I posted this in the Noob thread but got no help there for 13 hours now and Im kinda in a hurry so here's what it is; Okay, so whenever I reboot to recovery and press re-install packages it tells me it failed to do so for some reason after two seconds and the font stays purple. Any suggestions guys? Should I proceed to install the ROM using Rom manager? Is this normal? Please answer I have to finish this today, I've no other time.
Bad update.zip

Are you already rooted and trying to flash a rom? Not enough detail here to work with

Yes I am. And if its the update.zip file that is corrupt then kindly link me to a valid one.
Use rom manager and get a new one

Did you remove bloat? Delete stock apps? Change icons? Etc...

Yes, a little of all three. I downloaded the update using mega file and found out where i needed to put it. The installation aborted and gave a status 7. 5bb6 in /system/app/DataManagerSrrvice.apk & 5ccl in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

I can easily get you the first but I'm not sure of the 2nd. Check out my update thread in development. Someone linked to a fully bloated stock zip.

I have downloaded a zip file from samfirmware and placed it on my SD, tried installing it using recovery but every time I get a message saying it's unable to verify the signature. Had the same problem using ROM Manager to d/l CM9 nightly.
Any suggestions?

I am relatively certain that zips from samfirmware.com are Odin flash packages... I don't think they're CWM recovery flashable zips. So you're doing it wrong.
Makes sense, cheers matey

The apk is not compatible with your system version or it is corrupted.

Do you have the Android SDK installed ?
You might check logcat for more details.
Since I can't find anything on Google, I guess your package might be corrupted.
Try clearing your cache and download the app again.
I did now the odin Rom and now everything is working fine.

Hi all,
I'm trying to install the apk that has been extracted from a galaxy 3. It installs on my dads standard GT-P7500 with ICS no problem.
When I copy it over to my GT-7500 running CM 10.1 it just says application not installed.
Is there any way to get past this?
I have tried using root installer, but to no joy.
