TMo GS5 (because of the unlocked bootloader & also because it's cheaper to get a blacklisted phone becuase of the stigma), if I were to unlock it would I be able to use it on AT&T or it's MVNO's? Has anywhere sucessfully tried it? Thanks,
Last time I checked at&t and Tmobile were sharing blacklisted list. Not 100% sure but I think that was the case a few years ago

As mentioned above and expanded I think ALL of the big phone companies share the blacklist emei's. I know I saw somewhere that other countries were gonna be doing the same. To help cut down on stolen phones that are bought and then shipped to other countries for use.

Well I did have a blacklisted Note 3 that I was using on at&t. I had no idea it was blacklisted until I tried selling it on Swappa. But it did work for me.

That is strange. If they were supposed to be sharing the database of blacklisted phones how were you able to use it?

I have no clue. I bought the note 3 from another XDA user. Used it for 3 weeks then put a listing on Swappa but it was declined cause the phone Imei was blacklisted. Phone worked perfectly fine for the few weeks I had it on AT&T.

I unlock phones etc daily ... and yeah if you have a blacklisted at&t phone you Can't! Use it, unless you go overseas ... But if you have a blacklisted tmobile phone you can unlock it and use with another carrier example (At&t, red locket, h2o) with no problem ....

How does a phone that just came out get blacklisted? I'm under the un ow does derstanding that they only blacklist stolen or unpaid phones. Are you saving their now blacklisting phones from other carriers simply because they aren't looking their bootloader?

I am not a goody two shoes - far from it - but to me there is something morally wrong with buying and supporting Black listed phones = just to save a few bucks.
you are in effect supporting the people who stole the phone in the first place - I would rather pay a premium price for a new phone and know that I am not getting a deal because of someone elses misfortune than pay less for a black listed phone just to save money,
If you have ever had a phone stolen from you - I think you would agree - buying a black listed phone is not a victimless crime it can perpetrate the original theft and we should all consider avoiding that....all black listed phones are probably not stolen - but how do you know?

Most blacklisted phones are either financed or reported lost. That's why they are blacklisted by the carrier. I've never had anybody steal my phone or know of anyone who had their phone stolen. Those who default on their payment deserve to get their phones blacklisted but at that point they are out of the innitial $200+ anyway. So if they're looking to resell the phone to recoupe that money, I'm not sure how that should be looked down upon. Meanwhile those who lose their phones and later go on to report it as stolen because they want to get a new phone thru insurance, get no sympathy from me.

This. But my friend was caught by this, and there is no resolve for the issue he ran into. Goes like this:
He wanted to upgrade, but his upgrade was not up yet, so he decided to go on craigslist and buy a Brand new in box factory sealed GS3. He did so for something like $450 right after launch. He took the phone out of the box, set it up with his SIM, was on tmo fine for about a month or 40 days or so.
He goes to use his phone, and it wont connect to tmo, wont call via wifi, ect. So he calls tmo. They tell him the phone's original account defaulted and was never paid on, even though it was now on his account, and he had been a customer for something like 12+ years with a 4G tablet, and multiple phones in the past, they said they could do nothing to remove the blacklist. They said it was originally purchased with another GS3. They think it was most likely some kind of identity fraud. Sign somebody up and grab two $450 phones and sellem factory sealed.
He ended up selling it as a blacklisted phone on tmo to an AT&T Sub who unlocked it and used it on that carrier, but at a large loss.
For this reason, I will never buy a second hand phone. Its not worth the risk of losing the amount of money these phones go for off contract. Unless someone can prove the phone is paid off. In which case I probably still wouldn't do it.

So far only couple of people are able to do the new Galaxy S5 including me .... well the AT&T at the moment ... I'm waiting for a TMobile donor phone to begin the process ...
But I'm not gonna go into details about this kind of stuff ...

I thought blacklisted phones cannot connect to any GSM carriers in the US because they share the same IMEI database?
blacklisted != blocked != reported lost != reported stolen...
there's different situations that warrant where it'll be blocked from and different databases. actually, checkesnfree dot com does a pretty good job explaining it, though it's not 100% foolproof. just run a test with an imei number and see the different response types. they give you a decent list of possible results.
i've run AT&T on an unlocked T-Mobile SGS3 that was reported lost and it still works. because it's blocked from T-Mobile but not blacklisted across all.
hope this gives you some insight. i nearly got ripped by an eBay seller who sold me a fraudulently obtained S5 which i promptly returned and thank God it all worked out (dude had 100% positive across several years too, it surprised the sheeeet outta me). I ended up driving to Delaware (only 40 minutes from me and I had to do other shopping anyway) and got it tax free with my friend's T-Mobile number at $660 instead of $689. paid $25 on eBay for the unlock code and now I'm 100% worry free, bootloader lock free, KNOX free lol, and rooted.
lesson: it's a $650+ investment. be smart. since I'm running it on AT&T anyway, I could have kept that eBay phone which was blocked and not blacklisted, but why bother? who knows what could happen down the line? value would also be down. plus, I made 30 minutes of phone calls with my friend's T-Mo sim card (to be safe, 30, not just 5) just to ensure it also gets region unlocked too. =)
if you do buy it somewhere else, make sure they have a receipt showing it was PAID IN FULL. cash. they could report a stolen CC number down the line too so I wouldn't trust even one paid in full with CC. even then with a cash receipt I would be careful.. they could report it stolen later down the line, collect insurance, whatever! which goes around again to this: it's not worth it, just get it straight from the carrier! it's a freakin $650-$700 device, it's not worth gambling to save a few bucks!
Blacklisted doesnt necessarily mean stolen. Most of the time some ppls phone is damaged were thr company will demand them to buy another phone instead they report it lost n pay for insurance to get another one easy. It makes sense ur paying for insurance why not use to its full potential?

I just purchased a S5 a couple days ago from Craigslist. Meet the person in a T-mobile store and checked the imei before buying it. Everything checked out and I bought it.
A friend once gave me a Verison DroidX. I called Verizon and they confirmed it was Blacklisted. Took it to metro and activated it with no problems.
My S5 is black listed and working just fine on at&t network. No locked boot loader and rooted all the way. Got it cheap too haha
