First of all I admit that i have done stupid thing.
Before telling this I did HSPL to flash radio rom.
Yesterday I dropped my phone.
And from that time on vibration hadn't worked and booting phone by its own hardware buttons also, not working.
But I found booting only works by following method:
plug in charger while battery is out and then press as soon as battery is inserted again.
Now, what I committed to fix my vibrator was that i tried to disassemble and I got stuck at separating the housing with the screen one.
But I just adadoned to fix it and assembled it again.
After I booted my phone by that strange method above, the touch screen did not work.
So I pressed reset button at the back.
Now it is stuck at the first HTC logo screen. (think it is bricked?)
However It doens't show any information about R,G,D just the logo.
Many time till now the result is the same.
Now my question is...
My warranty is not over yet so I think I can get the new one.
However what interrupts my mind is that "what if they find out it is HSPL?"
But my opposing the question above is that can they see if I did HSPL or not since bootloader doesn't work, and proper powering on of the device doens't work either.
So what is you guys opinion will I be ok to get new one without being accused..?
My other concerns are that what if the boot loader suddenly works... and they find out!!?
And also what if they find out that i disassembled once.. cause the screws look touched..
lol while editting.. the phone got RGDs back although it seems it is rare, now it means there is chance for them to notice it..
You will find that your warranty does not cover accidental damage, so the shop you purchased it from probably will not replace it.
Unless you took out insurance at time of purchase that covers accidental damage.
Your best option, is to claim under your household contents insurance, but once again, check that mobile phones are covered, some policies do not, as it is an item you take out of house.
Thanks for your reply, I am really blured ,because i'm now on relatives house abroad..
Initially when i get back i will check..
unless you have insurance I cant see you being covered I hope you are though, any form of insurance with the HD2 is a must imo
HSPL + visible damage from the fall + disassembly evidence (there's a sticker on a screw that will be broken if you unscrew it, to show it's been opened) = definitely no warranty.
Even if there was any chance you could claim warranty, HSPL modification alone would void it. And unfortunately there is no way to revert unless you install a stock ROM from SD Card. I know it very well cause I just did it yesterday. Had to send mine to claim warranty as the touch screen failed...
Now my lower touch screen acts on It's on. I have calibrated the screen but it still acts on it's own. Will removing the screen and putting it back help? I'm thinking maybe it will release pressure from the lower screen that it's causing it to act weird. I shake the phone during a txt and it randomly starts selecting letters. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue, but for me the problems randomly started on its own, not after dropping it. I brought it into sprint, they changed the screen and said that didn't fix it. They replaced my phone. Make sure you unroot before you go in, if you decide to.
According to some sprint techs, and several other people that have anecdotal stories about repairs by sprint, fixing a physical problem with the phone doesn't require un root. Rooting voids the HTC warranty, but won't prevent them from fixing something like that.
Anyways, your problem most likely lies in the touch screen digitizer, or the ribbon cable connection from the digitizer to motherboard. If you are not capable of fixing it yourself from a tear down guide you can look at from here on xda or across the internet, then you will either have to have sprint do the repair or get a replacement. Remember though, replacements are almost always refurbished, and will likely come with hboot x.5 or higher, and you won't be able to have true root.
Now, if you can do the repair yourself it just requires the purchase of a digitizer. Which will come already attached to a brand new outer glass screen, and has the ribbon cable already attached. That will cost you around 50 dollars. I actually have the part you need, brand new, never used, but tested to be working that I was going to Ebay for as much as I could. I would sell it to you for 49 plus whatever shipping method you wanted. Let me know if you are interested

Another xda member I've talked to who was having a similar problem went into Sprint, and they said he had to unroot and go back to stock before fixing his phone. So you may or may not have to unroot if you decide to bring your phone in.
Also dont tell sprint you dropped your phone either.. otherwise they will tell you to go through Asurion and you gonna have to pay...
I am having some major problems with my touchscreen/digitizer.
About three months ago I dropped the phone and it cracked the screen in a few places. It was still completely usable.
In the last month, there have been some areas of the screen that have become completely unresponsive. I could usually get around this by rotating the phone, touching a different area, and then rotating it back. However the problem seems to be getting worse where larger and larger areas are unresponsive. There is now a rectangular band about one centimeter high that goes the complete width of the screen that doesn't respond to any touch, ever.
In addition to the completely dead zones on my screen, the touchscreen sometimes becomes completely unresponsive which can be fixed by locking and unlocking the screen.
I don't have a lot of money for a new phone, so I was able to live with these problems, but they're getting worse. Also, if my wife or anyone needs to borrow my phone they often find it completely unusable. In the middle of me explaining the problems and workarounds, they usually just give up.
I'm wondering if I replace the digitizer, will this problem go away? Or is there something else wrong with the phone that might not be serviceable by me? In addition to the digitizer problem, my headphone jack stopped working. If I plug anything in, nothing happens and sound continues to come out of the phone speaker. That's leading me to believe the phone has some deeper problems that I might not be able to fix, but if I can fix the screen I can live with the headphone jack problem.
My digitizer wasn't cracked, but I have the same problem. I send my phone to service and I'm waiting for response.
"Service" is not an option for me. The warranty is gone. I do not have insurance. I purchased the phone refurbished for $50. The only reason I did not replace the digitizer the moment it cracked is because the digitizer is the same price as what I paid for the phone in the first place.
Mine under warranty so I send it to motorola service centre and they replace the digitizer for me. I get it back in 2 days after sending it in.
But they flash my ROM and I'm not sure whether my phone still unlockable or not.
Btw, I have read a lot of atrix user with digitizer issue. It send common for our phone. You can easily spot few threads showing you how to replace the digitizer.

Soooo, I hate to bring back a dead thread, but I figured it was better than starting one of my own.
My Atrix recently had a sudden impact of its own. Cosmetically, it is still perfect. The touchscreen no longer responds though.
Phone still works. It receives calls, text, syncs with email, changes volume, etc. The touchscreen just wont respond to any of my fingers lol.
My question to Ovitz (or anyone else) is, did you get your phone back fixed and what was the solution?
I am leaning towards the digitizer, but I just want to verify before I put money into it. There are no rattles in the phone. No crack at all. I, generally, take great care of my phones and this one looks basically like it did out of the box.
Thanks in advance!!!

You dislodged the connection for the didgitizer or broke. I suggest you replace it. There have been plenty of Q and A threads on this. Get one from eBay oem, YouTube search a how to, and take it slow.

Please can anybody with experience of galaxy s6 repair help.
A couple of weeks ago I turned of my s6 one night, next morning I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't, it was completely unresponsive, black screen no lights, the phone has never been dropped or damaged in anyway or been anywhere near water.
When it was switched off the battery was almost fully charged, so I knew it wasn't a dead battery but I tried the charger anyway. There was no charging light and the back of the phone near the rear camera got quite hot within a couple of minutes. I tried a soft reset but it didn't work.
So then I took it to a local phone shop for repair. The guy in the shop said that he'll send the phone of the workshop for a diagnostic. Anyway he called up and said the motherboard is faulty and needed to replaced. Now he phoned up again and the guy who is fixing the phone is now saying the screen also needs to be replaced, apparently the backlight is not working. Now I know amoled screens do not have any backlight, so I asked him what exactly is wrong with the screen as it's a amoled screen it doesn't have a back light, he said he doesn't know just the engineer said the backlight doesn't work. He said the repair would cost £149.
My question can a faulty motherboard damage the screen? is he what he is saying plausible or is he trying a con?
Thanks in advance for any reply's.

A faulty motherboard can damage the screen (in various ways). All screens have backlight (except for screens like the old Nokia 3310 had) so the layers of your screen might be damaged or have leaked since there is a fluid "sticking" the layers together. This is (obviously) not a software problem, but I would like to know if you were rooted, had any custom ROMs/kernels and did you have XPosed installed. How did you root and did you have a custom recovery?
All my statements are afaik (as far as I know) and based upon real life experiences, if anything I wrote is wrong, feel free to correct me as we are all learning .
Thanks for the reply, I hadn't rooted the phone, all I had done was replace the vodafone firmware to stock firmware as I was no longer on vodafone and wanted to remove all the bloatware, but that was many months ago and everything was working fine.
I just find it odd that a perfectly working phone can be damaged so badly for no obvious reason, it wasn't plugged into the charger, I just turned it off one night put it on my desk, tried to turn it on next morning and it was dead.
So does the repair seem legit to you? I am just a bit weary as I know how easy it would be to charge for parts that aren't necessary. Also is there anyway I could check if the screen has really been changed as the display on my phone was in perfect condition, not a single mark or scratch or any thing to identify it against a brand new screen.

Hmmm, okay.
If you have the right tools you can probably make a mark with a marker or something that won't damage the screen and then when they "replace" it you can check if it is still there. By the way, I don't mean on the screen but on that metal part on the underside of the screen. If you don't want to make such a thing because you maybe don't have the necessary tools, make a tiny scratch that you can locate but won't affect using the phone or not visible unless you really take a close look. If you don't want to do that you can take it to an official Samsung retailer or send it to them (this is probably the most recommended option).
Unfortunately the phone already at the repair shop, I got a call a few days ago telling me that the logic board was damaged and needed to be replaced, I agreed to that repair, now he called again today and said the display also needs to be changed. That's why I'm a bit suspicious, I can understand how the motherboard maybe faulty and may have died, but the display also? maybe he damaged the display when trying to change the motherboard or he's charging for unnecessary work or maybe he's telling the truth and the faulty motherboard killed the display, I don't know.
I was wondering if there's something in the firmware which keeps count of the number of times a part has been replaced or how long the display has been used for or a way I can check the date of the display manufacture without opening the phone.

Unfortunatly, no,but if the phone is working after the repair that means it is fixed! If not, they will give you a replacement since they test everything to make sure it works.
I was using my phone fine, I grabbed the phone 5 minutes after last using it to find it unresponsive with a red led light.
It was really hot so I thought it may have overheated but no. I Can't turn it on, can't fast boot or boot into recovery. The red light is just constantly on with screen off.if I hold the power button or try a recovery boot the red light goes off then comes on again. I've tried plugging it into the charger with no change, I think it was at 70% when it went unresponsive.
I can't find anything about this issue hence why I'm posting here, I'm pretty sure it's dead but hoping for some miracle as I'm on holiday and can't easily repair or replace.
I haven't rooted, rebranded or anything.
Unplug phone. Hold power and volume up for 15-20 seconds. Should get to recovery or at least bootloader
If not, repeat with power for about 30 second. Could be stuck in a dfu mode.
So im back from my holiday, took the phone into store for warranty claim. They are saying water damage. What a load of crap. Not a lot i can do about the situation so now im out of pocket $600.
Huawei, never again!

If that's not true, then you should escalate the problem to Huawei's higher ranks. Or hammer them on twitter and other social.
Same issue
I got a brand new mate20 pro about three days ago and yesterday it went off for no reason. The phones screen has been off since, the red LED has been constantly on and the phone doesn't respond to anything. This seems to be some sort of factory defect, it kinda reminds me of the ring of death that the Xbox had a few years back. Is it fixable or must the phone be replaced?

Most of authorized services say that water caused a problem just to void your warranty and try to sell you the new main board. I hate this, a lot of Samsung, Sony and Nokia phones have finished like this because of idiots in authorized service. If the phone is water/splash proof, problem is in manufacturing process and needs to be accepted by RMA. You can not trigger moisture indicators in these phones in normal circumstances.
